Staff do nothing to remove seaweed from beach so water unswimmable. Room dirty and out dated. Needs a serious upgrade. Only 3 of 5 windows have blackout curtains

Said (10/5): - This hotel is located on a quiet stetch of beach. I like the comfort of having a morning coffee right at the bistro with the gentle morning sea breeze. Our stay was comfortable although very short but worth it.
Christopher (8/5): - Beautiful setting on the beach. View from our room (King Fish) was fantastic. Great restaurant on site. Our time at the hotel was great. Might have been nice to be closer to other restaurants but Bistro was really good. Only issue was with the car transfer arranged by the hotel to take us to Flores. There appeared to be a scam at the Guatemala border which involved us being required to pay USD125 extra to continue our journey due to "vehicle paperwork" and our driver did nothing to help (or was involved). We did not pay and instead had to hitch a ride from some kind American tourists. The hotel gave us a partial refund of the prepaid taxi fare to reflect the shorter journey actually provided.

Corinne (4/5): If you’re not picky about cleanliness, and facilities, you can’t best the location of the one bedroom studio. Restaurant - Location. Right on the beach. Stayed in Dreamsicle lower level. Restaurant had decent food. Air conditioning started leaking on the bed at 11 pm first night we arrived after a long day. Didn’t get fixed. Shower had mold and mildew so I wouldn’t use it. They didn’t have toilet paper holder—had to reach behind on top of tank to grab a roll. Checked out after second day-had to demand a refund which they “approved” but to to-date—1–1/2 weeks—haven’t received. Had to file dispute with credit card company. Restaurant hard to get into. Must make reservations.

Marilyn (9/5): Quiet in the middle of nowhere. - Breakfast was very good..they had an item called a jack which was reminiscent of soapillas from New Mexico. The people working in the restaurant were fantastic, Hugh was an asset. You could walk to the bowlingling alley-no bowling but the food was really good. You could also walk to the Green Parrot. Not the fault of the hotel...just the location which was the same of all the hotels and resorts..you needed transportation for everything.

Das Essen vor Ort war auch gut und der Pool war sauber. Leider waren zu unserer Zeit viele Seealgen am Strand und im Meer, darum konnten wir leider nicht ins Wasser. Es riecht ebenfalls sehr stark und wir konnten abends kaum draußen sitzen aufgrund des Geruchs.

Additionally we had our own pool section away from the crowd and noise I didn't like that the AC wasn't working properly. It was flowing hot air and it didn't seem powerful enough to blow the air across the room even after I made the AC fan swing

Rudolph (9/5): Superb - The facility is located on the beach. I woke up to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. The coconut trees overlooking my balcony provided enough shade to maintain coolness from the morning sun, but at the same time not obscuring the beauty of the sunrise over the Caribbean Sea. While the management may have little control over this, the seaweeds that washed ashore and accumulated on the beach took away from the beauty of the sandy beachside. This is not isolated to Maya Beach Hotel, but it is a problem at most hotels along the beaches, almost countrywide. Some facilities employ workers to remove them daily, but that seems to be a challenging task.

Incredible location with the beach out our patio door. The large balcony was spectacular and spent lots of time enjoying. Used the kayaks, no additional charge. Saw manatee. We will be back.

jana (10/5): - Charming Beachfront Stay with Amazing Food We loved our stay at the Maya Beach Hotel on the Placencia Peninsula. The location is absolutely perfect—right on the beach, with the soothing sound of the ocean just steps from our cozy bungalow-style room. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was such a treat. The hotel has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, and the amenities really added to our experience. We took advantage of the complimentary paddle boards, kayaks, and bikes to explore the area and the beautiful coastline. One of the real standouts was the food. The on-site restaurant serves delicious meals with a creative and unique menu. Every dish we tried was fresh and full of flavor—definitely one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Belize. Maya Beach Hotel is a great choice for anyone looking to unwind by the sea while enjoying great food and thoughtful touches. Highly recommend!
Elma (9/5): Great place to relax - The location is great and the food is excellent. It took a long time to fill our dinner order at the restaurant. The bathroom in our room was very small.
Jennifer (10/5): - This place is where you want to stay! Cabana is right on the beachfront. Like 50 feet away. You can spend your days strolling down to the bistro Grill. The food is excellent. The staff is amazing! Super clean rooms with all the amenities. I can’t say enough good things about this place. You get to know the staff the manager walks around each morning asking if you’d like a cup of coffee brought to your porch. It just doesn’t get any better than this.
Karen (10/5): - It was relaxing, had great AC, fast and reliable Wi-Fi, and an amazing hot shower! Right on the beach, with a great restaurant within a few feet of the front door to our room. The sitting area was quite comfortable and the deck was a nice place to sit in the morning with coffee. Loved the swing on the dock gazebo, too!

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bistro has some of the best food around and their staff are quick, responsive, and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. You won't find a place that treats you better.

Exceptional dining - Top notch rooms appointed with great areas for relaxing and enjoying the unbelievable views! Our room didn't have coffee filters but the onsite coffee service at the bar opened at 6:30 am so we didn't need them.
Johan (10/5): Nice place with all amenities with nice rooms and direct access to sea. - Away from busy tourist area with all amenities, good restaurant with good food, direct access to beach, nice swimming pool, nice rooms with about all of them with sea view Nothing to mention but the dock needs a facelift with perhaps comfortable chairs and on the patios of the rooms also; chairs are for sure not comfy.
