The room was a comfortable size, and the pool was perfect for cooling off in the heat. Breakfast was enjoyable, with plenty of fresh fruit, and the owner was warm and welcoming.

Lots of great dining options and main tourist attractions in short walking distance. The room was really great and in the heat, great to dip in the pool and cool down. Great breakfast too & friendly owner. Would def stay here again!! Nothing!

• Ann-Kathrin (5/5): Exzellente Lage wird leider von Sauberkeitsmängeln überschattet - Exzellente Lage im Zentrum, aber trotzdem ruhig. Geräumiges Zimmer und Bad mit funktionierender Klimaanlage oder alternativ zwei Ventilatoren. Morgens gab es eine große Portion Frühstück (Pancakes oder Eier/Toast und Früchte). Kostenloser Kaffee und Trinkwasser waren durchgehend vorhanden. Es tut mir Leid hier kritisch zu werden, aber ich habe mich nicht wohl gefühlt. Der Boden im Zimmer war sehr dreckig. Ich habe dann etwas gesagt und es wurde direkt nochmal durchgemoppt, aber barfuß wollte ich nicht sein. An einer Stelle klebte noch ein Kaugummi. Die Bettlaken waren fleckig (hoffentlich gewaschen...?) und die Handtücher im Bad waren verfärbt und hatten Löcher. Alles ist ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, aber an der Grundsauberkeit könnte man durchaus mit einfachen Maßnahmen arbeiten. Dazu kam, dass meine Zimmertür sich nur schwer komplett schließen ließ, um sie abzuschließen. Auch die Fenster konnten teilweise nicht richtig geschlossen werden. Im Erdgeschoss suboptimal. Als alleinreisende Frau macht man sich da Gedanken. (Der Nachtwächter hat sich mir dann aber sehr freundlich vorgestellt, sodass ich mich trotzdem sicher gefühlt habe.) Ich bin durchaus tolerant, was einfache Unterkünfte angeht, aber für den Preis hatte ich mehr erwartet und vor allem mehr Sauberkeit. (Fotoupload hat leider nicht funktioniert...)

Hot shower, free coffee, and water (MAJOR luxury btw). Quiet, safe, and perfect for families. Only thing that may bother some people is cleanliness, I could tell my sheets had been used. I know it's hard to keep an old historic building clean.

Hanno prenotato per me l'escursione al vulcano Masaya a un buon prezzo. Camera spaziosa e con tutto il necessario. Vicinissimo ai bus da/per Managua. Camera rumorosa, di fronte alla strada, le finestre non isolano dal rumore. Poca chiarezza sull'orario del pickup per l'escursione, per dortuna sono arrivato mezz'ora prima in alloggio che giá la guida mi aspettava.

• Tim Lukas (9/5): Gutes einfaches Hotel mit 2 Pools in zentraler Lage in Granada. - Warmes Wasser in der Dusche, die zwei Pools. Kaffee sowie auch Trinkwasser stand den ganzen Tag unentgeltlich zur Verfügung. Es steht im Küchenbereich außerdem ein Kühlschrank und auch ein Gefrierfach zur gemeinschaftlichen Nutzung zur Verfügung. Das Frühstück war gut und es gab täglich viel frisches Obst. Die Lage des Hotels nur einen Steinwurf vom zentralen Platz in Granada ist hervorragend, eine Straße weiter fahren zudem die Busse zum Beispiel nach Masaya. Unser Zimmer hatte eine angenehme Größe, die zwei Deckenventilatoren und die Klimaanlage machten den Aufenthalt angenehm, das WLAN war stabil und vergleichsweise fix. Schön war auch, dass nach drei Nächten unsere Bettwäsche und unsere Handtücher gewechselt wurden. Der Besitzer Gerry (ein Ire, der seit 16 Jahren in Nicaragua lebt) war bemüht und machte uns zum Beispiel Vorschläge für Ausflüge, Touren, Restaurants oder Folgeunterkünfte für unsere Weiterreise nach Ometepe. Wir waren tagsüber viel unterwegs und schliefen nachts gut Insgesamt hatten wir einen angenehmen Aufenthalt und würden eine Bewertung von 8,5 geben (aufgerundet also 9). Die Sauberkeit und der Pflegezustand im Casa del Agua könnten allgemein optimiert werden, hier dürften bereits kleinere Arbeiten Wunder bewirken (z.B. die zahlreichen Spinnweben im Zimmer entfernen, die Wände im Zimmer neu streichen, hier löst sich stellenweise der Putz. Die Fugen im Badezimmer erneuern , den gebrochenen Toilettendeckel ersetzen, geborstene Bodenfliesen austauschen usw.). Während unseres Aufenthaltes war ein Maler damit beschäftigt den gelben Anstrich im Innenhof zu erneuern, sodass diese Anmerkungen hier weniger als Nörgelei, vielmehr als Verbesserungsvorschläge zu verstehen sein sollten.

• Carrie (9/5): Wonderful stay! - I stayed in a private room with ensuite and AC for 5 nights in August. This was such a cute little guesthouse, Jerry and his family were wonderful hosts, it was like staying with family. My room was on the main floor facing the pool and it was spacious with a comfortable bed. This was the only hotel in all of my time throughout Nicaragua that had actual hot water, I was pleasantly surprised! The pool was cleaned daily and definitely a welcome break from the heat. Breakfast included was eggs or pancakes with fruit and coffee. Jerry was very helpful and booked all of my shuttles and tours for me. The location was fantastic with many great food options steps away (check out Eddie’s café for amazing smoothies, or Taqueria Mazatlan for amazing tacos). The main square was also steps away, but it was quiet at night, and they had 24-hour security keeping an eye on things. Overall, I liked this place and would stay again. My only recommendation is to update the curtains in the rooms for privacy reasons, as they didn’t fully cover the windows.

• Barrett (10/5): Diachamba - I would seriously live here if I could. It's rare to feel at home when you are not. Gerry, the owner is wildly interesting and extremely helpful and kind. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. You have two pools to enjoy and a nice open kitchen ( often shared kitchen are enclosed and hot, this is by the pool. The art is wonderful. I really can't say enough good things about this place. I'm sad I can't stay longer. Must check this place out when in Grandada for sure. Nothing negative to say.

• Brown (8/5): This is a great place to stay in Granada. - The location is great. You are just off the center square of Granada, Gerry maybe Jerry is from Ireland and owns the hotel. Jerry and the staff are more than helpful with your breakfast and any activities you want to do. We felt safe while there, we did not use the pool but it looked clean. Nothing to do with Casa del Aqua but we did have a bad experience with a man named Angel. We agreed on a tour of the islands for 16 USD for two people. At the end of the trip he demanded 60 USD. It sucks to get gringoed!
• Robert (9/5): Charming small villa just off the main square. - Large colonial style rooms. Classic design throughout. Courtyard pool. Shared kitchen space. Shame they won’t take cards without a 20% surcharge.

• Sarah (10/5): Perfect stay!! - The facility looks just like the photos. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, approachable. The room was clean and the shower even had hot water and the room had air conditioning!! (Both are definitely luxuries in Nicaragua!) After staying around Nicaragua at other facilities and hostels, Casa del Agua was a beautiful treat. Can we please mention the glorious coffee and breakfast included?? It's adjacent to Parque Cental and close to everything, yet still quiet and comfortable beds. Owner helped us find a taxi to Volcan Mombacho (Masaya is still closed). Highly recommend this stay!
• Robert (9/5): Great place near all the tourist stuff. - A/c, private bathroom, great location, very nice people. Great price. I wish the common refigerator was bigger(it stayed pretty full while there), but not a big issue.
• Alpan (8/5): Lovely Little Casa with a Pool - Nice big rooms with AC, delicious pancakes for breakfast and who can say no to a pool after a long, hot day of discovering the town? The location is great, just next to the main plaza and close to shops, restaurants, etc. Our room, especially the bathroom, was a bit dated. Also please consider providing a floor mat for the bathroom as it gets pretty slippery after showering.
• Leon (9/5): Superb - Great location, very good pancake breakfast included, great staff, and el dueño, Jerry, was a great source of local information, day excursions info, and suggesting snd arranging local transports. Great hot showers and decent air conditioning. All round great value in this beautiful colonial town. I would return anytime. No complaints.
• Richard (9/5): Friendly, family-style atmosphere, half a block from Parque Central - Small hotel with kitchen and large dining table in the central courtyard. Guests can sit together for breakfast and have access to the kitchen if they wish to dine in. Nothing
