Everything was great. We weren't used to the way the parts of the home are heated separately, or how to turn on the hot water in accommodations like this but a manual is provided and the Google Translate app helped.

• Chikako (9/5): 年末年始を楽しく、静かに過ごすことができました - ・京都東山の寺社や観光スポットを徒歩で周ることができる立地の良さ ・四条河原町も徒歩圏内なので外食やショッピングなどにも便利 ・路地を入ったところにあるのでとても静か ・近くに食品スーパーもあるので、足らないものがあってもすぐに買いに行ける。長期滞在にぴったり。まるで京都に住んでいるような時間を楽しむことができる ・室内はリノベーションされていて快適に過ごせる。水廻りも綺麗でお風呂も追い焚きができるタイプなので便利。シャワー水圧も十分。 ・宿泊前に不明点を確認した際に、管理者様が丁寧に対応してくださった。

• Ekaterina (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here - a cozy place that captures the authentic local community vibe while being strategically located for exploring Kyoto. The host was amazing and incredibly helpful. We absolutely loved it!
• Alexander (10/5): Quiet beautiful renovated old town house - Really lovely place in the middle of Kyoto old town. It’s in a side street so you don’t notice a lot of the crowds going up the hill to tick off Sannenzaka, Kiyomizu-dera, etc., but you are at all the main sights within five to ten minutes. There is a nice coffee shop/bakery just two houses down the street which was really nice in the morning. The house itself has a huge living room, large bathroom, a relatively well equipped kitchen, and is just in general really nicely decorated. Definitely a good place to stay! Apparently the address is difficult to find for taxi drivers, since the name means basically townhouse and Higashiyama is the quarter it is in (quote: “there are a lot of Machiyas in Higashiyama”), if you give the street name and address in Latin letters, there can be several Japanese spellings. In short: be prepared to guide your driver with google maps or something!

• Jill (9/5): Lovely stay in authentic Japanese dwelling in great location. - The location was excellent . Very clean . Quality products supplied. Clear instructions. Lovely to stay in Japanese style house. Quiet neighbourhood. Stairs were somewhat steep.
• Jeffrey (9/5): Owner is SUPER nice!! - location, quiet, spacious, clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, kitchen with everything.. washer, fancy toilet! As you may have read on some other posts, when first entering the apt., there as a moldy smell, BUT it disappeared after running the air conditioner for a while and NEVER returned the entire 9 days we were there. I mentioned this to the owner and he took it into account. I imagine he will just simply run the air or the heat a few hours before guests arrive. And again, even if he doesn't, this odor will disappear!! The check in process was a bit bumpy because I didn't notice the photo of how to use the key pad was on a weblink and not with all the other photos BUT, but the owner will fix that and have all the photos together. And then NO ONE should ever have a problem. Very easy and quick to get in!

• Meghna (8/5): well situated townhouse in Kyoto! - Very nice apartment in a very convenient location for our family of 4! Being walking distance from Gion and Higashiyama area was amazing, but the neighborhood was still very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen area is extremely well stocked as well. We deeply appreciate the hosts for their communication and assistance as well - our luggage got delivered earlier than we had expected (despite requesting a later delivery time), and someone stored our belongings inside the apartment even though we were not there to accept it ourselves. We never would have expected that and were incredibly grateful. We wish that there had been a small futon or couch in the common area as there was no great place to comfortably sit together for our family.

Such a great neighbourhood with so many little alleyways to wonder up and down. Beautifully appointed and such a lovely feel with all the wood and vibrant tiled kitchen and bathroom area. Although we knew that the second bedroom had Japanese style futons, we expected them to be a little more comfortable for adults( also because they didn’t fit flat in that room). You also lose the cupboard space unless you roll up the bed in the daytime. Perhaps they need to be a bit thicker.

• Maile (8/5): Good experience. Nice neighborhood near Nitta Bakery. - Location was excellent. Small space but comfortable. So many instructions. If you didn’t follow exactly, remember every detail or didn’t have wifi to review, it would be difficult which it was for us.
• Karen (8/5): Nice to be in the heart of Gion - The location was perfect, as well as the facilities in the house. The staff was very helpful. I think small things would make our stay much better: some water bottles' coffee and tea bags on the arrival - like in every hotel. The rooms was to bright and we woke up very early with the light from outside. The mattress in the child room was to thin and not comfortable.

Very clean with space to relax in-between activities or at the end of the day. The apartment has everything you need and is and easy walk to bus-stops, restaurants, and temples and historical areas. The two floor mattresses in the second room are okay if you sleep on your back but a little hard for side sleepers. The two western beds in the main bedroom are very comfy.

• Alexis (10/5): Really fantastic property in a very special neighborhood - The location is fabulous and the accommodation is truly fabulous. You really feel immersed. They give you everything you need to really make that stay unique. There is even a great little atrium. The bakery is on the corner and the grocery is just around the corner. Every day is special there.
