Koffie uit Belize en welkoms biertje. De vriendelijke eigenaar die ons kwam afhalen aan de haven en die steeds klaar stond om al onze wensen te vervullen. Hij heeft ons ook een prachtige boottocht aanbevolen. Deze plek is ideaal voor personen die zowel van de rust als van het eiland willen genieten Niets…. Dat we moesten vertrekken…
- Carrie (9/5): Excellent location with an amazing view - Loved that it is in a quiet area with the ability to go into town with the free bikes provided. If I had to say anything it would be that it’s not the best if you want to get into the water. There are many other spots to do this so it’s not really a big issue.

Casa-apartamento con todos los complementos. Francis es súper atento y amable Algo alejado para salir a comer/cenar pero al tener tus bicicletas privadas no fue un problema.
- Zuzana (10/5): Amazing holiday home - Great property in a very quiet location, though still close to the restaurants. Francis has taken personal care of us. House is lovely, clean, kitchen is well equiped. We took tour with Francis as well, both were wonderfull. You can spend your time at the beach and will be there alone most of the time, since the property is small (pls note that swimming is not recommend, as pretty much everywhere on this island). We have very much enjoyed our vacation there.

Torrential rain the day we arrived so street leading to hotel was ankle deep in water on arrival. It subsided next day so not a big issue.

- Diane (10/5): - Francis is a such warm and thoughtful host. He greeted us with a complimentary pick up (and drop off) at the ferry and made sure we had a wonderful time. This is the only belizean owned waterfront property on the island, and I highly recommend this lovely hidden gem.
- Che (10/5): - Francis was knowledgable about the marine life having a degree in marine biology and being a park warden for 11 years. Everything looked as it was in the pictures and the room was excellent. Oil for cooking provided as well as everything you needed to make smoothies and meals. Friendly safe compound with use of bikes and kayaks.
- David (10/5): Best Place & Owners. Serenity, but near the action - Our stay at Blue Bay Cottages was amazing. The owners live on-site and are very helpful and friendly. They give you all the privacy you want, too. They're one of if not the only local lodging rental owners on Caye Caulker - so support them. He used to work in marine biology for the island, and is very knowledgable about the area and committed to respecting it. This also meant he gave us great suggestions on where to go to find a great beach and other cools stuff; when/where to take one of his well-kept kayaks; and respectable local businesses, behaviours, etc. They have well-maintained bikes for guest use on-site with locks. He has a nice dock and boat that he uses for guest snorkeling (and I presume fishing) tours. The dock is next to a little mangrove island that is bird central after sunset. Cabin was very comfortable, A/C worked great, etc., though we didn't spend much time indoors. There's a veranda on the roof you get to by stairs that provides great views. When we come back, we definitely hope to stay with them again. Can't thank them enough!
- Donna (10/5): Fabulously clean private cottage with an amazing view. - We loved our stay at Hidden Treasures BlueBay Cottage. Perfect location and Francis made us feel like family. He goes above and beyond. His motto is he sells peace and quiet. We will definitely stay here again.
- Beth (10/5): Great stay - We stayed for 2 weeks. The cottage is away from the crowds. It is quiet, just a short walk / bike ride away from restaurants. There are 2 bikes to use. We loved riding the bikes! The cottage is very clean. We recommend staying here. FYI, the food on the island is fantastic

- Cheryl (10/5): If I return to Caye Caulker, I would not hesitate to stay here again. - Lovely private cottage on the water! Amazing sunset views. You can view sea life right from the edge of the seawall - sting rays, fish, and crabs! The cottage is well appointed with quality items- sheets, pillows, mattress, furniture, kitchen items, towels, and a supply of spices, coffee, filters, and cold beer in the fridge! Bicycles are also provided. The AC cools the home quickly! There's a lovely covered porch- I wish at least a part of it was screened in to protect you in the evenings from the skeeters.
- Lynn (10/5): Very enjoyable and relaxing vacation, can't wait to go back - Everything met or exceeded our expectations right from the moment we were picked up at the water taxi by the owner Francis we felt very welcome. It was so nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the center yet close enough that a quick bike ride on the complementary bikes or a nice short walk and you could find some tasty treats at the bakery or delicious fresh fruit or juice. An evening dinner was a short enjoyable walk away. Everything was perfect

A direct access to the sea, calm and quiet place, a great hospitality of the owner Francis. Gated resort with bikes. On the south side of island away from the hustle and bustle. We will be staying here again. - Dale (10/5): - This property was special from the beginning. Owner, Francis, picked us up at the water taxi terminal and helped us bring in our luggage. He was informative on good places to eat nearby and the basic layout of the town. The cottage was immaculate, on the ground floor and equipped with coffee, sugar and some beverages. Bikes were provided for us and everyday we went to town to walk the beach, sightsee, grocery shop and eat at restaurants. For $5 US you can get a roundtrip boat ride with your bike across to Northside Caye Caulker where there are several fun restaurants to dine in. There are lounge chairs to sit in on the ocean side of this property where it's also fun to bird watch. We hope to make it back to Blue Bay Cottage some winter in the future.

- Laurel (10/5): - We stayed in the Blue Cottage Suite, which was a beautiful one bed studio apartment. Much to our chagrin, it rained three of the four days we were there, so we spent a lot of time in the room. I am so happy we were at Francis's home, and not a more traditional hotel type lodging. Lots of windows, two doors, a comfortable bed, TV with Roku, a great kitchen, including full refrigerator, fantastic kitchenware, everything we needed for a stay in room type trip. When it wasn't ready, we made great use of the provided bicycles, which were perfect for tooling around the island. I was very happy with our decision and would recommend this suite to others.

The property was beautiful with many custom touches including a fantastic shower, comfortable mattress and a couple Belikin to kick off our stay. Location was peaceful and private yet a simple bike ride to anywhere on the island. We loved exploring this Caribbean paradise.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed at Blue Bay Cottage for 5 nights over New Years. It is a nice place, very clean and less than a year old. The first 2 days of our stay there was no running water due to a problem with the island’s water supply. I understand that is not a usual problem , but a failure with the island water pump. It was fixed during our stay But we also experienced power cuts daily , so not able to have AC every day. I have since found out that the electricity on the island has been a problem for some time. It was around 80 degrees and humid so we did miss the AC and ability to use fans at times. Other than those problems we did enjoy our stay , went on a snorkeling trip to the Ho Chan Marine Preserve and swam with nurse sharks and sting rays! The food on the island is very good, grilled fish and lobster was excellent. One of our favorites was the Italian restaurant Pasta Per Caso, stop in to make reservations there.
- PAM (10/5): Fabulous Stay - It was a fabulous place to stay. I would highly recommend it and we'll definitely be back. Frances was very helpful and accommodating. He even provides bikes for you to use while on the island; which is the best way to get around unless you want to pay for the taxi golf carts or rent your own golf cart. The cottage itself was well maintained and perfect for a couple!

- Marc (8/5): issue over a stained sheet - The place is great, service was exceptional, room was very comfortable. The only issue was over a stained sheet. If they would have just changed it without question there wouldn't have been an issue, but the owned went on and on about how the stain got there. He needs to remember that the customer is always right. The less said about that sheet would have been best.
- Sung Woo (10/5): Perfect Place to Stay in Caye Caulker - Amazing place to stay in Caye Caulker! The photos don’t do justice to how great Blue Bay Cottage and exceptionally clean Francis keeps the place! The A/C is brand new and will keep you cool in the hot weather. The amenities are great: the place provides 2 bicycles (great for cruising around town – better than golf carts!), a 5-gallon water jug, and paddleboards to use. The back yard has a great dock where you can dive into the water as well. The location on the island was ideal: close enough to be a short bike ride into the restaurants and bars, but far enough to provide peace and quiet. Definitely stay here if you’re coming to Caye Caulker!

My husband and I stayed here the first week of October for our Anniversary and couldn’t have been more pleased. Our room seemed brand new and everything was very clean. Everything we needed during our stay was available. We didn’t cook much but if we wanted to, everything was there. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. What we enjoyed most was the peace and quiet. The location is close to all the action but quiet and relaxing for enjoying the early mornings and evenings. We even made use of the bikes that are provided....we hadn’t rode bikes in years! Francis was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcomed. We hope to make it back to Caye Caulker and if we do, we will definitely come back here.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice and private. Apartment style with its own kitchen. Seaside garden with a pier, great to watch the sunset or take a swim in the ocean. Quiet part of town away from the bars and restaurants, but still close enough, 15 min walk or 3 min bike ride to the Split. Very recommended!10/10

- Steve (10/5): Island paradise - Truly a wonderful experience. Peaceful and relaxing though only a short bike ride or stroll to downtown. The facility is all brand new with a wonderful pier and front and back patio for shade or sun at all times. Francis, the owner, takes the time to answer any and all questions. He gives you excellent recommendations for tours, meals and overall reviews of his culture and nation. He loves his country and his home and shares with all his heart. Blue Bay cottage and Caye Caulker exceeded our expections. We can give a complete and total recommendation for this facility and Caye Caulker!! We very much wish to return in the future. Cannot say the same about noisy and overcrowded Ambergris Caye.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - This cottage was exactly as pictured and more than met our needs for a 2 week stay on Caye Caulker. Francis was a great host and easily accessible if you needed him. Daily cleaning kept the place spotless and use of the 2 free bikes is just what you need to get around. Location is only going to get better as Francis has upgrades planned and there are already 2 new units available for rental so would be someplace we would return to with friends and family.
- Kate (6/5): - This was a 3 night stay in February '19. The room was pretty clean, but a lot of ants. We were bitten up by something in the sheets, and we found the bed to be very uncomfortable. The owner isn't especially friendly and it felt like he was doing us a favor letting us stay there. He also kept coming in to the cottage while we were out, not just to clean, almost every time we were out. We left the ac on extremely low (80ish) to keep the humidity down while we were out grabbing a coke or something in town, and every single time we came back to find he had been in our room again and had turned off the ac, which is how we knew. It felt strange to have our space constantly intruded upon, especially when we had paid to use the space and ac unit, and had not broken any rules. The owner gives you one flat sheet on the bed, no bedspread, so that was kind of odd. There was an old throw in the cabinet so I used that on top of the sheet. They also left used bar soap from the previous visitors in the shower, yuck. The door lock was also not working well while we were there. The good: the room is a good size, the ac works great when its left on, and the bathroom is very nice. The bikes were great to use in town. We appreciated not being right in town but visitors be aware that this is a short bike ride in without much along the way. Thankfully there are street lights the whole way! In all, I wouldn't recommend this property.

He is a very helpful with any questions you may have, whether is be on a place to eat or which company to take your snorkeling. Would absolutely stay again. - Jonathan and Gina
