Guest Reviews
- Blake (10/5): - It is a good option
- Greg (8/5): - I read the many negative comments - but used my intuition. The Homee is a really fun and interesting place. The neighborhood is vibrant with almost no expats wandering around. The Homee itself seems to be kind of a place for university students to stay. It has a nice open-air cafe on the 4th floor. I had daily cleaning (including fresh towels daily). It's a funky place in a funky neighborhood. No, it's not near the tourist crap. If you want the tourist crap, don't stay here. It's in a good general location for visiting D1, D4, D7. Lots so super cheap local restaurants. Endless Vietnamese-style coffee shops, laundries, barbers. It's a slice of Old Saigon right in the middle of New Saigon. If you need Western stuff, the Vivo Mall is a 5 minute walk. If you want to completely escape all that, the streets immediately surrounding The Homee Cozy are for you. (Note: In all rooms, the beds are up a set of narrow and/or curvy stairs. I'm a big, burley guy and I made it. I'd have preferred the bed was not up those steps - but that's the way it is at the Homee Cozy. If you don't want this, don't stay here.) I saw some comments about impolite staff; I found the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The place is well used. It's frayed. I completely enjoyed it and will return as long as it exists - but I guess the developers are coming. I'd give it 5 stars - but it's not a 5 star place. It's a really good place and a great value!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very small room not portrayed too well in photos. Bed was up a dangerous & small spiral staircase where even my 5 ft 4 in tall wife hit her head! I am 6 ft tall so imagine. No bottled water or even a tea bag in room and very small sachets of soap & shampoo. Our worst experience thru Expedia.
- Michael (4/5): room with a loft - Someone wrote in a review that the ceiling was too low and didn't understand. I was in 104 and there is a loft you go up steep stairs where the ceiling is now low if you are taller or average height. The air/con didn't work very good. They provide soap and shampoo in packets but they are near impossible to open to use. I had to get a metal chopstick from the kitchen drawer to stab a hole in it to be able to shower. The bed was comfortable, wifi ok, many restaurants in the area. I don't think I will return. I'm 70 and the steep stairs up and down just to use the bathroom not my kind of exercise I need at 4 am.
- John (8/5): Consistency is a good thing - We stay at the Homer quite regularly for business, in total, over 70 days a year. It’s a nice place. The best thing is the consistent quality and management’s desire to maintain and improve quality.
- John (8/5): Thank you for a nice stay - The staff super was super, as always.
There was a minor annoyance: ants.
The ants have been a minor hassle this last year. They seem to make their way all around the apartment, even into the bedding.
There aren’t a lot of ants, but they bite. And so that’s an uncomfortable situation at times.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a giod stay at the property once again. Good hospitality has been extended by the staff.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Water fell down the air conditioner as hard as rain. I have to call receptionist immediately and they moved me to new room. Of course, I had to pay for additional charges each night, in clude the first night I couldn’t sleep due to the AC. It shouldn’t be a problem if they say sorry.
Room is small, looks messy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a nice stay. The staff are friendly and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay. Thanks
- RV (10/5): - Clean and well-maintained
- Ivy (6/5): - The receptionist wasnt friendly nor helpful, when we had young child n baggages.
Made booking for 3 pax, was allocate a room with queen bed n 2 pillows only. Only 2 towels are given too. Duvet had no topsheet, hygiene issues if u have sensitive skin.
- kaan (10/5): Great room but far from downtown. - Cute clean place with loft bed, nice staff too. A bit far from downtown.
Really enjoyed our stay.
- Larry (8/5): - Everything is tolerable except wifi,it needs upgraded and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way
- Verified traveler (8/5): - very nice,reasonably priced,very friendly staff,convenient
- Verified traveler (8/5): Worth the money! - Good bang for your buck. Service (or lack thereof) is typical for budget lodgings in Vietnam (don't expect too much!). I booked online at a given rate, and asked reception to extend my booking for a couple days, and was quoted a different rate (higher) than what I paid online. I didn't have my wallet with me, so I told the clerk I was going to pay the next day. Came back next morning, spoke to a different clerk, who quoted me another price that is even higher than what I was quoted the evening before. Very strange! Other than that, I enjoyed my stay, and would book again. I recommend to only book online if you can, because you know exactly how much instead of being quoted different rates from different receptionists. Also, be wary of housekeeping, they ate some of my snacks that I left in the fridge. If you can't trust them with food, sure as heck don't trust to leave any valuable in the room when you go out.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mediocre Studio. - Location was great and convenient. Checking in was easy, nice staff.
The apartment itself was average. Smaller than what the photograph looks like - it’s a split loft so the floor to ceiling is actually smaller and we couldn’t stand up straight in most areas. The walls are thin, we could hear the neighbors play some roll the dice game. Bathroom wasn’t clean when we arrived - had hair all over the floor. Towels - use your own, these looked/felt like old rags. AC was very good. Bed was comfortable. Although we were on the upper floors, still had ants. Our booking was for 2 nights, spent little time there due to the size - felt like a dollhouse and so we were only there to sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - To make the check in easier i would recommend to print out in paper form because the staff couldn’t find our booking at first. The room is nice, the rooftop cafe is good. The neighborhood is friendly with plenty of food around.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very lovely room and ambience but wish the laundry ladies would come later and stop knocking so early in the morning ruining our sleep.
- The Viet (10/5): - The stair steps need to installed wider and bigger which are
