Guest Reviews
- Lors (8/5): - Price was cheap.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bed bugs - I've stayed here before and only by accident did I try to stay here again. I've had awful experience with bed bugs at this specific location
- Jacqueline (2/5): - If I could give zero stars, I would. When I arrived at this motel, I walked into a room that looked like someone had just gotten out of bed minutes before. The blankets were messy and obviously used, and the bed was not made at all. Even worse, the trash cans were full—including leftover food from the previous guest. It was not just dirty—it was completely unsanitary and unacceptable.
There was no attention to cleanliness or basic hospitality. I had just traveled expecting a clean, prepared space to rest, and instead, I got a disgusting, neglected room. This is the bare minimum a hotel should get right—and they failed.
I do not recommend this place to anyone. Spend your money somewhere that respects their guests and takes hygiene seriously.
- Susan (8/5): - Convenient and the price was right for a late arrival and early departure. Front office clerk was very helpful to us. Room was clean but no A/C on upon arrival so had to wait for room to cool down before we could go to bed. Property could be more appealing with some upgrades, larger bath towels, and figuring out our to prepare rooms for cooling prior to arrival.
- John (2/5): - Nothing
- Kenny (6/5): Pretty rundown - The room was clean but didn’t offer much. It was rundown pretty and really needs updating. The pool was cold and not the cleanest. One guy kept bothering me for stupid reason. He knocked on the door asking if I needed housecleaning. I reminded him that I just checked in about a half hour ago. I put up the Do Not Disturb sign, however, he knocks on the door repeatedly and gives me a QR code to a menu. He kept on trying to look into my room. I won’t stay there again unless I completely have to. However, the housekeeper was awesome and very positive.
- Melissa (6/5): - Just what I needed a bed for the night nothing fancy
- Adi (2/5): - Save your money and go somewhere else my room was in a very bad condition
- Roy (6/5): Okay for the money - Room was okay. Price was right. Needed a place to shower and sleep.
- Daniel (10/5): - Very quiet and peaceful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Will not return! - The cute exterior pictures are deceiving.
Room 105 needs major updates. There were holes in an upholstered chair and bedspread, stained pillows and dripping faucet in the bathtub.
I slept in our car !!!
- Tore (2/5): - This review is for room 128 kitchenette. Another review previous to our stay sums it well. Rm 128 is a small single wide trailer. It reminded me of the trailer we had hauled off our family's camp lot as it was no longer suitable for use. Very dusty (hard on sinus). Food debris around kitchen. Furniture worn out or broken. Internet overloaded and cable TV inoperative. Unfortunately for us, accommodation in town was full and we stayed 2 nights as we wished to remain in town. In hindsight, I would now have left town even if no refund.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Somethings on the site need to be updated! - It was a normal motel, having a grocery store and convenient store right across the street are nice, and take advantage of the free in town public transportation which makes getting to the other places in the town convenient, the only things i didn't like was they have on there page convenience like deli, laundry facilities and a couple more things they do not have, and i really needed the laundry facilities.
- Lois Jean (8/5): - This is an older property. The owners have made a very good attempt to improve the looks and overall running of the property...
Nothing was wrong... Just remember that this is a level ot stay that was available in the mid-1970's...
It's got it's own charm...
- Paul (10/5): - A little rough around the edges but nicely renovated. Where it's important. The floors are new. The beds are brand new and super comfortable. The water is ridiculously hot in the bathroom. The tub may be a little bit up and the walls may have patches a little bit, but it's clean and very comfortable and a great place if you need a spot in Ajo.
- Eugenie (8/5): - Convenient and clean. Good value for a place to rest head on a road trip.
- jerry (6/5): - The motel was old. The bedding was old.
But the room was clean, and it was a place to sleep. That's what I expected, and I appreciate it. It was quiet. The shower was good and the towels were nice and absorbent.
- Richard (10/5): - Very clean, rustic motel. Ouside very well kept. Convenient modern grocery store close. Gas station close. Wifi very slow.
- Danny (4/5): Caution - There was no internet, so no record of our reservation. They did not accept credit cards. The mattress in our room was wrapped in plastic which made crackling noises whenever we moved. It was a, generally, a drab experience.
- Donna (8/5): - I love the way they light up the exterior at night with strings of lights. East to find and cheerful
- Gwen (8/5): - Property is old, but your can tell they try. Pool was cold but clean. Minimal amenities. Cute garden area. Across the street from groceries.
- Alan (4/5): Bed and a TV for the night. - After returning from my early evening meeting, I discovered that there was no power / lights in the bathroom and kitchen area of the room. Too late in the evening to bother the office.
Left them a note in the key drop since the office was not open upon my departure.
Hopefully it will be fixed before the next guest arrives.
- John (10/5): - We arrived extremely late but was met by a very nice gentleman who was very kind and helped us get to our room quickly so we could get some rest. We were very tired from our drive.
- Nate (10/5): Great place in Ajo - Super cute little place right on the highway. Grocery store across the street (which closes at 6PM.....) but the room was comfy and quiet. It was too cold to use the pool, but it was clean and looked fun. Only about a mile from the eateries and such, but would definitely stay again if I'm in town.
- Jolyn (6/5): - Older property not updated. No restaurants in town that were open so we got food from IGA and gas station. But, everything worked and was clean. OK for the price.
- victor (2/5): - Ended up staying in a trailer that was not part of the main Motel building
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I didn't realize that I was booking a trailer for 2 nights. I never had that happen. It was in the back parking area. I would not recommend this property
- Dominique (8/5): - It’s a fine motel. Clean, safe, not noisy. It’s a bit old but it will not need a lot to look much better.
A little paint here and there, a few more trees, make it appealing.
I recommend this motel
- jean (2/5): - Heat kept going off and on, bed had rubber sheet underneath, lamps not plugged in, no outlet near microwave or coffeepot, refrigerator fell out shelf when opening door. No refund for second night not stayed
- Wolfgang (4/5): Very basic - The room was ok but the bathtub looked dirty, the chair was worn.
- Dawn (10/5): - Stayed in a room in the front of the property. Much better than staying in the back of the property. Could use some serious upgrades.
- Carol (6/5): - The room was clean but on the expensive side for the condition of the property. It did have a bar fridge which was great. It is on the highway so easy to get going in the morning.
- Rosa (8/5): - Great room for the price. Only thing missing was hot water for showers.
- Michael (8/5): - Nice!
- Brenda (2/5): - This place shouldn’t even be open. The flooring was coming off the floor. The electrical wasn’t not to date. They had the coffee maker and microwave plugged into an outlet next to the sink. The refrigerator didn’t work, it was so frosted up and had orange stains in it. My husband turned on the shower and the water hit the ceiling as it was missing a shower head. The pool had a plain garden hose to it and looked dirty. Never again. I took pictures and a video was I could add them to this review.
- Brittney (8/5): - easy walking to town
- Sonia (2/5): - Air conditioning never got cool. I got two rooms and the other room also never got cool. The floor was really dirty. My feet were black from all the dirt. Their was tagging on a corner wall. Room smelled. The pool was green.
- Christopher (10/5): - A pleasant, clean motel with a great staff and an easily accessible pool to cool down from the Arizona heat. Sparse but serviceable room, great internet access. Only drawback we found on a Tuesday was all five area restaurants were closed (at 4 p.m.!). Circle K hotdogs were the only option 😆.
- Ta'Brun (8/5): - This place is dated. HOWEVER! The staff or maybe it was the owner, was super awesome! Made you feel welcomed. And very friendly. The room was hot when we arrived. We just turned on the AC and let it cool down the room. We left for dinner while we waited. Again, its dated and need a major renovation but we would stay here again.
- Anna (8/5): - Room was old but clean, and service was excellent
- Daisy (10/5): - It was good for our quick stop at ajo
- BRITT-MARIE (4/5): - Tub, sinks below acceptable needs repair.
Outside door in poor condition and trim around door dirty.
Fridge in poor condition.
- William (10/5): - Extremely reasonable given the price.
- Jason (8/5): - Rooms are in better condition than I remember
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ultra ultra basic room -
The mattress was covered in plasticThere were 2 plugs that worked
Ants crawling in bathroom
Very inexpensive but we won’t stay again.
- Terry (10/5): - This motel was very peaceful. It has a nice cactus garden in front and a bench, which I used to enjoy the spectacular desert sunset. The gentleman who runs the place was very nice and has the place looking immaculate. It was a great place for me to stay and visit the Organ Pipe Cactus NM. If im ever in the area again I would definitely stay again. Price was good too.
- Frank (10/5): - The little town of Ajo is marvelous, as is this simple motel. Comfortable bed, quiet locationp, and a very pleasant gentleman running the place. I look forward to staying again.
- Kristina (10/5): - Easy check in
- joe (10/5): Great motel in Ayo AZ. - The hotel is a little older but everything was well maintained and clean. There was a grocery store, hardware store and a reasonable gas station on the opposite side of the road. The room was great
- Dennis (8/5): - Convenient location in awesome place.
- Elaine (8/5): - Staff friendly. Old motel but very clean
- Douglas (10/5): - Power failure so couldn’t evaluate everything
- Nancy (10/5): - Everything was good
- Leora and Cam (8/5): - The owner was very kind and gave us some oranges from his own tree in the back yard.
- Blake (6/5): - Wifi unusable due to low bandwidth
- Peter (8/5): - An authentic funky desert Inn!!
Independently owned. They are gracious and helpful.
I stayed in one of the trailers in the back which is
much quieter off the main highway.
- George (10/5): - It's a motor court, something you remember from the sixties where you park directly outside your room and always have quick access to items in the car. Very convenient! The room was small but adequate for two with queen bed, nice size shower--hot water--comfortable room heating and nice satellite TV plus microwave, fridge and coffeemaker in a separate side room. My only complaint was the outside security lights are bright and the old style window blinds weren't capable of blocking the light so the room isn't adequately dark at night. We were able to bring in a furniture pad from the truck to hang over the window and that darkened the room enough for a good night's sleep.
- Larry (4/5): - The room is in desperate need of repairs and upkeep. Floors are in terrible condition. Refrigerator, tiny, hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. Shower drains slowly and is dingy. Linen was clean. Pillows well worn. I took pictures. I am sure there are worse places but I certainly won’t be returning to this motel.
- david (2/5): - Charge me twice, contact ASAP
- Verified traveler (10/5): My Kind of Place! 😉 - I was a bit cold so providing an extra blanket would have been great. The bedspread wasn't quite warm enough even though the heater worked fine my other 1/2 likes it cooler. Also, the pillows were pretty flat so replacing them would be a good idea.
Thank you!
- Jeffrey (2/5): Unsafe - When I tried to unlock the deadbolt to go to the office to gripe about the poor wifi, it wouldn’t unlock! I had to remove the lock with the dinky little screw driver on my knife. The owner covered the resulting hole with tape.
I wanted a significant comp but he wouldn’t do more $10. Hotels.com should remove this place from their listings.
- Kandace (4/5): - The room smelt bad. The place was very old with no updates since the 70s I would say.
- Mary (4/5): - it’s very run down and the bathroom doors on the 3rooms we saw were extremely narrow
- Verified traveler (10/5): Extremely clean and convenient to Organ Pipe - The room and motel were extremely clean! The room was adequate and reasonable for our stay, though rooms could use to be updated. The location was very convenient to Organ Pipe Cactus and the border at Lukeville. This was a great choice for our one night in Ajo, and the sunset was amazing. We didn't use it, but the grocery store is directly across the highway within walking distance.
- Nayely (10/5): - It is more beautiful in person than in the picture and the inside is spacious, clean and nice and neat.. very well more than your moneys worth.. the tv channels are way better than what you’d expect.. very nice!!!
- valerie (8/5): - it was good
- Verified traveler (8/5): A modest option in Ajo - A perfectly ok place to stay in Ajo…quiet, clean…you get what you pay for
- David (10/5): - Nice older motel across from Olsen's IGA.
Comfortable bed good place to stay while visiting Ajo. Owners care about you highly recommend.
- Mónica (8/5): - Very pleasant, esp for the price!
- Erin (8/5): - This motel isn't too bad. My room was very clean and quiet. It's old and could use some renovations, but my bed was comfortable and the room was cleaner than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in. I'd stay here again.
- Theresa (6/5): - Hotel is very quaint
- Christa (8/5): - Very nice place, but overpriced for what it is. Get a room that faces away from the highway. It is pretty nice out the back and you may get a nice sunrise.
- John (10/5): - Owners were very friendly and helpful.
- Cynthia (10/5): Quiet, good AC - Clean and quiet. Comfy bed and excellent air conditioning.
- Ward (2/5): The Repairs Motel - Unbelievably poor condition, cleanliness and service. Pool green, no ice or any other amenity. Really sucks. Needs major repairs. Plumbing, paint, wallpaper, flooring, everything need upgrades, repair or replacement.
- Sharon (10/5): Good Value Older Style Motel - An older style basic motel that was very clean, tidy and quiet. The room was quite large, bathroom and the kitchenette were on the smallish side but all was very clean. The water in the shower was very hot which was great. The Owner/Manager was very helpful with information on where to eat. Would stay there again if in the area.
- William (2/5): - The pool was full of dirt and algae. The refrigerator barely worked. The TV remote froze on one channel and would not change. THE EAVES APPEARED TO BE ROTTING AND THE ROOM Floor APPEARED TO SAG AT POINTS WHEN YOU WALKED ON IT.
- Patrick (10/5): - Very quiet. Just off the highway. Staff was awesome.
- Ted (8/5): - It's the most affordable in the area and it was quite.
Thank you.
- Dan (8/5): - Basic comfort for a decent price .
- Alberto (10/5): - Was a great rate to stay. Also staff and front desk are alsome.Thank.younso much
- Alberto (10/5): - Great customer service
- Alberto (10/5): - I like the room i had the basic that's all i needed. Both housekeepers clean my room made the bed just like mom did. So thank you lady. And thanks for the area food recommendations. Again thank you. Ill be staying there again in the future.
- Kimberly (4/5): Wouldn’t go back - Checked in late at night so the office staff was not too friendly. The room was orderly but my complaints include:
Smelled like smoke
Dirty towels left in the bathroom
Toilet paper holder fell off into my hand
Holes in the plastic partitions
Filthy chairs
Overall I wouldn’t stay here again.
- Bolivar (2/5): - Room's condition was very poor. Bathroom shower was duty.
- Casey (6/5): - Don’t expect much.
- Juanita (8/5): - Standard issue small town motel. Bed was comfy and it was quiet. Grocery store and gas station across the street. A couple restaurants down the road. Bathroom shower could have been cleaner but other than that a fine stay.
- Alma (10/5): - great staff, location and price
- Stanton (4/5): - Staff was helpful and friendly, but this place needs serious love. Wi-Fi poor, tv didn’t work, no hot water, lots of built up grunge, furniture worn and stained. After 3 different rooms, moved me to an upgraded room. Better but not great. There are better choices in Ajo.
- Serge (6/5): - There was a party that took over the whole property for the night. Literally, all night from 9pm until 5am. Loud music, loud conversations. No one to complain to - office is closed. Only ear plugs and patience.
- Virgil (10/5): The truth - Car broke down and had no where to go so here we are
- Akiko (10/5): - Having a microwave and mini refrigerator was definitely a plus.
They are directly across from the iGA market with a good selection of groceries, produce and hardware, plus a small deli.
I was placed in a room on the back side of the property which would have less highway noise.
- Carol (6/5): - Linda Sue was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Her staff was the same. Property and room in disrepair but by no means a reflection on staff.
- Arlan (6/5): ok I guess - Well I wasn't impressed. Kind of run down and unorganized.
- Marsha (10/5): - We would stay there again. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Easy access.
- Lee (10/5): - It doesn't look like much from the road, but my room was very clean, and fairly modern. The area is very quiet and safe. There's a grocery store across the road. I had changed my reservation day a few days before and this didn't get communicated to the hotel, but the lady working at the front desk was very helpful and was able to get me a room. She's the best!
- Juanita (6/5): - Price was good. Room was too small and very out dated. I don’t think I’d stay there again.
- Robert (8/5): - Good for price
- Cyndy (10/5): - Reasonable price, clean, close to national park areas and two good restaurants.
- Dennis (6/5): - Apparently the managers were away on a family emergency. The double room we booked had been given away and the twin bed we used was uncomfortable. All n all we made the best of it.
