Guest Reviews
- Mike (7/5): Nice place, poor shower - A nice B&B in Kendal. Good welcome, good breakfast, nice room. The water pressure in the shower was non-existant.
- Paulami (10/5): -
- Shadia (10/5): - Everything! The style of the room, the colours, the furniture, the location, the view, the staff, the cleaning standards. N/A
- Paulina (8/5): - A lovely stay to explore the Lakes. Exactly what I needed. Very reasonably priced, clean amd in a very good location. 5 minutes away from the high street but feeling like somewhere peaceful, on the outskirts. Wendy was lovely. Me arriving a bit later wasn't a problem at all. Would definitely recommend.
- Gareth (10/5): Good would come back hosts friendly very helpful - The hosts were very friendly ,good breakfast very clean Location was good, but on a bit of a hill
- matope (10/5): -
- Karen (9/5): Clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast. - Our room was very clean and comfortable. Facilities provided were good. Excellent choice of breakfast. Close to town centre for restaurants and shops.

- Rachel (8/5): Comfortable and peaceful. - Very clean and peaceful Bathroom is quite small.
- Ann (9/5): A comfortable room with good clean facilities. - Good location, close to restaurants. Friendly proprietor. Would recommend for a stay en route to the Lake District. The booking.com website said the property had parking but this was on the street with a parking permit. Not a problem as I found a space nearby but not an accurate description when I had searched for a property with parking* on site.
- Sophia (9/5): Lovely b&b with home cooked brekky & stunning views! - Very attentive and the room had a fantastic view with lovely modern bathroom, great price for the location & size. I think I was upgraded to a superior single as I definitely didn’t pay for one but looking at photos online I wasn’t in the standard single so that’s nice. Great breakfast cooked to order & accommodated me being vegetarian with veggie sausages instead of just missing off meat items Slightly dated main room but felt in keeping with the area & everything else was brilliant, would stay again!
- Matthew (10/5): Lovely home from home - Next to the centre and also lovely for a nice walk. Super clean and a great shower. Breakfast was quality and tasty and the owners were lovely, warm, and welcoming. There was nothing I didn't like about my stay. Even got great weather 😂 obviously it's on a hill but didn't bother me apart from maybe after a few drinks walking back. Did me good tbh.
- Kathleen (9/5): - Quiet and comfortable.
Welcoming hosts.
Close to town centre. TV was intermittent

- Sharon (10/5): Friendly, clean, well-equipped- would visit again. - Lovely, friendly bed and breakfast. We had a great welcome. The room was modern and clean. Breakfast was fresh. The hosts were friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us. We were fine with it, but there is a steep hill to the property - this was stated in the booking emails though. Very minor feedback as it was still lovely, but hash browns with breakfast would have been lovely.

- Sue (10/5): Excellent all round... - The hosts, David and Wendy, were tremendously helpful, as we were delayed due to Storm Claudia. David provided us with advice and taxi numbers - which was much appreciated. When we arrived we were made very welcome. Hillside was warm, inviting and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was excellent, thank you!
The location was perfect for walking into Kendal and to get to the bus station to visit Ambleside and Windermere (and beyond!) We would definitely recommend Hillside and would stay again. Nothing at all. It was exactly as a good B&B should be - and has made me realise what we have been missing by using self catering accommodation.

- paul (3/5): - The host were the most ruddiest people I’ve come across when we arrived in the rain on our bikes we tried to park them on the front but the hill was to steep so we went around the back to the car parking space the owner came out ranting and raving saying you didn’t tell me how you was arriving he told my wife and my sons partner to go out and sort us out while he calmed down
If we hadn’t already paid we would have gone to the travel lodge instead

Tea and coffee facilities in the room There was a bit of noise from the road below the room I had, so I found it to be a problem to have the window open at night
- ROGER (7/5): Overnight stay the lodgings are perfectly adequate. The bed was fine & the breakfast was very good - Easy to find location but although i was lucky to park right outside the parking is a bit of a lottery. The shops & restaurants are within a very short walk. Breakfast was very good. As i say i was fortunate to park right outside the Lodgings but it is a bit of a lottery. Having said that i would definitely stay here again.
