• Yang (10/5): Highly recommend - Such a comfy stay and totally worth the price ，now I know why this place has the highest rating around Airlie Beach! The location is spot on: just a few minutes’ walk to the main street and Woolies, super handy for food, shopping, and tour pick-ups. The view is amazing — you can actually see the marina and even Hamilton Island right from the place. Ken and Mary are honestly the warmest hosts I’ve met in Australia. Mary welcomed us with a tour of the facilities and even a bottle of champagne when we checked in. Ken was awesome too — he drove us to the beach and a lookout with gorgeous, hidden-away views we’d never have found on our own. This stay has definitely become one of the highlights of our Whitsundays trip. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Our hosts were lovely & we liked that it was pet friendly. Off street parking was available Not an issue for us but there are steps from the car park to the unit which may be difficult for anyone with mobility issues

• David (10/5): It was a very enjoyable experience. We intend to book the same property next time. - It is a well located well appointed property with sea views and, importantly for us, dog friendly. We stayed three nights, which gave us two complete days to explore the local area. Car parking on site would have been better however, having said that, we were able to park just across the street from the property and drive our car into the carport for unloading on arrival, and loading up on departure.

Great space Ken met us and was lovely, full of info He recommended a great dog sitter which we used, she was fantastic, perfect if you want to go on a boat trip! The apartment is up a steep hill and there’s lots of steps up so no good if you have walking difficulties! Plus there’s a steep edge so we put our dog on a lead with the door open so he didn’t fall.

• Cullen65 (9/5): Simply Bella - The location is superb with expansive views across the harbour at Airlie Beach. On clear days, the Whitsunday Islands are clearly seen. The bed was very comfortable as was the lounge. Ken, our host, couldn't be more helpful. He assisted us to unpack and pack our vehicle as we had to negotiate two flights of stairs. He provided sound advice regarding things to do in the local area. He also kindly provided us with a meal as we arrived late on our first night. He is a very genial host. Our pet was made very welcome throughout our stay. Negotiating the stairs as they are steep. It was important to remember everything you needed either in the apartment or your vehicle, as unnecessary return trips up or down the stairs can be tedious.

Ground floor guest accommodation was excellent, very clean and comfortable. Location is superb, just a short 10 min walk into town, very quiet cul-de-sac and being on a hill the views are sensational. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, would definitely stay again. Highly recommend. Nothing to dislike, although perhaps the stairs from carport to stay could possibly be difficult for some people.

• Lyjelle (9/5): The best views, watching the sunrise over Airlie from our bed was pure magic! - Excellent location and view over Airlie Beach. Clean and tidy little space. Hosts are very accommodating and flexible and easy to deal with. I'm usually reluctant to stay at private residences where the owners share the site, however we didn't see or hear them other than to collect the keys and have a chat about the local area. Mine was a very last minute booking with not only two dogs, but large ones at that. I was very concerned about finding suitable accommodations however the hosts went above and beyond to make my stay possible, and I am forever grateful. It is not clear from the advertisement that the space is attached to the lower floor of a private residence. Because I missed this, I also didn't realise that there was no fencing at all as I had incorrectly thought I was renting a whole house, which had a fenced balcony. Just a little misunderstanding but it did not impact my one-night stay, at all. We noted that there was a coffee pod machine, however tea bags and instant coffee satchels were provided, only. No coffee pods or milk was available. Just a small thing that I have become accustomed to during our travels.

• Dave (1/5): Don't do it stay at a 5 Star hotel for the same price - the View Not Pet friendly it is a poorly maintained overpriced Granny flat underneath ill-mannered people. You can hear everything that goes on upstairs, and it makes for and uncomfortable experience. These people will try and scam you if you take your Pet and you have no privacy. Its like a bad dream that you had to pay for.

The bed is so uncomfortable and the cleaner didn't clean to a satisfactory standard unfortunately, there was dog hair on the floor, the toilet hadn't been cleaned on the front at all and toothpaste was still in the sink in the bathroom. I'll always leave an honest review even when the hosts are nice. For the money we paid I feel this space isn't private at all and was a bit of a let down for us.

Hosts are kind people to talk to and welcoming, we received a very nice welcome basket, even with some wine, but we found tone of communication over e-mails with millions of rules and penalties disturbing / extreme / a bit aggressive. For example, we preferred to use our own beach towels for laying on the beach as there are extreme guidance on how the towels should not have any stains on it after use or facing penalty (how can I avoid that?). It looks like a rental / AirBNB, not a booking.com.
