We were going to stay in downtown Lancaster, thinking that it would give us a taste of Amish country. Fortunately we chose Frush Farm B&B instead as when we visited Lancaster the next day (in between nights at Frush Farm) we were shocked at how run down and full of addicts Lancaster was. Nancy went over all the need to know information. Upon finding out my handicrafts interest, she recommended a wonderful nearby quilt store. The Green Room and bathroom next door were beautiful and perfect for our needs. As this is an 1800s stone home, stairs are steep. We expected that and it's not a problem. I'm just pointing this out for others to keep in mind. Homecooked breakfast by Nancy, utilizing produce grown on their farm, was such a highlight!! My husband and I loved everything. • MaryBeth (10/5): - Frush Farm is a short drive yet a world away from Reading, PA. Located between Reading and Ephrata, not far from Amish Country in Lancaster, Frush Farm is situated at the intersection of a rural through road and a sleepy country lane, surrounded by gently rolling hills, fields, pastures, and gardens. It is a bucolic Shangri-La. My stay at the main house felt like staying with family. Nancy greeted me and went over the helpful binder of Frush Farm dos and don’ts, while Richard carried my suitcase upstairs. (Guests with mobility issues should note that the steps leading to the Green, Rose, and Garden rooms are bare wood and quite steep; as an alternative, the Farmview Suite is on the first floor of the carriage house, next to the parking area.) My room and bathroom were very well-maintained and spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the house. Nancy served a delicious breakfast each morning at 8:00 AM, cooked with fresh ingredients from the farm. If you happen to be the only guest any morning of your stay and are given the choice of eating in the kitchen with Nancy and Richard or in the dining room (where breakfast is usually served), choose the kitchen. Nancy and Richard are good company and you will be better off for knowing them.

The farm is very nice, and you're able to take a tour with them to see their animals. Reservation also comes with access to a nearby pool, which was a Godsend since the temperature was in the 90s when we were there. If I ever go back to the area, I would definitely book here again!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Fantastic place, but house is on a busy road - Hosts are very friendly and gave us a tour of their beautiful farm. Breakfast was great. The house is very nice and clean, everything you need. Just be careful when you book your room that you look at what is provided in each room. It is also important to know that green and rose room face the road which has constant traffic all night. If you were in the suite I think you'd be fine, but we found the road very noisy from our room and struggled to sleep. Other than the noise, everything else was perfect.

These "naturalists" souls are so organized and caring that everything on their property shows it. We, my daughter and I, were welcomed with open arms as soon as we got out of our car. After Nancy explained the rules and regulations of the farm, (they have goats, chickens, a donkey, and loveable barn cats), we settled in to a fantastic experience. Nancy cooks the tasty, delicious breakfasts, adding Richard's homemade goat cheese, too. We got to personally meet and hear Nancy tell the farm animals' stories. Snow fell through the night, and Richard was out shoveling the pathways come early morning. There is so much to be said about Nancy and Richard and their farm that you just have to book a time for yourselves and get the full experience. Nancy and Richard are such lovely and charming people.We enjoyed every minute of our visit. Their home is cozy and charming! Nancy is so knowledgeable and passionate about the farm and everything on it. She gave us a tour of the grounds and let us pet the goats. For dinner my husband and I drove to General Sutter’s Inn for dinner (approx. 1/2 hour drive). We love small towns so walking around Main Street afterwards was nothing less than perfect. However, due to COVID many of the shops closed early (even on a Saturday). I would recommend checking store times before going. Stores and sights are closed on Sundays. The morning of our departure Nancy made an amazing breakfast with eggs from her chickens and fruits/veggies/ spices from her garden. It was absolutely delicious! Nancy and Richard are welcoming and outgoing. They made us feel right at home, like a part of their family. Our stay was superb and my husband and I will certainly return to Frush Farms!

The breakfast included foods that were grown on the farm. I had never eaten okra before and I just loved the way Nancy prepared them. Everything in the house is spotless. We were required to take off our shoes which was fine as one does not want to track in the soil from the farm. We stayed in the Rose room. It was spacious enough for the both of us and the beds were very comfy. My daughter and I will definitely come back next year. It was truly a wonderful stay.
• JodyKP (10/5): Down home on the farm! - Vinemont, PA. Fritztown, PA. Reinholds, PA. Whoever heard of these tiny towns in the heart of PA Dutch country? I HAVE!!! Frush Farm Bed & Breakfast is a gem of a place in a gem of place. Nancy & Richard are the hosts with the most, welcoming us and opening up their property to a group of professional women visiting as a part of a "girls weekend." The accommodations (full apartment above the old barn) was impeccably clean and well furnished. One could cook meals, experience happy hours, and yet be fully "connected" with WIFI and TV. The daily breakfasts were farm-to-table, given Nancy's wealth of knowledge about gardening and healthy living. Richard's goat cheese and Nancy's home-made goat keffir were special treats during breakfast. A very special place in the rolling hills of Eastern PA. We'll definitely come back...soon!!!!!!!! Quiet B&B with accessibility to Philly, Baltimore, Gettysburg, Harrisburg, NYC, Washington, DC, Longwood Gardens
• MBondy (10/5): Running group gals getaway - fabulous stay - I organized a weekend getaway for my gals running group. We stayed in the guest house above the barn. An absolutely delightful choice for a few reasons--Nancy and Richard our hosts and the beautiful farm experience they've created. The room was perfect for us. Has a queen bed, a set of bunk beds, and a pullout couch. Spotless, spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend it for a group. Both breakfasts were fantastic. All organic farm to table ingredients. My favorite was the mushroom quiche, black raspberries with creme fresh, and delighted that Nancy serves dessert (pie with ice cream) as she exclaims is because "why not"? My only suggestion for their meals is to upgrade the coffee. A bit weak for the caliber of the food. She gave us excellent advice on where to spend our days--an organic Amish farm to visit...the town of Lititz (must go!). Take the time to let Nancy show you the farm. The farm itself is like a scene it a magical fairytale. Its beautifully thought out with plants, vegetables, a stubborn donkey named Sadie, colorful chickens and picturesque countryside. I hope they continue opening their home a b & b to not miss.
• 67nataliep (10/5): Amazing Family Experience! - Frush Farm was probably our most fun B&B experience ever. We travel with our 4yo daughter, so many B&Bs are usually closed to us. But Nancy & Richard made our stay super special not just for us but for our daughter as well. A few things to note for people who mind: there are only three rooms, one with a double bed (we stayed in this room and brought a small cot for our daughter,) one with two twin beds (these two rooms are in the main house and share a bathroom) and a lovely apartment in the carriage house. The farm is right next to the road, so there is some traffic noise. But everything else about the B&B and the owners more than make up for those things! Nancy has a beautiful garden that she cooks fresh, delicious breakfasts out of; there are goats, chickens, and other animals on the farm that Richard & Nancy gladly "introduced" us to; they have a lovely music room and shared some delightful music and singing with us; they have a toy cabinet that our daughter was able to go to while we were getting ready; their house and grounds were positively pristine; and the house itself is a beautiful renovated two-hundred-year-old stone farmhouse with hardwood floors that was a one-of-a-kind place to stay. Most of all, Nancy & Richard really made us feel at home. It was an incredible experience for all of us and I am so thankful for their hospitality and kindness!
