Guest Reviews
- Mihlan (7/5): - Lovely staff and fantastic food
Super cute dogs and cat
Very peaceful location Room was a bit hot and there were lights on outside all night
Also could use some maintenance to property but basic and comfortable enough
You do need transport when staying there as it's a bit of walk to town but lovely area
- marc (10/5): - Tout Rien
- Monika (10/5): - Really cute place.
Full of birds, animals and beautiful nature:) we have amazing diner here❤️ for breakfast every day eggs and fruits, was perfect for us. thankyou very much

- H.A.J. (7/5): Ee nvoudige homestay in rustige omgeving.
- Dadi (2/5): Small and basic "resort" - I liked the simple "family size" resort vibe it gave off. The bedroom was clean and the AC worked great. The shower also had hot shower and soap was provided as well as towels. I didn't like that it was far from the city center and that there was virtually no staff. Also, the restaurant doesn't really work everyday...only one menu item was available. The staff or owner wanted me to pay everything upfront even before confirming some of the activities I was signing up for.
- Tim (10/5): Great remote place with very nice owners - Beautiful place to be staying. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful (also speak English very well). Breakfast is included and every morning they bake two eggs for their guests. Also they have cute dogs :) Personally, I had to get used a second to how remote the place was - although I booked it for that very reason, but I’m a solo traveller and forgot how dark roads like these get at night haha - but a taxi in the evenings is easily found in the village. And of course, the remoteness is its very charm. It’s a big green area where squirrels and sometimes monkeys can be seen, away from the bustle of cars and motorbikes. And the walk to the resort is truly stunning with views of the mountains.
- Florian (4/5): -
- Panisa (10/5): - Very quiet, lovely owner and very peaceful environment. I’d come back to stay here. The shower water runs a bit slow and not a lot of water
- Bhargavi (8/5): -
- Daniel Sieja (8/5): Good - The staff is helpful and organize tours
The forest and the quiet of the place Breakfast is more a snack
Far from the national park and no taxi to go there and back, but they dropped us there in the morning free of charge which was good.
- ARETZ (9/5): - The property is situated approx 1km from the busy village centre, which gives a more relaxing atmosphere in the middle of nature. If you want to go to the village, the owners can bring you and pick you up, or you can do as us and rent scooters. The rooms we had were in a little house in the garden with private badrooms and the beds are comfortable. The owners are very helpful in arranging Lake trip and accommodation or even transport towards Phuket or Suri Thani.
- Dutry (10/5): -
- Boris (9/5): -
- Sylwia (1/5): Bad - The lady was nice, but that's about it. The rooms were dirty. We booked 3 separate rooms, and all had spiders and spider webs everywhere. Also, the pictures look like they were taken 15 years ago, and they are in much worse condition. For breakfast, you get a banana and an egg. No mosquito nets on the bed, and we were bitten by many. Didn't have this issue when we moved to better hotel. Everything. I'm happy we only stayed one night. Also, the location is terrible. There are so many nice hotels at similar prices near the main road, where the restaurants are. You need to call a taxi to go out to eat something.
- Ana (10/5): Saw another beautiful destination met wonderful hosts. - The hosts are attentive and friendly. We had noisy neighbors — the walls must be thin, and it got pretty annoying at times.
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lea (6/5): Pleasant - The first room we had was super comfy, really cleaned and we enjoyed very much.
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - This homestay is a lovely place surrounded by nature, with lovely hosts and amazing breakfast! :)
- Amanda (9/5): Such a lovely couple running the homestay. Driving us back and forth to town for dinner and cooking class, helping organ -
- Sophie (10/5): Perfect thank you! - Beautiful little resort, with such friendly staff, extremely helpful!
Very quiet and peaceful resort The single beds were rock hard, and the plug sockets in the room didn’t work
- Bastian (9/5): We had a great stay and we recommend it. Hope to be back again one day. - the hosts are lovely and always available. The location in the nature is stunning.
- Kate (7/5): Good -
- Valentin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Inga (9/5): Superb - Wonderful, caring hosts. We felt at home. A great atmosphere, friendly dogs, and a beautiful environment. Excellent value for money. experience. Thank you so muc
- Severina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Geoffrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valerie (8/5): Very good -
- Piotr (10/5): Exceptional - The conditions are as in the pictures. The real strength of this place is the wonderful owners! They were very nice and helped us a lot in organizing everything! Thank you very much!9
- Nia (10/5): Exceptional - I got such a friendly and warm welcome from the owners of the resort. The whole stay, they were always helpful.
It was a clean room, nothing fancy. But it was okay because you aren't often in your room.
They help you with activities and other important things.
The Home Stay was a place where you could relax and just calm down. It was so comfortable.
The place wasn't loud at all. But you could also connect with people.
The breakfast was nothing fancy but really yummy. And that was okay too.
It really felt like home.
Thank you so much for the nice and comfortable stay.
See you again.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Petra (8/5): Very good - The place is nice and quiet, in the nature, The host was very kind and helpful. They arranged a trip to the lake for us, including the transportation for better money than some agencies offer, They also solved our problem with the dinner.
The breakfast was simple but tasty and we really appreciated it. There were only two fans, no aircondition, in the bedroom and two out of four beds were a little bit harder, but neither one of these were a big problem for us. But maybe someone could mind it.
- Rutger (10/5): Great 😍 - Absolutely loved this place, small little village and the owner is just lovely A bit far from the actual village, rent a bike beforehand
- Michał (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay in Homestay resort. Rooms and bathrooms were very simple, and maybe they could have little improvement. Resort is run with love by older couple, they are very friendly and helpful if it comes to arrange anything, from national park trip to transfer to next location. The dining area is amazing to just chill and feel jungle wildlife around you. Owners also free transport to the center of village in the evening for dinner.
- Donna (9/5): Great stay near Khao Sok! - Fantastic owners who helped us with seeing the best of the area!
Basic accommodation with comfortable beds!
Perfect location out of town a few kilometres… quiet and peaceful!
Nice breakfast included. Nothing
- Daphne (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay! Owners were really nice, the location is beautiful in the middle of nature. Would definitely recommend.
- Hannah (10/5): Such a beautiful place! - I cannot stress how lovely the hosts are here! They helped us organise all our tours and transport. The rooms and nice and clean. The hostess can no longer cook due to an injury, but is able to direct you to her niece's restaurant nearby which does great food for a reasonable price. Breakfast is still provided though!
- Guido (8/5): Very good - Beautiful place with very relaxing vibes, very good breakfast, exceptional ananas jam! A little too out of the town
- Océane (4/5): Disappointing - Price & good breakfast included. The room was quite dirty with many insects, colonies of ants, and old spider webs. We were not feeling comfortable. There is only 1 towel per person, and the rug for the feet in the bathroom is disgusting. No bed sheets are provided, only on the mattress and one blanket that I hope they clean... There is some moisture on the roof and some equipment would need to be renewed, for instance the plastic of the toilets. Finally, the soundproofing is terrible. We heard people speaking and coughing in the room above us.
The service is also very bad. I experienced the same thing some people complained about on Booking, that is, as soon as you do not book the tour with the landlady, you are not welcomed anymore. We had a few requests, which were all denied: disappointing but fine. But then everything turned out differently. She appears friendly, but it's a false friendly. It is always with interest behind, and she does not accept any criticism.
Every time we met her in the lobby, she asked us when we check-out and to not forget to give back the key when we would leave. Why would we leave in the middle of our stay ? We booked and paid for 2 nights, and she knows our dates ! On top of asking 3 times this same annoying question, she repeatedly asked us throughout our stay our plan and our next destination of the day, at such point it became intruding. She was trying to sell us things, I guess.
She seemed also to be very close to her money. She scrutinizes what you take at breakfast. I prepared 2 hot chocolates for my girlfriend and I, and she immediately told me with panicked eyes that 1 chocolate stick is enough because she thought I would use 2 for a single cup...
Breakfast is good but starts only at 8:00, which is very late and constraining to make the most out of the day in Khao Sok. There is no flexibility at all on the schedule, and our proposal of small breakfast box (as usually offered in alternative when breakfast is included) was denied.
- Anna (10/5): Amazing stay - Ms Eid and Mr Kum are the nicest people! Always smiling and ready to help. We felt like home :) they take a very good care of their guests and treat them like family. Location is amazing, you can really feel the jungle 💛 Don’t worry about the distance from the park entrance, Mr Kum was always ready to give us a lift to the restaurants and shops, we didn’t even have to ask. I am very happy that we had a chance to stay with them and meet them. See you next time!!!! Best wishes!!
- Maria (8/5): Beautiful, quiet homestay - The homestay is surrounded by nature and it's beautiful and quiet. The hut and the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was a good size with warm water (great after a rainy walk!). The owners were very friendly :) The breakfast was quite basic, and we even forgot it was included until our last morning. It would have been great to have the bins emptied throughout our stay but this is just minor. The wifi wasn't great in the room, so I would keep this in mind in case you rely on it.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - How relaxing it was Having to leave
- Laurine (9/5): Nice little Homestay in a very beautiful location! The owners are sooooo kind and so helpful! -
- Laith (1/5): Just dont - Nothing. The musty smell of room was unbearable, i couldnot stay in a room full of mould as it posed a health hazard.
All the walls of the room have mould and were painted over it( as you can see in the pictures)
When i told the owner that the room had a strong musty smell, she said she didn't see that as a problem since the room was occupied before me
I have requested a different room, and the owners rejected my request and was told to turn on the ac and open the window, and the smell will become "bareable".When asked to refund me at least one of the two nights i booked, it was also rejected.
In the end, i had to leave the property without a refund or using the rooms.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Eid & Koom are wonderful people, they’re so helpful & attentive. The property is lovely & has a really calming atmosphere. I hope
to come back one day The breakfast was quite basic, and the property is quite far
from town - would be good if there was more frequent transport
- Andy (10/5): Very good - We liked the kindness and hospitality of the owners. We liked also how peaceful it was. Nothing
- Lynda (9/5): Lovely welcoming homestay - beautiful welcome. lovely common area. good breakfast. the impromptu music sessions were wonderful. thank you for having us the dam was too muddy to swim in.
- Josh (8/5): Very good -
- Arena (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect! From the owner until the breakfast which was home made.
Thank you for everything, we recommend this place!
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Jeferson (10/5): Exceptional - For those seeking welcoming, friendly owners and staff, a quiet place away from noise, I highly recommend this place. The owners make everyone feel comfortable. The internet may not be reliable due to its location, but renting a scooter is advisable as it’s a 30-minute walk from nearby stores and attractions. Nothing, just have to run with my plans and not staying more days there.
- Lorz (10/5): Awesome spot, even better people - The couple that run this spot are some of the kindest most accommodating people I’ve met in my life. She gave us so many suggestions on what to do while in town. I arrived with a swollen ankle, one of the owners instantly noticed and gave me a whole container of a homemade rub to put on it. Their son in law gave us some bud that a family friend had grown. They offered us a ride back in the morning after we dropped off our scooters. Thank you guys so much!!
- Devin (8/5): Very good -
- Johannes (10/5): Astonishing atmosphere in the middle of the jungle - Such an amazing place. The magical place in the middle of the jungle was so lovely. Specially the owners were worth the stay. Such humble and friendly people, it almost felt like I was home! Not
Much to say
- Laura (8/5): Great place to stay - The owners are the loveliest people, so helpful and kind. Home cooked meals which are some of the best food we’ve tasted in Thailand. Basic rooms for the price as expected. Lovely peaceful place to stay if visiting the national park
- Regan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Przemyslaw (10/5): Exceptional - Great and lovely stay, very helpful hosts
- Kirsty (8/5): Very good - Accommodation is simple and clean. The communal area/restaurant is lovely with tasty food, friendly dogs and the owners are friendly and kind. Eid swiftly helped us out of a sticky situation on the last morning because the driver we had booked on the Grab app to take us to Ko Lanta cancelled on us.
Eid suggested we book a motorbike to explore ourselves and on our second day we rented a motorbike from a lovely company (Motorbike Rental Office) near the homestay for 300 baht and explored Khlongphanom National Park ourselves (100 baht entry). It was much less touristy than Khao Sok! The owner of the motorbike company came to collect us from the homestay to collect the bike and dropped us back after we took the bike back to him. We felt a little far away from anything else, partly in a good way (the main tourist strip was crowded and very touristy), but we hadn’t realised when we booked that the pier for the lake is 1+ hour drive. There is a separate Khao Sok park entrance is 15 minutes away, but this seems to be for trekking only.
We booked a 1 day lake tour through the homestay (1,500 baht each) but wanted to cancel it when we looked up the reviews for the tour company who were taking us (Khao Sok Skin World tour). We did not get the money back after cancelling. Eid informed us afterwards that she transfers money directly to the company and there are 10+ companies. She also said that other guests have always told her that they enjoyed the trip. We’d advise asking for the name of the company who are running the trip and looking them up beforehand or getting to the lake yourselves where there is an option to organise your own private boat.
- Anat (8/5): Very good - Very friendly and nice hosts, the garden and the pond is really beautiful.
The restaurant area is peaceful and inviting and general serenity and calm atmosphere. It's not the owners fault but- we have booked the 2 days 1 night stay at the lake with them and it felt like a scam.
The price is way too expensive for the horrific experience that we got.
The boats are overcrowded, the staff don't speak much English and certainly didn't explain anything about the lake or the nature around. To many people in the dining area, the toilets barely works and the noise of boats and 50 other guests is destroying the peaceful experience that could have been.
I would definately DO NOT recommend booking this tour, if you can afford it pay the extra cost for a nicer tour and if not, just take the day tour.
- Joris (9/5): Very nice owners and beautiful peaceful spot - The best owners who are super kind. Good food, amazing looking hangout spot, very peaceful and quiet. There's not much around, you'll need a scooter or car to get anywhere.
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Nice, clean and friendly place to stay! - The hosts were both so kind and helpful. Our room was lovely and clean with a good shower and nice beds. Our hosts helped us book an amazing day tour of the national park, as well as a taxi to our next stop! Breakfast was included which was good, eggs, toast and coffee! We then ate our evening meal at the property on our last night and it was so tasty, definitely recommend! Nothing! The only slight issue was WiFi didn’t work in our room but… it did work in the social areas!
- Przemyslaw (10/5): Great hosts, helped us with transfers and trips. Thank you khrub - Great hosts
- Daniele (10/5): Peaceful experience, far from the buzz - Nice quiet place in the woods.
The hosts are nice too.
The room is large, clean, with a/c and hot shower (water tap is cold though).
They offer simple meals too.
Cool music in the restaurant. Nothing really, it is a couple ok km from the town center, but we had a car.
- Christine (7/5): Excellent hosts. Good location. Good cooking but basic rooms. - Warm, welcoming hosts. Good location for activities. Very pleasant area to have breakfast and evening meal, cooked to perfection by Eid. Air conditioning in room. Very quiet. The rooms are very basic but the price reflects this. I didn't know you had to request to have the room cleaned but no problem having fresh towels etc. when required.
- Jo (10/5): Home from home. - The biggest welcome in all of Thailand. Beautiful, kind hosts. Amazing home cooked food and a little bit of karaoke too. Perfect. Thank you so much 🙏
- Amie (8/5): Very good - Chill vibes , gorgeous scenery and very welcoming owners. It’s about a 50 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the town. Clean room and nice bathroom. No hot water in our bathroom but was okay for one night
- Keely (10/5): Loved it! - I loved how relaxing and homely my stay here felt. The rooms were simple yet comfortable and same with the bathrooms but this gave an authentic feel. The highlight of my stay here was definitely the staff! Eid and koom go above and beyond to help and just make you feel at home, they are such sweet people!
- Paulo999888 (9/5): Beautiful relaxing stay! - I loved everything...the beds and towels were clean..the showers hot...the food served in evening fantastic...basic breakfast...the hosts were brilliant...such lovely helpful people...they made my stay....and arranged my fantastic day tour (1500 baht)...and ongoing transport to Koh Samui...thankyou x The accommodation is more rustic/jungle style...which I expected and enjoyed to be honest. It wouldn't suit someone who is looking for 'up market' accommodation.
- Marco (9/5): Quiet place in the green. Excellent hosts. - I stayed 2 nights and had a great time. This is a lovely resort in the green managed by the most kind and hospitable couple. Eid and Koo are like friends and do their best to make your stay a happy one. I loved everything here: the pond and green ground, with a variety of trees and birds to watch; Eid cuisine: loved the fried fish with chilly sauce; the open lounge music: liked Koo's selection. Eid can help too with indications of places of interest and with tour bookings.
- Gabriel (9/5): Superb -
- Garry (9/5): Fantastic location and wonderful hosts. - The property was in a beautiful location and the hosts, Eat and her husband were extremely accommodating. They went out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Eat is an amazing cook and made some of the tastiest Thai food. Her filled omelette and Green curry were the best I’ve ever tasted. Eat, also recommended the night safari in the jungle of the National park. Was a great experience and would highly recommend. I don’t really want to put anything in this section, as there really isn’t anything to dislike. The only thing that I would point out, is that the Homestay is a good half hour or more walk from the town. I didn’t have any transport but that was soon sorted out by Eat, who arrange for a moped to be dropped off at the Homestay.
- Maren (9/5): Superb - Had a lovely stay here! Eat and her husband are great hosts and made our stay even better. They picked us up form the bus station and organised tours to Khao Sok and transportation to Koh Phangan for us. In the morning there is a small breakfast and eat prepared some great food for us.
It’s a bit far out of town so you would need a scooter to go there but it’s actually not worth it. Just remember it’s a family owned homestay so you can’t except a 5 Star Hotel. Choose the bigger room it’s worth it.
- Claudia (10/5): Exceptional - We had the most delightful stay at Khaosok Homestay. The owners, a wonderful couple that owned the hotel for over 20 years, showered us with genuine kindness and attention to every detail. The serene atmosphere surrounded by nature creates a perfect escape, and the impeccable cleanliness and organization add to the overall charm. Not to mention, the best food in town! We felt truly at home and left with warm hearts, all thanks to the incredible hospitality of this amazing couple. Highly recommended for a memorable and heartwarming experience. -
- Kirsten (10/5): Amazing. - A wonderful couple will welcome you to their beautifully created little piece of peace. You get to live in the midst of nature, will get to taste the most delicious homemade dishes made with love and truly get to wind down. They provide help with finding the right your for yourself in which you can get to explore the national park.
- Sybille (8/5): Very good - Nice surroundings, the garden is amazing. The owner is a musician so we had nice music after dinner, very lively! And the room was spacious and comfortable. A lot of attention for details. Water provided. About 2 km far from the "village" and no bike rental so you have to walk a long time or take a taxi if you want to do anything. The homestay is also proposing cooking but it is a bit expensive (around 150 BTH for a meal).
- Sybille (8/5): Very good -
- Brady (10/5): Exceptional - Eid and Koom mad our stay so incredible! They are very kind and helpful with anything you might need. Delicious food, organizing travel plans, and connecting transport. Highly recommend!
- Przemek (9/5): Superb - Really nice and helpful hosts. They waited for us with late check-in and tried to help when we had a problem with transport. Broad choice of different activities and trips. Testy breakfast. -
- Alisa (1/5): Hotel price, hostel experience - The husband Cum was friendly throughout our stay, the jungle tour and also the mini van to Surat Thani were well-organized and the meals were good. My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Khaosok Homestay Resort. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
We had booked a room with mountain views and a private bathroom. However, upon arrival, we were assigned a shared 4-person cottage, and the bathroom facilities were also shared with other people. The room was not welcoming and felt like a basement without any outside views.
When we brought up the issue about the bathroom with the owner, she explained that the room we booked was damaged in a storm. We suggested that she could make it up to us with a free meal, which she awkwardly agreed to. However, when we told her what we wanted to eat, she told us that we choose meals that were too expensive. We agreed to pay a little bit for it. Afterwards she unexpectedly insisted that we only receive a discount of 100 baht on our dishes and excluded drinks from the offer. When we confronted her about it, she weirdly told us we didn't have to pay anything after all and asked if we wanted anything more. For us it wasn't about the money but it was about how she spoke and acted to us.
We felt uneasy because she treated other guests more kindly, and it seemed like we were being penalized for expressing our thoughts about the room. Interestingly, we discovered some similar complaints in a review from four months ago, suggesting a pattern of miscommunication.
While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, we believe the owner should have updated the room details or informed us appropriately. It felt unprofessional and misleading.
When we checked out, the owner remained silent and didn't bid us farewell, leaving us with a negative impression.
Shared bathrooms are not an issue, but if we had wanted that, we could have booked a more affordable hostel with a better location. Discovering this when we were already in the middle of nowhere was disappointing because we felt like we didn't have a choice but to stay.
- Yang (10/5): Exceptional - Very special atmosphere, stay with nature, quiet and peaceful, perfect wifi, owner is also a wonderful chef, delicious food. Also helped us to book a wonderful trip which we enjoyed so much. We enjoyed very much our staying.
- Mackenzie (10/5): Exceptional - The property was remote and so peaceful. The bamboo raft on the pond was fabulous. Lovely food aswell. I fell sick and the owners were so help giving me good food.
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional - We had an amazing stay at this property! Eat and Koom were so helpful, they helped us to book some great experiences during our stay in Khaosok and looked after us as though they are our parents. We had so much fun rafting around the small lake on their property and singing karaoke in the evenings.
The rooms are lovely and comfortable fully equipped with air con. Nothing
- Jessica (10/5): perfect! - The owners are so so incredibly kind! They helped us to plan everything, and it all worked out perfectly. The room was really clean and comfortable, in a really lovely setting. The food was amazing too!
