Clean Place and Breakfast was good… For the Price it was Good. But The Lack of Staffing at Most Times was Very Disappointing. At One Point I had an Emergency, I Locked My Passport and Money in The Safe and Then Safe Wouldn’t Open! I was Starving I Needed to go Eat, But Instead I had to Wait Literally 3 Hours for Someone to Come and Help Me Because there Was No One in the Hotel at All.!!..They had a Menu for Food But Sometimes they Didn’t Feel like Cooking, So I don’t know what’s the point of having a menu if they Cooked Only Whenever they Felt like It?!

Great bedding, great tree top view allowed us to be entertained by mourning doves and hummingbirds. The breakfast was average for this area: eggs, fruit, fruit juice with or without sugar. In house roasted coffee. The manager and staff were efficient and friendly. We particularly liked Fernanda, the woman who served us breakfast on day one off three.

• elena (10/5): - We stayed at Dolce Lobo Boutique for 3 nights (2 families of 4, 2 adults 2 kids each). Ana Paula communicated with us before, willing to help us with the extra luggage that we did not want to take with us in Galapagos. The hotel is spotless, has a nice decor, very welcoming and a nice roof top. All the staff that we interacted with (from the owner, gentlemen at check in, Maria Fernanda and the other lady at breakfast) are genuinely great people, fast in communication, willing to provide information, be helpful and make you stay in Quito as best as possible. I should mention that this was the 2nd hotel in Quito for our stay. Even we had an enjoyable stay at the other place, the service and quality provided by this hotel is incomparable, at the same price. Good breakfast, great coffee and morning juice. On a nice street, but 5 minutes from market and many dining and entertaining options. $2-$3 Uber Drives to any place. $15 Uber to Mitad del Mundo. There many options in Quito and searching could be overwhelming. Spear your time and stay here. You will not regret it.

Great location, within walking distance of many restaurants, cafes and bars, also few minutes walk from the hop on hop off bus stop. Could be a little noisy at night as not far from the main road.

• Walid (10/5): If you're going to Quito, this is where you want to stay! - We spent our last days in Quito at Dolce Lobo and it really was the best end to our trip! The rooms were clean and modern. We would agree with other reviews regarding the beds, they were super comfy! Great location, close to Plaza Foch but still very charmig surrondings. The best with our stay was the manager of the hotel, Maria :) She took really good care of us! Served us great food, the best food we had in Quito! Sooo good! And the breakfast was served at their sunny rooftop terrace with a great view. Dolce Lobo has a very warm and friendly vibe and we would highly recommend it to anyone going to Quito!

• Edward (8/5): Quiet and comfortable in La Mariscal - Tucked away on a quiet, tree-lined side street, the hotel is very close to Plaza Foch. The room was very comfortable, especially for the price, although it did take quite a while for the hot water to get going. The staff were great about accommodating us with both our early morning and late night departures for trips. We were only there a short time but would seriously consider this as the base for a longer stay.

• Lena (4/5): - The Positives The building is clean and the rooms are a generous size. Breakfast in your room is delightful. Nadya was not on site the day we stayed but she was very communicative via email and emailed me several times before we arrived. I am sure she would do anything to help a guest. The Negatives The property does not claim to be a hotel - it is indeed a self-service stay. It is not staffed past 3:30pm so the 6pm arrival scenario is navigating an outer electronic gate; then struggling with a second inner door electronic key pad; then hauling luggage up stairs (there is no elevator); then a third electronic code for the room. There is no one to greet you, answer questions or offer advice. We did not find the neighborhood to be an enjoyable or desirable place to walk around and find a place to eat. The neighborhood is out of the property's control but I am critical of not staffing the property given the price of the room. The Best Part Next door to the stay sits a wonderful hip boutique coffee bar called "Manquri". The manager Jose Manuel came to chat with us as we waited for an Uber in the morning to change hotels. Jose was warm, friendly and engaging -- we shared our disappointment with the property and he gave us a bag of artisan coffee to brighten our day. Jose is a wonderful example of kindness and hospitality and we are forever grateful for meeting such a wonderful person. Gracias to Jose!

No staff available pm or evening for requests for toilet roll or a bath towel (only one provided for a couple). The room was wet on arrival as a window was left wide open. The pillows smelt fusty and damp. The sofa felt damp. The bathroom window didn't shut properly. The building, in general, smelt unpleasant. The morning staff person did not speak English. The owner offered to extend our stay but we decided to leave. Sweet Wolf .. more like Smelly Wolf.

• Thomas (10/5): Incredible stay, very memorable and exceptional service provided. - We absolutely loved our stay here. The room was incredibly comfortable and modern, and the shower was fantastic. The customer service provided was exceptional and they were very quick to respond to our enquiries as well as linking us up with a local guide. Once they knew it was my birthday, we were surprised with a cake and beers which really made it extra special. They also offer the option of breakfast in the room which was a nice touch. Couldn’t recommend staying here more, we loved it! The decoration on the bedroom walls could be more authentic to Ecuador or some art maybe would be nice to make it cosier.

The area was close to a lot of restaurants and generally felt safer than old town Quito (although I would still be cautious and take Uber after dark). Check in was straight forward and Nydia was very helpful and reactive at getting a small issue with my room resolved upon arrival. Wifi also worked well. The room got very humid after showering Having a hairdryer in the room wold have been nice I would have preferred to have taken breakfast outside in the room in a dining area. I found it a little intrusive that they would knock to bring breakfast as I was getting ready but I can understand that others might like breakfast in bed.

Minor dislikes: Access with codes after hours is a bit tricky. Only window in the room is a large curtained, glass brick area that lets in lght, but not fresh air. No air conditioner.

• Kristy (10/5): I left my heart at Dolce Lobo... - Our amazing experience started even before we arrived to the U.S. Nydia reached out via email to assist in arranging everything for us to ensure a smooth and comfortable arrival. When we arrived at the airport, Fabien was there to greet us with a smile and take us to the hotel. Upon arrival were kindly greeted by (Orlando?) reception to help us check in to our room. The room was clean, spacious and beds were extremely comfortable! The bonus was that we were in a room facing the well appointed, quiet, tree lined street. In the mornings we were happily greeted by lovely Hermania who delivered a fresh and beatifully presented breafast. Needless to say, I will be checking in to Dolce Lobo upon my return! She tracked down our missing baggage with the airline, and encouraged us to enjoy Quito while she arranged for it to be delivered. • Martin (10/5): Beautiful hotel, great staff - This is a fantastic little boutique hotel in a great part of Quito. The manager is amazing and helped when our bags got stuck at the airport and arranged transportation for me. Breakfast is bought to the room at a prearranged time and was really good. Overall can't recommend this hotel more highly! If you like the big chain hotels with gyms etc it might not be for you but if you after a boutique hotel then it's perfect. The restaurants nearby are very good!
• Kira (10/5): - Very comfortable and quiet boutique hotel. The first I didn’t feel well coz the altitude, so Nydia brought me tea and water kettle. It was so sweet and I felt very at home.
• Simon (4/5): - Comfortable room but no staff on site, an in room breakfast, window of translucent glass bricks, keypad entry made for s very isolating experience for a solo traveller
