- Laila (10/5): Accessible, green, friendly, eco oasis in the midst of a big city. A+ for female solo travelers - A green paradise in a bustling city. No frills, just plain Swiss comfort and cleanliness. Loved the informal nature of a self-made breakfast. Good coffee, with local fruit. No savory though but all that was offered was delish. I was afraid of the "many steps" to carry the suitcase (as reviewed by others). However, there are helping hands and ways to get across and also accessible rooms. I could not have asked for anything better for a female solo traveler. I arrived after staff was gone but was able to enter very easily with live directions. Walking distance to the Coyoacán market, the Frida Kahlo museums and Leon Trotsky's, restaurants and across the bike share system Ecobici. Staff was A++ (and the suites are impressively sweet) L-o-v-e-d it! That I had to leave :)

Die Verbindung zum Besitzer hat gut funktioniert. Mein Einzelzimmer war gut ausgestattet, hatte aber leider kein Fenster. Dadurch war der Aufenthalt im Zimmer etwas getrübt.

- Stephen (10/5): - The Chalet is a pleasant guest house in Coyoacán, a quiet and attractive neighborhood within Mexico City. It is not as near to the center and Av. Reforma as other neighbohoods like Roma and Condesa, but this has advantages. There are many cafes, restaurants, and other amenities in short walking distance. My room was comfortable and simply but tastefully furnished. The small courtyard within the front gate is a pleasant place to have a coffee or wait for a ride. The staff and the manager are very helpful.

Lovely neighbourhood with some good restaurants, lovely local market. The staff were absolutely great and so very helpful and caring. They helped us with ordering a taxi for the airport, including arranging for a good price. The room was a bit small - and we were able to hear visitors in the small interior courtyard talking - but this was early evening and so a minor detail for us.

Aunque el hotel no incluye desayuno hay una zona bufet en la que te puedes hacer un buen café y comer algo ligero antes de salir y su buena ubicación en Coyoacán hace que sea muy fácil encontrar muchas actividades cerca.

It seems you can’t get a Uber from Mexico Airport so time was wasted and you pay a lot more with taxis. My main object in going to Mexico City was to visit the Frida Kahlo museum which I was lucky to do so as it was booked up 2 weeks ahead. 100% for Grace.

- Vinicio (10/5): Felt at home during our two week stay - Great location in Coyoacán (colonia del Carmen) on a quiet side street far enough from the touristy area, but close enough to walk there. Lots of great food around. We stayed for two weeks and were extremely comfortable the whole time (it felt like home). The bed was comfortable and the staff were lovely, regularly asking if we needed anything anytime we saw each other on our way out or on the way in. The kitchen came in handy. Would stay there again! No complaints

The shower was excellent and the bed very comfortable. The do-it-yourself breakfast of coffee, toast and fruit was a nice bonus and the staff are lovely. It was also a great location - 10-15 minutes from pretty much everything in Coyocan, which is a beautiful neighbourhood with excellent restaurants and markets. I will definitely return if I can. There wasn't anything I didn't like - although there are a lot of stairs people should be aware of, the staff helped me with my heavy bag.

- Sandra (10/5): Wonderful experience at Chalet del Carmen Coyocan - I was so happy with my stay at Chalet del Carmen. First of all, my plane arrived late so I was going to miss my entrance time for my visit to the Museum Frida Kahlo. Grace the receptionist called me on my phone and instructed me to come directly to the guesthouse, drop my bags, and she drove me to the museum just in time for my entrance time. I would not have been able to see the museum without her assistance. I was so happy and impressed with her assistance. After my museum visit, Grace gave me a couple of restaurant recommendations which were walkable from the guesthouse. Her English was impeccable. My room was huge, beautifully decorated and very clean with an excellent bed. My stay at Chalet del Carmen Coyoacan was exceptional and I would recommend to anyone to stay there!

We were on the bottom floor, the room felt a bit damp and the bed was very firm. That being said, we would definitely stay here again on a different floor.

- King (9/5): Welcoming home away from home, all needs met, on a quiet street, near Coyoacan historical center. - Beautiful building with welcoming courtyard, water available at all levels, and breakfast provided. The breakfast included hot coffee, tea bags, cookies, fresh fruit, and selection of bread, butter and sweet spreads: honey or jam. At the self-service breakfast location, there was an microwave, coffee cups, utensils and a sink. We could eat in the front courtyard, central courtyard or in our room. The rooms were welcoming and had glass bricks letting in more light. The beds were very comfortable and the temperature was adjustable with built-in heaters. Both rooms had water pitchers and cups and microwaves present. Additionally, the larger-room had a kitchen with appliances, pots and pans, utensils, and even cooking and some seasonings. Margarita accommodated our 4 AM arrival and a last minute extra night booking for that early arrival. She also booked us a driver for Teotihuacan that first day of arrival. She also notified us of the need to book Frida Kahlo museum tickets ASAP. We did not listen {:-/ Staff was pleasant and kept the place clean. One person helped us figure out the operation of the TV and heater and had them ready when we returned from our outings. We were confused about the shower wand operation. We also did not know to get a key to our dresser. We stored our items on top of the dresser. When staff entered for other reasons, they saw and gave us the keys.

- Venus (10/5): Short but sweet stay - The hosts/staff was super friendly. Everything was clean, functional, and comfortable. The area was safe to walk around at night as solo female traveller. I didn't realize that there is someone literally waiting for your arrival since it's a B&B so please don't be an idiot like me and show up a few hours later than you said you would. I was only there for one night and had an 8:30 a.m. morning flight out of MEX so unfortunately I had to leave before breakfast (available at 7 a.m.) so I didn't get to try it. Next time! :)

- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional - This is a beautiful, peaceful spot located in a wonderful location. The place has lots of "extra" touches that would make it comfortable for a longer stay. The owner and staff were lovely. I completely recommend and would stay here again! Seriously - I can't think of anything.

Si deseas conocer Coyoacán y sus alrededores este es lugar el lugar para hospedarte, todo esta a minutos de distancia caminando. Las personas que te atienden se aseguran que siempre encuentres comodidad y te sientas parte de la comunidad del Chalet.
- Pamela (10/5): - The Chalet is lovely and charming! Marguerite greeted us warmly and gave us valuable recommendations for dinner. Her staff quickly suggested a bus station nearby so we could return to Puebla upon our departure. Coffee and pastries were available for breakfast. The place was quiet and just 3 blocks from Frida's Blue House. We loved staying there and highly recommend Chalet del Carmen. We will certainly stay there the next time we are in Mexico City. - Maria (9/5): Great - The chalet overall was very nice. I would definitely recommend for lone travelers or couples. Location is superb, rooms are clean and have everything you need (safety box, kettle, tea and coffee, hairdryer, etc.). Also staff was super friendly and helpful. Recommend 100% Breakfast options are a bit limited, but okay. The rest is great.
