Guest Reviews
- SHAJI (4/5): - The host is good and easy to communicate The location is very bad , no parking as they mentioned parking is available.
- Svetlana (10/5): -
- Nabeel (8/5): Amazing people on service in Riad - Cultural N/A
- Laneesh (10/5): - It’s calm and quite. Clean The person who is looking after is so humble and down to earth person
- Hicham (7/5): -
- Abdelhak (10/5): -
- Jayne (9/5): Throughly recommend this accommodation - The accommodation was beautiful, like stepping back in time
The location was great and Abdul was a welcoming host Nothing
- Anasse (10/5): - Very well located and the staff are wonderful
- Francisco deivis (10/5): Maravilhosa - Tudo. Não se aplica
- Viviane (7/5): - Beautiful riad in proximity to the main sights but facilities a bit dated and a little tricky to find (as are most things in Fes). Beautiful rooftop and warm staff, I enjoyed my stay in Fes.
- AM1381 (9/5): Fantastic experience - A beautiful, authentic riad full of character, with an amazing view over the medina from the rooftop terrace. Traditionally decorated, spacious (for a riad) and comfortable room. The location is excellent – right in the heart of the medina, yet close to the edge of a larger square, which makes finding your way back very easy.
The riad is run by Abdul and his wife, whose kindness and hospitality were unparalleled. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them – from greeting me in the main square on arrival and doing an unprompted ‘test run’ with me to make sure I could follow the route back to the riad on my own, through sharing helpful advice on navigating social and 'business' interactions in the city, to preparing a delicious homemade meal on my last evening.
I'd highly recommend this riad to anyone who values authenticity and character over modern luxury, and wants to experience a traditional riad as it is meant to be.
- Marquita (9/5): Cozy Stay in Fes - The staff is very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and like that the Riad was walking distance to many restaurants and the market. We had a difficult time finding the Riad using GPS, but the manager was kind and generous enough to guide us to the riad from the main road.
- Martin (10/5): - Muy cómoda la habitación
Personal amable
- Gemma (6/5): - This riad is really good value for money, slightly dated, but some fantastic original features inside the property, well placed to enjoy the medina!
- W B P (8/5): Marvelous stay.. wonderful helpful manger.. great place - Location superb and the hotel has wonderful interior Nothing
- Nisan (10/5): - Amazing staff and exceptionally clean rooms. The breakfast was excellent, and the team was incredibly helpful with recommendations and local information. They even arranged our dinner in Fes by speaking directly with a restaurant, which made us feel very well taken care of. The riad has a truly beautiful atmosphere—highly recommended.
- Daliborka (10/5): Fes - Location, kindness of the host, breakfast and ambiance. Bed a bit too hard and uncomfortable pillows
- Urban (9/5): -
- COMZuki (7/5): - The owner was very helpful. Only accepts cash which i didn't have on hand. He was generous enough to entrust me to wire him the money once I was back at home letting me stay for free initially. The evenings were very loud and it only died down after midnight. The mattresses were very hard and my room didn't have a proper window.
- Daniel (9/5): - The riad is stunning and has great Moroccan architecture. The owners were very helpful and friendly, even when we wanted to leave at 4:30 in the morning he walked us to our taxi! Also a delicious breakfast and great location to explore amazing Fes. Thank you 🇲🇦❤️
- Mohamed (9/5): -
- Hajar (8/5): -
- Sara (10/5): Would 100% recommend - Very beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable place. Peaceful and charming atmosphere. The owner is very polite, respectful and helpful. Was easy to communicate with him in English and he guided me through video call to the location of the Riad since Google maps was not working well. He offered to help arrange transport to airport, accommodated early check in and even made a lovely omelette for breakfast on request. The lady who takes care of the house and breakfast was also very kind and hospitable.
- El Baghdadi (10/5): -
- Oualid Kafi (10/5): - A very nice riad in the Medina, but 5 min from the taxi station and 10 min from the parking, in case you come with your car. Abdul, the manager of the riad is very nice, he prepared the breakfast for us, early in the morning because we were participating in the Marathon... I definitely recommend 👌
- TomW92 (6/5): Cool looking, but dated and musty - The riad is really cool looking, the decoration is incredible and it feels really old. The owners are nice and welcoming. The decor in the rooms is pretty good, there are places to hang some clothes and belongings.
The bed is huge and comfortable, plug sockets next to the bed. Good wifi in the rooms.
Breakfast was simple and as expected. The room was pretty musty and smelled quite bad, there was an acrid smell that stuck to everything and all our clothes and belongings reeked of it after we left. The smell of the bathroom was quite bad as well.
The location feels quite sketchy, we were hassled on a few occasions literally as we were trying to enter the riad.
You can only pay in cash, either euros and dirhams.
- Claudia bBeatriz (10/5): Very pleasant , I feel at home . - Good , Abdul was very nice and helpful . When I got lost in Medina went there to bring Me back Can be more light in the room
- Suprotim (10/5): - The architecture, the decor and the breakfast.
Overall a fantastic experience.
Manager was an amazing person.
He took us from the main road so we had no issues finding the place.
Very welcoming and homely. Everything was excellent
- Milica (10/5): - Location, staff
- Fabiola (10/5): Lovely Riad in Fez - It’s like staying with a family. Absolutely lovely experience. The staff are really kind and helpful, especially if you get lost in the labyrinth of the medina!
Delicious homemade breakfast.
Comfy bed and clean room! Would definitely return and I highly recommend it. You can hear the neighbouring riad or cafe at night, they played music till late. But I think you can only hear it depending where your room is.
- Salomon (10/5): Cozy, charming 670 year old riad centrally located in Fes. Host welcomes you with mint tea and helps you get to the riad - Our host Abdu was very welcoming and helpful. Nothing! It was great!
- Polina (7/5): -
- Hasan (8/5): Leuke riad beleving - Goede riad beleving. Grote kamer en grote bed. Er was geen gebedskleed in de kamer. Ontbijt was erg laat.
- Sergio (8/5): -
- Richard (7/5): On the surface, the property has old school charm and is beautiful. That part I loved! - I wanted to stay in an old riad, and the building itself was beautiful, very clean, and centrally located! The property manager was very helpful and nice when he was available. Please see the explanation below. The issue was there isn't a full time dedicated manager of the property. On arrival, I had to call the person, who did answer, but sent someone who didn't speak French or English. This person did this because the person has other work commitments.
The property manager was kind enough to later go and get me a local SIM card. In all honesty, part of the drama was that my international phone plan from the US wasn't working properly in Morocco...lol! The local SIM card didn't really kick in until a few hours later...by which time I got lost in the labyrinth area around the property located in the old medina. The property manager didn't take my calls at this time, and I was left at the mercy of predatory teenagers who wait for lost tourists to try and scam exorbitant guide fees out of them.
- Pablo (10/5): - Historical building, very nice staff, very good breakfast! I recommend booking the taxi with the hotel, because the host will come pick you up, it is not easy to arrive by yourself and the area can be shady later in the night
- Kronenberg (9/5): Discover the heart of Fez - Ambientación, decoración, espacios en gral, habitación amplia. .
- charlotte (10/5): - it was very spacious and the staff were so lovely nothing we had a great stay
- Naïma (8/5): - Kamer! Doolhof in de steegjes... Gps werkt gelukkig.
- BRAHIM (10/5): -
- Hampus (10/5): -
- Sultan (1/5): Bad -
- Fahid (10/5): Great Riad in the heart of the medina with great staff. - The Riad was beautiful, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and generous. The Riad is located close to the heart of the medina, but it is very easy to get lost in the labyrinthine narrow streets. The bed was a little too hard for my preference, which made it difficult to sleep.
- Marija (8/5): Great value in a historical building - The experience is like staying in a museum! It's a really unique building! Comfortable rooms and beds and great AC, which is very important when it's 50°C outside. :) Nice host, always willing to help, great breakfast and access to the wonderful rooftop, from which you have a beautiful view of the whole Medina. Since the building is very old, there is a specific smell in the room. Not so intense, but still present. Also the bathroom could be a bit cleaner.
- Al (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maaffar (10/5): Wonderful - Pure Moroccan architecture Nothing
- Arvid (9/5): Superb -
- Hichou (10/5): Very beautiful Raid.you would certainly full in love with the structure the design and Morocco Arts . very clean and cal -
- Brahim (8/5): Very good -
- Hijri (10/5): one of the best raids in fes - I would like to thank Mr abdfatah and his stuff ,they were super helpful and I felt like I'm in home even for one night
and I think I will come back whenever I'm going to Fes . Nothing
- K (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms are very clean and neat. Very big rooms more than enough for us. The host was very friendly, helpful and professional. Mr. Abdul gave us a clear tour of the property and also made us aware of the charges to be paid for taxi to train station and local attractions and also guided us to a nice restaurant for dinner. The breakfast service was also fantastic and we had a wonderful time staying in the property. It's a perfect destination for couples looking for stay around Fes.
- Michaela (9/5): Great stay in Fez -
- Abdella (10/5): Its calm and clean and they really have good hospitality - Its calm and clean and they really have good hospitality Its calm and clean and they really have good hospitality
- Aditi (5/5): Passable - It was a traditional Riad. Close proximity to main square Place Rcif. Breakfast was good. Quick communication on whatsapp. Bathroom was not at all ventilated. It was wet, drainage was not good. So, it smelled. When asked for soap, the manager said to get our own. Towels were overused.
- Kuei (7/5): Good -
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional - The place is beautiful with a great location inside the Medina of Fez. Abdul is the kindest and we got delicious home made food for dinner. Definitely recommended! :)
- Mohaned (10/5): Exceptional - Super
- Heather (8/5): Calm and tranquile riad. - Abdul was amazing, always helping me out when I got lost...which was a lot lol. The calm atmosphere was great. Maybe to be closer to the Blue Gate where we usually wanted to be.
- Leonel (10/5): Lovely Riad just inside the Medina - We loved your stay in Riad Gzira Fez, the person in charge was so kind and attentive every time, he allowed us to check in earlier, and woke up earlier next day to provide us with the breakfast us we went to a tour, we really appreciate it that, the facilities in the hostel are really good and we loved our room, was totally worth it, the terrace is lovely too :)
- Helena (9/5): very beautiful hostel - It was beautiful, very near to some great streets, friendly stuff and delicious Breakfast!
- Denisa (8/5): Nice stay - Nice house, cute terrace, kind host, big room It is very cold, there is almost no natural light in the room. The breakfast is a big poor compared with others we had in Morocco
- Christine (10/5): Warm welcome, beautiful, genuine Riad and in historic area. Highly recommended! - Everything, the warm welcoming and the gorgeous architecture, massive bed and authentic feel. Very peaceful atmosphere.
- Kelly (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and felt well cared for. - The riad is beautiful. Good location and fairly easy to find after walking in and outside the Medina. The family, is very helpful and friendly. We were only there for 1 one, but would certainly come back again. They also fixed dinner for us which was the best traditional Moroccan meal we had. Really there was nothing we didn’t like. Beds are firm but being a back sleeper it wasn’t a big deal.
- Sam (8/5): Great! - The staff was super friendly!! X
- Zahaib (6/5): Pleasant - The best thing about this place is the staff, if it weren't for them, especially Abdul Fattah, I would stay somewhere else. Clean and Spacious rooms. You can order breakfast of your choice. The toilet sink has 2 taps, 1 for hot water and 1 for cold, you have to juggle between the two in order to get the desired temperature. Its not fun, as you burn one hand while the other one freezes. The drains in the shower stink and the odour fills up the room. I had to cover the drain with a wet towel to stope the smell. No Breakfast menu provided. Do not accept credit card. Cash only.
- Atılım (8/5): Great location to stay a few days. - Impressive interior with historical building.
Possible to have meals. The host was quite friendly. The location is central walk distance to everywhere essential in Medina. Since all the rooms are opening to the main patio you can hear everything happening in the patio and the vice versa.
The bathroom infra could be upgraded.
- Raid (7/5): Good - Friendly staff, they do them best to help you,
Interesting riad with very nice design, like historical one. Breakfast needs to add some protein like eggs,
As many riad ,I don’t like using bed covers full of color , i prefer white color. To show the cleaning level
- Christos (8/5): Satisfactory. - Staff friendly and helpful. Wifi reliable. Breakfast was good. Very nice looking place. It could be difficult to get the room warm. Almost impossible to locate without help. Location not so good. Bathroom so and so. If you prefer soft bed it will be a problem.
- Helmy (8/5): Felt like home! - The Riad was beautiful and eventhough most of the time we were out, we loved breakfast time as we get to engage with Khadijah who serves us our breakfast daily during our stay! She made it feel like we're home and made sure that we were fed before we go along with our day! The riad has a terrace where you can see an overview of Fez and the medina, where you can also chill after a long day out and star gaze or bird watch in the morning. Abdul was also soo very accomodating and understanding! And when he's busy he will let us know that if anything he's within reach! We felt taken care of and would definitely recommend out friends and family who's keen to stay in Fez while they're in Morocco! Alhamdulillah, thank you! Nada.
- Viktorija (8/5): Authentic stay in Fes - The property is inside Medina, so it is very authentic. The staff is great, super helpful and gave us lots of advises. They organized a trip to Chefchaouen, which was great, but we definately overpaid for it It was super cold in the room (even though it was not cold inside the Riad), the bed was hard and there were a lot of noise. Also, there was a smell in the bathroom, but you can expect it in such old building. It is hard to find a Riad, and it is not pleasant to walk back at the evening
- Maximilian (10/5): Exceptional - The family operating the Riad is extremely friendly and helpful! Terrace has a great view in the direction of sunset. Recommended!
- Paula (9/5): Very welcoming staff - Beautiful riad, really nice terrace on top. The staff is really friendly and helpful. he gave us really good tips about the Medina (we would have been much more scammed or lost without them). on our day out we had to leave really early and he was so kind to pack breakfast for us. They also allowed us for an early check in the rooms have little natural light (as is the case with most riads). the shower clogged a bit and there is a bit of noise from the street.
- Federica (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect and the breakfast was very good. We had dinner at the hotel and it was delicious. The staff was really kind and friendly and always available to help
- Victor (9/5): Thank your for your welcome. - The host and the food were amazing. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast every day, and it was all the time fabulous, full of flavours.
The building is also stunning.
Thank you so much for welcoming us. The street is a bit noisy at night, but it is what it is in the medina (I guess).
- Massimo (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- John (9/5): Very Nice Traditional Riad - Great traditional riad in the medina. Has all the interior design you want, rooms were comfortable with lots of character, shower had plenty of hot water, AC worked very well. View from the roof was good. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Just watch your head coming in the front door. Wifi in the room was a bit weak, odd that it was through the staff and not a hotel account.
- Sebastian (9/5): Superb - This riad is as beautiful as you can see in the photos. Here we had the best dinner of our whole Morocco trip. The staff was very kind and gave us some advice when we had questions. It is possible to wash your clothes here. We also enjoyed the breakfast a lot. From the terrace you will have a very nice view of the city.
- Paula (10/5): Very welcoming and beautiful - The accommodation is beautiful and very comfortable. You really feel welcome there! Especially big thank you to Yaouad who was incredibly welcoming and helped us with so much on our first days in Morocco - taxis, SIM cards, best sight-seeing spots and more! Thank you!
Additionally, the local cuisine dinner they offer at the riad is very filling and delicious! A wonderful stay!
- Arianna (8/5): Great location in the center of Medina! - Great riad! Abdul and his team super nice and always available to help you!
- Judith (10/5): Wonderful stay on beautiful Fes - Beautiful in classic extensively tiled Dar. Great Medina location. They recommended a wonderful very informative guide. 5 hours the first day in the Medina, outside the Medina the next It was great
- Clemens (10/5): Exceptional - Very charming riad full of character with beautiful tile mosaics everywhere, good location close to Bab R'cif, one of the few things one can always find again when one gets lost in the medina.
Amazing value for money, hot water in the shower!
Special thanks to Jawad, who helped us with everything, picking us up when we came, organizing laundry, serving tea on the roof top and personally sending me off very, very early in the morning with a petit taxi to the train station! Nothing!!!
- Ulrike (7/5): A pleasant stay with a bitter aftertaste due to lack of transparency - We found the guesthouse to be in an excellent location, a little out of the way of the crazy hustle and bustle, but within a few minutes walk from the most interesting parts of the medina, as well as relatively close to parking facilities. The house itself is beautiful with authentic decoration and overall our stay was very pleasant. - The bathroom could use a deep clean of the grouting and tiled shower corners, and the shower drain needed to be covered in order to minimise the sewage smell, which I understand is a common problem in this kind of historical houses
- Payment was at check-out and left us with a bitter aftertaste. With this accommodation having undefined children's pricing policies, I booked a triple room for 2 adults and one child, since our second (toddler age) still sleeps in our bed, hence we only needed a double and a single. When meeting the booking manager in the late evening of the day we checked in (who wasn't around when we arrived), we were told that we actually had been upgraded free of charge to a quadruple, since we came with two children (one double and two single beds, one of which we didn't use - so we didn't ask for now needed the upgrade). We said thank you and thought that was nice. Then upon check-out after 3 nights, in addition to the rate for our room, we were charged for the breakfast for the 4th person. That in itself is not my issue, but rather that it came as a surprise, because breakfast was supposed to be included with the room. Had we been given the choice, we would have happily declined the 4th breakfast, as every day we had so much food left over with two young children being given adult's portions. But the least I expected is to be made aware of the this extra charge in advance. Out of curiosity I went to check what the difference between the triple and quadruple room rates were, and they were negligible, which made it feel even more unethical. We paid, but it left us very disappointed about the lack of transparency.

Location was right in the medina close to the main gates but not that close to the Main touristic streets so a bit uncomfortable walking alone at night time.
A bit cold in the rooms at night night during winter Unluckily the bathroom had a bad smell but I think is a common thing in the hotels because of the sewer system
