- Sharon (5/5): - We were a little late for breakfast and were alone in the dining room. Had to figure out how to go about heating the omelette and discover the small room with other buffet items. Breakfast was adequate. No staff around. Had to request cutlery, there wasn't any. For the most part, it was OK, the owner/manager (Michael) was very friendly and accommodating, Grace was an added bonus. However, the pictures in the brochure looked luxurious compared to the real thing, The pillow cases were tattered, and there was a musty smell upon entering the cottage. Must consider that the premises are old, very difficult to maintain the painting, and the look of the property etc. Probably would not stay there again,

- Michael (6/5): - First of all, this is not a bad review, It’s just something you should know if you are considering staying here… We arrived just after dark which didn’t help. Our registration was left in a box on the front porch. It was a very short drive to move the car to the parking area for the tents. We were traveling with small and lg. suitcase and a couple of bags. As it was dark and this was in the forest it was extremely hard to see. They have some solar lights, but they don’t do a great job. You have to climb up a VERY very steep very rocky dirt road to get to the tents. I absolutely would not recommend this for elderly people or anybody with balance or physical issues. I was wearing regular tennis shoes. What was needed was probably hiking boots and a stick! We found our tent. The tents are supposed to have a pellet stove and heated mattress pad. Ours had neither plus there was a mouse in the tent. The tents are huge and decently furnished. I called the front desk and a very sweet man came about 10 minutes later on a quad. He said he had literally just bought the property a month before and was working out the bugs. He helped us move our stuff to another tent, which had a pellet stove which he did not know how to work. Between the three of us, we finally got it going. There was also an electric heater. On the front deck of the tents is a tinystandup tent with a portapotty. There is a washroom WAY down the hill. Again, this is not for the faint of heart. Breakfast was fine.

Broken step leading to tent; very dim lighting on pathway to tent; barely perceptible heat from mattress heating pad set on high; leaky faucet inside portable washroom next to tent. At group washroom: shower on far right had difficult temp control ( either too hot or cold); another unit lacked soap at sink and the towel dispenser malfunctioned. Needing to walk to outdoor locker for extra bedding was inconvenient. The breakfast offered was much more than expected and the woman in charge of the breakfast/kitchen was very helpful and kind.
- Sara (8/5): - Very unique “glamping” experience. We stayed one night in our way home from Canada. Because of the fire ban we couldn’t use our pellet stove so it was fairly cold, but the heating pads on the bed did help a little. Breakfast the next morning was delicious!

The little things make a differenct to a weary traveler and the new owners were happy to recieve the feedback. Breakfast was very limited and did not take gluten/dairy free diets into consideration. Plenty of things to do for kids as well! Thank you guys! We had a really nice time at your place and will definitely come back in when in the area again, perhaps try glamping this time around😁 Cheers! Too bad there was a fire ban in effect, I'm sure we would have had a wonderful time around the fire pit.

The descriptions needed to state the physical ability to use stairs and go up steep terrain. The camp toilets at the tents were not what I would want to use.

The kids enjoyed the hot tub and playing the outside games The cleanliness could have been better. Our full bathroom did not smell clean and the toilet had not been cleaned since the last visitors - we luckily had another toilet that we could use. The shower curtain smelled and soap dispensers were empty. Regardless, we loved our stay

- Nilton (5/5): A lovely location with great potential, but some facility issues affected the comfort of the stay. - The location is very quiet, making it a perfect hideaway. The site is clean and easy to find, which I really appreciated. I think this would be a wonderful spot for summer glamping if all the facilities are in good working order. The warm breakfast was nice after a cold night’s sleep here. The pellet wood stove had been replaced with a space heater, but it didn’t provide enough warmth. Both electric blankets were broken as well, so I had a very uncomfortable night trying to sleep in the cold tent. I had also booked a hot tub session, but when I arrived there were no lights at all. After spending about 20 minutes searching, I discovered the plug wasn’t connected and had been left exposed to the rain. I ended up having to navigate in the dark, carefully avoiding the wet floor. Overall, it didn’t feel relaxing at all.

Troisième lit posé en vrac après. Je n'avais pas compris qu'il n'y avait RIEN aux alentours. 20 minutes de voiture pour manger. My bad. J'aurais dû faire plus attention.
- Grégoire (3/5): Franchement médiocre, rien de glamour. - Le petit-déjeuner était correct et les lits étaient confortables. Nous avons loué une tente en "glamping" (camping glamour). L'emplacement de la tente est très ordinaire, avec la ligne de haute-tension qui passe à côté, et l'autoroute à quelques dizaines de mètres, très bruyante toute la nuit. Il n'y a aucun charme du camping en nature. La tente toilette sur la plateforme puait fortement l'urine, inutilisable. L'équipement dans la tente est très basique. 2 lits, 1 petite table, 3 petites lampes qui éclairent très peu, un poêle à granule qui fait trop de bruit et de lumière pour l'utiliser la nuit. Il n'y avait strictement aucun équipement pour manger par soi-même: pas de frigo, pas de micro-onde, aucune assiette, ustensil, etc. Rien. Lorsque j'en ai parlé au propriétaire, il n'a offert aucune aide.

Internet didn’t work so couldn’t use the tv, no coffee cups just lids, were approached multiple times by different people about parking even though the lady who registered us said we could park anywhere (we were trying to get close to temporarily unload bags but they were quite weird about it). Couple of dogs roaming around which makes me nervous with kids. The lady in the kitchen was wonderful and very helpful. The beds were very comfortable.

- Dr. B.F. (10/5): - Dominion Hill is a very special place. The property is meticulously maintained and sits on a hill, well back from the road, with magnificent water views. The staff throughout is friendly and helpful, and customer service is clearly a top priority. Highly recommend this property.

J'ai aimé le fauteuil massant, très agréable en fin de journée. Nous n'avons pas aimé le petit-déjeuner qui n'était pas très varié. Le bruit dans le loft à coté de notre logement. Tout est en bois, tout craque et c'est très bruyant. Logement un peu sombre. Pas de personne à l'arrivée. Les clés étaient dans une boîte à côté de la porte d'entrée de l'accueil de l'établissement. Le personnel n'était pas très agréable lorsque nous avons procédé au paiement le jour de notre départ. Pas de question pour savoir comment s'était passé notre séjour et une attitude un peu froide. Cela contraste avec le lieu qui est malgré tout chaleureux.

We didn't use the hot tub but it looked very nice. The breakfast was fine but nothing special. They only left 2 towels for us and we had trouble finding more. The bathrooms were very nice but not so clean after other people used them!

- Triciann (8/5): I would go back and recommend Dominion Hill Country Inn to anyone traveling in Canada.i loved it! - Beautiful grounds, well kept property with private location and option of staying in the inn, a separate small cottage, whole home, small RV or platform tents. It even had well appointed platform safari tents with beds. So quaint! The complimentary breakfast was delicious, the hot tubs, grills and yard games were perfect. In addition there is a tidal basin across the street where you can see the dramatic tide change, a small waterfall and wildlife! We saw bald eagles! It is hilly with lots of gravel, so have good shoes and ensure you can manage a walk on uneven surfaces up and down hills. Using a port o potty on your glamping deck in a small tent, may not be for you, but we were fine with it! There’s a perfect clean, new shower/bath house nearby with flush toilets. The road noise was a bit loud due to the nearby freeway.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely grounds & great breakfasts - We were booked to stay in one of the 'glamping' tents but discovered it didn't have ac as listed, which usually wouldn't be a big deal but we were staying during a heat wave, so not so much. Also the wifi didn't reach the tent and I needed to work during the stay... The combination of those two issues made working impossible. I let Michael know about the issues and he was able to move us to a room inside the building for the remainder of the stay. The room in the building was lovely, very clean and had everything you'd expect. Don't be fooled by the 'Continental' breakfast listing - the breakfasts were way beyond what this usually means! Home made muffins, a freshly cooked dish each day (varied by the day), seasonal fruit and a variety of other options. Had gluten free bread (available on request, with a dedicated gluten free toaster), and gluten free cereal. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds are lovely. This was our second visit, the first time we stayed in a cottage. I highly recommended the rooms and cottages and will always look their first when starting in the area. The tent, by comparison, was disappointing, especially given the price. The bed was very comfortable though, and definately an upgrade from 'regular' camping. A tent may be worth it for you because of all the other amenities, but if a room is available I take it in a heart beat.

The person at the front office is a complete sweetheart and provides excellent customer service. The property is stunning and facilities great. A few of the bathrooms for glamping were low on handsoap but otherwise spacious and clean. The breakfast casserole we had was excellent and the selection of bagels, yogurt, fruits, and cereal was great. Also if you get the chance, outside of glamping 8 tent (where we stayed) we saw hundreds of fire flies out. It was incredible. Beautiful and serene spot

- Grant (8/5): Unique and relaxting - An extremely cute hotel. There are numerous forms of stays - hotel like, some types of cabins (including an airstreamer?) and glamping. We stayed in the hotel. Its deeply colonial styled, including bathtubs with claw feet. The breakfast was sufficient, using ceramic plates and cups. The location is down an isolated road, past a pond with a waterfall, and then onto the estate. We would stay again for a night or two, but only in the cooler shoulder months. There is no AirCo, which might be a problem in the hot summer, and no elevator (which was not a problem). Like many hotels, there was no stand for a second suitcase. And as we have seen once in a while, no bedstand for one side of our king bed. We let the management know, and maybe they will fix that.
