• Oscar (5/5): Good but.... - Excellent location and welcoming staff I've stayed at a pet friendly room, and the lobby counter was literally 20 steps away. It felt intrusive and lend for no privacy. Room: Unfortunately, my room had a broken floor sewage cover, and our stay was completely compromised by the smell of raw sewage. Not pleasant. Breakfast: Excellent romantic set up in the terrace. However, the rations were very small for the price point. 11 Euros per person. Cleanliness: Excellent Price: high end. Mostly paying for location Recommendations 1. Relocation of the reception counter 2. Repair the sewage cover 3. Breakfast portions should be increased 4. Brief the guests on the facilities and services to include WIFI password.

• timsW1996YT (10/5): Portugal's hidden gem - Everything about O Castelo Guest House is, frankly, of the highest quality. From simple things like the quality and comfort of the furniture (the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in), through the location and the view from the room, to the magnificent breakfast which is freshly-prepared to order, delivered to the room and eaten on the balcony with the sound of the sea in your ears, it will be difficult to better what that small team of wonderful people deliver day in, day out. They are just so helpful, friendly and supportive. The location of the Guest House - halfway up a fairly steep hill, albeit overlooking the beach and the sea - dictates that a certain level of fitness is required to access it (unless you have a car, for which street parking is available), but don't let that put you off. It is WELL worth that climb. One of the best stays we have had in Portugal, in over 30 years of travelling to The Algarve, and we will definitely be going back again. Just book early to avoid disappointment as they fill up quickly - but not before me!

Everything was fantastic for when we were there (March in two different years). But I’m not sure street parking would always work in the summer for people with cars. The views from the lobby/reception area patio were breathtaking. We were there for 1 night and our room was on the street with no ocean view, but we had breakfast on the patio the next morning. • GrandTour34257913644 (8/5): Quality accommodation - The location is lovely near the top of the hill on the quieter lefthand side of the beach.  We had a lovely large room which was absolutely spotlessly clean and serviced daily.  Great shower room with lots of shelf space, large shower with good pressure, (shampoo & body wash supplied) and a hairdryer. The large bed (zip- linked singles I think) and pillows were super comfy, for both of us (for a change!).  In our room we had a kettle, Nespresso machine, inhouse filtered bottled water and fridge (and were given some milk on request).  Gorgeous sea views overlooking the beach with a small outside area, with a sunbed, table and chairs for 2  (n.b. it is one long balcony serving 3-4 rooms, or at least that is how it was on the lower floor). The guesthouse sits between 2 small quiet roads but we were not disturbed by this in anyway and actually the only sound we could hear was the sea.  It was early March so we were able to find street parking everyday a few metres from the hotel front door. This is a guesthouse not a hotel so there is no bar, restaurant or communal area - this suited us and it was lovely and quiet. There were always friendly staff on hand to help with anything. Breakfast was included in our rate and delivered in picnic form in a basket each morning to our room at our chosen time, complete with a table cloth. It is great in concept, eat directly outside your room on the balcony, or as we did, breakfast in bed on inclement days!  However, I thought the breakfast was quite limited; coffee /tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, a choice of custard tart or granola yogurt, scrambled egg and a roll. By day 3 the main dish of scrambled eggs and cheese slices* was really quite unappealing (*cheese slices being our veggie substitute for bacon). Some fruit, preserves, butter and small pastries would be nice but definitely more variety on the hot option is needed, at least on alternate days.  In my opinion, the included breakfast did not match the luxury of the accommodation, but with a few tweaks, some flexibility and a bit more imagination, it could. (Don’t spoil the ship for a ha’p’orth of tar!) We did a lot of research before deciding on Carvoeiro and this accommodation. Having visited many other places (Albufeira, Alvor, Ferragudo and Lagos) during our short 4-day stay , we know we made the right choice on both. We highly recommend a stay at the Castelo Guesthouse and Carvoeiro!

• Z5691EMlynnd (10/5): So BEAUTIFUL! - We absolutely LOVED this tiny hotel on the coast. It was clean, well-appointed, quiet and directly looked at the ocean. The staff were helpful and friendly (as was everyone in Portugal!) Even though it was quite rainy while we were there, we were able to get out and hike the coastline. We spent several hours hiking each day with amazing views. The small town of Carvoeira is just a short walk down the hill and has a variety of restaurants and shops. While we couldn’t enjoy breakfast on our balcony (due to rain!), they brought the table and chairs inside and served us breakfast in a picnic basket each morning complete with white table cloth! They even brought us cozy blankets in case we wanted to eat outside. The accomodations were lovely and the best views in the world! We would go back in a heartbeat but maybe next time in September:)

• Joy (10/5): Enjoyed our stay immensely. Would definitely return and recommend to others! - We enjoyed everything about O Castelo Guesthouse. The wonderful staff, clean accommodations, and unbeatable view! We opted to have breakfast delivered to the room to enjoy on our patio. Such a nice touch. The beds were some of the most comfortable we've ever slept on! We were even able to secure parking for our rental. Easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Such a lovely town. We truly enjoyed our stay, highly recommend! The only suggestion I would make for the Family Suite would be to include a few paper goods, such as paper towels or napkins.
• Folake (9/5): Amazing - Everything about this place was perfect! Location is central, view from the room was amazing. Staff was friendly and nice. The air conditioning worked great. Loved it! Bathroom sink wasnt flowing properly. They looked into it but i think a bigger kind of maintenance will be required.

• Hibo (10/5): - The staff were so lovely and accommodating, they booked our kayaking excursions and rescheduled for us when we could not do a certain time. The staff went above and beyond and were very friendly, highly recommended. Perfect location by the sea and very scenic. Nothing.

• AETL2003 (10/5): Adds to the Algarve experience - Excellent location with stunning views. Parking infront of the Guest house was not a probelm, bonus for us. Didn't have breakfast, so cannot comment on this. Very friendly staff and extremely helpful. Clean rooms and I believe great value for money.

• Chandra_Advises (10/5): Comfortable stay at a well-managed property - We had a great time exploring Algarve while staying at O’Castelo hotel. The views from the balcony and the room were terrific. Rooms are spacious with nice interiors. All the major spots of Carvoeiro, including the beach are at walking distance. Highly recommend!

• Yuzu (10/5): It is such a beautiful property and the staff was so fantastic…very welcoming, warm and helpful. The breakfast was tast - The view to the ocean from our room and the patio was amazing. It is closer to the town and beach. You need to able to parallel parking ;) The property is clean, simply decorated. It was too cold to enjoy the breakfast on the patio, but we could still sit there during the day to relax. We were there earlier in December. Nothing really. You need to be able to up and down the hill, bit I think most properties are located on a hill.

• Melissa (10/5): - Die Unterkunft hatte extrem gemütliche Betten und wir hatten einen tollen Seaview von unserem Balkon. Sehr sauber & Serviceorientiert. Der Frühstückskorb ist einen schöne Möglichkeit auf dem eigenen Balkon das Frühstück zu genießen!
