• Justus (10/5): Wunderbar zentral und modern eingerichtet - Sehr zentral in Porto, tolle Restaurants direkt in der Nachbarschaft. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und schön ausgestattet. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit. Es gab nichts!

• Rosie (3/5): Very stuffy room and broken air con - Good location 2 of 3 air con units didn't work, including one in the very stuffy upstairs bedroom. One in lounge constantly dripped water when on. We had to place a pan then a bucket under it but were too worried of flooding to keep on. Unfortunately resulted in a very hot and comfortable stay. Messaged property as soon as we arrived with these issues but were told an engineer couldn't be sent out due to the holiday weekend (we were there 5 nights). Have been emailing booking about this since being home and apartment denied any of this occurred, despite be having all communication with them and can easily prove it did! Whole thing is very unfortunate as I'm not one to leave negative reviews but we could have got a much cheaper apartment without air con and feel more could have been done to help.

• Roxana (9/5): Great Stay in a Perfect Porto Location - We had a great stay at this apartment in Porto. The space was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location was excellent—close to everything we wanted to see and do, which made getting around really easy. The host was also very responsive and easy to reach whenever we had questions. Overall, a smooth and enjoyable experience, and we would definitely stay here again. The only minor thing to note is that the apartment we had was on an upper floor with quite a few stairs, which might be something to keep in mind if you have heavy luggage or mobility concerns—but that’s pretty typical for buildings in Europe.

• Camilla (7/5): - Beliggenhed, behagelige seng, veludstyret køkken,funktionelt og behageligt indrettet Det altoverskyggende var lugten i de to soveværelser. Det ene værelse havde ikke noget vindue og begge værelser havde gennemtrængende lugt af mug. Vi vågnede op med hovedpine og gener i luftvejene allerede efter den første nat. Og vi endte med at det ene par sov i stuen Der var skimmel i vindueskarme og lofter. Det påvirker vores samlede oplevelse af en ellers dejlig lejlighed.

A lot of information including pictures of id which booking.com states you should never send was required to send via WhatsApp, which I strongly disliked. No luggage storage on site.

• Sven-Uwe (10/5): Großer Luxus in sehr guter Lage. - Die Unterkunft war sehr luxuriös und großzügig. Es gab zwei Schlafzimmer und auch das zweite Schlafzimmer hatte eine zusätzliche Toilette. Wir hatten viel Platz und in der Wohnung gab eine umfangreiche Ausstattung mit Küche und Geschirr für 6 Personen. Das Apartment war komplett neu eingerichtet und das Haus frisch saniert. Es waren kaltes Wetter in Porto. Deshalb haben wir uns sehr gefreut, dass wir mit der Klimaanlage die Wohnung auch angenehm heizen konnten. Zur Begrüßung haben wir uns über eine gute Flasche Wein gefreut. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! Wir waren inzwischen schon sieben mal in Porto. Dies war unsere beste Unterkunft. Unser Appartement lag in der 4. Etage. Aber wir waren sportlich unterwegs.

• Sean (10/5): - Perfect for a short or extended stay. Apartment is an ideal size for a couple to have space and it is very romantic. The kitchen and bathroom are not on top of you. We did not use the kitchen but it is very well appointed and would be great to cook in. Our apartment had a classic meets modern look that felt high quality. Very quiet considering the location. Great location within easy walking distance of most attractions, metro, Sao Bento and about a 15 min. walk to Gaia. Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again. Celina and her staff are excellent hosts and they answered all of our questions within a couple hours. We loved our time in Porto and this apartment was a big reason why!!!

• Christina (9/5): Authentic Porto Apartments is EXACTLY that... AUTHENTIC... you will not be disappointed! - This was our third stay at Authentic Porto Apts. It is close to all things touristy and fun! A 5-minute DOWNHILL walk will get you to the Ribeira district with its fantastic scenery and the Douro River views. The apartment is also close to many attractions, the Bolsa (Treasury Dept.), Sao Bento Train station, Clergios Tower. Lelo Bookstore are all within a 5-10 minute walk. No need to rent a car if you're staying within the city limits. In terms of decor, the apartment is just as pictured in the photos. Stone walls line the interior of the apartment giving it an authentic feel and the rooms are comfy, clean and cozy. Our host met us to hand over the keys and collect payment. (you pay when you arrive at the location). A wonderful experience overall. Having to lug our suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. It's an older heritage building so there is no hope of ever getting an elevator added to the building. The uphill climb to get to the apartment from the Ribeira area is ALOT, but that's just the way Porto is built.. ALL UP HILL!

Hosts were very good and communicative, but one small negative about the communication was that I had already put all guest and payment information into Booking.com, but I had to re-enter everything through WhatsApp directly to the host. I would rather have only had to do that once. Also, I received check-in information less than 24 hours before my check-in, which was cutting it close.

Clean, well designed, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring. Nice touch with an included bottle of white. Great tips for the city. Self check and out was a breeze. Host was great on checking in on us both at start and finish of time there. I asked for extra pillows and they were there for us when we arrived. I messaged them, but did not receive the check-in info; but once we arrived and called, they answered and checked us in straight away). The apartment was spacious, comfortable and exactly as described. I highly recommend this place with one caveat: if you have heavy luggage, it is quite a challenge…so pack light and save your legs for the hilly city

The location was perfect - a short walk to the hustle of the river front and also in the other directions to cool areas of the city. There was a bakery at the top of the road for early morning pastries and convenience shops about 5 mins walk. It was probably 10 mins walk from São Bento station. The apartments were clean spacious and comfy. They had great facilities including enough coffee and tea and essentials for a few days (tho no milk so buy that in if you use it). But there's a fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and toaster, hairdryer. Would definitely recommend! Thanks :)

• Naga (5/5): I wouldnt stay in this place ever again. - I loved that its walkable to most attractions. It is otherwise in a narrow street and most taxis dropped us at the end of the street, although its just a few steps from the end of street, carrying luggage and a toddler down the street and up the stairs is no joke. The facilities are basic, there is one bathroom which is out dated and had a terrible smell, not sure if its the reed diffuser or what, it was unbearable. My kids didnt even want to use it. The TV is like a monitor size, not a smart one. Everything in the house like decor is completely ancient and appears to be coming from a garage sale. There are like windows only in living room and kitchen, none in the bedrooms, made us claustrophobic. I couldn’t wait to check out of that place. I cannot understand how this place has ratings like this on booking.com. Besides that it’s walking accessible to most locations and in the center, beds are comfortable, there is nothing great about this place and it needs a total revamp especially the bathroom which I totally hated. I apologize for this review but these are the facts.

• Hua (8/5): Very good - Convenient location. Apartment is clean, spacious and well decorated. Host is helpful and responsive. No elevator, and no luggage storage service on site. Check-in time is fixed (you have to set up the time to meet the host to get the key).

• Margaret (9/5): Couldn't have asked for a better location! - The location was perfect for walking all over the city. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see, including the pick-up location for our wine tour, the river, the main bridge to cross the river, and numerous amazing restaurants. There are 2 gelato places around the corner! If you don't like stairs, find out ahead of time which floor you will be on. We were on the top floor, so we had 4 flights of stairs to climb with our suitcases. Personally, I think its location and the 2 bathrooms we had more than made up for this, but if you have mobility problems it's definitely good to check ahead of time.

• Juliette (7/5): BEWARE. The air quality is terrible and there is NO privacy. - The apartment is clean and conveniently located. The beds are comfortable and the place is large. The bathroom has plenty of towels and nice toiletries. Access to the condo was difficult and stressful. We were granted a late arrival but were not given the entry code until 4 hours before arrival!! We were asked to meet at 10am during our vacation to pay them CASH. We were given one set of keys, limiting freedom of each of us 2 to move about at will; upon request, we were given a 2nd set on last day of our stay which did not work!!. The 2nd bedroom has no window or door to outside, hence no ventilation or natural light. The whole place is musty and terrible if you have allergies. The door to 2nd bedroom has no latch and does not close securely limiting privacy. There are no curtains at the front windows, only shutters. So guests must choose between privacy and light and fresh air. (Construction workers/diners who are 40 ft across the street can look into the place.) Less important but also contributing to overall impression are non-stick skillets with unsafe-for-cooking scratched surfaces and only espresso-sized cups. The host was unreasonable and not helpful demanding cash and providing keys that didn't work.

• Kelly (8/5): Nice apartment centrally located. - The apartment was well cared for and neat. There was ample space in the apartment and it was in an area of town that was convenient to everything. The host was kind and left us a bottle of port as a welcome gift. There was very little or no natural light in the bedrooms. The kitchen was lacking some things like coffee cups, where they provided only espresso sized cups yet a coffee maker, not an espresso maker. The water heater was out in the kitchen area and was quite loud. It would have been nice to have a couple more comfortable chairs in the living room area as there was only the couch and dining room type chairs. There was ample space for places to drop off bags out of the way of the housekeeping staff while they were finishing cleaning the rooms before check-in however they provided absolutely no flexibility with this.

• Senthil Kumar (10/5): - Very convinent place to stay! Close to everything,great location. If you arrive late, please contact the property earlier, there is no one around to check in. Miguel was really very responsive on what’s app. Only comment for travellers is if you have luggage to store after checkout, they don’t store it in the property. Porto is very hilly and you cannot drag the luggage around. Also, the cleaners arrived exactly at 11 and knocked on the door putting pressure to checkout on time. I would have given a 5 star otherwise.

• Scott (8/5): Would stay again - Massive apartment and lovely location….very central . Some people would struggle with steps up…no issue for us and we were fully aware. Ran out of hot water.

• Rachel (9/5): Excellent location, excellent apartment, make sure you’re fit enough for the stairs! - Location brilliant for exploring the old town! Lovely modern interior in an old building. Great kitchen facilities, comfortable beds and hot shower. Staff were excellent and very accommodating to our requests. We had a housekeeping emergency due to one of our children being ill and they responded quickly without any fuss or any extra charges. We were on top floor so 4 flights of stairs with big cases and a toddler every day, without a lift, was tough. Middle window in the lounge was very low so we felt we couldn’t open with a toddler.
