- webb (10/5): Best beach day spot Sayulita!!! - We spend our day visit here multiple times a year. The service and food is excellent. Just have to order a little food and drink and you get chairs table and unreal all day. The coconut shrimp, guacamole, tacos , chicken nachos, and drinks are fantastic! Super friendly service in prime beach location. Bonus is the clean bathroom and shower to clean and change at the end of your day!!!!!! Always a must to go here. Highly recommend!!!!!
- ToddTraveler40 (2/5): No! No! No! Hotels.com nor Hotel Peix Sayulita - This hotel is the worst place I’ve visited. I will not say the worst place I’ve “stayed,” because I left immediately and did not stay. Hotels.com cannot provide a refund, so I’ve lost $673.37 to this horrible experience. I had deleted the Hotels.com app from my phone many years ago; I had since forgotten the reason. After this weekend, my memories have returned, so this app has been once again deleted from my phone, never to return. But I digress … the review/facts at hand. My trip to Sayulita was a last-minute decision, with Hotels.com stating that the front desk is open daily from 10am to 9pm. Upon arriving, we could not determine how to get into the property, with only a large, wooden wall to stare at. The massage lady next door showed us how to lift one of the slats to reach inside and trigger the latch. Once the gate was opened, she called someone, with whom I spoke briefly, totally unaware of my reservation. The lady then escorted us up a rusty spiral staircase which creaked and swayed with each step. I kid you NOT! Once in the room, it was obvious that the photos online were not an accurate representation of the condition of said rooms, but I took a deep breath and went to eat. Upon returning an hour later, it was obvious that the air conditioning in my room would not work. The homeless man (he said), who let us in the wooden wall upon our return, was nice enough to tell us that no one would be around until the next day. Totally unacceptable for June in Mexico. I opened the now-deleted Hotels.com app and clicked “Contact the Property,” which dialed a number that rang multiple times and dropped. I then accessed the Customer Support chat, which worked well. Once I got past the robot questions, “Ahmed” began chatting with me, very pleasant and willing to assist. Ahmed relayed that they, too, could not reach anyone in charge of the hotel, so I requested a refund, grabbed my bags and left. I found another hotel around the corner … just a few dollars more but sooooo worth it! That’s another review you can check out! I will say the Hotels.com support group has emailed me a few times, keeping me abreast of the refund request in process. Today I received an email stating that they can not reach anyone at the hotel, hence my request for refund is denied. I do not give advice, only the facts of my experience. I will NEVER use Hotels.com again, and I definitely will never visit nor recommend Hotel Peix Sayulita.

- robertdR362AK (10/5): Great location - Great hotel right on the ocean, very short walk on the beach to get to the entrance. Friendly staff. Say hi to Adan, he will take great care to ensure you have a great time.
- Taylor (10/5): - Very cool property location right on the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend everyone experience this Sayulita hotel, true gem.
- Nancy (4/5): - Could be a very nice place if someone maintained it. Excellent location on the beach but owner needs to clean it up. Safe did not work, faucets loose, had to ask for towels and shampoo, metal staircase needs to be replaced.
- Jerry (4/5): - Great location in front of beach. Good and fresh food. Also close to restaurants and bars. Julio was great, above and beyond service
Rooms were in poor condition, some mold visible. Second day moved rooms, someone left water running and flooded our room around 2:30 am. No compensation was offered. Paid for a different hotel and left after only two days.
- Gabe (2/5): Stay away - Far Away - This was my 4th stay here since 2016. Always enjoyed my trips..but Without question this was the worst hotel stay of my life. The cockroach that scurried across my bare leg as i laid in bed one morning insured that. Place is dilapidated and disgusting. Stains all over the walls/drapes/floors. Rooms are now filthy. Bottle caps were on the floor in my room from day one. TV did not work. Bedding had no top sheet, there were holes in walls. there was no soap dispenser or even shampoo in the room. The safes were broken in both rooms i was in. I am not 100% sure they even cleaned rooms after guest leave. Best location on the beach by FAR…But in the last few yrs has become totally neglected. I get that it is likely being sold/torn down but the amt of neglect is totally unacceptable. To be fair though they did provide a bottle of shampoo (likely left by another guest) and towels once requested. Stay away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok for the cost - While the hotel could greatly benefit from some renovation and reinvestment of profits into its facilities, its prime location cannot be overstated. With its central position, guests enjoy easy access to nearby attractions and amenities. However, there's certainly room for improvement in terms of the hotel's upkeep and modernization efforts.
- Gabriel (6/5): Not like it use to be.....
- Ricardo (10/5): - Right on the beach beautiful view !!!
- kirk (8/5): Artist - My stay was amazing. the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are simple and clean; no thrills, just a convenient comfortable place to rest your head, and enjoy the sight (if you have a view) and sounds of the ocean. The only thing missing or could use were lamps in the bedroom
- suzette (4/5): - Not a good place to stay. The cleaning person only came one day of our 7 day stay and literally left the door open (not just unlocked) when she left. She did not sweep, clean toilets, leave toilet paper, change linens, take out the trash, or give us towels, but she did make the bed. It is basically a youth hostel and it is falling apart. Rusting stair railing, and broken door jamb on our room. One of the neighbors played music with a heavy beat until 5:30am every night. I wish I could be more positive about the hotel because it is a beautiful location.
- Adrian (10/5): - They do a great job :)
- William j (4/5): - Noisy, owners didn't care
- Stephanie (6/5): Great location - You are paying for location. Location was great- right on the beach. The room itself is very minimal. There was barely any soap in the shower and only two pillows on the bed. We stayed one night which was fine but multiple nights might have been rough.
- jbs_sbs (4/5): Great view...less-than-great room - My wife and I had a less-than-ideal experience at Hotel Peix. I’m not necessarily warning you against staying there (there are good reasons to stay there, including the perfect view from your balcony). However, the glowing reviews that gave me the confidence to book a room at Hotel Peix should be contextualized so you can make a more informed decision than we did. This is a rustic property. For instance, the walls had visible water stains on them; ants were crawling in the sink; the staircase was steep, narrow, and rusty; the pillowcases were threadbare and stained; and (most importantly) there was not a floor-to-ceiling wall between the shower/toilet and the bedroom. If you’re OK with those things, I recommend giving it a try for an excellent beach view.
Unfortunately, we then experienced a few other challenges (perhaps not typical) that caused us to vacate our room and move to a nearby hotel on the first night. As most travelers do, we carry valuables that we prefer to store in a safe place. When we asked for a key to the safe in our room, we were told they didn’t have one but would look for one. We didn’t receive a key to the safe. We were less willing to open our sliding glass door at night without a safe. Though I have no reason to believe our balcony neighbors weren’t trustworthy, there was little preventing them from entering our room if we left our sliding glass door open. Because we weren’t willing to leave our door open (and enjoy the ocean breeze), we had to turn to the air conditioning unit to cool our room with the doors closed. Unfortunately, it was not functional, and upon inspection, the night staff determined that it could not be repaired. Since we didn’t feel safe sleeping with our door open and knew we couldn’t sleep in a hot, stuffy room, we vacated the room at 11 pm and found what we felt was a safer and more comfortable situation just a block away (Hotel Sayulinda). Per the Hotel Peix policy, they have declined to refund any portion of our stay (per Hotels.com) despite being unable to deliver basic security or comfort. If you choose to stay there, I recommend managing your expectations related to comfort and security (in exchange for an excellent ocean view). We hoped Hotel Peix would turn out to be a gem. But we won’t be booking this property again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Great ocean view. Not-so-great experience. - The glowing reviews that gave me the confidence to book a room here didn’t tell the full story. This property is rustic: water-stained walls, ants crawling in the sink, a steep, narrow, rusty staircase, stained threadbare pillowcases, and no floor-to-ceiling wall between the shower/toilet and the bedroom. If you’re OK with those things, Give it a try for an excellent beach view.

- Jennifer (8/5): - It has a unique charm. There is no bathroom door - it’s just part of the bedroom. We had a great ocean view balcony. The towels and sheets did not look particularly clean. The hotel was hard to find at night - we had to walk on the beach and guess where the door was. Staff was friendly enough and check in/check out was easy. The margaritas were good and it was nice to be able to use the hotel’s loungers on the beach (otherwise you have to pay). You can hear music all night - bring ear plugs. We felt safe there because the door to the hotel is completely locked at night.
- Magdalena (2/5): - The photos on the website and the reviews were very misleading. This place is a complete dump. I stayed two days and didn't get a wink if sleep due to the loud music next door. Sounded like I had a mariachi band in my room 24/7! It's now 6 am and it sounds like music on full blast in my room. Ear plugs will not help! The room is dirty, outdated, paint peeling, water damage, it smells in here. I paid for the ocean view and thought I would listen to the waves at night but you can't hear them at all due to the music next door. This stay has been absolute torture. Thanks Expedia for the fake reviews and photos, you have ruined my vacation.
- Barbara (2/5): - The only thing this hotel has going for it is the beachfront location. The entrance is difficult to find at night and you have to drag your bag over sand to get there. Paint was peeling off the wall of our room, there was no separate bathroom, just a half-wall, the bed was lumpy and the room was never cleaned. The inside courtyard is a dirt patch with debris strewn about. Although it’s not the hotel’s fault, music blares on the beach until 5 am. I have no idea how it rates itself any stats, let alone 2.
- Jan (2/5): - Hi
We chose Peix Hotel for the venue in the beach.
The safe did not work and we had to keep our passports and cash with us making turns to swim.
The manager informed us it be fixed next day, never happened and told other guest the same story.
We had no hot water for 24 hours and was told it is his Sunday he could not fix.
Killed 2 cockroaches at night although we had no food in apartment.
Night time loud bass drumming from beach area neighbouring hotel we could not sleep.
Floor tile balcony lifted up broken cut my foot, concerns as the deck would collapse in future.
NO WIFI in the rooms, you have to sit downstairs to get WIFI
WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS HOTEL
- jeffrey (10/5): - The best location for surfing and beach life
- Omar (2/5): - Super rundown and fairly dirty
- Holly (8/5): - An affordable property on the beach. Cannot beat the location. It was quieter than expected but still noisy on the weekend. We expected the noise as it is in the heart of sayulita and proximity was excellent to both north end, downtown and beaches. It is in need of some maintenance and we didn’t always have hot water but overall good value for the money.
- Scotty (8/5): - great location, friendly staff. the Massages were top notch in back yard area of hotel
- Laurie (6/5): - The owner of this Hotel is awesome and Julio was super helpful. This property is located on the beach and next to several clubs. It is not quiet and the music goes all night. I had issues with going up and down a very steep spiral staircase to my room. The food is delicious, particularly the ceviche and drinks are generous. This place is definitely not fancy and doesn’t have amenities. The massage therapist in the back of the hotel is amazing!!
- Rosemary (6/5): - The view cannot be beat, lovely view of the ocean. You’re downtown so music all night long. The room was never clean while we were there.
- marcello (10/5): - We had the best time. Right on the beach and seconds away from center plaza. The staff is great! Can’t wait to go back.
- Ali (8/5): - The only thing was the loud music till late night. Which I believe all hotels in that location should have same issue . Other than that it was a nice hotel right on beautiful Sayulita beach also walking distance to all center location and actions.
- nick (10/5): - Nice beach front hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are clean, views are incredible, and the food is good, especially the breakfast potato’s.
- Larry (6/5): - Noise at 1am to 8am loud beyond tolerance
- John (10/5): - Great place
- Cameron (4/5): - Good location
- Ivanna (10/5): - Right on the beach. Amazing views from the top ocean front room. Bathroom is open and you can rinse off looking at the surf. I would come back a million times. Very simple and unpretentious place, just what you’d expect.
- Michael B (8/5): - Good location. Nice owner. Good food.
- Alberto (4/5): - I stayed here for 3 days and my room was never cleaned. There was no water on my last day there so I had to leave Sayulita without showering. The tv wasn’t working and the bathroom in the room has no privacy because it’s alll one big room The staff wasn’t friendly or helpful at all, I’ve never felt more unwelcome in a hotel. Won’t be staying here again.
- I5066BRchrisv (10/5): Funky, friendly with the smallest lobby to beach distance ever! - The most beachfront hotel you could ever want! The lobby/bar literally steps out onto the sand! Very funky, more authentic, lower star hotel but the staff (shoutout to Adan) are friendly, helpful and the food and drinks are great! Quick walk to town and everything, beach service, some rooms have balconies overlooking the bay.
- Christopher (10/5): - This is our favorite place to stay In Sayulita. The staff is amazing, beach front views, location is perfect, drinks, food, everything is great. This place is a surfer paradise. I will admit if you are looking for a luxury hotel this is not it. The bathroom/shower/bed is an open layout and hotel is a little bit older. Also it is a party town and you can hear music all night since you are next to everything. Always book beach views that is the best part of the hotel sitting on your patio and watching the most beautiful sunsets. We have been here a couple times and can’t wait to be back.
- MkSln (10/5): Great Sayulita Ocean Front Hotel - We booked a 1 night stay for our day trip and it was perfect! Hotel was nice and clean. It came with beach loungers and umbrella. It was very convenient to have our hotel ocean front so when we were done swimming in the ocean, it was easy to go clean up. We ordered margaritas, which were awesome! Equally as awesome were enchiladas, ceviche tostadas and french fries!! All of the food was so delicious and the service was great!! Looking forward to returning! Loved it!
- Luz (8/5): - So the only thing nice of this place is the view to the beach . Ran out of hot water . Nothing in the room but towels . Stairs are scary because they loose .on the terrace no shade to chill. Staff was very friendly and helpful gracias Javier.
- DeLynn (8/5): - Great location on the beach, walkable to everything. Rooms are nice, but do have open bathrooms. Great price.
Be aware there is zero parking, we parked anout a 1/2 mile away and had to carry our luggage the whole way. We paid about $45 for 3 days. There is no pool but ocean is right there. Somewhat noisy at night due to being so close to bars.
Hotel owner very nice.
- Ricardo (8/5): - Nice place, close to beach. No hit aatee for shower. No privacy when using restroom, do to open restroom in the room.
- Darren Mark (10/5): - The staff were friendly and very accommodating! Food was excellent! Room was comfortable! Would definitely stay again!
- neal (10/5): - The hotel is in the center of everything. The view is amazing. The value is great.
- Derek (10/5): - Great, quaint little 2-star hotel. No frills, no pool and noisy at night; however, it is right on the beach in Sayulita and in the middle of all the action (hence the noise). Wonderful staff. Excellent value for the low price point.
- Lizeth (6/5): - Bedding was stained and towels were ripped and stained. Hot water not available at night.
Everyone was friendly and respectful.
- N2409RBannied (10/5): Adun Rivera & Hotel Peix -
This hotel deserves all the hype. Right on the beach, inexpensive, free beach set ups with umbrella and chairs and awesome food. My boyfriend and I are surfers and the main break was directly in front of hotel peix which was super convenient. There are board rentals directly next to the hotel as well. I felt so safe staying here and never worried about non guests roaming around the hotel because the staff was alert and the hotel is locked at night. The super star of hotel piex is Adun Rivera. Adun knew all the guests by name and always made you feel welcome. He takes so much pride in the hotel and their service. He set my boyfriend and I up on a boat tour and frequently checked in with us to make sure everything was perfect about our trip. We enjoyed visiting so much that we will definitely return to sayulita and cannot imagine staying anywhere else! Thank you to Adun and the amazing staff at hotel peix!

- Caphyra (10/5): Bright, airy…let there be sand between your toes and ginger margaritas - Laid back surfers are not the only ones who want direct access to the beach in the day, plus the soothing sound of waves at night. I am happy with my corner room facing the ocean and it is simple and comfortable with a charming balcony overlooking the beach. Airy bright room, good shower.
Everyone who works here is friendly and welcoming. The ginger margarita is divine. On some nights there is louder music next door until early hours but not every night and it is manageable if you are prepared. There is a narrow spiral staircase so if you don’t like that best to ask for a lower floor. Near to all the fun shopping and restaurants. It is also useful to be staying on the beachfront so you can relax and enjoy it without having to rent a chair and lug all your things here!
NB. Important if you haven’t figured it out …but parking is a huge challenge in Sayulita so bringing a rental car is not necessarily the best option if staying here. Taxis are nearby.
- Troy (8/5): - Hotel Peix has an amazing location. The view of the beach and waves were incredible. We'd open up the patio doors before sun up and welcome the day every morning. The room was nice as well. Top notch for the hot showers
T
- Noel (10/5): - the hotel has the perfect set up, the restaurant downstairs is excellent and staff is amazing. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
- Lindsley (10/5): - Julio was very welcoming and accommodating. Cannot beat the vibe or view from the ocean view rooms! We’ll be back for longer next time.
- BOB (10/5): - Very centrally located. The staff was so nice. Julio was very helpful. Accommodations are very minimal but everything you need and Very clean.
- Brenda (10/5): - Excellent staff service. Best food ever
- Kathy (10/5): - My husband and I stayed for 5 nights! It had the best location. This is a no frills hotel, that has the best staff, location and food! No complaint about the drinks either!
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK - Was OK but wouldn't stay here again. Comfortable beds. Tiny outdoor spiral staircase to get to all rooms. Awkward and difficult. Restaurant great though.
- Ricky (10/5): - This place is special, will always come back here and I have been 3 times already.
- Hannah (10/5): - First time in Sayulita. Fantastic stay from the moment we checked in to when we checked out. Manager and staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooftop patio is a must see. Right on the beach, close to everything you need. Would stay here again, no doubt.
If you’re interested in surfing, the Sayulita surf school next door (literally) is incredible with 2 brothers running the show. Must do if you’re in Sayulita.
- Sean (10/5): - Friendly staff, right on the beach
- sharon (6/5): - Room small and no separate bathroom
- Pamela (10/5): - Excellent location!
- Belen (10/5): - I loved staying here! The place was clean, and the staff was accommodating. It is loud at night, but it wasn’t an issue for us. The wall between the bed and bathroom is very short. I’m 5’8, and the wall was below my chest.
- Laura (10/5): - Wonderful stay, cannot wait to come back!
- Daniel (8/5): Can't beat the view! - Loved the location, couldn't be better. Room was "ok", needed some upgrading - something dirty on the ceiling - no hot water. The lightbulb outside our door was out, asked staff to replace it - never happened. That said, the Owner/Manager and staff were super nice...we'd stay there again...you can't beat the ocean view room and porch.
- R5871GBtracyh (10/5): Awesome - While we didn’t stay there we ate at the restaurant several times. The best was when the chef cooked our fresh caught mahi mahi. Meal and service were both amazing! Always love this place. Gus is so kind and friendly. Makes everyone feel like family.
- 547christac (4/5): Not worth the hassle! - Showed up and was sent up to a dirty room, came back - room was not cleaned properly, they got angry when I asked it to be cleaned again and had to show them exactly, so I wiped the surfaces and cleaned the toilet myself!!!!
The room wasn’t cleaned properly for 2 days! Then some of the staff tried to get into it with me for the rest of the trip!
Gus, one of the owners says, Credit card machine is down…beware it is a scam! They tried to get me to pay through PayPal…thank god it didn’t work because they tried to over charge me and I finally paid after some strong words to reduce the price “less pesos” on a clip kinda like square on the owners phone that magically appeared, with my visa…!
Be prepared to pay in pesos and make sure the conversion rate he uses is in your favour and you double check the math.
This place is sketchy - sure the beach and view is nice, but paper thin walls, questionable staff, loud at night, no hot water…
Not worth the hassle, especially for female solo travellers!
- Christa (2/5): - They sent me up to a dirty room from the precious guests, literally not cleaned at all for 2 days, and I had to ask them to clean it many times for my stay.
Most staff was not friendly, and kinda creepy.
I couldn’t pre pay on expedia.
They said the credit card machine was down and tried to get me to use paypal - thank god it didn’t work because the price was too high and he tried to rip me off.
Be prepared to pay in pesos, and make sure you do the math, and get a good exchange rate from them, or you will get ripped off, and they will pretend they didn’t.
Yeah sure the beach and view are awesome, but walls are paper thin, the property has debris all around it, and its super loud in the evening.
Never staying again, not worth the hassle, and female solo travellers have your guard up, especially when it comes to payment.
- Tyler (10/5): - Great property, great location, friendly staff. Bar and Food on the ground level. Beautiful views and centrally located.
- aliciaannchapman (10/5): Five Stars for a Two Star Hotel! - We expected a basic but comfortable boutique hotel on the beach, and got exactly what we wanted. The location, views, service, food, and value were all great. We spent a few days in a big resort in PV before finishing our trip in Sayulita, and found it much more relaxed and low-key, which we preferred.
- Linda (6/5): - I loved the rooftop even though not it was not in shape as before the hurricane on 10/24/22. I did not mind and practiced yoga every morning, early, before anyone was up and moving. I also watched the sun set every night. The beach access was wonderful for walking and restaurants. The staff was friendly. The music from El Patio, a bar nearby on the beach, played very loud music until early morning hours. I told Ernesto and he said others were complaining also. The music went until mid nite after he talked to them. I will not stay there again on my next trip to Sayulita.
- Gary (6/5): - Great location right on the beach, best view of the surf hands down, very convenient if you're a surfer.
However, my stay was unfortunately not the most pleasant the first night, as the venue next door decided to hold it's annual holiday party for the beach vendors (every December apparently). It was ungodly loud until 4am, even ear plugs were of no use. I could feel the thumping bas (room 8). it was hell and the worst experience I've ever had to endure. management merely offered me a shot of tequila as condolences the following day, when that evening's stay should have been comped.
As for the room itself, I knew what to expect from other reviews, (about the bathroom being open), tho felt even more sparse considering there wasn't even a spot to hang the toilet paper.
The lighting of the room felt sterile and cold (wrong bulb temperature), which made it even more apparent that the room was still "under renovations" as there was white wall repair spackle all along the top of all the walls. Hopefully they found time to paint after my stay.
and even more comical was that if I placed anything inside the dresser, the drawers wouldn't stay closed and would open up on its own.
Really would be a nice place if they invested a bit back into it. But then again, it was still a great price and I might consider staying again, provided the band isn't playing next door.
- David (10/5): - You cannot be any closer to the Beach! Great experience
- Ramon (10/5): - The view of the beach and the town are excellent
- Alec (4/5): - Pros - Had ocean view room and the view was amazing, right on the beach.
Great location right in town.
Cons - only a half wall between bed and bathroom.
Could hear just about everything from other rooms.
Loud music from neighboring bars all night. Clean room, but very outdated, water stains in ceiling, etc.
Beach/ocean view was great, but would stay somewhere else next time.
- James P (10/5): - on the beach close to square
- Louie (8/5): - Loved that the owner treated everyone with respect and kindness his staff was very attentive to our groups needs. The women and man I n the kitchen cooked the best food in the area!!!
- Salissa (10/5): - This sweet spot in Sayulita is perfect. Front row to the beach and has umbrellas and chairs and a restaurant and bar. Margaritas are good. Adan was very helpful from getting us checked in to serving us on the beach and allowed us to keep our things there while we got beach massages after checkout. Our room was so cute and the balcony was awesome. We only stayed one night to explore Sayulita from PV, but would definitely stay here again.
- Cindy (10/5): Just Wow on weekdays - This hôtel us just WOW on weekdays. On the week-end, thé music Of the bars around stops at 3!!
- Mark Howard (8/5): - It was ok. We enjoyed our stay.
- Meredith (10/5): - I loved staying here! Amazing view of the beach, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Very relaxed vibe here. In all the rooms the bathrooms have only a half-wall separating them from the main room, which may be a dealbreaker for some travelers, but I didn't mind it! I would make sure to stay here again if I'm back in Sayulita.
- Jeff (8/5): - No frills beach hotel. The owner and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
- diffy18 (10/5): Best staff and amazing food/drinks - I cannot recommend a hotel more. This was by far the best and most amazing stay for me and my boyfriend. All the staff is EXTREMELY friendly and amazing hosts. The accommodate to your every need without complaint. Best margaritas and BEST french toast i’ve ever had. We found our forever hotel when staying in Sayulita♥️
- Albert (8/5): - This is a great location to be in the prime beach location and surf. Friendly staff and owner who is a longterm owner. The restaurant has great food too. The accommodations are simple but really all you need in a location like this. Just be ready for some loud music nearby...
- Yvonne (8/5): - Perfect budget friendly place that is in the perfect location. Walkable to everything in town with a beautiful view. Staff was absolutely amazing. I will return
- ROBERT (10/5): - Excellent if this is what you are after. A laid back beach hotel. And I mean on the beach. But I’m sure this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. So if it’s fancy lobby w an elevator don’t go. Staff was great. AC worked great. Beds were very comfortable. As good as high end hotels. And the balcony view is tops. I loved the motif and vibe. Only complaint is the “bathroom”. But hey please don’t come if you want that high riise glass hotel life, stick w PV or Cancun. And sadly that’s probably on the way. I’m fixing to be back next year with my surfer kids.
- Carol (10/5): - I was traveling with a friend, and this was heaven. The service an attention since we got there was amazing, We got balcony ocean front and the sunset view 10/10
Yummy food and drinks
- John (10/5): - 👍
- Sammie (2/5): - Horrible
- Maisa Karina Grecco de (4/5): - The property is rundown. Located very close to bars that have music very loud until 4 am every night. It is dirty and very expensive for what they offer
- Ana (8/5): - This hotel is located on Sayulita beach and is in a great location, just steps away from the beach and in walking distance from restaurants and the city square. We got the ocean view room and it was worth it. The only two things that needs attention are the windy, metal stairs and the fact that our room connected to the adjoining room with NO locks. That made us uneasy and we brought it to the attention of the staff.
- Veronica (8/5): - The property was located right in the center of everything in the town. Perfect to walk around and find fun places to eat or a bar to stop by. The property could use a little TLC and needs some upgrades in the rooms and the staircase. Overall we did enjoy our stay and the staff made everything better, including the restaurant in the first floor. The food was amazing, we ate here twice and we’re very satisfied and the prices are great as well.
- Kathrin (10/5): - Gus and Adan where very welcoming and helpful with all of our needs. We enjoyed our stay with them and will be back. We loved their chicken quesadillas and ate them 4 times! They also cooked up fresh fish that was caught and served it to friends with style!!
- Kevin (10/5): - The staff was great! Gustavo and his employees made every attempt to make our stay fantastic! Food was VERY GOOD! You must try the shrimp tacos, they were great! Will we be back? YES, but for a longer stay!
- Elisa (6/5): - I did not like that you can only access the hotel by beach. It would be better to have a back street entrance. It didn’t feel very safe for a female solo traveller. My room was only cleaned once. The curtains were dirty. There was not enough hot water to wash my hair. The staircase was not safe. I could not carry my suitcase up or down. It needs a wider staircase or an elevator. They did not accept credit cards which I really did not like. The staff was very friendly and kind. The view and location was amazing.
- Daniel (10/5): Awesome Hotel - do not miss it - Best boutique I’ve stayed in a VERY long time. Loved it
- Peyton (10/5): - Location is awesome! Everyone is friendly and helpful. The stairs up to the room may be difficult for some. The rooms are simple, nothing fancy. Perfect for us!! Sayulita is an amazing Puebla Magica!!
- jasonpN3374NE (10/5): Mellow Beach Vibe in Sayulita - We came here for a long weekend. Great location and friendly vibe and great service. Good prices. We could hear the DJ party down the beach on Friday night. But nothing that a few margaritas couldn’t take care of. Surfboard rentals at multiple spots next to hotel although quality of equipment is well used. If you love to eat tacos, surf and have a few drinks this is a great place. I would come back for sure.
- hilarys827 (10/5): Hotel Peix is a prize! - Arrived here yesterday and was immediately charmed by our host Gustavo and our room. Incredibly friendly service from all the staff. Our ocean front room was clean with a high ceiling and a lovely open floor plan. You can shower while taking in a view of the ocean. Are you in love with the hotel yet? You will be after you sleep on their incredibly firm and comfortable mattress. Beach chairs provided by the hotel. I’ve heard the restaurant is fantastic. And the location ? The center of town is a flip-flop away. Do yourself a favor and stay here. And try Bebida’s tacos. And all will be good in the world.
- Tarl (10/5): Beachfront hotel - My wife and I stayed in an ocean suite for 5 nights, and overall thoroughly enjoyed staying here (and would again should we come back to Sayulita). The hotel is RIGHT on the beach (above a bar)- the views are amazing, the staff is very nice/ helpful, and falling asleep to the sound of the surf was very relaxing. We loved sitting out on the balcony in the evenings watching the sunset while people surfed. I work remotely, and the balcony was a great place to get in a couple hours of work in the mornings as well.
A few cons: it's difficult to find when you get there- we had a rental car, and finding a parking space was challenging (but that's typical for Sayulita). You actually have to walk down the beach to enter the hotel (no street entrance that we found). We stayed on the 3rd floor, which we accessed by climbing a metal spiral staircase. My wife is afraid of heights, so that took a while to overcome but we managed. The beds are a bit hard/ uncomfortable, and the music from nearby bars is quite loud (although they stop by around 10-11pm).
All that to say, it's not a pristine resort by any means- but the "cons" were but a minor inconvenience. We loved our stay at Hotel Peix, and would definitely stay there again!
