Guest Reviews
- Uzzo (1/5): - 18 year old cannot check in but it doesn’t tell you that in the booking process. Door lock to pool rooftop was broken. Top floor smells like septic.
- Dustin (10/5): -
- Merideth (7/5): I appreciated the nice staff, but noted they are apologizing a lot for things that make no sense not to fix. - I liked the location and the staff and the gym and pool. Many things that didn’t work or were missing. No decaf coffee anywhere on premises. Not sure why but my room phone (landline) didn’t work, and wasn’t able to be fixed or replaced during my stay. The dehumidifier ran full volume and couldn’t be shut off or turned down without someone with a tool kit to help. Several outlets and lamps not functional in my room. Which was a nice room on 9th floor.
- Z8187WQtaylora (10/5): Exceptional services from the front desk team - We were greeted by Lauren at the front desk after a long drive from Roberta, Georgia, where we had attended my father’s funeral. My boyfriend and I had a flight back to California the next day, and since my mom lives in another part of Florida, we invited her to stay the night with us before she drove back to Panama City.
Originally, we had booked a king room, but we realized it didn’t include a pull-out couch. We explained the situation to Lauren, and despite the hotel being extremely busy, she went above and beyond to accommodate us. She could tell we were exhausted and stressed, and her kindness and hospitality truly stood out.
Lauren genuinely cared about the comfort of her guests and upgraded us to a larger room so my mom could get some rest before her drive home. I’m very impressed with both her exceptional service and the hotel overall. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay in the area.
- Jet31865829079 (10/5): Clutch room swap! - We had a last minute family member needing to stay with us but we had a single king bed. But the front desk agent Lauren helped us with a different room instead of a rollable bed! I would’ve have never thought! Amazing accommodations and fast and helpful. 10/10
- K4554SSmonicam (10/5): Great Valet Experience - Our valets, Ben, Garrett, and Mason, were friendly, fast, efficient, and offered us water when we needed the car during the hot weather.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Could be a fabulous hotel with some extra care and attention to detail . - The position was great , nice rooms , The rooms were not very clean .
The pool terrace area was filthy . Dead plants everywhere , filthy floor , broken lights , doors and glass dirty
- G2504ZSbryand (10/5): Ethan is the best - I love Ethan he’s so awesome sauce he was such a help and was there for my every need!
- Carol (8/5): The money was raised to my mind that I paid so much money to just sleep and have a quick bite for dinner not much on the - The hotel was very nice and I enjoyed my stay. There was no place to eat in the afternoon and the bar was closed also. There was nothing to do in the hotel.
- Lindsay (8/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): Staff cheerful, helpful and friendly, great place to stay! - Dropped in on my way to a work conference and the staff was amazing! Lauren is a gem and helpful! Nick took care of parking quickly. Clean safe spot! Staff & Location
- Kristen (10/5): Wonderful - Location, cleanliness. The beds were too hard for my liking.
- U8104DOkimberlyk (10/5): Very accommodating valet staff - Valet Andrew & Braxton are excellent!
- andreadS1848HB (10/5): Great service - go Nicholas and Lauren! - Nicholas and Lauren were amazing staff! Nicholas was great at valet and provided amazing guest service. Lauren was wonderful at the front desk! Great night staff!!! 5 stars - get more employees like then. Thank you.
- 148audraa (10/5): What a memorable experience - Andrew at valet was the best part of my experience. He was always on point with my needs and assuring that they were met. Thank you Andrew
- MikeBaublit (8/5): One of the best in Gainesville! - Great location, staff was very professional and friendly. Every request we had was answered almost instantly, and especially the housekeeping team and the valet crew (including Braxton A who was awesome!). The only issue we had was breakfast (food was below average, juice was spoiled), to include not being able to make espressos as they said the machine worked but they have been unable to get pods/coffee (the chef said he has been ordering for weeks). We ended up having breakfast at Starbucks each morning.
- Sarah (10/5): Conveniently located, clean and comfortable stay with great staff! - Great location, clean, comfortable, nice bar, nice gym, friendly staff Sink had no water pressure, trickled out, but that’s my only complaint and honestly no big deal!!
- dannylamontw (10/5): Royal Treatment - The team at the AC Hotel Gainesville Downtown, gave me hope when it comes to customer service. I didn’t think that anyone could out do Chick-fil-A, but the team that took care of me and my car did exceed all expectations. This team alone is a reason to choose this facility while you are staying in the area. They provide royal treatment and always had something nice to say while providing you with a bottle of cold water for your enjoyment. Whenever I will be staying in the area or surrounding area, I will choose AC Hotel Gainesville Downtown.

- Journey54800691006 (10/5): Wedding stay - It was a great place to stay at for a wedding, we really enjoyed it. The whole experience was amazing and it felt very welcoming.
- robertwS1295FX (10/5): Lauren, Thomas, and Kyra!!! - Lauren, Thomas, and Kyra were all phenomenal!!! My wife and I drove 6 hours from The Keys and we got in at 11pm. Lauren helped me on the phone during my trip up, upgrading us to a suite and always being bubbly and professional, despite me being tired from my trip. Kyra continued the same energy when we arrived. Mr. Marriott would be proud. My wife wanted a glass of red wine before bed. Thomas was nice enough to serve us even though the bar was closing. Kudos to leadership at this property for training the staff, holding them accountable, and rewarding them for execution of Marriott's highest standards. Please reward these three individuals, as they will be difficult to replace in this labor market.
- Vicki (10/5): We would definitely come back! - Convenient to everything… clean, very nice and updated feeling. Valet parking only and you had to pay… and pay for another day after 8 am… that bothered me…
- Carlos (7/5): Good hotel with great location for our needs, but overpriced for what they offer. - Good location for the FSU graduation ceremony Room needs mora light and a better shower.
- Ken (10/5): Perfect - The whole vibe. The breakfast buffet was the nicest I’ve seen. The bar was a welcoming beautiful spot to relax in.
- Betsy (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Jessie (8/5): - Modern. Very comfortable bed. Very kind staff. Great location. The room was very dirty. Dirty floors (turned our socks black), dusty corners.
- Damon (10/5): Amazing place to stay when visiting Gainesville - Convenient access to downtown without paying downtown prices Nothing to say here. Everything and everyone at this location was great.
- Batsheba (8/5): -
- Almar (9/5): - Ice maker did work on 2 different floors.
- Rosario (10/5): -
- 136qip (10/5): First impressions begin curbside - My stays here are always comfortable, but this time the valet service stood out. James welcomed me warmly on arrival, and Andy was just as helpful and friendly at departure, even loading my car to my preferences while another valet offered bottled water. These thoughtful touches before and after a long drive are greatly appreciated and elevate my overall impression and experience of the hotel.
- glenviewdiver (10/5): STAY HERE! - This is a great hotel - walking distance from UF. Staff is awesome, especially Andrew at the valet stand! The rooms are spacious and clean, and you can’t beat location - we will return.
- Ericka (10/5): - First time staying here and loved the convenience, will stay here again:)
- Migdalia (10/5): Excelente - Excellent No incluía desayuno
- Courtney (10/5): -
- Crystal Collier (7/5): -
- Leah (7/5): -
- ALEXANDER (10/5): - Excellent hotel and great staff
- Samantha (10/5): This was a lovely and convenient hotel for our weekend at UF. - The hotel was in a great location, the lavender sachet bags at the elevator Friday night were lovely, staff was friendly, the shower was great! The rooftop pool was enjoyable. There wasn't really any closet space so no place to put our suitcases except on the bench. It would have been nice to be able to order food and drinks at the pool.
- Francisco (9/5): Llevando a mi hija a la universidad - Lo cercano que está de la universidad, las camas excelentes, muy buen tamaño de cuarto y el personal muy atento y amable.
- 235leslim (10/5): My Go-To in Gainesville! - Great experience once again. Check in/out is seamless and all employees are very accommodating. Love the bar for a quick glass of wine. And finally, this hotel has the best valet company! They hustle and get you your car in record time, even during peak hours. Shout out to Brandon and Andrew…and thanks for always offering a bottle of water. Nice touch!
- DenverKate (10/5): Best valet parking staff I’ve ever seen! - Move in weekend for UF and here for 3 days. I was so impressed with the valet staff- when us parents were hot and tired, they remained upbeat, quick to action and so professional and sweet. They kept chaotic situation of cars running so smoothly!
- Andrea (10/5): - Super close to UF. Clean.
- C3392DLjordanb (10/5): I would give 10 stars if I could! - Andrew and the rest of the team were literally the best part of the hotel. Not that the hotel is bad, but their service was just that good. Each one of them were super kind, respectful and went out of their way, hustling to make sure that everyone was happy with their experience. It’s rare for a service like this to stand out the way that it did, but they were just that good!
- Chinmay (8/5): - Overall at a good location. But rooms are too basic and dont have a great view of campus.
- Anthony (10/5): - Great place to stay if visiting UF in Gainesville. Across street from campus. Very convenient. Seemed like one of the nicer hotel options in the area as well.
- Wilkerson (5/5): - Too expensive. Plus front desk clerk told me they would comp the breakfast but they still charged me full price. The smell of the lobby was too strong.
Pool was closed for majority of the evening of my stay. It was the main reason for choosing that hotel.
- Melodie (6/5): - Stay at this hotel often, slipped in the shower the last trip and this trip there was a live five inch roach in my shower.
- Monica (10/5): -
- Ransford (10/5): - Politeness of the employees
- DayTrip39064507689 (10/5): Excellent. Will recommend it again and again. - The service was excellent
The service at valet was beyond perfect
They are attentive professional polite and friendly.
I have traveled many times I have to say these guts represent your hotel in most positive way.
- 194mitran (10/5): Hotel services and amenities were wonderful - The service specifically the valet service was outstanding everyone was helpful and friendly great service. Friendly staff.
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Thang (10/5): Nice hotel in a great location - Conveniently located and the rooms were nicely decorated and clean.
- Itevia (10/5): -
- Christiana (10/5): - Great location. Comfortable hotel.
- HARRY (8/5): Nice place for business not for families . - Style and decor Too many young college kids acting immature and just one elevator functioning made for long waits and uncomfortable to travel with my granddaughters
- jcb313 (10/5): Safe Parc review - Safe Parc has always been an amazing company and worked wonderful with the Marriott AC for valley services. This past week I stayed at the AC and all Valley services were smooth and efficient but Andrew and Garrett went above and beyond to help us out. Thank you for providing such wonderful service!
- Kerem (10/5): - Only thing that was probably was the unavoidable 5 AM Fire Alarm.
- Jason (10/5): Very nice hotel - Great location as we were in town for a student tour of UF. Easy to valet and check in. Very clean lobby, room and bathroom. Cool pool on rooftop with great UF views.
- Tahya (10/5): - Perfect for parents visiting their college kid at UF
- Mariel (10/5): - Location location location. Great location. Spacious room. Safe. Close to dining.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Nice comfortable property in a laid back town !
- Lorayne (10/5): - Very good
- MA'MOON (10/5): - Thank you
- k8heier (8/5): Good stay - The AC Hotel is clean and comfortable but would benefit from some maintenance and updates. We were greeted by very warm and helpful valets. They even offered us cold bottled water on a hot day. The staff at the front desk and housekeeping were friendly and professional. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had challenges finding an ice machine that worked and struggled with controlling the temperature of the water in the shower. Overall, we had a good stay. We enjoyed spending time at the rooftop pool and walking to nearby restaurants.
- danad36 (6/5): Ok - awful breakfast $$ valet - Clean room, friendly check in. The front desk was very accommodating. The negatives are breakfast and valet cost. The breakfast is not free and the options are grim. The items were stale. Skip the breakfast and enjoy a local restaurant. The valet cost was $30 a night. The valet attendants were nice and helpful. There are not a lot of great options to stay in the town so this was ok for what we needed. We may check out the other hotel option down the way…it looked more up to date and had more food options.
- Sarah (6/5): - Fairly run down carpets and shower but good location to UF
- Shontra (10/5): - Great
- anna (10/5): - Central location to University of Florida. Easy checkin/out. Rooms were great. Valet was efficient even when busy.
- Shervin (10/5): - I had an amazing time but I was given a price that wasn’t what expected prior to arriving. Overall I loved it!
- Kenia (2/5): - Breakfast was poor. Not many options. Not hot milk.
I had stayed at AC hotels many times and this is the worse experience.
Very expensive as well.
Sorry
- OCTAVIAN (10/5): - Perfect place for a weekend trip to visit your college kid.
- Garrett (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anne (10/5): - We arrived late (2AM) and the staff was so friendly for that time of night. And gave us a much needed late checkout!
- Jennie (10/5): Great location - Location of hotel was perfect for our visit and campus tour at University of FL. The barn door on the bathroom. Zero privacy with those things they are awful!
- Daniel (8/5): Great UF location - Nice facility, friendly staff, ease of use. We had to change rooms because several electrical outlets didn’t work and the shower floor was very slick. The breakfast is convenient but hardly worth the money. On our last day, they dropped a forty two dollar bill on our table for cold eggs and sausage, for two diners. I had received a ‘final’ bill from AC for our stay via email. When the Missus asked for a hard copy upon checkout, the billing was different, substantially.
Fun location with plenty of walkable restaurants and young adults.
It’s sad to see the homeless milling about. I’m always counting my blessings.
- Kristen (10/5): - It’s always great when I get to stay at AC Hotel in Gainesville.
- Melissa (10/5): - Great place to stay if you are visiting University of Florida Campos
- Dene (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (6/5): - The water pressure was extremely low. I could barely brush my teeth. We only had one bath towel and had to wait awhile for them to bring more. That was after calling the front desk 5 times, but they did not answer, so I finally called the outside line using my cell. and got to talk to someone. The hotel was nice in the lobby and was sufficiently clean, but it's sometimes the little things that make or break the experience. I would not feel loyal to this hotel if I went back to Gainesville.
- Joyce (10/5): - The people at the front desk went out of ther way to help.
- islandcoasteditor (10/5): No better place to stay in GVille - Our daughter graduated this weekend and we HAD TO stay at the AC for such a momentous occasion. Yes the price for this weekend was absurd, but you have to realize that you are paying for the convenience of being in the best location off campus. Walking to restaurants, shops, Publix, the stadium, and campus. You can park your car with the valet and never have to see it again for your whole stay. For graduation weekend, they had cookies and champagne in the lobby upon checking in. Our room was spacious and wonderful. We were supposed to have housekeeping every day in the suite and they never showed up. I think it was just because it was so busy. It’s one of their biggest weekends of the year. No big deal, I just went to get extra towels and all was good. Again, the actual stay isn’t the luxury you would expect for paying $1,000+ a night, but the location, location, location is what you are paying for. I’ve stayed there off-peak when it was $300 a night and that is standard for a hotel of this type.
In fact, I had a bizarre encounter with another mom who overheard me mention that I paid $1,000+ a night for the room while in the lobby. She must not travel very much because she came to talk to me to say that we should report the AC to the state for price gouging because her same room was going to be $400 LESS next week. I said, yes, that is how peak or off-peak pricing works. She was astounded. She didn’t realize that hotels can charge different prices for the same room depending on the day, week, month, game weekends, graduation, or other special events. I tried to explain it to her, but she just looked like deer in the headlights. Who doesn’t know this!? Lol! I just had to share that story. Anyway, we love you AC. Until we meet again.
- Burak (9/5): Superb -
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- Flynn (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hotel, good location, only spent 1 night and some time there. Was a good stay.
- Yady (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great.
- Jennifer (10/5): Great hotel at UF - Perfect for visiting UF. Very close to campus and we walked to a lot of places from here. Food and coffee also within a couple minutes walk
- Miryam (10/5): - Close and convenient location. Very friendly employees and valet parking.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- billn635 (8/5): Good to stay overall - Quick and easy valet service upon arrival, friendly staff on check-in nice quiet room on a high floor. Lobby Bar was fun and busy. To me, this is a typical high volume large College Hotel it was clean, but things are kind of worn in certain spots. The pool area needed a good cleaning and is not heated. The breakfast area is unique and only adequate. If you drive, leave your car at the hotel and take a Lyft to get around campus as parking is a premium and traffic is pretty wild at times.
- jason (10/5): - Cannot thank Ashley enough for her tremendous customer service and assistance for our daughter who is stranded and needed some guidance and help.
- Jenifyr (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (10/5): - .
- Delia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerlach (8/5): Very good -
