- Andrea Wynn (10/5): - It was just nice quiet friendly nothing
- Will (10/5): -
- Charlotte (9/5): Excellent place to stay with plenty of parking. - The dinner and breakfast were both excellent. The staff were very attentive. Nothing
- Lesley (10/5): If you want a clean friendly hotel, this is the place for anyone - Well the kind lady called Sharon on reception was helpful from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left never met met such a helpful friendly lady she actually told us the owner Rebecca and the manager Wayne was as friendly too. All I can say is it’s an awesome place to stay and very friendly clean and the helpings of food in the restaurant are enormous. I love the location out in the middle of nowhere is it’s a hidden gem
- Timothy (9/5): Friendly excellent value very clean -
- Julie (8/5): -
- mark (10/5): -
- Kishor (4/5): Short Changed! - The shower. It was excellent It was a surprise and a shock that, since it was Sunday, the kitchen and therefore the restaurant would close at 6pm. Other days it closes at 8pm. Ridiculous timings for a hotel that is located in a difficult to find and isolated place.
On this occasion apparently the cook had left and therefore there would not be a cooked breakfast in the morning. A continental breakfast was available instead. It was meagre fayre and the offered £10 refund on the stay was derisory.
If I had known these thingsin advance I would have cancelled and gone elsewhere
- Andrew (8/5): Good location - Staff were great. Food was excellent. Wifi was weak.
- Dane (10/5): -
- Maya (8/5): -

, quiet. Food was excellant although far to much not getting on scales for a day or two. Staff were very friendly, and helpful. Bed and bathroom were clean modern and comfortable. All in all a really nice place to stay, hopefully will stay here again if we travel to Newcastle again, would recommend this hotel 100%. There was nothing to dislike

- Matt (9/5): Another comfortable welcoming stay here thanks! - Quiet, convenient, clean and good facilities
- Carolyn (8/5): Nice friendly hotel with good bar and restaurant - better than the usual chains you get located near busy roads - Conveniently placed just off a1, friendly staff, nice garden area, well equipped room, comfy bed and great breakfast. Room 1 noise experienced from nearby by my husband from around 430am - maybe the cleaners area ? I slept through it. If stay again will request a different room.
- ian (8/5): Hidden value! - Good value and convenient It is a bit difficult to find!
- Rebecca (10/5): - Clean comfy and lovely staff
- Julie (9/5): Lovely place to stay - Lovely staff. Nothing

- Clifford (10/5): Home from home - The welcoming atmosphere.
My son is not good at sleeping in a strange environment but said he had the best night's sleep ever.
Dinner and breakfast were superb. Maybe the morning coffee could have been a little stronger.

- Stuart (9/5): Quality place to stay - Nice clean room
- Mark (10/5): -
- CAROL (10/5): Delightful - Full English very good. n/a
- Julie (9/5): - Room was fresh and very clean. I must say the breakfast was one of the best I have had. Went for the full English and everything was perfectly cooked. We were in room 5 and the bathroom fan was very loud, but I am just being picky. Did report it to reception
- Didier (7/5): Très bien mais bruyant la nuit si votre voisin regarde la télévision ou écoute de la musique - Le cadre
Le petit déjeuner
Le personnel Insonorisation des chambres très mauvaise
- Nick (8/5): -
- Joseph (9/5): -
- Jason (2/5): - The food in the restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced The bed was in need of replacing and not comfortable. Lots of hairs found in the bathroom and the noise from the A1 was very noisy. It says easy access to the A1 but didn't realise it was nearly in the garden to the hotel.
- Adrian (10/5): - Clean room, excellent breakfast Nothing
- Debra (10/5): Fabulous country pub and hotel - Beautiful country pub. The ambience is perfect; it's cosy and characterful.
Breakfast was lovely.
Rooms are comfortable and immaculate.
Staff are friendly and efficient. Simon at breakfast was fab.
While we were having breakfast, the staff took numerous calls from people trying to book Sunday lunch. It was clear that places were much sought after. Apparently the Bowes Incline roasts are epic! Only one thing, the shower, although pristine, had quite a weak jet. But all in all, everything was brilliant.
- Stephanie (9/5): Excellent, we will definitely be back! - Beautiful place to stay and great value for money!
- Marc (9/5): -
- Susan (10/5): Bowes Incline Hotel - Warm welcome and friendly staff. Nothing was a trouble to them. Lovely food and plenty of it with an excellent menu to suit all tastes. Easy access to major routes and extremely quiet despite being next to the A1M. We will certainly stay here again. There was nothing to dislike

- Shaun (9/5): -
- Bryan (10/5): -

- Joanne (10/5): -
- Bernadette (9/5): We will definitely stay again. - The room and facilities were great. The breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed the bar and restaurant. I found the bed and pillows rather too firm but the rest of my family thought they were fine.
- munky (10/5): Excellent and value for money - Everything N/a

- Nigel (9/5): Great location. Lovely staff. - Lovely place to star. Great bar and staff. Building site to the rear of the rooms. Put us in the nearest 2 rooms to reception, so it was noisy.
- Ian (9/5): Bowes Incline base for athletics trip - Been to the Bowes Incline 4 times previously, everything as good as ever, comfortable rooms, great food, friendly and helpful service throughout the stay. Nothing of any concern
- Danielle (9/5): -

Food was really good
Room was lovley and clean. Nothing
- Debbie (10/5): -
- Alan (9/5): -
- David (6/5): A little disappointed. - The location was good for getting everywhere yet was quiet.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The gluten free options for breakfast.
The ability to enter and exit through the restaurant as there was no step. The double bed squeaked every time you moved.
There was no beside cabinet, just a little shelf that was not big enough for my CPAP machine and mobile phone.
The accessible bathroom had nowhere to put your wash bag accept a very small shelf above the sink.
Although there are plenty of grab rails around the toilet and sink, there are no rails in the shower area, where you are most at risk.
The 1st morning the breakfast was cold.
The quantity and quality of the breakfast depended on which chef was on.
- chris (9/5): Excellent stopover, lovely staff and all you need - Clean, well equipped and good food Nothing
- David (9/5): Great stay - Food was excellent, bed very comfortable, shower fantastic and staff very friendly and helpful.
- Stephen (10/5): Fabulous! - Fabulous hotel and staff. We arrived later than expected and the restaurant had just closed but the staff went above and beyond and prepared the most delicious burgers and chips for myself, my husband and son! We will definitely return! ***** -

- Lorraine (9/5): Friendly welcome, food excellent, newly refurbished bedrooms were to a high standard. -
- Brian (9/5): Excellent facilities combined with high quality food and service. - The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. The adjoining pub is perfect. Food quality is at a premium. The isolation from other facilities.
- Kerry (8/5): -

Room was modern and the food was amazing
- Carmel (6/5): It served our purpose. - The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Service in the bar was slow, even though it wasn’t busy. Had to request water multiple times.
- Antakarana (7/5): - Hotel was ok Breakfast disappointing considering this is a 4*hotel...
- Christopher (9/5): -
- SHONA (10/5): Best hotel in Gateshead with a lovely friendly atmosphere and beautiful food - We’ve stayed at the Bowes for many years while visiting family in Gateshead. We are always met with such a warm welcome from the staff, who are so friendly, making sure you are made to feel comfortable throughout your stay. The food served in the Bowes is absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend the pie week!! N/A
- Andy (8/5): Very nice and I would definitely stay again. - The staff were great, food was lovely The only issue is the to in the room was not set up for many channels, no BBC Chanel’s were available so I missed match of the day.
😤😂
- Judy (9/5): We usually stay here when we visit family nearby and it’s always a good hotel - Lovely quiet location staff exceptional and room really lovely The bread at breakfast was much too thick but that was a minor thing

Beds comfy
- peter (9/5): -
- Dalrymple (8/5): -
- Clive (6/5): Room was cold at night, no form of heating control in the room, breakfast over cooked and dry - Room clean and modern
- Spink (9/5): - Great location and facilities Early breakfast. Having to have breakfast before 930 wasn't great
- James (9/5): Good service and good food . A chair in the room in place of the small stool would help improving comfort but what’s not - Very clean and quiet Putting the postcode into a car sat nav system takes you into a private residential cul de sac where you can see the hotel about 150 yard away but with no vehicular or foot access. It’s about a 2 mile backtrack to the Wreketon road to access the turn off to the hotel
- Michael (9/5): Good and would stay again - Great find Clean and good breakfast
- Smith (9/5): -
