The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The unit was perfect for our needs—comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The grounds and surrounding area are absolutely beautiful and very tranquil, creating the ideal setting for a relaxing getaway.

Owners obviously dont value their guests or care much about repeat business - the location not much else The evening meal was supposed to be wood fired pizza but they were obviously frozen and barely edible. There was a large party of drunken guests who took over the pool area with crates of booze then moved inside when it started raining so no one else could use the lounge/bar area. Drunks changing babies nappies on the restaurant dining table was the last straw for me.

We had to drive out looking for restaurant. - Location is good ,but the road to the lodge is not conducive especially to a person driving a small car. There is no restaurant in the lodge. The primary goal was to rest, enjoy food being prepared. Driving out after conditioning yourself that you have to rest was a very bad experience.

Leonie (9/5): Superb - This is a piece of paridise. So peaceful - even on New years day. The hosts are great and are there to help with all your needs. We also took a ride on the tubes and swam in the river. We had a braai next to the swimming pool every day. Best New year I had in years!

Feels like you're staying in a tropical jungle. The power to our aircon was switched off the one evening for reasons unknown. The shower needs a shower door as the water sprays all over.

Lundi (8/5): Relaxed, beautiful environment. Immersed in nature, and the beautiful sounds of the Umtamvuna River - Beautiful setting! Stunning property with a mountain around! Safe and secure! Simply stunning It’s old, and unkempt. Not much maintenance…seems they’ve decided to just make it a cash cow; not much being reinvested to keep it up.

The photos were not accurate to what we got to,the area is not easily accessible and the weird stares from the people at the facility were not reassuring,I felt out of place, the environment was not as welcoming as I had hoped.

Daren (1/5): POOR QUALITY FOR A LOT OF MONEY - The accommodation was overpriced for the stay. You have to constantly travel out for food. The location is amazing , but all the facilities need urgent attention! You can't help but feel like the floor beneath you is going to break... it's almost impossible to eat close to river because everything stinks and is extremely dusty. Milk was spoilt and not changed for I don't know how long. Aircons were switched off. Lights not working... toilets were clogged. Really overcharged!

We could not sleep because the kids were jumping and making noise past midnight. We went to unwind but even their pillows were uncomfortable. We left just before 8am on Saturday morning and the owner never had the decency to contact us and find out what was wrong. Will not be returning there .

The breakfast was 11/10 Traveled with my wife and 7month old made our stay so comfortable and they where so accommodating to our requests. The boat cruise is a must such amazing views. Elizabeth (4/5): Amazing property but check if water/electricity are functioning and roads are okay for normal cars! - This is an absolutely beautiful setting! Beyond magnificent and AMAZING STAFF!!! We were lucky to have rented a mini SUV otherwise a “normal” car would never have made it over the roads. The government and private roads were terrible and we were also without hot water for 48 hours!!! But no rebate provided.

Sunil (1/5): Rather not... - The location. Low level on-site staff and aloof owner. Toilet not flushing, shower cubicle leak, smoke from downstairs pizza oven into kitchen. No hot water throughout the lodge for 24 hours whilst the owner Kevin admotyed to be attend to business elsewhere. Ignored calls and messages, only answered when I called from a staff member's phone. He took exception when asked how him attending to other business was helping his lodge full of guests. Hung up and blocked my number. No apology whatsoever for the series of problems. Rather spend your money elsewhere and avoid these stresses. Incidentally, none of these problems were during public holidays, but each took between 24 and 48 hours to resolve.

The lodge gardens and pool area are perfect for relaxing with the family. Rooms are neat and clean! A little TLC is required here and there, yet if you're willing to overlook this and focus on the beauty of nature around you, then you'll have a wonderful time.
