Guest Reviews
- Mahmoud (4/5): - I did say you get what you paid for. Under normal circumstances I will never book this hotel. The fact that I was driving from up north down south and I would just looking for any place to crash. I found this cheap hotel and as it is cheap in a price it’s also cheap in the service towels has been Overused. The bed is OK. They clean the room, but everything there is old. They just need to take care this place a little more and at least for a coffee for the travelers as the coffee machine was broken. I would love to give better reviews and more stars, but this is not fair to get more than what you provide
- James (2/5): Zero stars - Strong smell of both curry and Marijuana in our room as well as outside in the parking lot. It was very uncomfortable and we had to leave to find other accommodations.
When we told the two employees, the young lady seemed as though she wanted to help but the older man basically shrugged his shoulders and said oh well. The young lady looked apoplectic but neither offered a remefy so we checked out with no refind,
discount or being offered a different room.
- Linda (2/5): - First appearance room was pleasant and bed was comfortable BUT I had asked for a non smoking room when I entered I could smell smoke and it had a musty odor. I have asthma and am very sensitive to agitants.. in the bathroom mold was on the ceiling tiles. I informed management and they said they were aware of it. That is a health hazard and should not have been rented till it was fixed. Also the entrance door had gaps . It was not tight fitting and the smoke from people smoking outside drifted in. I took pictures if needed to verify
- Shammi (10/5): - Check in was fast and simple, the young lady that checked me in was very nice and helpful..room was very clean,a/c was and working tv was working .
Room was clean
No complaints and yes would stay again
- Demetries (8/5): - The staff is very polite and professional
- Mia (4/5): - This property was so incredibly rundown and just gross. The rooms were dirty (hairs in tub, carpet was filthy), the sheets were rough and uncomfortable, towels were well worn and in need of replacement. There was mold/mildew growing on the ceiling in the bathroom- clear repeated water damage from the 2nd floor room. You could hear every step of the person staying in the room on the floor above.
At check-in I was disappointed to learn that while it was advertised as including breakfast, that statement was false. I have stayed at some budget properties during roadtrips (just need a place to sleep) and this was one of the worst I have seen.
The staff was nice, but that didn't make up for the rest.
- MARIA A (4/5): - Very bad had to wait for front desk personal to come out from inside and apparently didn't know much , door wasn't to safe, broken on bottom and dirty, also walls were not to clean.
- Susan (10/5): - The room is clean and attractive, with a very comfortable bed. The extra furniture is simple but utilitarian. Lighting, Direct TV, climate control, and layout are fine.
- Danika (2/5): - Not clean, smelly, unsafe, property was full of crashed cars, windows broken, door jams cracked, no ac, stained beds. Overall gross. staff did not want to help either.
- Aneka (6/5): - Cool
- Anthony (10/5): - Great staff
- Tiffany (4/5): - Ceiling was water damaged no breakfast like in photos. No cover for bed just a thin sheet trash behind the tables
- Seth (8/5): - Clean and safe.
- Kevin (6/5): - The staff was great!!
- Mary (6/5): - Only think i didn't like is the bathroom, ceiling tiles mostly all stain with water damage and tub was missing a part. Mainly they need to fix bathrooms a lot better. Other thing the A/C location pretty poor, it took a lot of time to get the room cold.
- Anthony (8/5): - We stay here on our way to Florida. Its convenient, cheap and our favorite restaurant is right down the road.
- alan (10/5): - It was clean accommodations at a reasonable rate.
- Perry (10/5): - Andy the manager was wonderful to us and we enjoyed clean rooms and friendly service. Would definitely stay again
- Ayan (10/5): - Used their services on our way back too. Both our experiences were great. Checking out was easy. Lots of places close by for dining and breakfast makes it easy.
- Alberto (2/5): - Old and smelly. Advertise breakfast but was none
- Ayan (10/5): - Great place to stop. Super helpful at the desk. Very cordial. Rooms are very clean. Highly recommend it if you want to stop in between trips.
- Barb (4/5): - We found a cheaper rate online and they wouldn’t match it at the hotel as we checked in at midnight. We also had to get 2 rooms when we traveled with 4 kids under 10.
Floor was dirty, our door wouldn’t open, bathtub wouldn’t drain, tile on floor was loose and things didn’t look wiped down. This was a last minute decision because everything else was booked as we were traveling late.
- Verified traveler (2/5): I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK - I checked in a little after 4:00pm Friday 4/4 I was in town for an event that started at 3. So after I checked in, I off loaded my luggage, turned the ac on. I returned after 10pm the room was STILL too hot, and the tv didn't work. I called the front desk from my cell phone. When the gentleman was working on my tv, I asked for fan because of the heat. They didn't have one. The staff person made the comment that if I would've called earlier he would be able to more with it. Stating it was running per specs
- Daniel (4/5): - Initial assigned room had a very bad odor.
- David (4/5): There are others that are BETTER (same price) - They don't have a breakfast and they don't have coffee anytime! The tub has no stopper and the units have no coat hangers or rods to hang them on. There was no ice bucket or ice machine that I could find. The best feature was that it was quiet. There was Direct TV with a guide. the beds were OK but the sheets were thinner than I ever saw before. The unit was well worn and the units seem to be rented in part for weekly or monthly rentals since one car was on blocks being repaired.
- Susan (4/5): - Undergoing ownershio change … so not as paid for I.e no continental breakfast or even coffee. Room was dirty especially the pillows and the floors.Shower spigots were barely hanging on. Phone didnt work and door had been kicked in… ugh it was so late we used our own pillows walked back to the office and asked for a blanket ( none in room)and slept anyway
- Verified traveler (6/5): Typical hotel off the interstate - Typical hotel right off the highway. Smelled like cigarettes, had holes burned in the sheets. Missing ceiling tiles in the bathroom. But it was a place to put my head down.
- Kathy (2/5): - Room was hot, musty and dirty; only 2 towels for 4 people; pillows were small, limited, and clumpy; smoke detector not covered, microwave did not work: iron missing; electrical outlet under window did not work; room was dim with the lights on: website false advertising, no breakfast at all. The TV was nice, hot water, and coffee good. The lady the runs it had outstanding customer service. This place would not make it without her. Also, due to the conditions of the rooms, they should be refundable. Maybe since you advertise breakfast and don’t have breakfast, you could pay for guests to eat at Huddle House or give a voucher. It looks to be more like a residential motel and not accommodating to out of town guests as it should be.
- Anthony (2/5): - We got ripped off for our deposit there was no tissue soaps there was no ice bin there was no smoke detector on the base of the wall it had been ripped off in the base was just up there holes all in the blankets cheap towels and they charge us $30 because I wiped a towel with my face and makeup got on it and they said that wasn't coming out and is $30 for it
- Yohelmy (6/5): - N/a
- Ken (8/5): - Clean room and friendly staff. Convenient to the highway. Building is old and in need of upgrading.
- Peter Mark (2/5): - We had room 108, first the room was very musky and the AC took over an 1hr and a half to get the room cool, the bathtub was leaking all night water wouldn't shut off. The people on the top floor had clothes hanging off the balcony after 10 pm about 6 shirts and 4 shorts like they just finish doing laundry and didn't want to put clothes in dryer..ole skool I guess. The staff was good but the place needs better up keep. This was a 1 star night for me.
- Henry (2/5): DON'T STAY HERE - To begin with, there was no one in the office lobby. I had to push a call button several times to get someones attention. When i got to my room i vould see that the rooms furnishings were eather old or badly used. In the shower there was a ceiling tile missing over the tub,you could see the plumbing from the room above. The real problem was the lack of HOT water. It barely warmed at all.
It was clear this was an old motel. If you are looking for a place to stay in Walterboro S.C. don't stay a Travelodge.
- Ashley (2/5): - Got ate up by bedbugs
- Rebecca (2/5): keep driving - this place was horrible
this is a resident hotel
drive another 50 miles south the rest area in GA was a better place to sleep
- Linda (10/5): - Great experience
- Mary (8/5): Not Recommended - Could smell mold..water marks from previous leakage above the bathtub. Could smell mold from the wall air conditioner. ( No extra roll of toilet paper provided; no tissues.) This was like camping out. I would never recommend staying here. You get what you pay for..low price and low quality. I only stayed one night each coming and going from a trip.
- Kevin (2/5): - We lost our hotel room at another facility and chose to tough it out here for one night. This motel was in our price range, so we booked it sight unseen on Expedia. This was a mistake!
Waited in the lobby for a receptionist to check in and that musty smell/odor was strong. Went to the room and found it was nothing like advertised. Our room decor was an aged navaho theme and nasty bathroom ceiling tiles covered in poisonous mildew from water leaks above. If I could include photos, I would. My family will not stay here again due to safety concerns (folks coming in and out all hours of the night). I will be formally requesting a refund of $68.02 and consider it a lesson learned.
- Erika (2/5): - Saw two roaches skittering around inside our room...ugh!
The grip bars for accessing the shower/tub were missing. It looked like they were ripped off the wall. Did not feel safe stepping into the tub.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fair - Ceiling tiles in bathroom were gross, no cups, nothing for ice, very noisy from upstair guests. Staff was very nice. Clean enough for a place to sleep.
- Tarane (8/5): - I had a problem the first night, but the staff rose to the challenge and made the rest of my stay pleasant.
Hey, this is a nice room at a good rate.
- jeff (8/5): - good value for the stay
- Onyae (10/5): - Ok
- Chasing (10/5): - Good
- Bart (2/5): - ROACH MOTEL - If you value your personal health and cleanliness, AVOID THIS PROPERTY! I immediately found two small roaches crawling on the furniture, and a sticky mess on top of an end table. I turned around, walked out, gave my key back to the desk clerk, and asked for a refund. There was absolutely no way I was going to touch anything in that room, let alone sleep there. Wyndam should be completely embarrassed to have their name even associated with this location.
- Gerald Kodi (2/5): - I loved this place at one time I have taken pictures of the horrible stains mattresses stain towels stain pillow no hot water no microwave broken desk lamp with no cord to plug in lampy cord spilt in half noise fighting weed mariuanna out of control dogs barking all night the rooms should be label pet rooms most hotels are serving breakasft this hotel does not anymore the palce is rum down so badly housekkeepper were told not to knock on ym door.
- Rachel (2/5): Do Not Stay Here! - AVOID THIS PLACE! The a/c didnt work, the light in the bathroom wouldnt turn on, had ceiling tiles with stains from a water leak, mold, and the sheets were stained yellow. Absolutely gross.
I spoke with the front desk and the lady already knew about the issues with the room and offered to move me to "nicer room" for an upcharge. I requested my money back as I literally was in the room for less than 2 minutes, and the hotel REFUSED. I called and made a formal complaint to Hotels.com AND Wyndham about the condition of the property and getting the refund. Im determined this place does not keep my money for this gross nightmare!
- Kevin (8/5): - Saw a roach
- Michael (2/5): - Check in was informal and very cold. Doors were locked so I had to ring in, and this was at 4 in the afternoon. Room was filthy, roaches, broken doors, microwave didn’t work, shower was Luke warm at best. Filthy bedding and carpet and furniture.
Didn’t like anything about this place.
- Lisa (6/5): Doesn’t live up to the customer reviews. - Hotels.com needs to correct the listing to make sure it doesn’t show “breakfast included” at this property - it DEFINITELY is not included. But, with. Huddle House in the parking lot next door and a Starbucks across the street it doesn’t matter, but expecting it and not getting it is two separate things.
Also, this property is kind of a long-term residence for locals. The room itself was kind of scary with door jambs that look like they’d been broken into. The bathroom didn’t have a towel setup for two people and there was no hot water…just tepid. The bed was comfortable enough so it served its purpose for the night but we couldn’t take showers due to there being no hot water so that kind of stank.
This is my third Wyndham experience and I have to say it’s the third time I’ve been disappointed in the VAST difference between how the property is portrayed and what it is.
When I asked the front desk for a “newer” room upstairs, she said they didn’t have rooms for someone like me who has expectations of a certain level. And said “it’s just an average motel, nothing more.”
Just don’t be fooled by the Wyndham name because the room needed painting, drywall repairs, a thorough carpet cleaning, new side chairs that weren’t worn beyond repair, and hot water.
- Paul (4/5): Third world quality - No clothes hangers, lightbulb in the lamp was burnt out, no phone to call the office, only 3 pillows even though the picture shows 4, no blanket with 19 degree temperatures. My husband went to the office and was told we only get 3 pillows, no hangers. We got a light bulb. Only 2 very thin bath towels and wash cloths. No hand towels. There were cigarette burns in the bedspread in a non smoking room.
- Paul (10/5): - You get what you pay for, was fast, cheap and convenient. However no light in bathroom, no toilet paper and missing parts of door. Would stay again.
- Brandon (2/5): Not a place to stay - The lady at the front desk was really friendly and nice. The room was dirty. I mean extremely dirty. You could tell it hadn't been cleaned. There was throw up on the door and the bathroom. No hot water. What she did explain before I went in. There's people living in some of the rooms you can tell The bed was not comfortable at all.seen quite a few bugs overall I can would recommend never to stay there unless you had no other choice
- Helen (4/5): Dirty - We stopped there overnight. The room smelled old. The tiles in the bathroom, on the ceiling were water stained, not properly seated and looked moldy. The toilet moved when you sat on it. It was advertised as 'breakfast included' and when we left at 8am there was nothing. The coffee machine was broken and there was absolutely no food. I would not recommend this motel to anyone.
- Richard (2/5): - Room is dirty area is bad. Not good at all.
- Esteban (4/5): Avoid this place at all costs - I just needed a room to sleep in for a few hours late at night on a road trip with my daughter. Booked this one for cheap thinking "how bad can it be?" It was worse than I could imagine. I was genuinely concerned for myself and my daughter. The check in was like a hostage negotiation, through a little hole in the wall (you weren't allowed inside at night). There were sketchy people loitering around and people yelling from within the rooms late at night. It appears that many rooms have full time residents living there. Everything in the room was stained and damaged. The door had been broken down at some point and the door jam had been screwed back on. The bathroom had been ripped apart by a dog at some point and the shower could not be turned off all the way. There was dirty clothes left from a previous guest behind the bathroom door, along with balled up toilet paper. The only clean thing appeared to be the sheets. So we slept for a couple of hours and then promptly left early before anyone else woke up. We'd planned to have the included breakfast, but based on the experience and what I saw of the breakfast area, there was no way I was staying a minute longer than I needed to, much less eat whatever they served. We ate at a restaurant instead. Do whatever you can to avoid this place. I wouldn't stay here again even if it was free.
- Donald (2/5): Very dirty and sketchy - The hotel was very sketchy, no cars there. No one at checkin desk for 10 minutes. Went to rooom and it was not cleaned, leaves and other debris on floor and furniture. Very gross! We left immediately and found another motel. Do not go there!!
- Kedric (6/5): - Nice people
- Gary (4/5): - It was cheap. Not worth it. Dirty with absolutely no amenities. Not even a plastic cup.
- Zofia (6/5): - Advertised complimentary breakfast and offers nothing not even a coffee or tea. Very disappointing.
- Alan (2/5): - Property was in a general state of disrepair. Room was not cleaned well. Unwashed pillowcases. Linens were grubby. Towels were stained. Door looked like it had been kicked in at some point.
- juliana (4/5): - This hotel price should be much lower as the condition have taken a turn for the worst a couple months ago. Photos don't lie.
- Laurence (6/5): - Good price for a tidy room to sleep. Denny's and Waffle House across the street.
- Mark (10/5): - Great
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for the price. - It's a place to sleep. No frills, but it was exactly what I expected for the cost.
- Carol (8/5): - The room smells like smoke and it’s not supposed to be a non-smoking room
- William (2/5): - The staff was basically non existent couldn’t get extra towels something was leaking in the bathroom. I wouldn’t recommend this place or ever stay there again
- Leslie (8/5): Convenient location - Ok for the value of room. Close to food, gas, Walmart, and Starbucks.
- Dave (4/5): - Won't recommend
- Clayton (6/5): - Some light fixtures, receptacles did not work. AC did not keep the room cool.
- Janet (4/5): - Did not stay. Room was not up to clean standards we are used to. Wash cloths looked like they were used for dusting. There were 2 dirty towels hanging on shower rod. We did not stay. We left.
- Joe (2/5): - Too bad I have to write this because the woman at the front desk was so nice and understanding but I don’t like roaches. Also, how do you get stains on curtains! Cigarette burns on the bed sheets? I had no choice but to stay so I slept with my clothes on and the lights on. I ran out as soon as I got up. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else. It’s 2023, get an exterminator!
- Verified traveler (8/5): AV - Room was clean. No hot water in sink. there was ironing board but no iron.
- Paul (2/5): - The is was the dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed. The rooms aren’t clean. They leave the air off when no one’s in the room so it smells moldy.
I slept in my car. Was to tired to argue for a refund
- Raphael (10/5): - Perfect for pets and everything is in walking distance. Hotel staff very nice and welcoming.
- yvonne (4/5): - Door saftry latch broken, tub drain broken, ice machine broken, bathroom sink slow drain, phone in room not working. Hallway rugs disgusting. , pool still broken after 2.5 years. Expedia listed pool working.. so i booked and came in too late to find another room. Beds were decent and at least wfi and tv worked.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed, down south is no excuse for bugs - Roaches in night table drawer between the beds.
Detailed vacuuming not getting completed.
- BERTINA (8/5): - Convient for your convience
- BERTINA (10/5): - Place is very close to my place of unemployment.
- Sabrina (10/5): - The woman who checked us in was amazing and so nice as we are traveling 😊 very pleasant
- James (6/5): - About what I expected for the price, inexpensive stop on the road. Dated, few amenities, but sufficient for quick stop.
- Michael (2/5): - Bedroom area ok but bathroom ceiling apparenly had a leak some time ago and panels had a lot of water stains and were near collapsing from retainers.
Front door did not have metal lock stops and door seemed to have been forced open thereby eliminating the metal stop which should have been replaced. The top security lock , room 105, would not close at all. Caulking around air conditioner was non existent.
I am surprised that Wyndham would lend it's name to this property - - it is obvious that they just want to collect franchise fees and don't care about condition of such properties.
Reception staff were nice but didn't seem capable of correcting noted problems.
Sorry, but truth must be told.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Peace and quiet - I had a quick and easy check in , the lady behind counter was nice and very helpful with telling me about the stores and restaurants around motel very peaceful and i got a good night sleep. I will definitely be back
- Chris (2/5): - Very noisy people next door. All night loud. Then at 5:30 am fire alarm. Drawer in room don't close, smoke detector broken
- Brian (8/5): - Overall a good place to stay. The one thing to make it a little bit nicer, update the furniture. It’s from the late 70’s early 80’s and just basically deteriorating. Beds nice I would recommend this to others
- Brian (2/5): Dont Do IT!!! - First the lady that checks you in has a very bad attitude and is very rude, now the room was disgusting it was mold infested it was very dirty. We couldn't stay more than 10 min in the room. Very wet and moldy. Trash piled up outside many rooms. Do yourself a favor and don't stay in this roach motel!
- Bethany (4/5): - The room was somewhat clean. However, it was stifling hot since they had the A/C completely off. Website advertised free breakfast but was not provided. Was told that the website hadn't been updated. Frig in room didnt work at all. Lobby was not welcoming. We were in the middle of a family emergency and instead of being accommodating, staff charged an extra $25 for late checkout. Thought since Wyndham owned this, it would be much nicer!
- Kenneth (6/5): - This hotel worked as intended, an inexpensive stop to grab a few hours sleep. It's perfect for that.
- Michael (6/5): - Very tired and probably kept grounds. You get what you pay for and I just needed a bed for the night on my way through.
But if my wife had been with me, she would not have stayed there.
- Mary-Lou (8/5): - Accommodated My mobility issues and dog 🐶.
- Lisa (2/5): RUN RUN RUN!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! - We do not mind a hotel that is older, but this place was unbelievable! Disgusting, ran down, unsafe, unsanitary! Gunshots outside half the night, AC/HEAT unit (not even in a window) broken and not functional, outlets that were tore up, smoke detectors that are not functional, frogs come out of the drains, rooms reek of cig smoke, tub was GROSS, door to one room had been kicked in at one point! Did not give the room booked. I booked 3 rooms exactly the same and they instead gave a single bed room which did not allow for everyone in our party to have a bed. The front desk girl was rude and slammed my receipt up against the glass to tell me those are the rooms I get despite my confirmation showing different. Do not for any reason stay here.... we checked into 3 rooms at 1am (we were exhausted from working and driving), slept as best we could for 4 hours, and was out of there by 5:30am! I travel a lot and this was absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed or even walked into. If we had any other option for a few hours sleep for that night then I would have taken it! RUN RUN RUN!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!
- Glenn (10/5): - Conveniently located
- Karen (10/5): - I liked the very friendly desk clerk. I like the Travelicity location around shops and lighted areas.
- Tylor (2/5): Never go - No trash can, only one lamp in entire unit, tv dont work, very dirty
- Dennis (2/5): - The hotel was so scary. People that were staying there were outside my room fixing cars. One man was staring at me and had a knife on his belt. I left immediately. The clerk at the desk reversed my reservation. I felt my threatened.
- Suzanne (6/5): :istingincorrect and place rundown. - The listing for this property is incorrect as there is no breakfast provided, despite it being advertised as including breakfast. There was coffee, but that was all.
The ice machine was not working and it appeared that it had not worked for some time. The place was run down and general maintenance was poor.
- Allyson (4/5): - When we checked in we couldn’t have the king room we had booked because of a water leak. We were given a double room. Everything looked old. Bathroom was awful, stained. What looked like cigarette burns in the bedding. Very small, old and lumpy pillows.
- Heather (4/5): Dissapointed - Well first of all there's no continental breakfast no coffee had to pay extra when I got there even though I booked a double bed they only had me down for a king size there was nothing that they said was included won't book them ever again
- Shannon (4/5): - Felt very unsafe to park. Room had trash under the beds.
- Michael (10/5): - I love the location and the staff, at this motel. It is very refreshing and friendly. Everything I want and need is here.
