- Abbas (1/5): Worst place to stay - Notting This is worst Hotel I have ever stayed in my life with my family generally in vietnam all hotels ask their guests to pay for the stay at checkout as this is their normal way to business but this guy at reception 1st thing he did was to ask me to pay for the 2 nights that I have booked and also kept our passports with him.after I told him 1st I want to see the rooms so immediately he spoke to his staff in their language so they rushed to go the rooms little to know at that time because they wanted immediately to go and spray some air freshener so the rooms could smell good. I asked the guy do you have lift in hotel and he replied yes but he is not telling me that I have to climb stairs to go to 1st floor for the lift.
I initially book this place for 2 nights but I checkout out in one night and took refund of one night as the main issue was the drainage smell which covered the room after 2 to 3 hours of staying in the hotel we had 2 separate rooms booked and both the rooms had the same problem. We could not sleep well due to that and the photos posted by booking.com of the rooms are not correct as you would see a run down hotel in bad location and then you can see its a family run place where they don't think about cleaning the place or making sure the guest are comfortable and that is the reason the guy at reception will force you to pay 1st the hotel fee or they will not give your passports back.
I was in vietnam for 3 weeks and this place was the last hotel which I book for our trip and what a disappointment it was because all the other hotels (7) we stayed in vietnam we very hospitable and very kind and this place felt very bad.
I personally don't recommend any one to stay here and booking.com should remove them from their listing.
- Ohad (1/5): Bad - The room was clean and OK and the stuff was nice I ordered a room with a balcony and when we got to the hotel they told us all the rooms don't have a balcony. I contacted booking about it (they told to talk with the hotel about it). I tried to write to the hotel and he's been ghosting (ignoring) us since then
- Max (1/5): Cheap, but no sleep - Cheap and cheerful Very loud, could not sleep until 2am due to staff playing videos in lobby. Can be heard throughout property. The property was quite dirty and could be improved
- Beatrix (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (6/5): Quick overnight stay - We only stayed for a night as we were on our way to Cat Ba. Out of the normal tourist area.
- Youzu1982 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dario (7/5): Good -
- Hoai (10/5): very friendly/ good location/ very clean!! - very clean/ friendly and helpful in every way. good location!
- Quân (10/5): Exceptional - Room is spacious and clean
Not far from the center
- Kayla (7/5): Good -
- Giuseppe (8/5): Very good -
- Snezha (2/5): - Noone speaks English, receptionists make you feel not welcome, especially the night shift one doesn't even pick up his head from his phone, to say hello. Very rude. Room clean but very outdated, windows can not close, but tighten with shoe laces, split wallpapers, flushing light bulbs etc. We paid for breakfast extra, there was no kitchen in the hotel at all, had to insist a lot to get something, in the near by local "food room", the same soup everyday, very dirty. Disappointed, overall 😒... Ebookers, have you checked that property before advertising it, charging money for breakfast?
- Samved (8/5): Very good -
- Linh (8/5): Very good -
- Olivia (5/5): Passable -
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (7/5): Just an overnight. Clean & comfortable enough. - Clean. Everything working fine. Window looking out to the street. A bit expensive for small room.
- Regina (2/5): I will never come back again. - location Receptionist doesn’t have any boundaries. Firstly he wanted to leave two passports on reception (but I needed a passport to go to the hospital next morning, seems he doesn’t care a lot even after long explanation from my side why I need it that badly)
After he started to take pictures of our passports including all visas that we have (even when I tried to explain that it’s Chinese expired visa and it doesn’t belong to our wish stay here for a night) and personal documents that were in the the back «pocket». This person I guess never heard anything about “personal” information and about the fact that he has no right to do picture of something that doesn’t connect with check in information all hotels require. Completely disappointed with the service, I never faced with such weird behavior.
- Tanita (4/5): Got stuff stolen out of my room and nobody cared!! - The hotel is in good conditions even though you wouldn't expect this in a small sidestreet! Rooms are nice and clean. Staff seams nice and ok! Breakfast is ok!
Biggest minus:
They stole from my room! I have a cuddely toy that I'm travelling with since over a year and the housekeeper lady took it!!! They blamed it on me and after a 2 min check they did in my room(that I obviously did 2 times, before blaming the hotel) that's it for them! All I got is a I'll check and I have to talk to manager and in the end they lose there englisch! No englisch anymore!
Do not stay there with kids as the housekeeping needs new toys!
They didn't took a mobile phone or a camera!
Worst of all they didn't care!!!!
Never ever again!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Riverside - This hotel was very nice, a bit farther from the old town but its nice to be away from that business. There are local resturants and shops all around, we felt very safe in the area. Breakfast was great! and the staff were so helpful with anything we needed like taxis or tours. The rooms are all supposed to have wifi in them and unfortunately ours didnt work, there seemed to be an electrical problem, but the lobby wifi was all we really needed anyways. Air con worked great and the decor was modern and clean. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel!
- kerry (10/5): They'll help you make the most of Hanoi! - Pros:
-Staff provided good suggestions for places to visit
-Affordable and easy renting of a motorbike at front desk
-Clean, comfortable
-Affordable laundry
Cons (pretty minor):
-Had no option to pick between 2 single beds or double bed on Hotels.com website when it said the options are available
-Half of front-desk staff speak English (this may be typical in this country)
-Encountered some ants on my room's table
-Had to walk up a flight of stairs to reach the elevator
