Brenda (10/5): - The only thing I would add is flashlights on the cottages that do not have bathrooms. Also I noticed that they were lights to the men's but not the women's. And the closest restaurant is about 20 minutes so I would recommend eating before you get there otherwise take your snacks. I went to Harper for dinner and it was about 30 minutes then Ingram for breakfast which was about another 25 the opposite direction. I would recommend selling appetizers

Patrick (10/5): - We stayed in the cabin called The Outpost. The cabin was clean and basic. The bed was really comfortable. The only thing we didn't like about the cabin was the small TV that barely registered any channels. But with that being said, we didn't book this cabin to watch TV. We did get to see whitetail deer and blackbucks on the property and Omar texted us when he was going to feed the deer so we could see all our most of them on the property; about 40 head of deer. It was an impressive sight. The drive to Kerrville and Fredericksburg wasn't too far of a drive for dining, entertainment, and shopping options. The peace and quiet at nighttime with the stars shining bright makes this place stand out. There was a pool and a hot tub; but the hot tub was closed during the summer - too hot. We definitely would recommend this place if you're looking to get away from the city and to enjoy nature. We would stay here again when in the surrounding area. Thank you Omar for the kind conversation and for including us in the deer feedings. It was a great experience.

Emerald (10/5): 5 stars - We absolutely love this place. The Property manager Omar and his wife are such amazing people. We truly feel like family when we come here. The property is so relaxing. There is a nice walking trail, it's quiet, the cottages are cozy and well stocked with everything you need, there is a pool and Jacuzzi as well.
Barre (10/5): Great place to stay highly recommended - We had a wonderful day at Cowboys And Angels, the property manager was awesome and gave us great directions to get there and may check in easy. Our little cottage was wonderful, clean and organized well. We had a great day and would highly recommend it.
Emerald (10/5): Spectacular Stay - The Cowboys and Angels Resort is one of the best places my family has ever stayed. Immediately upon entry we were greeted by Omar. He showed us to our yurt and informed us of items we might want to use during our stay. We visited the quaint office shop and picked up a few well priced items. The yurt we stayed in was excellent. It was well decorated and the beds were extremely comfortable. There was even a hot plate so we could cook breakfast items. The yurt was filled with cooking items, coffee, utensils, a mini fridge, sheets, blankets, a/c, and a heater. There was even dvds and a television if you wanted to watch something. We also enjoyed cooking burgers on the grill outside. The trail was so nice. We walked down it and saw many deer and beautiful country plants. The walk was very relaxing and much needed fresh air. We also were able to see the chickens on multiple occasions. There is a pool as well with seasonal access. There was a jacuzzi that was so relaxing. When you looked up you would see so many stars. I even saw a twinkling star which was really neat experience for me. The entrance and exit are gated with codes with is wonderful. You know that people can not just get access the property and I felt very safe. If you are looking for a relaxing, enjoyable experience for your family, this resort is definitely it. We definitely are looking forward to coming back in a few months. Thank you Omar & your wife for making our stay spectacular.

Roxeanna (10/5): Great no frills peaceful getaway! - This was such a cute little place. I ended up getting there later than expected, and Omar waited for me to make sure that I got there safe. I checked in; he helped me get my bags into the room and get settled. He went above and beyond with communication of how to get there and what to do. I stayed in the Carriage House Cabin. It is a little bit of a walk from the parking lot and it. It is rocks and purple before you get onto the path to just be aware of that if you have any issues walking or like I have my dogs, though he wasn’t a fan of the stones, but he’s old. The cabin is equipped with everything that you need and would be perfect for a family with a couple kids as there were bunkbeds with A. I guess Queen‘s size bed. The cabin had all the amenities you would expect from a larger hotel, refrigerator microwave coffee pot full stove. The bathroom is just a shower, but fully stocked with everything that you would need. They’re also games and puzzles and coloring books and all the fun family stuff. There is a TV but very limited channels but you’re not there to watch TV go have funsuch a cute peaceful little place. It was fun! There is a hot tub that I did enjoy it’s small probably only seats four, but it was clean and warm and perfect for me ; walking paths; grills, stage, fire pit etc for family fun. If you want a peaceful no-frills experience… Go to Cowboys and Angels. You’re going to be treated like family, and have fun. Sorry no pics. I took video.

Linda (10/5): Anniversary Weekend Getaway - This was a weekend trip to celebrate our 55th anniversary. We wanted a quiet place to relax and this was perfect. Our cabin was decorated so cute, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioner kept the cabin nice & cool. We enjoyed the pool and watching the many deer on the property. This is located about 15 minutes from Kerrville and we did go there one evening for a nice dinner at 5 D Steakhouse.

Megan (10/5): - We stayed in the Gunslinger. Property was beautiful, quiet, relaxing, well maintained, clean, and provided all the essential basic kitchen utensils and tools. We grilled out and had a nice camp fire. we were the only guests in a cabin the night we stayed, but the cabins are quite close together, so I’m not sure we’d choose this location during a busy weekend, but would be ideal for big group events.

Bring some groceries and stay the weekend or use it as the perfect base in between trips to nearby Kerrville, Fredericksburg, or even San Antonio (little further out). So relaxing. Glamping. RV hook ups.

It was memorial weekend and they didn't raise their rates as others had. The owners took interest in each of their guests. We had the best time whole staying there.

Verified traveler (6/5): - The pool was not in use hot tub needed a surrounding was just stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Room had not been clean well had animal hairs on the furniture. Had a back door that was not secure our front door with private locks. Pictures that we saw on expedia.com we’re not the same as being there.

Waking up to and having coffee in your porch and having no outside noises only nature was wonderful. Kids can play without a problem is only 25 min from Kerville.

The cabin charming and well equipped, and right next to the pool and bbq area. The owners were fantastic. Highly recommend - will be bcak for sure.
Leslie (10/5): Lovely, relaxing and dog friendly - Lovely place to stay and relax with our dogs. The bath house is very clean and close. We spent so much time outside on the double swing, grilling and at the pool. Also enjoyed playing Cornhole and the beautiful Texas night sky. Loved it so much we stayed an extra night and are already planning our next stay.

Verified traveler (10/5): - The area is fantastic and we are coming back for longer next time! The cabin was clean, easy to operate and there were fresh eggs and biscuits! The manager was easy to talk to and made sure we had our check in instructions. There is a nearby town as well some wineries that are definitely worth stopping for.
Josh (10/5): - Overall my stay was very pleasant. I reserved a unit without a bathroom so I had to use the bath house. It was clean and nice. However there were no clean towels and the hamper was full.
Christy (4/5): - I do not like to leave reviews that aren’t positive, however, I also do not like to lead others to think everything is all positive when it just wasn’t. The place had all of the makings of a very neat set up but everything was not what it seemed. It is advertised to have wifi, which it does, but does not state that it is only near the office area & not in the cabins. There is also no cable tv. Our AC unit in the cabin we stayed was too small for the tiny cabin & the cool air never reached up to the loft areas nor to the bedroom area. There were only sheer curtains to cover the windows, which made us feel very uncomfortable. The beds were so incredibly uncomfortable & creaked with every move all throughout the night. We had booked a 2 night stay but ended up packing up & leaving as soon as we could on the first morning. We ended up having to pay half of the cost of the second night, plus another hotel. These cabins are literally the little shed houses from Lowe’s or equivalent & for $200 a night. This place is ideal for those who are wanting a camping type experience or maybe just a place to stay for a hunting trip. If you’re actually wanting to get away & comfortably enjoy your stay, you’d be better off in an actual hotel, with AC, Nice bedding, wifi & tv. We were SO very excited to get into a hotel after our stay here. I’m leaving this very honest review because this was the truth of our stay & I feel it should be stated clearly on what to expect when you stay here.
