- Mantas (10/5): - Staff were very friendly and helpful

- Ella (7/5): - Cute wooden cabins to sleep in with good space for bags. Homey vibes and a small kitchen to cook in. The staff won’t let you hang around before 4pn check in or after check out, they say to “clean the house” but it’s ridiculous to say it takes 10am-4pm to clean and no one can be in the common area.
- Sirak (8/5): Sehr hervorragend!

- shammi010 (10/5): - Everything near by
- Wayne (9/5): - Clean and comfortable and good location in a more traditional style hostel
- Sanad (10/5): - Friendly staff, traditional building, great location, comfortable beds, clean.
- Natasha (3/5): Tiring, barely slept a wink - Really nice staff and living room area. The futon bed is comfy The hostel bedroom is bad. The door doesn’t get opened often so it smells very musty in the room. The wooden bed frames are creaky so every movement makes a noise. The curtains on the beds are loud and will wake you up. The frames have gaps so if your neighbour turns on their lamp, your whole bed is light up as well. I went in March and it was very warm even with the little fan, I cannot imagine how hot it gets in the summer. Only one bathroom sink to be shared between 16 people.

- Krystyna (8/5): Dobry dla mało wymagających podróżnych - Do hostelu można łatwo dojechać wieloma liniami autobusowymi. Fajna wspólna przestrzeń, dostęp do kuchni.

- ian (9/5): - That out was like you expect old Japan to be like, sliding wooden doors etc When I asked to stay an extra night, that wanted to double the price😲
- Maya (5/5): - It's a good location to stay in Kyoto There is no window in the room and basically no ventilation. Thus, with no surprise, there is mold...
If you stay in the dormitory, don't be claustrophobic.

- Gvantsa (10/5): Live like a local, it is indeed different world - It had the super location, quiet and in a really beautiful neighborhood. If one wants to live like a local, this is the place to stay. Supermarkets, cafes, bars, bakeries, vintage shops, lots of temples, and what's most important for me, sentos, there are 5 different sentos just in 10 minute walking distance.
I had a beautiful room, with a big window overlooking the street and fresh air every morning. The kitchen was comfy as well. really big common area, and what i like the most, it's all in an old traditional house.
Staff are always helpful, so would return there. :))))
- Natalia (10/5): Amazing - Si Nada
- Adrian (10/5): -
- Rosa (8/5): - I love the building, a Kyoto old house keeping it's style and legacy
- Bruno (8/5): -
- Emil (3/5): Poor condition, no staff - just book somewhere else - Decent location and potential to make it into an okay hostel if they did some light renovation. The pictures are a polished version of reality, the sheets were very dirty, lack of ventilation meant it smelled moldy, all the rooms are in poor condition, there was no staff in the morning or evening and while they quickly responded to emails before arrival there was no response during our stay.
- Viktoriya (10/5): Would go again - Great experience. I personally loved the cozy neighborhood view out of the window - nothing special, but it made for a great reading environment! Everything was great. The only thing I could point out is the lighting system in the common areas. I suppose it's some sort of sensor-based system, but at times it seemed like it had a mind of its own :) Everything was working though, so it was all good fun.

Space for your luggage next to bed
Free coffee and tea Depending on your goals, might be bit far from the Markets. 1 hour away by walk, 25 min easy by bus. But close to golden temple and arashima

- Kpln (7/5): It's good value for money. There are many minor areas for improvement. It could get better over time - The beds were very restful. The area was spacious. Traditional doors and windows have too many gaps, causing noise. Some plumbing is improperly installed. Some areas lack adequate insulation.
- Jiménez Calvo (10/5): -
- fimbrethil (6/5): -
- Aleksey (10/5): - Enjoyed every moment of my stay there.
- Alice (8/5): - A nice hostel, especially for solo travelers, in a nice position in a quiet street, pretty much close to everything, convenience stores and restaurants
- Roberta (8/5): -
- Cameron (5/5): An ok place to sleep - Easy access to bus lines and shrines in the northwest Kyoto. Several ramen bars were within a five minute walk with friendly staff. Horrible installation. The second you open the dorm door you're getting blasted by frigid air. The dorm and common room was warm, but since everyone has to stay there for warmth, it starts getting humid. If you're only in the hostel to sleep and shower, then it's good enough.
- Sacha (9/5): -
- HIBIKI (10/5): -
- Malinalli (8/5): -
- Mary Grace (6/5): If you are brave enough and very old properties doesn’t bother you, this is an okay property. - Close to public transportation and many attractions to get to by foot. You can cook at the kitchen as well. Probably because it’s a very old property, we really find it creepy with the floor creeks whenever someone is walking and very small to tight spaces with minimal lighting. It was hard sleeping we felt a bit scared 😅
- Kiara (8/5): -
- WATANABE (8/5): -
- THIAM SAN (8/5): Normal. - The staffs are very friendly. Only can check in on time. Not available for early check in. The bed very soft.
- Tamara (8/5): - Comfortable beds price is very high as in whole Kyoto :c
- Ferdinand (9/5): Good -
- Jennifer (9/5): - Great location, interesting old area. Good common areas with space to meet other travelers. Quirky old building, a nice taste of an original home. Nothing
- Charlotte (6/5): -
- Ricardo (6/5): -
- Barrios Ramirez (5/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): Thank you, Hostel Otro Mundo! - Wonderful staff and great atmosphere. Decent cooking facilities. Taller travellers like myself have a few spots where you need to mind your head!
- Dickson (10/5): -
- Danny (9/5): Great for travellers/backpackers - Had the basic facilities which is all we needed personally! Anything other than basic facilities costs extra, such as baggage storage after check out, towel rental etc. To be expected as it’s a hostel, but just something to be aware of
- Kenny (8/5): - It was clean, the staff were lovely and it was good value for money. Took at least 30 minutes to get into Kyoto - a bit further than we would have liked. There were only 2 showers for the whole hostel, so sometimes had to wait.
- Costa Formigal (10/5): -
- Marie France (7/5): -
- Topia (10/5): Amazing value for money - Beautiful old style Japanese home, it felt like you were in someone’s house. Map of the nearby facilities, onsens and guide around the property upon check-in. Staff were extremely friendly. I slept well, everyone was very respectful. All bathrooms were cleaned daily. I would definitely stay here again. A bus to Kyoto station was 230¥ flat rate fare but would take about 30 minutes, however there are plenty of facilities in the area.
- Dhouibi (9/5): -
- Matteo Martin Fabio (8/5): -
- cdjammer (7/5): It's a place to stay but not secure - Friendly vibe among guests. They provided a nice guide to places around the hostel. Bunk cubbies: fan, light, outlet, locking trunk that is big enough for standard small sutcase. Odd layout. Hair dryers are positioned so anyone can hear them from their beds. Low ceilings - at 6'3" I was ducking all the time. The building has an always unlocked front door; anyone can enter at any time and the front desk rarely has someone there. Awkward getting in and out my bunk; they are build with plain plywood and all sounds from other bunks in the room will be heard. Kyoto being so popular and this place being cheap, especially with college crowd, you'll likely hear people hooking up in the room after the bars or just couples in their bunks whispering and doing their thing.
- kyle (8/5): - Great hostel for the price point I'd stay here again. Staff is great and they have all the amenities promised. If booking a private room, book the tatami room and futons not the western bedroom, the mattress springs are deadly. Air conditioners are pretty dusty and have some mold, they could use a cleaning. But overall it's a excellent place to stay on a budget.
- Kristina (9/5): -
- ALEXANDRE (9/5): -
- Charles (6/5): - Cozy, gas stove If you’re tall you will hit your head a lot.
They will charge you 1000 yen if you remain in the kitchen or living room 1 minute after 10:00 :/
- Nikola (9/5): -
- Anaïs (10/5): -
- Mehdi (8/5): -
- jonathan alonso (10/5): - Todo bien
- Manuel (10/5): -
- Jeremy (7/5): Interesting hostel in a Japanese House in a good location. - The hostel was in a traditional Japanese house which was interesting to stay in. There was a large lounge for socializing, and a kitchen for self cooking. Enough showers for guests , and everything was clean. Good location with local shops, and easy access to buses to explore Kyoto Watch your head! low doorways
- Tsung-yu (6/5): Pleasant - everything here is well, although the train station is far away, the bus station is close. in addition, I also enjoy the way walking from nijo to here. Sound proof not that good
- Antonio (7/5): Good -
- Terpe (5/5): Passable -
- Madeline (7/5): Affordable stay in Kyoto - Quiet location with friendly and helpful staff. They were very accommodating when we sent our luggage forward to them! There’s a good opportunity to meet people in the common areas if you’re into that. Free tea, coffee, and the kitchen area is sufficient to make your own meals. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash included in the showers. Close to bus stop that takes you anywhere. Uncomfortable bed (you can feel the springs digging into your back) and no towel provided (you have to pay extra). Staff is also only working from 16.00-21.00 so it’s a pretty limited time frame to catch them.
