Guest Reviews
- haney (10/5): - Our experience was great from check-in to check-out. Ririn, Erni and all the wonderful staff at Borobudurhills made sure we had a very pleasant stay. They went above and beyond to arrange tours, provide transportation and even order food at a local restaurant for us. The premises are clean and organized. Our room was perfect. Very spacious, clean, elegant and had all we needed to enjoy our stay. The best feature was the magnificent view of Bodobudur Temple and Merapi Volcano from our infinity pool.
- Alexandre Karim (9/5): -
- Lucab (8/5): Good, simple hotel with Borobudur views. - Nice, simple hotel close to Borobudur Temple. Some rooms have views of Mt Merapi and Borobodur. Breakfast was good. Some rooms have private pools which is lovely. The lower ground rooms are musty.
- Ben9078 (10/5): Convenient place so that you can get on the earliest temple tour before the sun gets too hot. - Room with pool had a nice view of Borobudur. Limited menu but the food was good. The temple was only 15 minutes away by car. Took us nearly two hours to reach the place from Yogyakarta airport due to the narrow roads and traffic, but the drive was pleasant enough.
- Mishell (9/5): Awesome stay - The bed very comfy, clean room, good location, great view, delicious breakfast, excellent service, love the blackout curtains. Just suggestions to make the place better. No bathtub. The hair dryer needs new replacement. Swimming pool need extra water so it can act as infinity pool. Minor things
- Edo (10/5): What an amazing hotel! - What an amazing hotel is this. The service was amazing. And so is the view over the hills of Borobudur. I read about the poor breakfast so I was a little worried. I don’t know how people think the breakfast was simple and poor. Everything was freshly made, typical Indonesian and a lot of choice and variety. If you don’t like this type of food consider stay at home with your scrambled eggs and burgers you culture barbarian :)
- Atika (8/5): Very good -
- Annelies (8/5): Very good - The place was really relaxed and life seemed to move at a slow pace. The rooms were super clean, staff very friendly and the view from the balcony was amazing Breakfast was good but we only got breakfast for 2 people so we had to share with the kids. Which was oke but it also meant only 2 drinks which was weird
- Walter (7/5): Good - the location close to the borobudur temple.
quiet place. the breakfast was very limited. (same is dinner basically and English breakfast)
no view over borobudur or the hills except when you go to the roof of the kitchen.
- Daniel (7/5): Not the best, but not the worst too - Room with pool access was good, very quiet at night. My door was spoilt, there was heavy creaking sound whenever I opened it. The staff also could not really communicate in English
- Trish (8/5): Private Pool! - The key value-add of Borobudurhills is the availability of a private pool so definitely go for the Villa with Private Pool! Our private pool turned out slightly bigger than I had expected so I was pleasantly surprised. The entire outdoor area was really really nice with the large lounger perfect for a cuddle. We would have had a completely quiet and peaceful stay if not for the muslim prayers that were regularly broadcasted throughout the day, but that's beyond the management's control. Special thanks to the management as well for accommodating our date change directly even though this was not an option in our original booking. While our room had all the essentials, it could level up its aesthetics. This, plus the slightly off-grid location with no F&B options around (we ordered Grab food delivery) did feel like a slight mismatch with the price point of Boroburdurhills.
- Naser (5/5): Passable -
- Jenny (7/5): Good - Breakfast is good That we can park our car closely to The hotel lobby
- Jy (5/5): Passable - The view Cleanliness, and no full toiletries. Towels not soft. Food is limited
- Lai (7/5): Good - Good
- Lama (10/5): The worker is very good - The location is very good I like 👍 it I can see through the window Borobudur temple
It's amazing 👏
- Claude (9/5): I recommend, the price is good. - Being away from traffic, rented a motorbike, it was perfect.
The view of the Candi Borobudur, the breakfast was excellent.
The staff was sweet and helpful. A mosquito net would have been nice, perfect temperature to sleep with the door open.
Internet was very poor.
- Anonymous (9/5): beautiful, tranquile place with stunning view (especially at sunrise) - We loved the amazing view on Borobudur & Merapi Vulcan from the villa, sunrise was a real treat! The privat swimmingpool with the same view was very nice as well. Breakfast was great also, we could make unlimited toast, they had chocolatepaste & peanutbutter which the kids loved. It is a really nice & tranquile place.
They arranged a car with chauffeur for us to drive through the area and we visited a lovely Batik place where we could make our own Batik, it was set in a beautiful garden with a lot of trees from which they used to make natural colourings. They showed us a lot. We went to another place to do pottery and to a really nice warung for lunch. It was a great trip. It is a pity that there is the electricity (?) pole that was between Merapi and Borobudur, but even then views were still breathtaking.
- Chris (8/5): - Clean, quiet, and felt very private. Away from the busy town but stil very close to everything.
The wifi was a little spotty.
- R (10/5): - Comfortable and relaxing with spectacular view .very nice, and helpful host & crew . Delicious breakfast and dinner
- Tan (10/5): - All d staff and d lady boss are very Friendly and helpful. Food in d hotel is excellent. Very quiet n relaxed place.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel provided stunning views of the main attraction -- Borobudur Temple and the surrounding hills. However, the room was a monastic cell. There was absolutely no furniture beyond a bed and table and chair; the bathroom finish was like that of a youth hostel; several aspects of the room needed repair -- door, electrical fixtures, etc. The road to the hotel is not very accessible and there is no place you can walk to and get a dinner that is different from the simple fare provided by the hotel. On the plus side, beyond the views, there was a small private pool and there is a nice garden. The staff tried hard to please with apparently limited resources and has limited English language skills. The hotel needs substantial INVESTMENT to realize its full potential, which is substantial.
