Guest Reviews
- AV (10/5): - Perfect place to stay in Marrakech Medina. Staff very friendly. Recommended
- Rajesh (8/5): - Great location, staff were great but in need of a little TLC. Would go back.
- Shareen (2/5): Worst - Worst experience that zi ever had . I booked my accommodation with hotels.com and paid for that already.
When we arrived at the accommodation the door was locked and no one opened . We stood on the street in a foreign place unfamiliar with the surrounding for 2 hours. Called hotels.com and was on the phone for 2 hours and they could not get a hold of the hotel as well. Frustrated, tired and disappointed with the answer from hotels.com we looked for another place.
Very disappointed that such a big corporation will be in partnership with such a place.
The place and surrounding also is nothing as it looks like on the picture.
Very disappointed and frustrated. Urge hotels.com to have extra due diligence while getting into partnership with such place.
- Lisa (8/5): - This was a lovely riad. The staff was excellent, very friendly. The location was hard to find, and there was a lot of construction on the way to the riad. Once in, however, the room was beautiful
- judith (8/5): - The accomodation is near to all important places. Just 5 min walk. It is a quiet neighbourhood. The breakfast is simple and every day the same. The hostess is very friendly
- Gregor (10/5): - War super alles
Gerne wieder
- Hani (2/5): - Apart from being close to town center and yet quiet, place is very filthy, property co dition is horrible, service is mediocre though the staff tried their best to make up for the deficiencies, food is horrible, one person is assigned to clean and to cook and serve. Plates chipped and towels ripped and filthy. The place and room not as per the description. The rating given is inaccurate and very misleading. Nothing would make me go back even if i were paid to stay there.
- Marta (6/5): - The Riad is average, not bad, not great. It was reasonably clean. We didn't get the room that was in the photo but I'm coming to see that seems to be common practice in many accommodations. The breakfast was ok. There is only 1 staff member/owner it seems, and we didn't get an energetic welcoming vibe unfortunately. The location is down a road with construction, but it was well lit at night which was comforting. It's quick access to the main road when dragging luggage on dirt roads.
- MUHAMMAD (6/5): - The room was smaller than listed on the website and amenities were non existent. The room was not cleaned for the second night of our stay.
So weit, so gut.
Also wandte ich mich erneut an Expedia.
- Ahmad (2/5): - Horrible and filthy
- Leila (10/5): - I stayed at the Riad Faraj from October 13-15 , the staff was so friendly and welcoming upon my arrival. I was happy to get a room on first floor right across the pool. The aesthetic of the Riad is extremely modern , authentic beautiful Moroccan style. Rooms were clean and spacious. I love the staff here they are so friendly and helpful.
The breakfast is so tasty , nice presentation and beautiful view. Genuinely so soothing to eat your breakfast while relaxing in the peaceful ambience.
Highly recommend this RIAD to anyone travelling to Marrakesh, it is also located in the perfect area.
Will definetly be coming back here any time I stay in the city .
- Santiago (10/5): - Property is beautiful parking is offsite 10 euros a night location is great .
- Amir (4/5): - I didn’t like this riyad I don’t recommend it. Firstly the towels smelt horrible. I asked for fresh clean towels everyday and reported the smell but the manager said that it was the smell of the detergent they used. It had a horrid smell it made us feel sick we didn’t feel like using them. The bathtub isn’t on a slant it’s all straight so the water takes ages to drain, in other words you’re just stood in a pool of water. The bathtub was also covered in lots of rust stains which wasn’t pleasant. There was no WiFi the whole week we stayed, I kept asking the manager when will it be fixed but she just kept saying “maybe tomorrow. Maybe later”. It only started to work on our last night how convenient(!). The air condition in our room was rubbish, it had very weak power, I could barely feel it.
The only only convenient good thing that came from the riyad was that it was near the Jem al Finna square and the markets etc, all the good spots were in walking distance.
- Pierre (4/5): - Awful, uncomfortable bed, air conditioning barely worked. Old bath towels full of holes. Water barely trickled. Breakfast was recycled from days prior. In the middle of our stay the manager asked us to pay the two coffees and water we had ordered before because their cash box was empty. Pool full of dead bugs. Asking for extra toilet tissue was always an issue because they rarely had any. Beautiful road but they seem to get lost in the details that matter most. We will never return and certainly never recommend to anyone.
- NIDIA (8/5): - The road is beautiful! Nouhaila was amazing as well as Zacarías ! I truly had no complaints other then the sheets in my room were not clean and when I left my key to have the towels changed when I returned the same towels were there. They did immediately noted minor repairs needed and did it on the spot! Breakfast was great! The tea was great! The pool area beautiful and everything about this place was perfect. Walking distance to everything. Pick up for excursion were down the street or a 5 min walk. I truly enjoyed staying here.
- Francime (8/5): - It is a nice place.
- Ayoub (10/5): - Great staff
- Luc (2/5): - ARNAQUE - PRESTATION NON CONFORME -

- Ismail (10/5): - During our four-day stay at Riad Faraj, we were thoroughly impressed. The staff went above and beyond with their kindness and assistance throughout our visit (Zakaria, Idris & Nuheyla). Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with an introduction to Marrakech's activities and treated to traditional mint tea. Though our initial room had a minor issue, the staff promptly upgraded us to a nicer & bigger room, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction.
Overall, our experience was exceptional, and we appreciated the thoughtful gestures from the Riad Faraj team.
- Andreas (4/5): - worn place, needs renovation and cleaning. very, very unpleasant smell in the bathroom. way, way to expensive for what you get. we‘ve been in two other riads on the same trip for half the price and double fun.
- Mary Lynn (10/5): - Incredible staff service, attentive and responsive. Knowledgeable, approachable/personable. Went over and beyond to assist.
- Marc (6/5): Great location, nice staff, regular hotel. - Location is great and their staff is very friendly and helpful.
However, the hotel room is quite poor. There is an important lack of maintanance like there are no towel racks, toilet paper racks, there is no body cleaner only shampoo, or humidity on the shower walls (see pictures) but I have to say everything was clean.
- Sérgio (10/5): - I was very pleased with the service, very friendly staff. 5 star
- CLIVE (10/5): -
- CLIVE (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location very close to most sights, but quiet for a good night's sleep. Would go again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Riad and location - Great Riad located about a 5min walk from the main square. Nice rooms and very friendly staff. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here
- Muriel (10/5): Comfortable and close to the centre - It was pleasant to stay in this riad. It is within 5 minutes walk to Jamaa el Fna Square and a good walking distance to other attractions, therefore we did not need to book any taxi at any point. The staffs are all very nice and accommodating and I am very pleased with my short break in Marrakesh. The riad itself is clean and very comfortable. The rooftops are a great way to relax and catch more sun. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for a fee.
Delicious breakfast is included with our stay and it is a good way to try authentic Moroccan breakfast.
We asked for a shuttle transfer to and from the airport and it was sorted out quickly.
In summary, me and my husband are very happy with our stay and definitely recommend this place !
- Rayna (8/5): - Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Riad Faraj. The staff was very accommodating and helpful and the dinner we had there was GREAT. On the downside, our room was very small and the floor mats beside the bed needed to be cleaned. The shower didn’t drain properly so we stood in a pool of water while we bathed. For the price, it was satisfactory and we did enjoy our stay. Thank you!
- Elisabetta (10/5): Hotel bellissimo - Un hotel bellissimo e personale molto gentile
- Mustapha (10/5): - Nice
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location but that's about it... - The riad is gorgeous with close proximity to the main square but the good things kind of end there. The receptionist only really cared about selling us trips and spa services. The room is basically just a room. No nightstands, nowhere to really put the luggages, no iron (as in the riad doesn't have an iron at all), no comforter or covers just a thin sheet, bathroom drain was very very slow so you are just standing in a pool or dirty water while showing. It's beyond me how this is classified as a 4 star accommodation
- wissam (10/5): - One of the best hotels to stay at in Marrakech. The service was amazing the people treated us so well. The cleanliness was excellent. I would definitely recommend booking here.
- Stuart (10/5): Amazing stay - I have an amazing stay at Riad Faraj. I was warmly welcomed with a pot of mint tea - very refreshing after a long flight. Abdullah was brilliant - he was on hand to give me advice on day trips, resturants, how to get to other cities and took care of a lot of the bookings. His welcoming and friendly persona made my trip very special.
The rooms are gorgeous, and clean and the location is superb for the Jemaa el Fna Square and the souks, but remain peaceful at the same time.
- Russell (10/5): Lovely hideaway in Medina - I was on a business trip with two others and the hotel was wonderful. Very nice staff, very helpful. Truly right in the Medina so lots of access. Recommend the shuttle from the airport (they provide) if you haven't driven in Marrakech. Glad we did. Though, they did help others park. Overall, very peaceful retreat considering the location.
- Louis Philip (10/5): Riad Faraj - The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great being close to the medina, square, tombs, and palace. The Bahia Palace, the Jardin Secret, and the Jardin Marjorelle were my favorite. Marrakech is beautiful and intense with many nice people to help at a price. Two very nice meals at the Riad. Great roof top patio.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Oasis in the Medina - Riad Faraj is an oasis in the heart of Marrakech. It is completely quiet on the terrace or by the pool, where the water rolls down a black marble wall and swifts fly over your head. In spite of this it is only a 2 minute walk from the Jmaa El Fnaa - perhaps the liveliest Market in Morocco.
Monsieur Abdo is extremely welcoming, and is very attentive to his guests. While here I ate in the Riad almost every night where the chef prepares beautiful Tajine chicken, beef, or fish, depending on availability in the market. The one night I ate out it cost more, and the food was not as good. I also took advantage of the on location spa, where a traditional Moroccan massage will transform your day.
You can't beat this gem for a stay in Marrakech.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Amazing 2 star place, not 4 stars. - Place is great for a 2 star rated accomodation. This is NOT a 4 star accomodation. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE THEY LOCK THE FLOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE MASSIVE FIRE LIFE SAFETY HAZARD!!!! we wanted to leave at 6.30am for our hot air balloon ride - we couldn’t leave because they had locked the whole floor level from the outside. We had to knock very loud as there was no intercom or contact number to dial. The person then came rudely awoken form their sleep due to our knocking and annoyed why and where we were going at 6.30am!!! How on earth is that any of your business. You do NOT lock an egress pathway, ever !!!!
There are no toiletries provided. Water is charged for. No kettle or tea facilities. Moroccon welcome hospitality at start then charged for mint tea that was offered. No tissues in room, when asked for tissue got given two pieces of serviettes. Had to ask for toilet roll. Room cleaning is NOT everyday. Towels are only every second day !!!! (How on earth is that 4 star????????). Would highly recommend to stay at an internationally recognised 4 star hotel and not a self claimed 4 star Riad. We had as silver hotels.com member beverage credit. Yet we were charged for water on check out aswell. Our credit amount outweighed 5 folds the amount of water that was charged so instead of giving us free water to the equivalent value of the beverage credit, we were charged.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I have nothing negative to say about Riad Faraj. It is a beautiful, clean place with outstanding staff. it is well located close to the action but not on a busy street. The spacious roof terrace is a pleasant place to enjoy the evening. .
- Louise (8/5): - Stayed for 4 nights. The riad is in a great location, close to a lot of the sights. It is down a quiet road so once you step into the riad you are in calm quiet environment which is perfect after the craziness outside! The riad has plenty of outdoor space to relax. We liked the loungers on the roof terrace where we could lie in the sun. The staff are super helpful and friendly. Rooms are a good size, well maintained although basic. There’s no tv, no coffee making facility and the bed is very hard. They are the only negatives and we could live with that. Lovely shower gel and shampoo are included and a hairdryer. Breakfast is also included and is continental style and tasty and changes daily. Overall happy with this stay and would recommend.
- RobIna (10/5): - The riad is beautiful! Such a big guesthouse for 6 rooms. So many places to relax and chill, including the roof. The staff were lovely, cannot fault. If visiting Morocco again, will definitely book Riad Faraj.
- silvana (10/5): Wonderful Riad in Marrakech - Riad Faraj is beautifully decorated and kept immaculate at all times. The staff, reception, cleaning and cooking were all very professional and friendly. I found them to be very accommodating.
The Riad is in the medina, close to all the action and a great experience.
The only thing to be aware of (and not a criticism) is that the Riad is in one of the back alleys of the Medina. But don't let this stop you because once you enter the big wooden door, it is a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very quiet and close to the action in old Marrakech.
- Shamsad (10/5): - The staff here were wonderful in providing services and information. We were close to the square and could walk everywhere. The breakfast was yummy too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is a wonderful typical Moroccan hotel with great staff. Not a lot of amenities and don’t expect a super comfortable bed but it is a really cozy place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location and very friendly staff. Our room and bed were quite small but good value. I would stay here again and upgrade to a larger room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location very close to the main square and Médina but far enough away for a nice peaceful stay. Definitely recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved this authentic but luxury riad! It is just a few minutes walk from the medina and the staff treated you like family, they couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you especially to Shouaib and Abdullah! Our superior room was beautiful and overlooking the courtyard and the simple breakfast every morning was tasty and fresh. A few little things to note; WiFi can be sketchy, the lovely pool unfortunately is always shaded, and the riad is down a narrow dark road which can be daunting at night (especially when some taxi drivers refuse to drive down). Overall a fantastic stay and I would most definitely recommend it and stay again!
- Jennifer (10/5): Great stay - Riad Faraj was amazing. The suite was large and comfortable. The whole place was beautiful and the location couldn't have been better. The service was exceptional, the breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This Riad is in an excellent location. The Staff is wonderful. The courtyard is beautiful and rooms are very nice and clean
- Julie (10/5): Oasis of calm - An oasis of calm away from the madness of Marrakesh. It’s one of those places which you access from a solid wooden door, which you walk passed and wonder what’s behind.
Staff so friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent staff and service, not far from the Jemma Al Fina
- Dustin (10/5): - Really nice place with a lovely pool and rooms! Location very close to Jamaa El Fna (the busy market) but not loud at all
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Riad is pleasant enough. There is no vibe inside and can be quite boring if you want atmosphere. The common space is small so you will never have alone time if that’s what you are after, workers constantly walking past the pool/common space or other hotel visitors. Because of this I wouldn’t feel comfortable sitting there in my bikinis. The real heroes of this Riad are the ladies that clean and cook. They were incredible. The food in the Riad is overpriced though at 18 euro for dinner. Water is not provided daily and you can not drink tap water in Marrakech, so constantly purchasing water to drink and stay hydrated. In terms of noise bring earplugs, my room was overlooking the street and I could hear men talking and motorbikes speeding past all night. As well as the prayers in the mosque on the megaphone won’t allow for any sleep but you will find this same issue at any Riad you stay at. This Riad is clean and the workers are kind enough. As a woman visiting Marrakech please don’t go out at night, I have travelled the world and I did not feel safe here to do so. Thanks
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Riad is in the Médina which for first time visitors can be daunting at first! I would recommend either a taxi from the airport (they are cheaper outside if you want to walk a bit) or arranging one from the Riad itself! We don’t speak French so communication was sometimes difficult with the night staff but the manager in the daytime was wonderful! It is located down what we would describe as an alleyway but a normal walkway in the Médina!! So it doesn’t look very attractive from the outside but once inside it’s absolutely amazing!! Beautiful courtyard water fountain!! The room small but more than adequate!! The rooftop terrace was wonderful and a great respite after a day of hussle and busel in the Médina!! The breakfast in the courtyard was delicious-the freshly squeezed orange juice incredible!! We stayed here 5 nights in total but it was broken up as we left for two days to go to the desert and one day to Essaouira (which is a must) it can be a day trip but an overnight is best-just buy your tickets ahead of time as the bus fills up quickly-you can also get a cab with 4 other people for a bit more(we did that going-while we were away they happily stored our luggage-no charge!! This Riad was wonderful and would definitely stay again! Our only complaint is there are three watch dogs tied up near the Riad they are friendly but sometimes bark at night which disturbed our sleep!!! We did not feel insecure at any time!! Wonderful staff!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Comfortable rooms with air conditioning. Nice pool and hamaan. Wifi needs to be quicker though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice little break in the sun - Riad Faraj is in prime location, which is it's best feature. It's a few minutes walk away from all the main local sites and must sees including Djem el fnaa. It's also off the main streets so is super peaceful.
The riad itself is quite modern for a Riad do of you're looking for authentic then this is not for you, but it is done very tastefully overall. Had a great outdoor seating area and rooftop terrace to relax and catch some.sun.
The room (choco) was beautifully decorated, clean and the bed very comfortable although the mattress could have been a liiiitttllleee bit softer. Nice that the toilet was separate in our room. I do feel that the toilet and bathroom needed a bit more.....especially the shower. I just felt that it lacked those nice little extra touches......
The team are very friendly and helpful there and were always on hand to offer advice. I do feel the hammam and excursion packages were expensive as well as some of the taxi services.
Overall a really relaxing stay at a lovely Riad. Would we stay again, yes for sure.
- zakera (10/5): ❤ this Riad! - Staying at this Riad was like staying with family! Loved the Riad and all of the staff. I had a great meal here for dinner the first night as well as my first Hammam experience. It was all really good. They also arranged a very reasonable tour to Ouzoud Falls at the last minute, you should definitely go! Can't wait to return to Morocco and stay here again. It's also very close to the square and they can make reasonable airport transfers.
- David (10/5): Will definitely return - Great stay in a great location just a short walk from the main square, despite proving to be an oasis of calm and tranquility, coupled with silence despite being so central. A lovely stay in the suite with attentive yet unfussy staff overall, however, the only feedback I would give, which applies to any Riad I’ve stayed in is to check on drink orders to avoid us having to look for someone to order with. I’ll definitely be returning and would recommend the food which was delicious and authentic.
- Lee (8/5): Recommend for staying - Everything good! Convenient to the Jamaa el Fna! Easy for restaurant and shopping!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed here for several nights during our trip to Marrakech. Great location, a quick walk to the square and other major attractions. The staff were very kind and accommodating. We had some issues with the hot water one day but otherwise the experience was great. Definitely recommend it!
- Malek (10/5): - We have a wonderful stay for our anniversary at Riad Faraj. The service was outstanding. The staff were very attentive and caring. This riad is beautiful environment, with lovely spaces, rooftop was a great space to enjoy sun. Amazing and authentic decor
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Once you find this Riad (taxi drivers are not helpful) this is a brilliant place. Quiet away from the noise of traffic. Friendly staff for whom nothing is a problem. Good food comfortable rooms lovely sun terrace and licence for a glass of wine on the roof terrace watching the sun go down.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff, great location and easy to find way back after a day out.
- Jana (10/5): - Riad Faraj was the nicest Riad we stayed in during our 2.5 week travels in Morocco, including 2 others in Marrakech. It was clean and stylish - a lovely place to escape too after a busy day of seeing the sites.
The best bit was its kind staff. My husband and I are animal lovers. Just a few hours before leaving Marrakech (for Canada) we met a tiny kitten very much in need on the street outside the Riad (it had a badly infected eye). We asked the staff to help us get the kitten some vet treatment, and left some $ to do so. We had to trust their goodwill to help. Their very kind and competent staff person Mouhcine agreed to help us out. He event sent us photos of the cat at the vets, and in his home, being cleaned. We are so grateful for his kindness and help, knowing there are a lot of animals in Marrakech in need.
- Holly (10/5): - Wonderful stay in the medina just off of the main square. No reason not to opt for this gorgeous riad as despite being close to the busy centre, it is very quiet at night. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all lovely, they offer to take care of flight transfers, booking tours, on site hammam as well as on site bar and evening meals are available. The evening meal was lovely, breakfast was also very good - thank you would definitely visit again.
- Ibraheem (10/5): - My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Riad Faraj. The rooms was nice size and comfortable and the Riad as a whole was very nice with a relaxing atmosphere. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating. The location was very close to the Medina and Souks. Khalid especially helped to make sure they we had everything we needed. They helped us navigate the Medina and streets of Marrakech. They even welcomed us with a traditional Moroccan dinner, which was amazingly good. We had a blast and would recommend to anyone visiting to stay here.
- J (2/5): Not Great - The Riad is close to the square but not very nice at all. The room we booked was not the one we got at all and was small and dingy. We arrived in the evening and there was only one member of staff who was pleasant but slow. The transfer was also late to pick us up. We stayed for 20 mins and then found a new Riad. Manager was more concerned that we paid for the transfer although he was getting the money for the room for 4 nights already. Would stay away from here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Riad location is close to all the action including a short walking distance to Jemaa el-Fnaa. Riad is pretty easy to find once you remember a few landmarks &surprisingly very quiet. I enjoyed daily sweet breakfast which was kindly served early due to previously planned excursions. I also had dinner a few days during my stay& enjoyed the different dishes served. Staff was very attentive, eager to help, and rooms tidy. I booked the city tour with lunch through the Riad but would skip it next time as it’s was only OK. Tour consisted of a stop at Majorelle Jardin,ElBadi Palace,Koutoubia mosque, drive around surrounding resorts, and a stop at a pharmacy&souvenir shop. The other excursions booked through the Riad (Ouzoud Falls and Essaouira) were great. My overall stay at Riad Faraj went well however I did experience a slight annoyance during checkout. Booking website stated the Riad accepts MasterCard &Visa yet the credit card machine was “down” due to the network. I had read a previous review with the same issue a few months before my stay so I figured the issue would have been resolved. I was asked to pay cash on a late Sunday afternoon when I had a bill over 400 Euros. I wish I were told earlier so I could have had the cash readily available and not have to experience double exchange fees as I had already made a trip to the exchange at the beginning of my trip and hadn’t planned to go again. Improving the city tour and having a working credit card machine would be wonderful.
- Bella (10/5): Lovely Riad - My mum and I had a lovely time at the Riad. The food was tasty, facilities were all working well - there was a small issue with the card machine working at the hotel, but apart from that it was all good. The Riad was super clean, and looked really cosy and welcoming. Staff was friendly and approachable always keen to help, especially Khalid who always went an extra mile to help us.
Also amazing location, close to the central area.
I would highly recommend this Riad to anyone considering a nice authentic moroccan experience!
- Heath (8/5): Aussie couple in Morocco. - Beautiful Riad. Location was close to the local but crazy markets. The service was friendly and always attentive.
Only downer was the bed and pillows were rock hard and unpleasant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a wonderful experience with Riad Faraj. The staff is kind and attentive and the accommodation are comfortable and stylish. I would recommend this Riad to anyone looking to stay in Marrakech (close to the major market and mosque). Special thanks to Khalid who was amazing and made us truly feel at home.
- Caroline (10/5): Excellent - Fantastic week in early July at Riad Faraj with my 15 year old daughter who also loved it. This was my second time in Marrakech. Last time I stayed in a Gueliz hotel which was quite far from everything. The Riad is exactly as it appears in the photos and is at the end of one of the prettiest streets in the Medina, definitely not a dark alleyway as one reviewer suggested. It is also probably one of the best located Riads.
Although so close the square, once inside the Riad it is very quiet although you can vaguely hear sounds from the square in the evening if you sit up on the lovely roof terrace. It's also close to the Koutoubia Mosque so you can hear the beautiful call to prayer from the terrace too.
The team working at the Riad are superb. Very friendly and professional. We felt very safe and comfortable at all times. Shouaib was exceptional. Shower gel, soap and shampoo are provided. The inclusive breakfast is coffee, juice, fruit salad, home cooked pancakes and local breads.
Went on two excursions, one we booked ourselves to Ouzoud falls. We swam there too. The other was the overnight trip to a Zagora desert camp which we booked through the Riad. Both are great but take at least 3 litres of water per person if you do the desert trip in the summer plus some long trousers for the 1 hour camel ride! It is about an 8 hour journey through the scenic and sometimes scary route through the Atlas mountains.
I would definitely stay here again and hope to be back soon!
- Joseph (10/5): - Khalid, and Shoaib were excellent hosts and made sure I felt welcomed, and attended to.
The property itself is quite simply, amazing! It looks exactly like the pictures and is kept very well. The main courtyard with the pool is incredible and the rooftop patio and suntanning area is superb. Definitely would go back again.
Thank you!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable & convenient - Close to everything in the Medina, quiet end of street which is a BIG deal once you experience the non stop polluting mopeds on the non-dead end streets. Nice place to stay and would
Stay again.
- Simon (8/5): - They are sweet
- Abbey (8/5): - A very pleasant stay in a superb Riad. Lovely local breakfast, great pool/rooftop and honest helpful staff.
Thank you all, especially Khalid.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended - Truly amazing. Beautiful clean and neat. The host personally came to greet us. The service is impeccable. They even specially cooked us a late breakfast after waking up late.
And the location is ideal. 2 blocks from the medina el fna.
- samantha (10/5): Great Riad with fantastic service! - wonderful Riad with dedicated team members available at all times morning or night! Breakfast included and great value stay with well appointed clean rooms and great service.
- Hamza (8/5): Riad close to heart of old city - Positives:
- The two managers Shuaib and Khalid are very down to Earth, friendly and easy to talk to.
- The location is just south of Jemaa El Fnaa (5 minute walk) which is great as it is close enough to the main sites but also accessible to the new city (30 minute walk).
- The rooms are decorated nicely and the cleaners do a good job and even fold your clothes for you.
Negatives:
- There are two large dogs on the street which bark loudly as you enter or leave.
Overall, it is a pleasant stay at this Riad. Little things like having a heated pool, or improving the breakfast, or having thicker/spare pillows in the rooms will make this Riad into a true 4*.
PLEASE take my advice on board as it is these little things which will make customers overwhelmingly happy to stay here!
- Angelica (10/5): Great service and position - I've been in the riad faraj last February for one week and I've loved the stay! The staff have been really nice, friendly and kind with us, planned perfectly excursions for me and my boyfriend with trusted agencies making everything super easy for us, no stress calling or booking, the drivers were always on time and super friendly. Every need we had during our stay has been perfectly satisfied, lots of advices too, it really felt like we were at friends house but a really fancy one! The hotel looks amazing, new and clean! Being a riad although it's really close to the busy djemaa square once you get into the hotel you leave the noise outside and you can just relax(the water pouring down from the waterfall into the pool and the birds singing outside really make this place great!) It's been super easy moving around, the location is perfect close to the main attractions of the city. I highly recommend it if you really want to enjoy your stay and dive into the culture able to perfectly relax in this well designed hotel after a long day walking around the city.
- Mark (8/5): Awesome Riad - Great location in Old Town - Road Faraj is exactly like the pictures. It’s a beautiful riad and felt very safe. The people were very friendly and helpful for anything that we wanted. Dinner, excursions, taxi, they gladly assisted.
The beds are not comfortable (very hard) which could be improved with some simple foam mattress toppers if they don’t want to buy new beds. The rooms have Air conditioning units but it still gets very stuffy in the room at night, I recommend cracking the window.
The location is down a random alley but if you’ve been to Marrakesh before or stayed in old town before, you’ll know that it’s pretty standard. Go in knowing that the streets are going to look like a dark sketchy alley but the people don’t really mess with tourists any more than a other cities.
- Jesse (10/5): The perfect Riad conveniently located to sites! - The staff at Riad Faraj are the best. From the moment I checked in I was told “We want you to feel like you’re at home. This is your home.” And it was all true. Such a wonderful experience.
- Jean and Peter (10/5): Four days exploring Marrakech. - The Riad was a quite oasis in the middle of the Medina, away all the bustle. All the staff were very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. All photos as shown on the website are a true depiction of the Riad and its surroundings. We ate our evening meal twice at the Riad, the table was set next to the pool and decorated with rose petals which was a very lovely touch, and the home cook food was excellent.
A lot of effort had been put into the ambience of the surroundings. We found the sun terrace very enjoyable at any time of day. On arrival we were greeted with Moroccan Mint Tea, a asked what we would like to do during our stay. All tours and airport transfers were arranged by the Riad, which made out stay very enjoyable and very informative. The Riad is made very secure by having a door that is only opened when the bell is rang.
- amanda (2/5): Not what we expected - We thought our room had Wifi and a bathtub. The employees could not speak English so the could not understand what we were asking we we wanted a room with a tub. It say wifi but the wifi didn’t work half the time. The hotel is in a bad area right down the road from a hang out. My can driver told us it was very dangerous when he picked us up. I felt unsafe ever time I left the hotel. Hotel was in a weird back ally. Cab drivers got lost everytime they tried to bring us there. Even got stranded in the unsafe part around 3 am. Breakfast was not good! I would recommend just spending the money to stay in a hotel in a safe area. Bed very very hard and uncomfortable. Extra charges when you leave. The hotel never books taxis.
- Jet (8/5): Lovely Riad very close to the square - Arrived there a little late at night, the staff member there by the name of Khalid was great although his english was very broken he still managed to answer our requests. The area is nice but can be very dodgy at night as was shown on our first night there (NOTHING IS FREE), the manager was great he also answered all our questions and helped a lot. the staff were very friendly and even let us have breakfast late as we arrived late, the riad is a bit hard to find at first just remember its next to the restaurant *Dar Nejjarine* also next to the hospital the riad faraj on google maps isn't correct. Breakfast was great and food around the square is nice, keep your pockets closed and only trust a friendly face. other than that it was a great experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Beautiful decoration and good location. It is a new riad with good potential but really needs to improve in some areas to be a proper 4 stars:
- Rooms: too basic, hard bed, heating didn't work every night (in the winter is cold!)
- Breakfast: tasty but definitely not 4 stars
- Services: avoid their "tours". The city tour is basically a driver taking you to just 4 places, 2 of them being walking distance from the hotel, with no explanation yet it is the price of a proper city tour. The hammam we had there was very confusing too.
- Pete (10/5): Excellent location - Tucked away in a back street as are most riads. A booked taxi to take you there from the airport is a must.
- Lourens (10/5): Right in Medina, beautiful, lovely staff - This hotel is a little bit hard to find but it is so worth it, the interior is beautifully presented and very clean. The staff were very friendly and always available for assistance. It's only a short walk to taxi stands and the main square. Also reasonably priced. Definitely would recommend to others
- Nicolas (10/5): Very nice Riad, well located with friendy staff - The Riad Faraj is extremely well located, just 5 minute walk from the Jema-el-Fna Square. The Riad is beautiful, and our room was a bit small but very comfortable and clean.
The staff is amazingly nice and friendly. The dinner they propose is very good, and the best Tajine we had during our stay in Marrakesh was actually the one they served at the Riad!
- simon (10/5): Riad Faraj-Midnight at the oasis - We had a wonderful stay thanks to our two managers chouatb and Abdove. We had a wonderful dinner of chicken tangine and great Moroccan wine. The dinner table ,sprinkled with rose petals was set in a candlelit courtyard opened to view the Moroccan night sky. This lovely modern boutique riad was steps away from the old soukhs and market place in Marrakech . A most safe and hospitable place to stay in this most exciting city.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location, breakfast, and.. - The location was great, however, the hotel was really hard to find since it does not appear in any maps and can be confused with Riad Al Faraj. The hotel itself had a beautiful decor. It was clean and the hosts were very welcoming and warm. The breakfast was delicious. The riad is literally, walking distance to Jemma el-Fna, Souk, and many more attractions. However, the room had no TV and the wifi was very spotty. The beds and pillows were really hard and the hot water only lasts about 10 minutes. The power would go out every so often. Not sure if I'd return.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Friendly staff but not a 4* - Great location, friendly staff but not a typical 4* the hotel was more like 3*
Staff very friendly and approachable. Basic facilities such as Fresh Towels, TV, fridge and Tea/coffee making facilities would have been great.
