Guest Reviews
- Randerson (2/5): It was supposed to be a romantic getaway but the hotel was dreadful. - The view The unclean state of the room. Only one cup and no spoons. Restaurant wasn’t open at all. Photos on the website did not match the room at all.
- Yevhen (8/5): - location the balcony is not clean enough
- Grazyna (10/5): - Room was amazing 😊Huge 😁Was really clean.Bathroom was as well nice clean large.
I sure I will back to the hotel.
Thanks
- Sue (1/5): Too awful to stay.Avoid at all costs or enter at your own peril - Absolutely nothing. It is seedy dirty and I would say unsafe for single women to stay in. There was a bad smell of weed and drugs and food. Several single foreign men loitering in dark and dingy dirty corridor. Trainers outside doors. Lift not working. I felt intimidated and unsafe. Checked in. Checked the room. Checked out immediately. Have complained to staff and booking.com
- Guest (10/5): -
- Parks (5/5): Very clean room but very dated reception and stuff - The room was clean No breakfast option or the restaurant or bar wasn’t open
- Angela (9/5): Superb - The location and the size of the room Elevator needs updating
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent as always
- Kavya (1/5): Bad -
- Matt (7/5): Good -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- George (1/5): Bad - Bitten by bedbugs bits
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (5/5): Great for the money if you just want basic - Beautiful location sea views are outstanding. Needs work on the hotel but the rooms are very clean and have all you need. And access to a balcony to sit and enjoy the sea views. Photos are view from the balcony Needs lots of work in the main hotel no facility no breakfast. Nothing at all
- Chloe (4/5): Overall okay, but would not stay again. - Room was big enough, bed was fine and overall facilities were okay.
Clean and quiet hotel The hotel is being used for indian nationality to rent long term rooms therefore like a community of people living in the hotel as opposed to actually staying there. Constant smells of curry, no breakfast facilities. lots of single women on there own with children.
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant -
- David (9/5): very enjoyable - sea view balcony, comfortable bed , helpful staff and free parking permit.. all good a bit tatty
- Rose (1/5): Awful - The experience at this hotel was extremely unpleasant. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom were subpar, and we even had to ask for more toilet paper when the small amount provided ran out. This was by far the worst accommodation I have ever booked and I strongly believe it should not be listed as a hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Everything except for the location. There was a big stain on one of the towels provided
- Terrie (10/5): Exceptional - room was great
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hotel
- Gri06033671 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abdelmajid (1/5): Horrible stuff and dirty hotel wouldn't advise anyone to stay there. - Nothing to be liked in the hotel was very dirty, smells of urine in the carpet plus we got bed bugs. When we complained no one is interested to listen to us. Smells of carpets, dirts everywhere plus bed bugs
- Luke (3/5): Very bad - The view I’ve paid over £100 to stay the night the bar is never open and there’s no breakfast they tell you to go to the other hotel 100 yards away to go and eat I think they house asylum seekers witch is no problem but at least say on the booking website. Overall it’s shockingly bad. Don’t waste your money
- Marieke (7/5): Staff nice enough, room lovely, communal areas a bit worrying with eg exposed cables in the wall - Good value for money, big comfy room The hotel, the corridors, the lift, it's really falling to pieces
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lewis (1/5): Bad - Location Do not stay here! There is a serious bed bug infestation here, which the owner is clearly aware of this having now read previous reviews going back years. Although I did receive a refund when I requested it, we had to throw all of our clothing and belongings away to try to avoid taking the home at a cost of hundreds of pounds. There is a serious public health issue health here, be warned!
- Ron (7/5): Very enjoyable despite the hotel - Location, location location Not hotel anymore, no bar, no restaurant just used by owners who rent out a room or two
- Travelspirit63 (8/5): Great Location, room clean, staff friendly, good value, communal areas need refurbishing - Staff all really friendly and helpful
Room was huge and very clean, bedding and towels clean
Great value. Good Location and lovely having a balcony. Communal areas need refurbishing
- Rebecca (10/5): Great hotel - Lovely hotel, clean had everything you needed. Lovely hotel staff. Very quiet hotel. Lovely room with balcony and amazing view. Thank you. We will be staying again when we are next down. Everything was great
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- M (1/5): Bad -
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean with a sea view No breakfast available
No bar too so couldn’t stay for a drink
- Dhanu (6/5): Beautiful sea views - The sea view was the best part and sitting in the balcony watching the waves The stairs and hallway definitely need a upgrade the bathroom also needs a good scrub and the balcony needs to be cleaned as there were a lot of used cigarettes thrown there and a ashtray provided
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sanhita (2/5): Very poor quality hotel regarding maintenance of cleanliness and staff . Location was great! - Room was ok but did not have cleaning service even for a day even though we stayed there for 3 nights. There was balcony but we couldn’t,t go out as there was heavy dirt on floor of balcony. Carpet on stairs had big stains on it, was extremely dirty and had moulds. Bathroom was very bad and had stains on floor . There was mould in room which worsened my husband.s asthma only good thing about the hotel was sea view from our room. There was no hair dryer.
The rom was not cleaned properly before our use as there was an used shaver in toilet. As explained above.
- Mark (9/5): BEACH SIDE STAY - It was on the beach front and only 5 mins walk to the pier. The view from the hotel room was excellent and the room was big for the price. Stayed in 4 hotels that week and this was the cheapest and the best. Defineately will stay there again. The corridors and landings could do with a make over or update.
- Joanne (8/5): Location great and staff very friendly - We stayed in room 107 which was very nice and we have recommended this room to our friends who are staying with you this weekend. Nothing
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (5/5): Did the job for an overnight stay, however the room was overpriced compared to similar hotels. - Good location. Room was a good size. Reception area, stairs and hallway were shabby.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (6/5): It was value for money - The fact that it had a sea view with balcony There was no hairdryer or fan provided
- Adrian (7/5): Look beyond your first impression - Room was fine. 1st floor sea view was great. Nice size. Friendly staff. Location. Good quality linen especially fluffiness of towels. One or two scruffy corners in room. Public areas in need of overhaul.
- Lee (1/5): Bad -
- Alistair (7/5): Thoroughly enjoyed stay with excellent weather, handy dining facilities nearby & great sea views - Room overlooked superb seafront views. Plenty of room & big comfortable bed. Private outside balcony with unrestricted views of the beach & sea. Bathroom facilities good & clean. Absence of dining facilities, for breakfast or lunch. Bedsheets were old and poor quality. Cupboards & surfaces within room could have been cleaner.
- Kathleen (7/5): Good -
- Sikkum (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (3/5): Grotty run down hotel but clearly trying to maintain some sort of service - Sea view You get what you pay for, grim stay but done the job and the room was clean.
- Kaspars (5/5): Short 2 night escape on hottest day of year at Eastbourne in Glastonbury hotel with a nice balcony - The room overall was ok , clean linen, bed was good , clean room and nice view to a shore I’m not sure , but I think there wasn’t hot water available. However it was hot day and I really didn’t need it. They need some improvement work in corridors, and lobby area .
- Singh (9/5): amazing, relaxing, warm sea side getaway - room size was great and big windows right overlooking the beach a little confusion when trying to find your room
- Cath (1/5): I found bed bugs in my bed, it was too late to find somewhere else to stay, so I spent the night sitting on a chair, whe - The location was good that’s where it ends The reception staff were rude and were uninterested when I checked out a day early
- Neil (5/5): Ok for the weekend and price - We were moved to a different hotel down the road which was a surprise. The Majestic was going through renovations as well but kept things as tidy as possible Anything that needs paint getting it but made the place look untidy
- Jane (5/5): Passable - Fab position and clean Outdated
- Radu (6/5): Pleasant stay, but could’ve been better - We liked the location, the room was nice and staff friendly. We noticed a water leak from the ceiling, water was leaking along the lights. This wasn’t solved by the staff during our stay.
The mattress is very soft. Also one day before our arrival we received a message from the receptionist saying they are experiencing internet problems and we need to pay by cash at the arrival.
- Saran (7/5): Good -
- Sankauskienė (7/5): Good -
- Daniel (4/5): Disappointing -
- Richard (1/5): Made the most because that's how my partner and I am but not recommended - The beach view! Too many to list but miserable looking staff on arrival and through out our stay. Bar doesn't open until 9pm. Out dated decor. Toilet leaked from the base. When emptying the sink it backed up coming out the shower plug hole as brown water with lumps Brown? in it. Notice to say room keys must be handed in every time you leave the hotel (what hotel does that). Would not use this place again and surprised at booking.com having this on there site!
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Always a great stay with lovely seaview rooms Great value
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - Very nice stay local to what we needed Nothing
- Marilyn (5/5): Very central , on the beach , walk to pier - Huge family room , two double beds , biscuits with T&C . Lovely view out, over beach /sea , doors out to balcony and great for a breeze when hot . Beds were comfortable. Smell of smoking , big plastic bottle with water and cigarette butt's, greeted on balcony . Balcony not sectioned off , I wouldn't have felt comfortable here , if I hadn't been with my husband.
Curtains were very thin, let so much light in , once the sun rose around 4am , very disturbed sleep early in morning ..
USB by beds didn't work , lack of sockets to charge gadgets .
Fridge didn't work
Terrible amount of rubbish under the bed , bin in ensuit wasn't emptied either .
Reception wasn't interested on our stay , when we left , lack of English, communication.
Hotel clearly isn't used as hotel only , there was residential in hotel too .
- Kevin (9/5): . - . .
- David (8/5): very enjoyable - sea facing balcony a bit tatty
- David (5/5): Very tired was not worth the money - Location Needs a complete upgrade
- Emma (7/5): Great value for money. Hotel communal areas a little dated but rooms clean and comfortable - Room very clean. Staff pleasant. No hairdryer in room or proper lock on room door
- Daffy1967 (10/5): Exceptional - Great balcony room with a great view.
Joe could not have been more helpful. Nothing.
- Claudine (9/5): Perfect for what we needed - The room was lovely, great size, beautiful view of the coast, beach and seafront, brilliant that the room had a fan as it was quite warm in there and the bathroom had a bath which I really appreciated as I had just completed the Marathon Mighty Hike so it was a bonus to be able to relax in a hot bath and there was a bottle of Radox there so that was a bonus The communal and stairs could do with a deep clean, bit run down and although the bathroom and room were very clean, the bath had some mould around the grout/silicone where the tiles are. The tv signal was very poor so wasn’t enjoyable to watch anything although I was so tired it didn’t affect our stay too much
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Samantha (8/5): Good stay - Location was lovely beautiful sea view. Close to town.
- Ment (8/5): Bargain - Value . Location . Room size . Sea view .
- Warren (7/5): We enjoyed the stay - The view was lovely The hotel was a little outdated
- Mohammed (8/5): Very good -
- Daffy1967 (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff and great service. Nothing
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (4/5): You get what you pay for. - Quiet No food, no bar, no TV
- Frederick (5/5): OK - Initial impression of room upon entering was positive. Bed was comfy with clean pressed sheets. Nice ocean view. TV sadly not working due to broken antenna cable, and wasn't a smart TV (so no Netflix or YT). Jaded decor. The hotel appears to be in the midst of a stalled renovation. Room in need of a deep clean.
- Sinclair (8/5): Nice hotel for a short stay in Eastbourne - The hotel was very well located with a nice view of the beach and was close to the city centre. The staff were very nice and easy to get all the information. Nothing in particular
- Emanuelle (9/5): Superb - Very good value for money
- Jakub (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, perfect location, nice room
- Rizwan (1/5): Bad - The view from our room was the only good side of the whole stay Well the room and the either building has very bad smell of mould and damp, the bedsheets and pillowcase were darity and not changed at all we found hairs all over te bed.
Toilet needed deep cleaning, kettle was also not been cleaned I was black and sinks.
No service phone to call at the desk.
- Rosemary (6/5): Excellent location in a comfortable, recently refurbished room with great sea views - Location and room Communal areas very shabby
- Jerry (4/5): Comfortable and quiet (Fire alarm apart) - Clean and well presented inside.
Outside needed attention It was being used for boat crossing muslims (all the women had head coverings) the men were all wearing track suit bottoms. Nobody was speaking English except the receptionist (just) and I assume the manager. I only saw him because the fire alarms went off within half hour of my arrival. One of the illegals was cooking in they’re room. (NO FACILITIES IN THE ROOMS) SO WHAT THE BLOODY HELL WERE THEY USING??????
No wonder the receptionist made a big thing about the fire alarm reaction when I arrived!!
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anastasia (6/5): It’s ok the location is great and friendly stuff - I like the friendly reception lady In my room I found some hairs in the bathroom and on the carpet which wasn’t pleasant to me. The room looked clean but probably wasn’t cleaned properly
- Bita (1/5): Bad - The hotel was very dirty. Room was cold, we asked to someone come and check the heater. He came and promised us to bring an extra heater as room was cold but they didn't bring it. My expensive perfume disappeared from the room when we went to town and left the key for cleaning our room. Very very bad.
Please don't book this hotel because it's not safe place as you can not trust the staff and staff is disappearing on your stay.
Thanks Nothing, still upset about losing my expensive perfume by staff.
- Sean (7/5): Good value for the seafront location - great location on the seafront and a shortish walk into town. Elevator was a bit rickety, but it is a old type hotel with character
- Karen (5/5): Just acceptable - Location Lounge reception area
- Alan (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anssi (10/5): We had a plesant stay and really good value for the price - A great hotel near the pier and the town centre. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and flexible. We arrived early in the afternoon and the room was ready for us. The check-in was a breeze. We had a very nice and spacy seaview room in the first floor. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Lots of space, and a clean bathroom. The seafront street is right under the window so there are some sounds from traffic but not to any disturbing extent. On our departure the staff promised to store our luggage for some extra hours. The facilities carry the air of a traditional, seasoned and dignified seaside hotel, a nice ambience. No breakfast service, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is no elevator, but that didn't bother us. All in all, excellent value for the price! -
- Alfie (2/5): Very poor -
- Mary (7/5): Good - The veiw. Beds comfortable. Didn't like the rubber mat in shower .it's was good value for what we wanted. Leak under sink .
- Clayton (9/5): Superb -
- Pat (1/5): Terrible - Nothing We booked this hotel through booking.com but weren’t told it’s was full of refugees all men who couldn’t speak English made my wife very uncomfortable
- Monika (8/5): Hotel looks very dated inside but room was spacious and comfortable. - The view and location. Fridge in the room. It’s dated and scruffy but I would still come back.
Smell of food in corridor even though there is no restaurant in the building.
- Helena (1/5): Bed bugs and dirt. Don’t go - Only thing ok was the location Dirty everything. Also bed bugs! So have had to throw away bags and clothes
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (9/5): good for the money - the room there was no windows that opened no wardrobe so the room was to hot all night
