- Travis (8/5): - It was spacious with a great location. All the comforts we needed and frankly more than I expected. Clean, comfortable and convenient.
- John L (8/5): Great Location - The hotel is right across the street from the locks and next door to the Lockview Restaurant. That was very nice for dinner and breakfast. We did not eat at the hotel for breakfast because we wanted something more substantial, so I can't comment on the food. The only problems we had with the room were minor. They did not have an area, or a stand, that was big enough to open our suitcase. Also, there is limited shelf space in the bathroom. Additionally, don't expect to actually "view" the locks. On the positive side, they have a nice little set up of a table and two chair outside the room on the walkway. These are outside every room. It is a nice sitting area, but the view is really just the parking lot and the street. I would probably give the hotel a five-star review if they had an elevator. We were on the second floor, and I have some mobility problems, so that made things a little difficult, but we made it work. You just have to walk out of the parking lot, and you can see them and, as I said, they are right across the street, so they are a very easy walk. The "name brand hotels" in the Soo are nothing special. I have stayed in most of them for business. We decided to check out a "no name hotel" and we would definitely stay here again.

- Catherine (6/5): - The good: big room, comfy mattress, felt safe and slept well. The bad: room had a cosmetic update, but the bathroom needs work and had patched wall (unpainted) and black mold (that made sense because the shower tap didn’t cover the wall hole so ever shower water is running inside the wall), the pillows were lumpy (think too many washes lumps) and I was charged more for my pet than quoted. I’m not sure I’d stay again if I had another option, but in a pinch it was fine.

- William (4/5): - Small and old. Not much in the way of chair, tables or lamps. No bed head board. Very small bathroom but it was recently redone. Plywood wall patch. I had to ask for heat as the room was 64 degrees and the heater did not work. It should be rated as a 4 or 5 on a 1 to 10 scale. I don't know where expedia came up with a 8.8 but if they continue to rate rooms that way I will not use Expedia any longer.

- James (8/5): - We are pretty clean in our room, and we noticed a plain envelope placed on the nightstand with a note that said, "Have a nice stay." What is the envelope for? We were there for three nights and had one towel change, and the waste basket was emptied once. Now I ask again, " What is the envelope for?

- Lara (8/5): - It was an average room. No one checked the room and we only had the existing TP roll. When we ran out of TP the last night we realized there were NO other rolls around the room and since both of us were ready for bed we toughed it out The AC sounded like it was sloshing when the fan turned on and off. Breakfast was cereal, muffins, and eggos which my partner was disappointed with.

- Maria (8/5): Could benefit from a remodel - The room was clean, but is in need of a serious remodel. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet the night we stayed, even though there were several people staying there. There are very few outlets to plug things in, especially near the bed we didn’t have one we could access. The bathroom needs an overhaul. There is no exhaust fan which has led to quite the mold issue and because of the shower head and shower curtain that’s being used, there is water all over floor with each shower resulting in the tiles no longer being attached to the floor. The location is good as it’s right across from the locks.

- Robin (4/5): - Other than it is across from the locks and walking distance to shopping and dining, the rooms are very small and crowded, parking is parallel to your door, and very tight (one car for double room), the room wallpaper was falling off the wall, if you're a larger person the bathroom is way too tight. The microwave is very mini. The 'kid' at the desk, never greeted me, and couldn't be bothered to get out of his chair when I arrived. I guess for a night or a pinch, I'd stay there again but not by choice.

- Brian (2/5): - The room we booked on Expedia had a 9.0 rating the room we got was not even close to looking like the room they gave us. Very false advertising! The heater would not hold a steady temp it would get really hot and then cold. The water had to run for at least 10 minutes to heat up and then it would go from hot to cold. The TV selection of channels was limited.

- Ryan (8/5): Would stay again - Check-in was simple and not a hassle - within 2-3 minutes of arriving at the office we had access to the room. The room was a bit smaller than it looked like from the photos, but it was fine for the wife and I. The room was very clean and, of coourse, our first check was the sheets and mattress - both quite clean and of no concern. Every unit has a little patio space with a little table (a nice little surprise as I don’t think they show that in the photos) and a couple chairs which we used to play cards in the evening. The breakfasts were the usual fare - eggs sausage, toast creal, yogurt, bagels, etc and tasted pretty good (I've had much worse at "fancier" hotels). Tge motel is right across from the locks and right smack in the middle of the shopping district which made for convenient walks to shops, restaurants, etc. The wife and I liked hearing the horn blasts from the ships coming through the locks periodically. Traffic sounds weren't really as issue for us. The one negative I would say is that the walls are pretty thin and you can hear your neighbors conversations pretty easily. Overall, we enjoyed our stay (two nights) and would certainly stay there again (although would probably opt for one of the larger rooms next time).

- JoDee (10/5): Stay at the Lockview Motel! Great place!! - I had a terrific stay at Lockview Motel. The rooms are updated and extremely clean. Every staff member that I interacted with were all very friendly and accommodating. I'm a Housekeeper in a motel myself so I'm critical and I know what to look for. Everything about Lockview was above my expectations! If I ever get back to the Soo I will definitely stay there again! Thank you all!!

You are literally across the road from the lock observation platform and park. Comfy beds and this place was 100% dog friendly.

If I was to say anything negative it would be that the window air unit was LOUD. I slept through it. The location is very good. Right by everything and great parking. Oops I forgot. The recliner was broken. Hahaha. That was funny. Seems to me a place that makes over 150.00 a night could have a decent chair. The bed made everything ok. A good bed is all I need. And a toilet. Shower. 😻
- Jennie (10/5): - We loved our room newly decorated with a rustic touch. Everyone was very helpful. Parking at some of the cabins was a little tight if you wanted to be close to your room. But being downtown you can walk to everything g. The boat tours are fun around the locks.

- Joseph (8/5): Great Location - This was our second time staying here, and we were once again pleased with our choice. We love the little cabins lining the lane behind the main motel. They are clean, nicely updated, and very comfortable. Yes, your neighbors are close, but we never heard a peep from them. We love the location of the Lock Inn, directly across from the locks and park. We again hit this on a Wed. night when there are concerts in the park all summer long. This time it was a local Native American dance demonstration, which was amazing and very moving. The only thing I'd suggest to the managers of this hotel, is get someone in to take care of the landscaping... pull a few weeds, (especially in front of the cabins) put up some window boxes filled with flowers on the balcony railings... Visual first impressions are so important. Overall, though, a great place. We'll be back!
