AFAK25 (10/5): Thanks Sofitel! - Within walking distance to my office in CBD which is a huge plus point. Each evening after work I would return to the room expecting some little surprises and I wasn't disappointed. Different types of teas, towel arts and flower bouquets by the housekeeping, water in cartons. It's the little things that Sofitel does that made the stay memorable. Kudos to the housekeeping team. I felt like I was taken care by benevolent fairy godmothers. The only downside is the breakfast restaurant which in my opinion has less choice especially for Muslim travellers.

The hotel gym was very basic (althought with a nice view to a sky garden) - there is a proper commercial gym in the same complex that some room types have access to. Rooms were very new and spacious.
Beulah (9/5): Great hotel, could improve here and there. - Location was great, superb amenities both inside and outside of the hotel room. The breakfast spread was incredible and so was the pool. Overall everything is excellent. Entrance can be quite confusing if you're coming from the train, and from the outside it's also not clearly marked. I should've loved windows that actually open as opposed to being forced to use the AC. The jacuzzi is also not a hot water jacuzzi it just has jets but still cold.
Oz_Bloke169 (10/5): Our go-to in Singapore — and we will not be changing that any time soon - From the moment we arrived, the Sofitel Singapore City Centre set the tone for an exceptional stay. The room was simply amazing — spacious, beautifully appointed, and everything you could want from a five-star property. The staff throughout the hotel were wonderfully friendly and genuinely attentive. In the Club Lounge, Langfrey stood out as a true professional — remembering our preferences without being asked, and making us feel like valued guests every single day. Breakfast was a real highlight. Brilliantly laid out with an impressive variety of choices, the egg station was a particular favourite — omelettes cooked to individual taste, and quite honestly some of the best we have had in a very long time. A special mention must go to our housekeeper, Hong Liang, who was simply outstanding. He kept our room immaculate throughout our stay, and one morning left us the most charming surprise — a little dog crafted from hand towels. A small gesture, but one that genuinely made our day. The hotel's location is a real bonus. Just a five-minute walk from the MRT station, getting around Singapore could not be easier or more affordable. We travelled from Changi Airport to the hotel for just S$6 — compared to S$40 or more by taxi. A genuine godsend for exploring the city. Singapore's MRT network makes market-hopping incredibly easy. Here are the best ones to visit: Bugis Street Market — with over 600 stalls selling fast fashion, quirky accessories, and budget buys, this is one of the most popular stops. Right next to Bugis MRT station. Chinatown Street Market — the iconic Chinatown Street Market is a must, with Smith Street lined with stalls selling festive snacks, lanterns, home accessories, and Chinese outfits. Exit at Chinatown MRT. Maxwell Food Centre — very close to Maxwell MRT station, with very well priced food excellent in quality — famous for its Hainanese Chicken Rice. Tekka Centre (Little India) — located just a few steps from the nearest MRT station, Tekka Centre is the jewel of Little India, with vendors displaying a dazzling range of fresh produce — spices, mutton, tropical fruits — plus hawker food stalls upstairs for famous dishes like roti prata and biryani. Geylang Serai Market — a gem for authenticity, from traditional batik wear to fresh seafood and lemongrass-infused drinks, reflecting Singapore's strong Malay and Indonesian heritage. Exit at Aljunied MRT. Tiong Bahru Market — a retro market in the historical Tiong Bahru estate, a favourite among locals for high-quality vegetables, seafood, and a brilliant hawker centre upstairs. Lau Pa Sat — a majestic Victorian architecture market with legendary satay street that comes alive after dark — eat skewers under fairy lights while the CBD skyline glows behind you. Exit at Raffles Place MRT. Mustafa Centre (Little India) — a labyrinthine department store that never sleeps — from perfume to pashminas, Apple Watches to ayurvedic shampoos, it's all here and often cheaper than anywhere else. Shopping at 3am? Why not. Exit at Farrer Park MRT. The Sofitel Singapore City Centre ticks every box: stunning rooms, exceptional and personalised service, outstanding food, and a location that puts the whole of Singapore at your doorstep. We will absolutely be returning — this is now our Singapore home away from home. Highly recommended without reservation.
jay786750 (8/5): A reliable quality experience, every time - Stayed here for my third time in as many years and it does not disappoint. Located above the MRT, it offers great access to the local areas of Chinatown but also the more local markets (including a wet market). The hotel is famed for its teddy bears in the foyer but for me, it's the quality of their breakfast offering, the friendliness of the staff, and the access to the Virgin Active gym (based on room type and/or Accor membership level) which really make this place a standout. The gym is mighty and has a lot of add-ons like the salt room, steam room etc cold plunge. The local area is great for walking and you can find little bars and pubs which wouldn't turn up on any website. There is a laundromat nearby too for longer stays (I stay about 10 days each time). Down side? The Club Millesime has inexplicably been placed to the left of the lifts seemingly between conference rooms which is a bit of a buzzkill. You can hear the final throes of a day-long conference with muffled mic sounds, or the beginnings of a dinner, and you're kind of just sat between that and the staff kitchen, eating your snacks! The food is good and I encourage you to pace yourself so you still have room to go out and eat locally because it's that good in here. Oddly enough, the food got better in terms of quality and quantity when they relocated. In the usual location (level 6 i think) it was ok but very much canapes only. You had to go out and eat afterwards. The foyer cafe discounts pastries after 3pm and that's when they become a bit more affordable but to be honest, the food court downstairs on the MRT level is great and local choice (and supermarkets) are everywhere. Really recommend this hotel!

AussieItchyFeet_13 (10/5): Wonderful hospitality, great location - This was our first stay at this hotel, but will not be our last. Most especially we found the hospitality extended by the customer service team, exceptional - especially Ms Jani Harris. It was a difficult time for us for personal reasons and the hotel went above and beyond to support us and make our stay enjoyable. The hotel's location is superb, walking distance to China Town and right on top of the metro (just leave yourself a few minutes to figure out exactly how to find things underground). The hotel also has so many 'little' design features in the room that make such a big difference, for example being able to prop the room door open (so useful for moving bags etc) plus a filtered water tap in the bathroom (may not apply in all rooms?) and excellent lighting options. These might seem to be small things but they add up to a very pleasant stay. We recommend this hotel

sadjadf (4/5): Self-service feel at five-star rates - Four nights with family in April 2026. The location is convenient and the rooms themselves are fine, but service throughout the stay fell well short of what a Sofitel should deliver. In feel, the property came across more as a self-service boutique hotel than a hands-on five-star. Specific issues: • Housekeeping — the in-room teapot used on our first evening was left unwashed and remained visibly soiled across multiple subsequent daily services. • Check-out — three calls to guest services to arrange luggage collection, with the second explicitly flagging urgency. After a 40-minute wait with no one attending, I brought the bags down myself. • Breakfast — several buffet items were labeled with the previous day's date, suggesting recycled product between services. Any one of these is forgivable; together they paint a picture of inconsistent execution that doesn't square with the Sofitel name or the rates the property commands. For a family holiday, we'd look elsewhere next time.
dxb_travelsmart (8/5): Good but not great - During our second week in Singapore, the Sofitel city center was our home away from home. The hotel is very modern and stylish. We had a suite and a connecting double room. Both rooms were spacious, modern and in good shape, very good rooms overall. The millesieme lounge was good with a decent selection of food but not quite up to the level of other 5 star properties in SG in terms of food variety and quality but still good. Gym is small and with very little equipment outside cardio machines. The real letdown for me was the restaurant. There is only one main restaurant which is simply too little choice for a hotel of that category. The adjacent bar had some food too but very basic and quality was at best average (eg our burgers came rare even though clearly ordered as medium-well) The main restaurant for breakfast has good selection of food, quality only ok though with slow and inefficient service. For dinner, service was better but menu choice quite limited and not much variety. The dishes we had were ok nothing more than that. Would we return, probably not given the vast choice of hotels of that category in SG

IMJ (9/5): Comfortable, central, great pool. - Very comfortable hotel to stay at after an overnight flight from Europe. Good breakfast, gorgeous swimming pool, comfortable bed. The air conditioning was set very low and couldn't be adjusted. Although the hotel sent someone to fix it it didn't really improve, and other guests we met had the same problem. Hopefully not a permanent thing!

She is one of those that recruiters spend their time trying so hard to find- the empathetic servers who consider making customers happy as their own joy! TomBashir (10/5): Stilvoller Aufenthalt - Am besten gefallen haben uns die freundliche und aufmerksame Art des Personals, das wirklich versucht hat, jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Sehr schön fanden wir auch unser sauberes Zimmer im 18. Stock mit tollem Blick auf Chinatown und das Bankenviertel. Ein weiteres Highlight war für uns der Club Millésime mit Frühstück, Snacks, Tea Time, leckeren Appetizern sowie Cocktails, Wein und Champagner. Auch der Poolbereich mit Garten und Whirlpool war ein sehr angenehmer Ort zum Entspannen. Eigentlich hat uns insgesamt sehr wenig nicht gefallen. Wenn man überhaupt etwas nennen möchte, dann höchstens, dass man sich an das hohe Niveau des Clubs und des Restaurants sehr schnell gewöhnt und andere Angebote danach fast automatisch daran misst. Ansonsten hatten wir einen wirklich sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt ohne nennenswerte Kritikpunkte.

While no visitor ever complained about the rooms, breakfast at Racine or lunch has never been a highlight. Today we had breakfast with visitors at 1864. All egg benedict or Belgian waffles were cold. Bread basket arrived after 30+min. Strangely enough there were always staff hanging around doing nothing, in short: just avoid the F&B at Sofitel City Centre.
Weller63 (10/5): Oasis in Singapore - Stayed here for 4 nights before we moved to Raffles. Hotel was quiet and cool considering the heat outside. Our room was quiet and we paid for an upgrade to a Club room. Glad we did as we couldn't use the pool otherwise and it was a lovely area to relax in. We went to the Club area and got drinks to sip beside the pool. Breakfast and dinner was good. Plenty choice for breakfast and loved having cake for breakfast! The doormen were quick to take our luggage on arrival to our room and helping out with directions and taxis. No grumbles regarding the hotel - close to China Town. Recommended.

794babakt (10/5): Excellent hotel in fantastic location - Sofitel Singapore City Centre is of my favourite hotels globally. Large room (desk is large enough to work on), very fast internet, very good breakfast and room service (shout out to Ming Zhu who would place little towel animals in my room!). Good gym and direct access to Virgin Gyms. Very nice pool. Best of all for me is its location: walking distance to CBD, directly connected to Tanjong Pagar station and there lots of excellent little local restaurants less than 5 minutes away. I won’t stay anywhere else in Singapore.

Ich wollte große, saubere Zimmer, da wir 8 Nächte bleiben würden, und auch Frühstück und Lage spielten eine große Rolle ich wollte eine zentrale Lage. Das Sofitel City Centre hat alles übertroffen. Unser normales Zimmer war riesig, sauber und auf einem wirklich hohen Standard ich war positiv überrascht, da ich bei Sauberkeit sehr kritisch bin. Der Aufenthalt war einfach perfekt. Die Lage des Hotels ist ideal: Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar, und die Metrostation liegt weniger als eine Minute entfernt. Unter dem Hotel gibt es ein Starbucks und mehrere kleine Restaurants für ein schnelles Mittagessen. Das Frühstück war inklusive und wirklich hervorragend, mit einer großen Auswahl. Ich würde dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen das Personal ist herzlich, der Concierge sehr hilfsbereit, und alles ist perfekt organisiert. Vielen Dank für diesen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt!

DrewJones (10/5): Great hotel with amazing staff - WE had a unplanned stay here due to a flight issue, it meant a very early arrival and two tired and (almost) grumpy travellers. The staff were amazing form check in to checkout and I can not say anything that truly does them credit. I see some reviews don't like location etc, this comes down to doing research first, for us the location is great, above a train station and walking distance to many shops, but we are not real shoppers and happy with local options. The food was excellent, Club was good (although in a temporary arrangement) and I flt it was value for what I paid. In club I make a special mention to both Zoey and Julius, Abel on the front desk and Haryani as Guest Relations Manager - these staff made out stay special and took a stressful time for us and turned it in to a joyful one. I am planning a return stay on my next trip to Singapore as the staff made this hotel truly great.

Ian (1/5): This is the first time I have ever had issues with staff at a hotel in the 20+ hotels I have stayed at. - Hotel interior beautiful and clean. Neighborhoods very nice. Cleaning staff also nice. Staff was cold, inhospitable, and inflexible. I was offered minimal flexibility on early check in and late check out. I arrived around 1pm extremely tired and was resting in a chair while waiting for my room. Was told by staff that I could sit but not “sleep”. Then I was told by another member of staff 20 minutes later that this was the “bar area” and that I had to move to another chair in the same room while 80% of the seating in the room was still unoccupied. I had two other similar but more minor interactions with staff to total 5 negative interactions with different members of staff. Bedsheets also felt plasticy.

Enjoyed their built-in filter water system available in the bathroom! However, the staff's professionalism & kindness did not match 5-star quality nor their restaurant for our breakfast as it was quite chaotic every morning for 3 x breakfasts we had where food & drinks would often vanish and we had to keep asking staff for top-ups which I did not expect to make such requests multiple times at a 5-star hotel.

Magnum1937 (10/5): A Perfect Stay at the Sofitel SIngapore City Centre! - The Sofitel Singapore City Centre is by far one of the best destination hotels when staying in Singapore. Our recent experience celebrating a milestone wedding anniversary has prompted this review as the hotel and stay was truly an exceptional and memorable one for all the right reasons. The Hotel really has everything one could ask for, from the location, the atmosphere generally, value for money, room cleanliness, service through to amenities. Of particular note was the team's outstanding display of leadership and overall meticulous efforts in not only making my wife and I feel incredibly welcome, but allowing us to soak in all the spoils offered to make our entire stay perfectly enjoyable! From the moment of arrival and the welcoming and helpful staff in the foyer, through to the faultless check in process and then beyond, was nothing short of seamless. The attention to detail, kindness and generosity in particular that of Yani, Director of Guest Relations who personally oversaw the majority of our stay and later, Saiful, Front Office Manager was evident at each and every turn, from the most minor of touches to the bigger wonderful surprise gestures. These exceptional and caring individuals and in fact every staff member we encountered for that matter, took genuine pride in their work and had only guest satisfaction in mind. For us personally all were available and responsive and met each and every one of our needs expeditiously and diligently (and with a smile). We could not have been happier. None of this would have been possible without the incredible leadership and presence of the Hotel's General Manager, Jacqueline and the Hotel Manager Marco. They were both incredibly generous and knowledgeable individuals, displaying a genuine desire to make our stay all the more comfortable and are true assets to the Brand. They have no doubt been instrumental in shaping service excellence of the Sofitel brand to the high caliber it is today. Thank you to you both. I will end by giving special thanks to Langfrey and the team at the Club Lounge - simply excellent and attentive service on each and every occasion! Mark (9/5): Great place to stay in SGP! - Lovely place. I really liked the pool and gym. Breakfast also good. I’d stay there again. Nothing really - pricey, but that’s Singapore for you and this is a nice place.
Sarah (7/5): Nice hotel, but I won't be returning - Nice rooms, beds are comfortable. The staff try, but there's something lacking in the service standards when compared with similar 5 star hotels. Inability to problem solve and make common sense decisions. I didnt feel the experience was reflective of the cost.
Jayne (9/5): A beautifully appointed hotel in a fabulous location with wonderful staff. - The service throughout our stay was excellent. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was really beautiful, well-appointed, luxurious and spacious with an amazing view over China Town. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection. Location was brilliant, above an MRT and in the heart of China Town. The television in the room. We had to connect to our own streaming service which we were not concerned about, however the process was difficult and when we did finally connect, the sound continue to buffer making it impossible to watch. There appeared to be no other options to watch tv other than that. A minor issue but could have been better.

Gerardus (10/5): Prachtig luxe hotel op een perfecte locatie met muisstille kamers en heerlijke bedden. - Prachtig luxe hotel op een perfecte locatie. Leuke straatjes om de hoek (Duxton Rd etc), Chinatown op loopafstand, meerdere hawker centers in de omgeving (waaronder Lau Pa Sat) en letterlijk bovenop Tanjong Pagar MRT station gelegen. In 5 stops/15 mins sta je bijvoorbeeld al midden op Orchard Rd. Changi Airport ligt op 20/25 mins rijden, of je pakt de directe MRT verbinding. Het is hotel is niet te groot, je staat bijvoorbeeld nooit lang op een lift te wachten, en heeft een prachtig zwembad met leuke ligbedden. Zeer uitgebreid ontbijt met dagelijks wisselend aanbod. Onze standaard ('Luxury') King kamer was al heerlijk ruim, met een enorm bed wat superlekker lag. En de kamer was echt muisstil. We hebben zo lekker geslapen hier... Echt een hele fijne basis en rustpunt in de stad. We zijn hier in totaal 7 machten gebleven. Ja, het is niet goedkoop, maar ik zal voor een volgende keer niet eens naar een ander hotel kijken en meteen weer dit hotel reserveren.

It was a birthday celebration and Louise and Daeun was very helpful at the lobby reception. The hotel is wonderful, the staff standards more than world class. At the Lobby, Chris made the best cocktails and made our celebrations extra special. Will always choose sofitel city center

Lauren (10/5): Amazing hotel - can’t wait to go back. - Amazing location for our first visit to Singapore. Rooms were really nice and spacious - we even had a cot in ours for our 18 month old. Bed was so comfy!
pookybear91 (10/5): Top-Notch Service That Truly Stands Out - First time staying at this hotel for a 3D2N stay after reading many positive reviews online, and it truly did not disappoint. Perhaps due to the festive season, the hotel was fully booked and bustling with guests. Despite this, the service delivered was consistently top-notch. We were warmly welcomed and well attended to by Mr Airi upon arrival. As our room was not ready yet, we were invited to relax at the club lounge while waiting, which was a thoughtful gesture. To our pleasant surprise, simple Danish pastries were available all day at the club lounge, unlike some hotels that only offer cookies or biscuits. The club lounge team — Zoey, Julius, Sofie, and Shirley — were absolute gems. They were consistently attentive, accommodating, and genuinely cared for the guests’ experience. After a short wait, our room was ready at 2.30pm. Located on the 18th floor, it offered a lovely view of the surrounding heritage shophouses. The room was clean, decently sized, and elegantly designed. The TV had a good selection of cable channels, though it lacked Chromecast functionality. One minor downside was the bedroom slippers, which felt rather thin and flimsy — not quite what one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Afternoon tea, served between 3pm and 5pm, was slightly underwhelming. It followed an à la carte format with three items — typically two savoury options and one dessert. That said, refills were available upon request, which was a plus. The evening cocktail session (5.30pm to 7.30pm) was an improvement, though the variety remained limited. There were around four hot items accompanied by carbs such as rice or noodles, but the quality stood out. Food was self-served, while cocktails and champagne were ordered through the staff, and wines were self-service. Due to the club lounge’s limited seating capacity, guests arriving later were directed to the public lounge area at 1864 Bar, which was quite a distance away. While the team did their best, the high volume of orders understandably led to longer wait times or occasional missed orders. It might be worthwhile for the hotel to consider expanding or relocating the club lounge to a more suitable space. Additionally, as the lounge is located beside the ballrooms, it lacks a sense of privacy and exclusivity, especially during wedding events. Breakfast at the club lounge is served between 8am and 11am, while the main restaurant operates from 6.30am to 10.30am. On both mornings, we opted for the restaurant due to its wider variety, including a DIY noodle station. Overall, we were impressed by the consistently high service standards and would definitely return. A special shoutout to the front desk team, especially Mr Airi and Ms May, for their warm hospitality and professionalism, as well as the club lounge crew — Zoey, Julius, Langfrey, Sofie, and Shirley — for making our stay a memorable one.

Chose the ‘christmas-dinner’ it was very poor quality, empty dishes and little selection. Would rather eat at some streetfood. Not coming back.

Pemika (10/5): Excellent location, clean room, breakfast is fantastic! - Excellent location, very convenient to travel to any place as there are elevators that are directly connected to the metro. Room is spacious, clean, even with the bathtub. Breakfast is superb, variety of menu each day. The view of the restaurant is unbeatable. Reservations team replied all inquiries prior the stay very fast. I could say that somehow we felt like n love with this hotel. There was one point to comment to improve which is preparing pre-arrival arrangement. We booked and paid for the room for three and sent the message to reconfirm the number of bed which was reconfirmed by hotel staff that there would be one double bed with a rollaway bed. Upon check-in (we checked in about 5 pm), there was no extra bed setup and room amenities were setup only for two. After several follow ups with front desk, we got extra bed setup while we had been waiting in the room, and got the amenities for third guest after another call. This was a bit upset and uncomfortable. If this point can be improved, it would be flawless.

Nancy (10/5): - Comfortable rooms, attention to detail in service and housekeeping, great breakfast, nice pool, excellent location. My only minor complaint is that the cocktails are so tiny! For Singapore $25, the cocktails should be substantial instead of lilliputian.

Drinks were delicious and well priced for the happy hour but the highlight was the exceptional service from Germaine and Chris. They were friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel personalised. A cosy, classy spot to chill after dinner
