Guest Reviews
- Tobias (7/5): - It has a nice location and the staff were very nice Being from Minnesota, we were in town for a graduation and were looking forward to the hot tub and pool but they were closed the whole time. Very disappointing. And our bathroom tiles were falling off the wall and two or three tiles on the floor were loose. The toilet took two to three flushes for anything to go down. Kinda irritating. And having the cleaning room just down the hallway banging shut over and over after we drove fifteen hours was disappointing but I understand.
- Karin (9/5): -
- Aliya (7/5): Standard - Location, open shower for disabilities, amenities. Smaller options for breakfast, non pork options available, not as clean as before in the room in bathroom, floors, smell.
- AdoréMariah (10/5): - Need more breakfast options

- Bonner (7/5): - The property was good and in a nice location. The only thing I didn’t like, is that the door to the room I was in didn’t open easy or shut easy. It was hard to open and shut. It is a safety issue for sure.
- AdoréMariah (9/5): - Everything Just need more breakfast options overall great stay
- Oneisha (5/5): - Location, staff was pleasant It was hair in the shower. Water pressure wasn’t up, a weird smell in the room. A ticking sound by the phone none stop. Hot tub was none functional
- Cristina (10/5): Enjoy the state. Place is very close to good restaurants lots of places near to go.. very clean - Place was very nice and clean very comfortable But I wish the room should have a microwave is needed soo bad Having a microwave i the rooms will be very helpful. Every body need a microwave very useful it will have one

- Jerry (2/5): This was a pitiful place to stay. - TV had Netflix and the rooms were clean. No microwaves or coffee pots in the rooms. Hot tub was not hot and the water was dirty and murky. There was no carpet in the room. It was not a comfortable setting. Staff attempted to excuse my complains stating, “It is not a long term facility”
- Chandra (10/5): - Everyone was very nice In door pool
- Aspen (8/5): Great stay! - It was clean, close to our venue and staff were friendly! No notes honestly

Un service client vraiment apprécié Tout au long de notre séjour, nous n’avons pas eu accès à l’eau chaude et aucun service de ménage n’est venu faire notre chambre. C’est décevant considérant les attentes de base pour ce type d’hébergement.

- ikcd2026 (10/5): Awesome Hotel! - I recently stayed at the Tru by Hilton Garland/Richardson, and it was an absolute standout experience from start to finish! The "vibes" here are honestly over the top! It has such a modern, high-energy atmosphere that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk through the doors. Once you're in the rooms, that high-energy mellows down. Your room is your own, minimally designed, quiet sanctuary! We were close to Firewheel Town Center, and many walkable restaurants.
The front desk team deserves a huge shout-out; they were incredibly friendly, professional, and made the check-in process feel like catching up with old friends. Beyond the great service, I was so impressed by how well-maintained the property is. Everything was impeccably clean, from the vibrant lobby to my actual guest room. It’s rare to find a spot that balances a cool social scene with such high standards of cleanliness. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to the area so I can stay here again. Highly recommended! Definitely worth the price!

- Linda (10/5): We enjoyed our stay. Convenient and comfortable. - Breakfast was good. Great variety. No pastries. Only bagels
- Latonya (9/5): - Everything was nice and clean Rooms are small
- Morgan (2/5): I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. We left a night early. - Nothing. The water pressure in our bathroom was non existent, the ceiling above our shower was dripping water into our shower from the floor above, the tile was cracked and a hole in the floor of our bathroom. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything all night long.

- Janelle (9/5): I was there for my niece's 34th birthday party it was a good stay - The breakfast was great and I was thankful to know they served chicken sausage because I don't eat pork so that was a plus The price could have been a bit more competitive for me being a Hilton honors member
- jenniferjB172RL (2/5): Don't waste your time - We stayed 2 nights for a cheer competition & there were no towels to be found. The ones that were found in the room are all you got. If you asked for more towels they would tell you they didn't have any or you would have to wait til morning and ask housekeeping. One night we asked for pool towels and were given bathroom rugs. We had a better experience than others who traveled in our group. We had another stay booked for the end of the month but cancelled before we checked out.

- Pickrell (10/5): Will definitely stay again. - Bkfst was great. Quite and great communication.
- Robert (8/5): - Location and friendly staff. Bathroom waste falling apart.
Shower door handles falling off.
Floorboards were loose.
Foot rest in the shower was dangling.
- Michelle (2/5): Broken down rooms - Staff was nice Never was able to have breakfast because they didn’t open early enough. Hot tub was closed. Room looked like it was falling apart with cockroaches. Broken shower doors, mold, toilet was dirty upon arrival, I wouldn’t stay here again.

- wjmohring (2/5): Filthy and lacks accountability - I am still here until the morning, but I felt compelled to write this review early. This is easily the worst hotel stay I've ever had due to a lack of cleanliness from the hotel and it's housekeeping staff. On Thursday I asked to have the room cleaned and they did not clean it at all. On Friday I asked again. They came in and put new towels and sheets, but did not clean the bathroom. They left the bathroom with hair in the sink, speckles of feces in the toilet bowl, and some urine stain drops on the bathroom floor. All the front desk could say was sorry. I asked again today (saturday) to have it cleaned and gave them a list of what to pay attention to. They cleaned the sink. Only half way cleaned the toilet (basically just the low, visible part...up around the rim was still filthy, and just left without cleaning the urine stains off the floor. When I informed the front desk, again they just said sorry. At this point I asked if I could be put in another room and they said they didn't have any available. But yet, the parking lot is slightly less than half full. Additionally, they have a garbage can out front that has been overflowing for 2 days in a row now. This hotel is FILTHY and their housekeeping staff will cut corners and try to take shortcuts to get in an out, and the staff takes ZERO accountability. I would avoid this place like the plague, cause quite honestly, you might actually get it staying here.

- Rackard (8/5): -
- Ruth (3/5): Would not stay there again despite good loc. - Location, people and support I’m almost certain, my bed had bed bugs. I was bit all over in clusters
- Gereneicia (10/5): -
- Melody (4/5): Very disappointing because we only booked for the use of the Jacuzzi yet it was NOT available! This is an amenity we sho - The rooms were fairly cleaned. This property NEVER has a working Jacuzzi! The Jacuzzi was the ONLY reason we Booked TWO rooms. It was a birthday gift. We've Booked two times before and the Jacuzzi was supposedly NOT working. Different times of the year (Spring, Summer and now Winter)! This is NOT what we expected from any property associated to the "Hilton" name.
- Ashlee (10/5): -
- Jamie (9/5): Good location and felt like a good neighborhood - Location was great. The beds was comfortable The breakfast and our 1st room the TV wasn't working
- Hugo (10/5): -
- Evelyn (10/5): -
- Laura (8/5): Nice , clean, comfy place to stay - Very clean and peaceful place to rest Breakfast is served very early
- James (3/5): We stayed here last year. Was great. This year wasn’t so nice. Will be looking for somewhere else. Wanted to swim and he - Clean Hot, problems with door locks, swimming pool closed by health department, wasn’t decorated very nice for Christmas.
- Kaitlyn (3/5): Won’t return. - The guy that helped me was nice & it looked nice in the hotel.. Found a huge roach in my room on top of the other issue I had and he transferred me hotels. I found huge roach in my room and the pool was shut down with a huge orange health department sticker. They did not notify me the pool would be closed prior to me checking in or at check in, I discovered the pool was unavailable after bringing in all my items.
- MellyRussi (8/5): Good stay with a few issues - First stay for 6 nights - 2 adults. We stayed Sunday through Saturday, but if you hit a full weekend here where there’s like a sports group or cheer competition, it could be hell as there is a convention center nearby. The hotel could be overrun with kids. We were lucky and our stay was pretty quiet. It’s a different type of hotel and I did know what to expect staying in a tru once before. It’s bright clean and modern and caters to more of a younger crowd in general. A free breakfast is provided each morning in the lobby. There’s an indoor pool and hot tub but it’s been closed since November 25 so that was not open the whole time we were there. The laundry was also out of service the entire time.. the rooms are adequate but on smaller side. The heating and cooling system was not good either too hot or too cold could never find an in between. Beds were comfy. Bathroom stocked with free shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash and lotion, which was nice. There are several restaurants in walking distance, an IHOP, a Buffalo Wild Wings …there is a very small exercise room. The price is good. Overall it’s adequate as a good budget hotel. Staff very friendly. Just few areas for improvement.
- AydenWinters (10/5): Modern Vibe, Great Breakfast, and Kind Staff! - We were here for the cheer competition at the Curtis Culwell Center next door and we had a wonderful time. The stay was convenient, very close to the hotel. The vibe was modern and hip. We've stayed here before, and we love the breakfast, and how clean and quiet the hotel is. The housekeeping staff makes their rounds and are so kind whenever they stop by. The room is what one should expect from a Tru, simple, modern, and great value. The space is efficiently designed and the price was worth it for all the other reasons. The front desk staff was very personable. We come here every year and I leave a review every year. This hotel is PERFECT for any stay in Garland!!
- jonathankO7142UF (4/5): If you want to be depressed about the travel in your life ... - This mini-hotel is on the sadder side of mediocrity. The "Tru" brand is Hilton's attempt to appeal to the Gen X, Y, and Z market. This hotel fails at that attempt. It comes across as patronizing: You just can't be urban hip next to highways in a suburban industrial and office park. The interior's strained faux-urban decor does not compensate for the lack of heat in my initial room, nor the whining refrigerator in my second room. The choice of salty snax - and only of salty snax and conventional candy bars - is what one expects to find in a gas station in Nowhere, Ohio rather than in an urban, trendy. But, if you need to be depressed about the travel in your life, then def stay here.
- Cyndal (3/5): I LOVE HILTON but they can keep TRU. It truly was a nightmare - Sockets did not work, facets leaked. We heard every move from behind the walls. Floors cracked as we walked. The noise upstairs was the worse. We had to get up early to drive out and got very little sleep. Loved the lobby. Parking was great and front desk tried as best they could. Love HILTON but maybe Im not a tru minimalist as I thought Build a better structure with adequate infrastructure and resources
- kim (10/5): -
- Derrick (10/5): Excellent value. Great customer service. Clean parking lot and facilities - Property was clean all around There was nothing negative I can come up with about my stay except maybe an ice machine on each floor.
- Jennifer (6/5): -
- DEVKUMAR (5/5): -
- Alicia (1/5): it was not the best - Was disappointed with the location this time around Stayed last year and nothing was the same, hotel was less clean, there was a smell in the room , cockroach’s in the room. The bathroom was as falling apart
- Cathy (10/5): I’ll be back next year. - It was close to the venue. The rooms were clean. The bed was comfortable. Getting out of the parking lot was tricky.
- Lea (6/5): The stay was pleasant, but I won't be staying at that location when I return to the area. - The breakfast was nice, good selection, and the temp of the hot food was good. The room was bright and clean. The pool was very cold. The area that looked like a hot tub was just as cold and was told that there was no way to warm it up.
The heating/ cooling unit kept blowing out cold air when I had the heat on. The temperature change was enough to wake me up in the middle of the night.
- Marvin Peatross (10/5): Awesome - Family friendly No microwave in room. Pool jacuzzi wasnt working
- Madnlock (6/5): 2 night Weekend Stay - We selected this hotel because we wanted a hotel with electric car charging near our son's place in Richardson. I checked in on the app and chose room 426. I had noticed someone commented room 425 across the hallway had water damage so I probably shouldn't have picked a room close by. We noticed water damage in the bathroom of room 426. The tile near the floor around the toilet is popping off and the wallpaper isn't adhered well. The footrest in the shower in cracking off. The bathroom has a slight mildew smell. The ceiling above the bed closest to the door has cracking that may be sheetrock damage from water. The window shade was broken and could not be raised. I reported all these problems at the front desk the day we were leaving. The room itself was on the small side but ok for 3 of us for 2 nights. There was a rack to hang clothes but no closet and no drawers. There was a small table that could be used as a desk. No coffee maker or microwave in the room but there was coffee and hot water with tea and cocoa packets available all day and night. There was a microwave in the lobby that was available to be used and our room had a small refrigerator. The two elevators were quick and we never waited long . The beds were comfortable and the room was cool and quiet but the pillows (3 per queen size bed) were a bit flat and lumpy. The breakfast was adequate. The hot items were scrambled eggs and pork sausage patties one morning and the next morning chicken sausage patties. There was a pancake machine and a toaster for bread and bagels. Grab and go containers of yogurt and milk were available. Boiled eggs, oranges and applies, a pot of oatmeal with toppings and cereal dispensers were other choices. The breakfast hours when we were there Saturday and Sunday morning were 7a to 10a. There were hand soap and lotion dispensers by the sink and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner dispensers mounted in the shower. You had to squeeze the sides to dispense the product and I would think this might be hard for a child to do by himself.
- Ganna (10/5): Very good - Clean, quiet, comfortable and easy to access
- Rose (10/5): - Location was perfect for family birthday at Reel across freeway. Ihop family breakfast before leaving Walmart shopping. Room was very comfortable love the shower. Love the pool table and other accommodation N/A no complaints
- Darlene (3/5): Dissatisfied - Building was clean Hot tub not working and filthy. Pool not very clean. Toilet in room not flushing like it should. Bed was hard. Breakfast wasn't great. Bagels tasted sour. It said pumpkin and spice pancakes but wasn't, just plain. Apple juice tasted like water with a tinge of apple, not good orange juice. Wasn't even asked how was our stay. Would not stay there again.

- Jaquelynn (10/5): - Na
- Carmen (2/5): - Our room was excellent, the bed was comfortable
- Amber (3/5): I will probably never stay there again. - It had an indoor pool! That our room wasn’t cleaned and ready and that the front desk was handing out free drinks to employees. I noticed their quantity on hand was probably off because there was nothing to buy, food or drink wise.
There was a used condom on the ground out side the hotel. My son asked what it was.
- Jeff (6/5): - Room a bit musty smelling. Bed not comfortable. Linens thin
- Maria (10/5): - Great room very clean the breakfast could be little better but other than that I enjoyed my stay.
- Courtney (10/5): - Clean rooms, helpful staff, and in a safe area.
- Crisanto (10/5): - the hotel is pretty new and clean and you can see them cleaning all the time. Also pet friendly, as you walk through the door they have water bowls for dogs. I appreciate the room was minimal carpet and clean because we took our small dog with us. The area is new and upscale and all the new restaurants are there across George Bush Hwy. Also close is Firewheel town center which has a cinema, shopping and more dining. Will come back again to this hotel.
- Darryl (6/5): Not Great - Desk clerk absent when I arrived. Waited 5+ minutes. Clerk so quiet I clouldn't hear them. Room small. AC great. Bed comfortable. TV didn't receive half the stations, and small number it did were pixelated. Couldn't log in to wifi without extended registration. Had to leave the room to get water. Motel 6 would have been cheaper and likely better.
- Tefera (1/5): ROACHES!!!! - ROACH INFESTED!!! ROACHES.
- Camacho (9/5): -
- Alva (4/5): Disappointing property, helpful employees. - Nice front desk employee, processed refund quickly. First room I checked into smelled musty and bed was dirty, transferred to another room that also smelled musty and happened to make me sneeze nonstop. Thankful they were able to give me a refund because I couldn’t stay there.
- Dina (8/5): - New, Modern and clean. Staff helpful. My only comment was that they clean the room everyother day and they did not mention this when we checked in. We were under the impression that the room would be cleaned and the towels will be changed, and we came late at night finiding our room not cleaned. There was no one answering the service line. other thn that, the property is nice and clean, staff were friendly and price was very reasonable to the service provided. Would stay there again and would recommend it.
- Thao (10/5): -
- Julie (10/5): - Great stay for the price
- Channon (10/5): -
- Terry (8/5): Different kind of Hilton - The elevators and hallway (2nd floor) smelled bad. I was surprised as it was not the typical Hilton that I enjoy. It reminded me of a bare bones hotel - very minimal.
- HotSpringsVillage69 (6/5): OK For Budget Hotel, But Room 425 Needs Maintenance - We have stayed several times at the Tru in Rockwall which is actually older than this Tru which is why I was surprised by the poor condition of room 425. There has been a leak in the roof coming into the ceiling of one corner of the room which has been poorly repaired. There evidently is still moisture and possibly mold above because the room smells musty. My husband called it a diaper smell. If you keep the a/c and fan running it is not as noticeable. Also, the footrest in the shower is breaking off and looks bad. It's not anything you want to put your foot on. I am not sure if this is an easy fix or if the entire shower unit must be replaced. The rest of the hotel looks pretty good for the price point. The breakfast is actually better than the Tru in Rockwall. The staff also were very pleasant. This hotel does have a high volume of guests so I'm guessing the rooms have received a lot of hard use. However, it is the management's responsibility to make sure each room is maintained properly and in good repair. I have made a note to not stay in room 425 until these issues are taken care of.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not so nice stay - The hallway was hot and smelled rank as did the room. We had to spray air freshener.
There were tiles from the baseboard in the bathroom just sitting on the floor. The AC sounded like it had water running through it and one of the shades was broken.
- Yuenyun (8/5): -
- Don (9/5): Great hotel - Hotel was sharp and room super comfy. We liked the shelving and places to store our gear. Bed was extremely comfortable. Also liked the shower instead of a tub. Breakfast was very good the first day and average the second. Odd and not sure why. Weak coffee and so-so eggs. Location was perfect for our needs. Clean facilities and friendly staff! After an above average breakfast on our first day, quite disappointed with the food on the second day.
- Judith (10/5): - Will definitely stay again when traveling that way!!! Staff was amazing!!
