- Cheuk Hin Keith (7/5):
- Sam (1/5): - We booked online got there and they made us wait one hour then didn’t give us a room as it was full
- Enaya (8/5): - Sehr simpel gehaltenes, kleines Hostel.
- Hannah (8/5): - Great location in quiet town, single bed dorms but all good. Lovely!
- Eva (8/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): - Friendly helpful staff. Gave me lift to hot springs.

- Georgina (9/5): Great hostel for staying in the mountains - Nice hostel with some toast and a fridge which is useful. Beautiful setting and plenty toilets and showers. Also a bargain!
- Michael Sheliישאל (9/5): - Comfortable place with a lovely yard and view. Very peaceful, the river passing through the place is lovely. You may not want to go out. Shower water's temperature fluctuated a lot, but perhaps it was just an anecdotal problem that can easily be fixed.
- Lena (10/5): -
- Dean (9/5): -
- DAMSUWAN (8/5): - It's off the main road which is nice as you won't hear any noise from the street while it's not too far from the town. Two water boilers in the shower didn't work, so I have to change the bathroom twice.
- szymeczko (7/5): -
- Hanna (9/5): - The vibe of common tarrace and pathio with hammocks and common kitchen and more spaces to spend time On the tarrace and in toilet which was outside of the room were many ants but it is like this always in thailand, but in room was cieśń and no ants
- Lena (9/5): - sehr schönes Areal, tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis 🤗
- Martin (9/5): - Very nice place with lot of facilities and chilling spots by small river. Staff super friendly and full kitchen to use. Very nice outdoor chill space came with our room..

Omistaja järjesti meille kyydin ilmaiseksi majoituspaikkaan toisesta hotellista.

- Lucas (8/5): - My room had a beautiful view of the river - it was very peaceful. There were ants everywhere - which is to be expected in a place like this. There was always a staff member present, but there wasn't a lot of information provided. I had to make do mostly on my own - but, this was part of the adventure. It's a good place to stay in a budget. Better than most.
Could use with a bedside lamp! That's my only recommendation.
- James (10/5): -
- Maria (6/5): - Very beautiful location, lots of places to sit and relax to enjoy the surroundings. Wasn’t very clean.
- Shreyansjain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (9/5): Good to relax in nature for a few days - The quiet nature. Double room with balcony on the river was very peaceful. Had to spend one night in dorm room because room was already booked. Dorm room has zero privacy. Not comfortable at all.
- Singphet (9/5): Superb -
- Wall (10/5): Comfortable, cozy, gorgeous location. - Real nice place Liked it all
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allen (9/5): A perfect little unit from which to explore Chiang Dao. - Such an easy place to live in.
Located within walking distance of the Bus station, Chiang Dao Hostel’s private cottage was perfect for our week long stay.
Set alongside a stream, we got to enjoy wonderful sunrises, sunsets from our balcony and hang up items to dry. Super useful when you visit the hot springs and streams as much as we did. There are communal areas with hammocks, tables, chairs, hot water, coffee sachets etc.
Very friendly staff and a comfortable bed rounded things off nicely.
Recommend highly and would certainly stay here again.
Note that the bathroom does lead off the balcony and is not the usual en-suite arrangement.
- Olga (8/5): Very beautiful, green and cute. -
- Xiaolei (10/5): 性价比很高 希望扩建 - A Perfect Blend of Nature and Comfort
My stay at this accommodation was truly unforgettable. The outdoor areas are well-maintained and clean, making it a pleasure to explore the surroundings. The property is nestled in a serene environment, with a beautiful river flowing nearby. However, I did notice some signs of pollution in the river, which was a bit concerning. It would be wonderful to see more efforts in protecting and preserving this natural treasure, as it adds so much to the charm of the place.
The room itself was spacious and immaculately clean, offering a comfortable and relaxing retreat after a day of outdoor activities. The highlight for me was the large balcony, which provided stunning views of the surrounding nature. Waking up to the sound of the flowing(stream) right outside my door was incredibly soothing and added a magical touch to the experience.
Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay for anyone looking to connect with nature without sacrificing comfort. With a little more attention to environmental conservation, especially regarding the river, this could easily be a perfect destination. I would highly recommend it to nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful getaway.
- Zoar (8/5): O.k - Overall it was o.k.
Spacious room, beds were comfortable, quiet.
Could use better cleaning of the shower/toilet room. There were cobwebs, ants and a feeling that no real attention is payed to really clean it.
The outside area of the hostel also felt like someone stopped caring how it looks like. The communal area is pretty much the same as above and the overall feeling is that the hostel a bit neglected.
- Lugkana (8/5): Very good -
- Jillian (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet and nice location. As far as hotels go it was excellent. Stayed in a private room- staff helped with tours, taxis and scooters!
- Lugkana (9/5): Superb -
- Yaping (8/5): I will stay in this hostel next time If I go this area -
- Mikheil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chiara (10/5): Lovely place - Very peaceful area. Big garden area near the river. Staff is nice and friendly. Breakfast included (coffee, the, butter, jam and breads).
Dorm is big and bed is comfortable. Very clean.
- Ted (10/5): Great place for budget stay -
- Mia (10/5): beautiful chill out place - extremely nice atmosphere, social but laid back, nice spots to hang out, clean and tidy, friendly staff. breakfast = buffet with toast, jam, instant coffee, tea, cookies, sometimes clementines
- Kwok (7/5): Very homely feel I felt I was away from everything so relaxing - The rural environment and the vibe of the place. Very homely feel. Water pressure for the shower was a little weak but nothing major.
- Davis (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Michal (7/5): Good - Ok place tonstay a night or two.
Close to the bus and there is parking if you have a car or scooter.
Nice outdoor area to chill. No hot water in any of the showers.
- Florian (8/5): Very good -
- Erwan (10/5): Super hostel 💯 - Super hostel 💯, the People on reception is very kind and helpful, good acomodation, you can relax next the little river, and the travelers are verry kind and interesting !
- Vanessa (7/5): Good - Close to everything in the city, the beds are very comfortable and you can hear the creek at night, which is very peaceful :) We had to wait 1h30 after check-in to be able to go in the room because they didnt have time to clean it (but they offered us a coffee and a nice place to sit and wait).
There is no full time staff at the reception so you might have to wait.
The hot shower didn't work, so its was warm at best and sometimes just cold.
- Yao (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful view of Doi Chiang Dao! A/C not required at it was rather cold at night during my stay. Kinda lacking privacy. The dogs at the house next door keep barking when people pass through the road so be aware.
- Warren (10/5): My absolute best value stay to date amongst approximately 50 different dwellings in Thailand and throughout south east - Simply Wonderful! So peaceful and ideal for relaxing in a quiet and natural setting! Nothing.
- Giorgia (10/5): Exceptional - The place is a gem! It’s in a wonderful location not so far from the centre of town and bus stop. The place is so peaceful with a stream and Mountain View. Just laying on the hammock and reading a book was magic.
The staff is kind and they help you out with what you need.
The room was spacious with wonderful private small terrace. Clean with all needed for a stay.
I would definitely recommend this place:)
- Klaus (8/5): Very good -
- Yaling (10/5): Exceptional - There is a big balcony, you can just relex over there, the valcony which is faced the creek I slept along with the cicada sound :).
- Woon (8/5): Very good - Nice sitting area by the stream, and we can see the stream flowing by from the window of our room too. Little cottage style and quiet environment. Room is spacious and clean. Staffs are friendly and feeling safe staying here.
- E. (9/5): Superb -
- Aliya (10/5): Impossible not to feel relaxed here and Kat was a wonderful hostess - Beautiful lush and relaxing setting by a stream
- Oleinik (8/5): Very good -
- Theo (10/5): Calm and relaxing stay by the riverside - Very lovely stay at the hostel. The outdoor spaces are really nice with hammock and chairs by the riverside. The mood is very nice there to relax and enjoy the nature in Chiang Dao It is better to have a motorbike/car to move around because the city center is a bit far
- Alexandra (9/5): Beautiful place at great value - The location is beautiful, with huts and hammocks by a river and a view of Doi Chiang Dao. There's a local corner shop close by and it's near the bus stop. The owners don't speak much English but are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. One less bed in the dorm, so I had to sleep in a tent (with a matress, pillow, soft blanket and fan outside the door). It was a bit of a shock at first, but in the end kind of an upgrade - solo room ensuite!
- Jan (9/5): Superb - Very kind english speaking staff. Good communication even before arrival. Loved the buffet available 24/7. Plenty of ants in the shower, but didn't bother me much.
- Charlotte (7/5): Good -
- Usiara (8/5): Comfortable stay - Nestled among the trees, the place is an idyllic spot for relaxing and listening to nature's sound. The mosquitoes can be a real nuisance, though, so need a repellent. The room was comfortable with a nice, large balcony which comes with a bed and a mattress to relax and watch the stream beneath flowing by. The host was also kind and made time to take me to the cave. The bus station is just a few minutes walk away. So, all in all, it was a comfortable stay. Maybe due to being close to nature, the balcony becomes infested with ants. Was shocked to see the balcony and the toilet filled with ants crawling all over on the first morning. Couldn't help stepping on them. Had to have them cleaned up every morning.
- Joel (7/5): Good -
- Tohar (9/5): Superb -
- Charlotte (7/5): Beautiful hostel - The hostel itself was GORGEOUS, such a lovely view and had hammocks and a little view point where you could look over at the mountain and the river I struggled finding things to do in Chiang dao because it's hard to get to the attractions unless you have a scooter so I left early. However I would definitely recommend just staying a night for the hostel!
- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Qingping (6/5): Pleasant - Staff was nice and tried to help us despite the language barrier. It was also close to the tuesday morning market. It was hard to find the staff at night when we needed some help. A flying cockroach came into our room :( but maybe that couldn't be helped due to the nature of the environment.
- Ari (10/5): Welcoming peaceful stay surrounded by nature - I stayed here for three nights and I really enjoyed myself here. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place surrounded by beautiful nature and a breathtaking view on the mountain nearby for a very fair price, look no further: This is the place to stay! Nuk, the receptionist, Kat the owner and her partner all have a very warm heart and are willing to help you with every question you have. There is free water for filling up your bottle and I even was allowed to use the kitchen for myself. Here you just feel welcomed and at home <3
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Natalia (8/5): Very good - The location is very central, around 7mins walk from the bus station. Easy to find and a lovely garden round.
- Matteo (10/5): A peaceful oasi. - The place is absolutely peaceful and quiet! I love the garden with the river and the hosts are really kind. The dorm is always clean.
- Ashur (10/5): Beautiful, serene hostel, I was made to feel wonderfully at home. - Wonderful place to relax and to meet fellow travellers in a mellow environment. Kat and her sister are absolutely lovely and are extremely helpful. They went above and beyond to answer my questions and assist me while I was staying with them. Epic hostel!
- Angelina (8/5): Great location and friendly staff! - Lovely hostel nearby the Main Street and bus station of Chiang Dao. The staff are very friendly and can organise a scooter rental for you, which makes it easy to get around to the different sites. The grounds of the hostel are so peaceful with many places to chill out, including the hammocks! The beds are really comfortable and they provide free towels. There were quite a few bugs around but that’s expected with the location. The shower head also came off but this appeared to be replaced by the following day.
- Matteo (10/5): Exceptional - The garden is beautiful, the dorm is simple but really clean, as the rest of the structure.
- Jake (8/5): Very good -
- Itai (10/5): Exceptional - I could not share enough kind words about this place and its amazing staff. Not only are they kind and helpful in the ordinary course, when I got injured they made sure I got all the help I needed, including helping me with food, getting to the hospital, and everything in between. The accommodations are simple but very comfortable, and the hostel is very close to the things you need in Chiang Dao, including walking distance to 7-11 and some markets. Most importantly, these are these are some of the best people you could meet in Thailand - stay here!
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harriet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Enja (6/5): Pleasant -
- Callum (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Staff really good and kind
- Humanherculesj (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sally (6/5): Good - Lovely big room on a creek Nothing to do. It's a bit far out from any. They had bread for breakfast but no butter seems to be the norm in Thailand. Lovely little Salas on the creek
- Apple (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aleksandar (8/5): Very good - it is quiet place, just off the main road, but if you don't particularly care to be near the local market there are better options locationwise. It is.not easy to communicate. Although the main area and garden around the reception is incredibly charming and well designed and kept. rooms are in some kind of a backyard which is kinda ugly, almost industrial.
Beds are incredibly hard. One of them in our room was almost as one was sleeping at a wooden board.
- Boossakorn (9/5): Superb - Very reasonable price. Owner is friendly, helpful and accommodated. Nice relaxing stream runs through the back of the property. Can see the Chiangdao in afar.
- Cooper (9/5): Fantastic, keep your eyes peeled for Mouse the cat who is very vocal/ friendly and loves a chicken s - What a little gem, great place for a stopover.Very helpful owner who speaks good English. Stopped over for a couple of nights on our motorcycle tour. Loved the place, nice laid back atmosphere. Would stay again no problem. Maybe a fridge in room. But not a problem as you could get ice etc. From communal area. Shower not hot but didn't bother us.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dennis (7/5): Good - The surroundings. Cute little area next to a stream which is very green. Friendly owner. Bed was too hard for my liking. Sheets were synthetic so the nights were quite warm. Despite all the open windows, it was also quite humid in the room so didn't get a good rest during the night.
