- Nina (10/5): - Todo! Impecable la. Locacion y la ubicación! Nada

- Mauricio (9/5): A home away from home - Just a walk around and you are in town!! Best location for be a tourist
- Steven (10/5): - Fantastic apartment in a great location N/A
- Sheila (8/5): -
- Filipa (8/5): John is an amazing host! All was perfect and we had amazing days!! -
- Hayley (10/5): Excellent and well worth a stay at the apartment and visit to Edinburgh, would thoroughly recommend - Was a lovely apartment in a fab location.
The street the apartment was located had some excellent restaurants, a wine bar and a bar all within 100m of the apartment.
Definitely worth a stay. John the host was very helpful with information and tips for the trip.
A very comfortable, spacious, warm and appointed apartment in a fabulous location. Minor point, the keys to get in were not in the lockboxes, but John was swiftly on the case and sorted this out within a short time for us.
- Lesley SL (7/5): Excellent location, excellent facilities and well maintained. Shame about the noise at night. - Excellent location and well appointed apartment. The apartment is located in a city centre with single glazing. Unfortunately we were kept awake by deliveries, people celebrating and rubbish collection services throughout the night.

- Mit (10/5): - Nice flat with lots of space, in a great location as well!
- Kevin (8/5): Overall very good, some simple fixes could make it near perfect - Location
Flat as described Absence of tissue paper, shampoo, conditioner
Quite expensive
- Amelia (8/5): Excellent stay in the centre of New Town. - Bed was very comfortable and location was very good. flat had lots of amenities like kitchen and comfortable living room. The heating works very well to keep warm even with single glazing in the winter. Noise outside in the late night and early mornings due to single glazing.
- Carole (8/5): Good stay - Good location clean comfotable Better waste disposal system
- Fernando (10/5): -
- Grant (9/5): Great situation to wander Edinburgh from, walking distance to practically everything. - Great location
- Tom (8/5): Very pleasant and well-priced stay in the heart of Edinburgh - Nice and warm, comfortable and clean. Bin men seemingly arriving early every morning waking us up! (Obviously can’t be helped)
- emma (9/5): Enjoyable stay in a great apartment - Excellent location . Cosy and clean Noise outside in the street at night but it was a Friday and Saturday
- John (9/5): -
- laura (10/5): Loved staying here. Will stay again for sure. - Clean and modern Nothing
- Cheryl (8/5): Great apartment in perfect location - Great location, lovely eateries near by, can walk everywhere and walkable to train and bus station. Really clean, nice apartment . John fantastic to communicate with and so helpful with any queries. Would def use again Everything great except a little noisy in bedroom on the Saturday night due to the local pub, bottles emptied into bin below bedroom and loud chatting when people leaving pub early hours. Realise it’s the price for single glazing and location near to a pub but the other night stayed it was great as nice and quiet as on a small cute street. Wouldn’t stop me going again or recommending
- Lukas (10/5): -
- Louise (10/5): - We loved the flat clean, cozy and homely. Excellent location for our first time in Edinburgh. Would love to stay there again, just perfect. Would highly recommend to friends and family. Thank you both so much.
Danke, Heart of Edinburgh, wir kommen wieder! Bett könnte besser sein, ansonsten alles Ok!
- Linda (9/5): Excellent short stay in comfortable apartment - The location of the flat is excellent. There are pubs, cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. It is a short, easy walk from Waverley Station. The central heating was easy to control and the flat was lovely and warm on our arrival. The double bed and sofa bed were very comfortable, and the wifi worked well for the duration of our stay. Lots of informative leaflets for possible activities provided in the lounge. Communication regarding key collection was very clear and we gained access to the flat very easily. Recommended! n/a
- Beatrice (8/5): - Sehr schöne, saubere gut ausgestattete Wohnung. Sehr zentral.
- Terry (8/5): Defi
nitely the heart of Edinburgh! - Excellent location, very well equipped and clean. Quiet at night. Comfortable. Could do with a better TV and we couldn't get WiFi. Details we were given were out of date but you just look at the hub to get it right but it would not connect for either of us. Not major but inconvenient. Oh, and the local Tesco has gone now. Go to Waverley station for shopping!
- Emily (10/5): - John went out of his way to be helpful and answer any and all questions I had. The location is superb, flat is large, clean and comfy. Steps up to the flat. These weren't an issue for us, but might be for others.
- John (9/5): - This flat is a lovely place ideally located in the heart of Edinburgh, close to the centre. The accommodation is clean and simple and access is very straightforward.
We would recommend to anyone wanting to be close to the main tourist attractions and train station.
- Andrew (7/5): The place is spacious and well located but some issues with comfort made it feel not good value for the high price per n - Good location close to shops and pubs. Spacious flat with well equipped kitchen. Mattress was very uncomfortable for a 100kg person as I could feel every spring in it. Very small TV with no network connection. No toiletries supplied. All fairly small cost things but these things make a big difference.
- Noelle (9/5): Very clean and great location - Location and dvd movies to watch Floor creaky
internet slow
Main bedroom needs black out curtains
- Ernestas (9/5): Overall I highly recommend it! - The apartment was clean, nicely furnished, and located in super convenient area. Kitchen also was well equipped with everything we needed. The only minor downside was some noise from the dumpster collection in the mornings.
- Rosemary (5/5): We had to find alternative accommodation - Location very central. Johns messages of what to do and see are lovely. He answered a couple of questions before I arrived very helpfully, very good host. The mattress on the bed is so soft and lumpy we couldn’t sleep on it. The sofa bed is the opposite, very firm, but it’s a good size. The apartment is bijou, so walking round the bed it’s easy to keep catching your ankles on the box frame. There are small steps into the bathroom and the kitchen so not great for anyone who might trip.
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Jan (9/5): Great apartment in Edinburgh! - Fabulous location for exploring Edinburgh.
Close to all the main attractions, public transport and restaurants Well equipped apartment.
Host was great providing good communication and ideas for what to see and do.
- Karlyne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (2/5): Badly maintained & shocking noise from early bin collections at 5.30 am - Location No sleep ver noisy emptying bins outside bedroom. Uneven floor with steps to laminate flooring. Downstairs guy knocking on door 10am in morning disturbing us saying don’t use water as it’s leaking into his post office below. Heavy dust on fireplace & picture frames heating valves falling off radiator when trying to make heating work. Curtains letting in light & falling off pole as no finale. I’m not sure what part of Luxury you call this but no sleep for 3 days for £250 /night is awful
- Kornaś (10/5): Exceptional - I had a wonderful stay at this apartment! The location is perfect - right in the very centre, making it easy to explore all the main attractions on foot. The apartment itself was well-maintained, and offered a comfortable and welcoming space. Communication with the host was excellent - very responsive and helpful throughout the stay. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Edinburgh. It can be a bit noisy at night with some drunken people in the streets, but that's just part of the deal of staying in the vibrant city centre.
- Joanne (9/5): Superb - Central
Very clean
Modern
- Lizhu (9/5): A 9/10 experience—would definitely book again if visiting Edinburgh! - The flat is in a fantastic location, just a 10-minute walk from the train station and surrounded by great breakfast spots. It’s fully equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The host, John, was incredibly helpful and provided excellent sightseeing tips. The flat is located on a backstreet behind a pub, so you may occasionally hear staff disposing of glass bottles and people chatting outside around 2-3 am. This might be an issue for light sleepers, though it didn’t bother us. Other than that, the area is usually very quiet.
- Jakub (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (9/5): Very enjoyable and great location - Excellent location
Modern fitout Entry stairs were a bit dangerous
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luisa (8/5): Very good -
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great. Very central & easy walking everywhere. Kitchen supplies good & supermarket & shops close by.
- Xiaosu (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, detailed, caring place. Plus the best location, walkable to anywhere None, it was a pure joy
- Annika (5/5): Passable -
- Hazel (10/5): Fantastic apartment - would recommend - Amazing location, the apartment was clean, comfortable and everything you need is provided. John is a great host, friendly and quick to answer, he even sent travel tips for local places to visit. All was fantastic no negatives
- Neil (9/5): Superb - Good location, close to everything. Was a little unsure we were at the right location initially, however beyond that the directions for entry were good and clear.
- Gwenda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trudy (10/5): Comfort flat in a fabulous location. - Great location. Comfortable rooms with everything we needed. Host John provided lots of information to enhance our visit to beautiful Edinburgh. N/A
- Sebastian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashish (9/5): Superb -
- Dario (9/5): Great apartment with an exceptional location - Perfect location and very comfortable apartment - everything that we needed was there. The property manager kept constant communication during all our stay and assisted in a late check in. Garbage trucks pass in the morning around all the city to empty garbage. It affected us slightly in our morning sleep.
- Savage (8/5): Thistle Street April 2024 - We were delighted with the location and cleanliness of the flat, the ease with which we accessed the keys and the owner's communications welcoming us and helping with departure. The bedroom was cramped. It would be improved if the door opened outwards or possibly even relocated alongside the kitchen door. This would free up space in the bedroom and create a little lobby area in the bedroom for a useful coat rack. The lower communal hallway would benefit from having more light.
- Ledio (8/5): Very good - Great location. Very close to all main attractions the house didn't had enough supplies
- Heather (10/5): Beautiful flat in a beautiful location. - The location and flat were beautiful, and the host provided loads of info that would be useful to someone new to Edinburgh.
- Anna (9/5): Fun, interesting and a good chance to have family time - Clean, convenient and spacious
- Jean (10/5): Excellent 3 day stay - Modern and clean apartment. Well equipped with new appliances. Lovely white towels in bathroom. Lots of local info books and leaflets available. Close to all tourist attractions, bus stops and train station. Check-in was easy. Great communication with host. Entrance to property very shabby. Recommend a bigger tv screen. A flat screen tv would look good on the wall in the lounge where there is a mirror above the fireplace. Pillows need renewing. A bit lumpy. And a better quality double bed would be preferable.
- Sharon (7/5): Good - It was very central .It was very clean and comfortable. The Internet was terrible. Also, it was in a back lane where the rubbish was collected, so it a bit noisy early in the morning .But I would still recommend it.
- Nick (9/5): Superb -
- Mauricio (10/5): Great time in Edinburgh!! - Perfect location for walking around the city and the most important places in Edinburgh city center!! Nothing really
- Monica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Svitozar-ivan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arun (3/5): Horrible Experience - Interiors looked cool The host was highly unprofessional - he was not available for check-in or check-out and sent a lengthy and confusing message with directions for collecting the key. After the initial struggle, I entered the apartment only to discover there was no power. I tried calling the owner more than 15 times, sent numerous messages on his mobile number and booking.com application, but he did not respond. He eventually sent an electrician after an hour and a half to fix it, followed by a text message saying he was out of town and hoped I was enjoying my stay. it was very ridiculous and unprofessional, he should have sent a text earlier assuring guest safety. His unprofessional behavior ruined my mood and the entire day. It was a horrible experience in a new country and unknown town.
The host had earlier mentioned that early check-in was not possible due to other guests, and the cleaner needed to prepare the room. However, I was disappointed to find that the bed linen had not been changed or refreshed, the towels appeared used, and the floors were covered in hair. Also there was no soap, shampoo, shower gel, or anything we would expect in a hotel apartment.
Additionally, the room heater was malfunctioning, as the temperature stayed at 18 degrees Celsius regardless of the thermostat setting.
Despite not responding to messages, the host sent me a text the following day reminding me about my check-out time, which was on the third day. This was an unprofessional and greedy act.
Fellow travelers should be aware and avoid this apartment if they desire a peaceful and safe stay
- Yagmur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (10/5): Fabulous weekend thank you - Location, size & convenient. Nothing
- Roger (8/5): Very good - Location was excellent
- Andre (8/5): Fantastic place to stay except the noise - Fantastic location and facilities, really nice space, great kitchen The noise! Can't understand why more people haven't commented on this as it was so bad. Stayed 2 nights, both nights the yelling, yahooing, fighting until after 3am was so loud, like they were just outside an open window beside the bed. Then 6am the rubbish trucks started both Saturday and Sunday mornings emptying the bins just below the bedroom window. Really needs the bedroom windows double, or ideally, triple glazed and the place would be perfect.
Came home shattered.
- Rachel (9/5): Wonderfullly positioned flat for a weekend in this stunning city. - Fantastic location and beautiful flat. Really comfortable and nicely furnished. The heating seemed not to come on in theory morning but this was easily rectified by the controls.
A table in the sitting room which could double as a coffee table and dinner table would be a great addition.
- Adrian (9/5): Superb. My daughter already asking about next year with a view to catching the XMas markets! - Great flat in a central location. We had all that we needed for a 3 night stay and extra supplies could be brought from the convenience store less than 10 minutes away. Accomodation was nice and clean with very responsive heating during the cold nights. Just a technicality - loose toilet seat of no great consequence. Communal street door was also pretty loose on the lock.
- Mike (10/5): Excellent place to stay on holiday with a super host. - The location was perfect being in the heart of Edinburgh near the bus station for tours and walking distance to everything--Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Calton Hill, restaurants, shopping, Arthur's Seat, Whiskey Experience, etc. Airport is about 20 minutes away by taxi. The dumpsters are nearby and restaurants dump their trash after 10pm. Sometimes it can be loud.
- Alina (10/5): Amazing breathless beautifull City of Edinburgh - I highly recommend this warm, very clean, modernly furnished, with all utilities apartment, that comes with a fair price.
Perfect for 4 people. It is very close, 5 minutes to walk to Princess Street and Royal Mile or Rose Street where there are many affordable restaurants.
John is a kind host, gave us a lot of useful information.
We were deeply impressed by how empathetic, warm, patient the Scots are, of all ages, everywhere we went.
So go and live for a few days in this place, you will be delighted!
- Spencer (9/5): Superb -
- Giuseppe (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place in the centre of Edinburgh
- Linda (9/5): Excellent find! - Excellent location and everything you need for your time in Edinburgh. Great to have the extra space. Easy to follow instructions It was what we needed
- Bernadette (8/5): A little gem - The apartment was clean and comfortable and really close to everything
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Elina (9/5): Superb - The apartment was perfect and met our expectations. It is very well located and has all necessary commodities. The host was very kind and helpful, and answered all our questions. We arrived earlier and there was no possibility to leave our luggage in the apartment before the check-in time. Even if we understood the explanation given and this did not influence the rating given, this was the only drawback of our stay.
- Eleanor (9/5): Superb -
- Ina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Very pleasant. Would stay again if I didn’t need a car and would recommend. - Location. Cleanliness. Comfort. No need to clean at the end as cleaning incorporated in the price. Owner very nice and available to help when needed. Second bed a sofa pull-out bed that we needed to make up ourselves and put away in the morning. Great location if visiting city but if you have a hire car there is no easy place to park. In fairness we knew this when we booked and if we could have found something else as nice that had parking we would have chosen that. Owner did give us some indications of where to park but was a bit far away or too expensive (but then nearly all of Edinburgh city centre area has same problem re parking)
- Melissa (8/5): Very good - It was the best location
- Sally (9/5): Superb - The location
- David (7/5): Good -
- Zita (8/5): Very good -
- Sirkka-liisa (10/5): I would definetly go back - Location was great. Flat has everything you need. You can hear every noise from the street.
- Nereaamb (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): great location cosy flat - location n/a
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lummi (8/5): Very good - From the apartment you can easily reach all the tourist attractions, shops and restaurants. After entering the building, you are greeted by the stairwell, which is old and unkempt.
When I arrived at the apartment, it was extremely cold inside. We set a higher temperature, but the rooms heated up quite hard.
In the living room there was a smell of stale air, but in the bedroom it was better.
Very early in the morning, the garbage truck passes by on the street and makes quite a lot of noise. Also, noise can be heard from the apartment below, where renovations are probably taking place, because the sound of drills and hammers could also be heard since the morning.
