Good location and walkable to many restaurants, etc. This is NO fault of Casa del Rai, but the sargassum was blooming during our visit, which makes visits to the nearby beach disappointing.

• JOHN N (10/5): Great choice for a great visit. - I chose Casa del Rai for two reasons. One was the location. You can walk to the airport if you want. It is in walkable distance to almost all the bars and restaurants south of the bridge. The other reason was the large number of positive reviews. The owners and staff are mentioned again and again as going beyond what you normally expect. And we found that to be true from the time we were picked up at the airport until the time we were dropped off at the airport. Sincere goodbyes and handshakes and waves from each of them and sincere hugs from Darwin as he dropped us off. All throughout the day we found ourselves in conversations with each of them. Real conversations, not just typical questions we might have as guests. The room was perfect. We often hung around in the room using either the air conditioning or the fans, or sat just outside on the balcony in the sun and breeze. You could watch the boats and the reef from one balcony or the people and the gulf carts on the street from the other. The ability to use either a microwave or an oven to heat up the leftovers you brought back from supper was great. Or just warm up what you picked up at the bakery or one of the numerous local takeouts. The pool on the top level was just right for cooling off or working on your tan while looking out at the reef. And I was impressed with the time spent cleaning the rooms for the next guests. We had a great time on our visit in San Pedro. Staying at the Casa del Rai was a very important part of the reason why.

• Lovely Lisa CA (8/5): Nice Property - Owner Could Be More Understanding - The apartment was large, beds very comfortable, beach towels provided, kitchen had just enough, close to beach access, grocery, and food options. Staff was friendly - owner (man) was grouchy. The property assumes guests will book all excursions through them, but we had booked our excursions online before booking our hotel. When I asked about how to arrange a taxi for our excursion, I got a full lecture. All I wanted was to get a taxi WhatsApp number or know where to stand to catch a taxi since our departure was early the next morning. The lecture was wholly unnecessary.

• joanna (6/5): Nice inside, location is not - Clean comfortable rooms, nice living room, kitchen well equipped. “Inside” of the place is great. Location. Next to the building is an ugly construction site (it looks abandoned). No direct access to the beach, no “resort” feel. It’s a few story house next to main street. It is noisy, especially when you sleep in the room on the side of the busy street. The stairs and floors outside were super slippery when rained, easy way to slip. We stayed there only for 2 nights (even though we paid for 4 nights), and move to a resort away from the city. There are few floors there, make sure you want to go up a few flights (it’s a lot..). We were disappointed. Needles to say, I’m very sorry to write this , but I rely on recommendations, so it’s important that the information is up there.

• Chloe (10/5): Perfect location, clean and spacious rooms, and very friendly staff - The rooms were spacious and clean, and the location was so close to everything we needed (restaurants, bars, diving shops, etc). The rooftop was beautiful as well. However, what really stands out is the staff — everyone was so welcoming and helpful! They took care of everything for us, airport transportation, providing golf cart rentals, booking excursions, etc. I 100% recommend this place for everyone!

• Desiree (9/5): - Lage etwas abseits des Zentrums, nahe am Meer. Es gibt einen Pool auf dem Dach. Da momentan so viel Sargassum an den Stränden ist und man deshalb nicht baden kann ist der Pool extra Der Ausblick vom Dach ist sehr schön! Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend! Die Küche war gut ausgestattet und es gibt Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Geschickt auch der Bäcker schräg gegenüber. Eigentlich alles prima, nur sehr schade für alle Besucher ist das Sargassum. Hoffentlich wird eine Lösung gefunden!
• Shira (8/5): - דירה מאובזרת ונוחה, הצוות היה מקסים, בעלי הבית לא היו אבל היו איתנו בקשר לפני כל ההגעה, הסבירו ודאגו. הצוות שהיה במקום היה אדיב ונחמד. אספו והחזירו אותנו מהמקום למעבורת ללא תוספת תשלום. הם משכירים במקום קלאב קאר שזו הדרך שכולם מתנהלים באיזור. הברכה היא על הגג, נחמד מאוד. אפשר ללכת ברגל למרכז צלילה קרוב שזו בעצם הייתה האטרקציה הכי רלוונטית של המקום. החוף היפה לשחיה ובילו בעונה שהיינו (יולי) היה במרחק 45 דקות נסיעה בכביש לא משהו עם הקלאב קאר. הצלילות היו מדהימות. בית חב"ד נמצא במרחק של כ20 דקות נסיעה, היינו בארוחת שישי והיה מדהים! יש במרחק הליכה מסעדות ובתי קפה. יש גם הרבה סופרים ואפשר לבשל בדיקה, מטבח מאובזר ונוח. בליז הוא מיקום שישראלים נכון לקיץ 2025 לא רצויים בו מבחינת הרשויות. האנשים עצמם היו מקסימים אבל עכבו אותנו בגבול 6 שעות למרות ששלחנו מייל מראש וגם הבאנו הכל מודפס כפי שביקשו, לא שווה את זה בכלל, לא ממליצה לאף ישראלי להכנס למדינה הזו. בעונה שהיינו יש בכל החופים אצות בכמויות מטורפות וכל האזור מסריח ברמות קשות, זה נכנס לדירה גם כשסגרנו הכל, ריח שבאמת א"א לעמוד בו. התמונה של הבריכה במלון אכן נכונה אבל רק לדעת שהיא בעצם נמצאת בגג בקומה 5 בערך ולא ממש על החוף כמו שזה נראה. לחוף שליד הדירה לא ניתן להיכנס בגלל האצות. סן פדרו זו עיירה מאוד מאוד פשוטה, מרגיש שנתקעה איפשהו בשנות ה 70-80. זה לוקיישן בעיקר לצלילות מטורפות, לא מעבר לזה.

Also appreciated the ride to and from the water taxi. Not a negative, but I didn’t understand that there weren’t laundry facilities in the individual units. ( On site laundry service is available.)

Golf carts available on site. Darwin picked us up from the water taxi and took as back at the end of the stay. Tour information is provided in the rooms. We had a great time on the snorkeling tour we booked. San Pedro is crowded so it is a little noisy. Casa del Rai is in a less congested area which was nice. Sargassum was also all over the beaches.

I was accomplished with meet and greet transportation to and from ferry to my stay. The entire apartment was clean and spacious with safety locks to make your stay is worry free. There were plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance. I will choose this place again for my trip back to Belize. Thanks again for your brilliant service and hospitality.

I was in constant communication and they made sure we had all necessary information prior to us arriving to the room. Darwin was amazing, he made us feel at home and made sure we needed nothing. He guided us 100% through our entire stay. Highly recommend this hotel for sure! There wasn’t actually nothing we didn’t like but if I had to pick anything it would be that the location is great but be prepared to listen to golf carts throughout the night. It really didn’t bother us after a while.

• Reginald (7/5): Good - Courteous, friendly staff. Clean rooms. The bedroom faces the main street in San Pedro and the noise level made it unable to sleep and continued throughout the night. The living area has a fold-out bed which was reasonably comfortable for a fold-out but not to our expectations, and dogs barked in middle of night on the living area side. Unless you can sleep through loud erratic noise I would not recommend this place.

• Arthur (7/5): Bare minimum cute friendly hotel. - Good view and staff is friendly. No coffee, no shampoo or conditioner, bathroom faucet water flow is tiny and unable to use. Report to staff the answer is that this is the way it is and there is nothing can be done. Sounds like a chronic issue. TV very small and only has one music channel.

The roof top oasis was amazing with beautiful views of the sea, perfect for relaxing and catching some Caribbean sun. Rooftop pool with palapa was the - Everything was well taken care of, super clean and the staff was AMAZING!! It is a great location. Close to Wayo’s and Hurricane Ceviche’s and an amazing bakery is just down the street a tiny bit. You can watch both the sunrise and sunset from this property. They also have golf cart rentals and they pick you up at the airport and take you back. Could not have been any easier. Aileen, Latisha and Darwin all made it very memorable. They even have some little turtles. Nothing!!
• Gavin (10/5): the pool area on the roof is magic , perfect to watch sunsets. i sat up there for hours and hours - everything was good. hosts are awesome. they can organise transfers from international airports as well. a person with the sign picking you up is a big help if its your first time. they have there own golf cart rentals available, saves a bit of hassle going into town and they have permanent parks on site. property has a locked gate as well road noise was present. as it is on the main road, so must be expected. golf carts on the island are noisier than cars, takes a night to get use to, then i could sleep through everything. take ear plugs just incase you are a light sleeper.

• Claudia (9/5): Beach front with great views and swimming pool - The rooms were spacious, fully equipped with kitchen, a/c, fans, tvs in both rooms, wi-fi, two terraces, a rooftop pool, great sea views, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, they offered complimentary pick up and drop off, and a big bottle of water in each room. The apartment is located across all the famous beach bars and restaurants, and also close to grocery stores, fruit markets and bakeries. They offer extra towels for the pool free of charge, which was a nice detail. Although we stayed for five nights, there was no cleaning of the room or change of towels. It didn’t bother us that much, but it would have been nice to have.

• Rebecca (10/5): Amazing, educational, and perfect - Beautiful rooftop view. Amazing staff from the minute our water taxi pulled up to the island. If I come back to Belize this is the only place I would ever stay. We came here and met strangers and are leaving with family. Perfect location as well. Couple minute walk to the beach front. Fruit market across the street as well as bakery and grocery all in walking distance. The golf carts they offer which you will need are perfect and was very easy to set up with them. I can’t say enough good things about the property and staff. Lots of stairs. With arthritis makes it a tad much but every step is worth the view.

• Beatfilms (10/5): Better than I could have hoped for - crazy value for the money. - Absolutely wonderful location. The apartment (Teal - top floor) was large, spacious and clean. Wonderful view from the balcony with an even better view from the rooftop pool. Hosts/Owners and everyone working for them were super helpful with everything you'd possibly need. Absolutely no hesitation recommending this stay. I had no issues at all. You are IN San Pedro if that's an issue to you. It can be a little loud at night. But the proximity to everything more than makes up for it in my book. Not a knock on the property itself at all.

Picked us up from the airport and gave us good advice on where to eat, shop etc. Staff was friendly and always available to assist when needed. Place was Very clean, beds were very comfortable, air con worked great. Kitchen well supplied with cooking utensils, pool was clean and refreshing, close to the ocean. Nice views on the roof next to the pool. Street noise was pretty rough trying to sleep between trucks and dogs barking all night in the bedroom nearest to the street. The second bedroom was a bit quieter and was able to sleep much easier. However, not much owners can do about the noise.

• Aguinaldo (10/5): Great location, well run, clean, apartment building and pool with friendly staff. - The location was great because it was a 15 minute walk into the main area of town. We had the best view in the Citrus 2 bedroom appt. being on the 4th floor walk up. The pool was located on the 5th floor. Our Citrus had an unobstructed view of the ocean. The 4th floor was good because we got our steps and exercise in every day. Leticia was so kind and friendly and we had a good amount of towels for both beach and showers. They have golf cart rentals on site for a very competitive and reasonable rate. The location was walkable to most of the local restaurants. Darwin manages the place and he is knowledgeable and accommodating to any of our requests and needs. We also had a complimentary round trip pick up from the airport. There is a bakery, local grocery store and Road Runner rest. for good snack or tacos) within a 5 minute walk. There is a local bar called Rayos 1 block away that has live music every night. The house was very clean and well maintained. The swimming pool has a refrigerator bar and has unobstructed 360 views all around. If you cannot walk up 4 flights of stairs, the Citrus room might not be the room for you but they have lower floor apts. available to rent too. The first bedroom was a little loud since it is street facing but the 2nd bedroom was much quieter. They do not provide toiletries like shampoo and shower soap so make sure to bring your own.

• Andrew (10/5): Awesome place to stay with your family - Our family stayed here and had a wonderful time. It's just as described, and Aileen, Randy, and their staff were all very friendly, hospitable, and helpful. Our 4yo especially enjoyed spending lots of time in the pool! (Incidentally, we loved being able to enjoy the rooftop space, along with 2 patios off of our condo.) The property is very clean, well taken care of, and a wonderful place to stay while you explore the island. We also felt secure and appreciated being able to rent a cart from them that could be parked behind the gate.

• Connie (10/5): Lovely staff, owners and all around feel. - Enjoyed the location right next to pan dulce bakery! Yum! Loved the pool just wished it was heated during chilly nights. Beds super comfy, pillows perfectly squishy. Awesome price for a family of 5. Awesome veranda to sit and watch the city life go on its way while you vacation. The neighbor shoved his dog in his open washer every morning making it bark early in the am, that was extremely annoying but not the property's fault.
• Karen (10/5): Would recommend. - Room very comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Even had paper Towels which I find a lot of places in central and South America don’t provide. The owners were friendly and super helpful. I had a food tour and didn’t set my alarm correctly so I was running late. The owner asked one of the staff to drive me to my destination. You can rent a half cart from the owners. Most people do rent but walking into town was easy . I walked most of the time. There is nothing I didn’t like. The only need to know is you get street noise and you are not right on the beach but it is a 1 min walk to the beach. There is a pool on the roof with some lounge he chairs. The pool water was a bit cold.
• Mary (10/5): Definitely Recommend! - It was a great apartment with a kitchen that had all the utensils! Aileen (owner) and Pablo (assistant) helped us with all our needs. It has a great small pool on the roof that is perfect for sunsets. The location is perfect to get the local experience. It was very clean and comfortable. There were no bugs! We felt at home at this facility. The cost was great, too! The street out front was very noisy, but it was worth it to be near the restaurants and stores.
• Jason (10/5): An absolute gem of a place in a perfect location! - Randy and Aileen were amazing hosts. They were always eager to answer all our questions, gave us some great recommendations, and made us feel at home in San Pedro. Leticia, our housekeeper and Pablo who takes care of the building went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and also gave us some great recommendations. This place is a gem. Right within the local community, but just a block from the beach, you can find many inexpensive Belizean restaurants or more expensive, but still quite reasonable restaurants catering to tourists. Their golf cart rentals were cheaper than other places we looked and also had the best prices on excursions. We travelled as a family of four from Vermont and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We can't recommend this place enough!

• Remus (9/5): Superb - Amazing apartment, very spacious and clean, with all the required kitchen appliances. It includes A/C in every room which is great during the hot and humid days. The rooftop pool and views are very nice. Location is also good in terms of grocery shops, restaurants, etc. The staff was very friendly, helped us with everything we needed and even picked us up and dropped us off at the water taxi/ferry terminal. Golf carts are available for rent at Casa del Rai as well and they offer them at a good price; they are the best way to get around the island. Beach in the area is not great and not really much of it, very narrow and full of sea grass to get in. However, that's the case for the entire area and most of the beaches facing the reef (West). Secret Beach on the opposite side is by far the best one and also Ramons Village and Central Park are nice along the West Coast.
• Jorge (10/5): Great place for families - The staff were very friendly, they were expecting us at water taxi AND dropped us back at the end of our stay. Mr Byron , Ms Leti and Aileen (online)were always available and prompt to assist us. The room has everything you need, a/C through the entire unit, hot water, the room was very clean, beds really comfortable including the sofa bed. Enough closet space for our belongings. We rented a golf cart with them which was super convenient. The rooftop was great, beautiful view and the pool was always clean. I highly recommend casa del Rai
