• Olaf (8/5): a very nice place to stay and discover Bagamoyo and the history of Tanzania - The rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is working hard to give you a pleasant stay. The food is well prepared and served with every day fresh sea food. n/a
• Archna (2/5): - The photos are misleading. This is a rundown property that doesn't even offer water in the rooms for their price. Rooms are basic. Swimming pool areas are dirty and neglected. Everything around the property seems to be neglected, with dirty mattresses lying in the resting areas.

• Philipp (8/5): Pleasant boutique style hotel - Good Hotel considering the area. Very friendly staff, and good breakfast. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the AC very silent. There was nothing bad considering money for value. Maybe they could increase the water pressure in the shower.
• Maya (9/5): - The food was incredible, it had nice sitting areas, it was decorated beautifully and I loved the building and location. I appreciated the little touches. The AC did not work well in our room and the fans also didn’t work well. It was very hot.

• christa (10/5): For me , the perfect stay - I liked everything, the garden, the vibes , the food,the idea behind ! being sustainable, avoiding plastic etc :-) Super House restored with good taste Bagamoyo is a really nice village that I had to leave 😪

• Davy (8/5): - Zeer aangenaam verblijf met behulpzaam personeel. Het is aan te raden de volledige achtertuin te verkennen, het is er heel gezellig en er is een weg die doorloopt naar het strand. Als er een minpuntje was, dan was het de WiFi verbinding in het West Wing gedeelte. Aan de overkant van de straat, waar men dient in te checken, ontbijten en dergelijke is er wel een goede WiFi verbinding.
• ahowler (2/5): Needs improvement in staff and customer focus - Bagomoyo - It's close to the town and has local bodaboda available. Locals were helpful. They harass you immediately on arrival to fill in a data form even though your details are on the booking. The pool leaves a lot to be desired and the plastic crocodile is green because it is dirty. They need to improve. The welcome is poor because they are not friendly, although they give you a drink The AC did not work which meant changing rooms but they could have given us this room in the first place. No kettle in rooms or beverages. No slippers. No TV. NO WIFI in rooms. It's like a place lost in the wilderness that someone has discovered and thought, we can make money out of this. Personally, I feel entitled to a full refund because watching movies in the room on my device is one of the joys of being on vacation. And I couldn't here. The breakfast menu is confusing and they give you what they want and not your choices or you pay for what you really want. They should create another menu which guests can pay for. The other menu comes with all the free limited choices. but by having them together and not being able to have items is odd because it claims breakfast was free with the room rate. They put items like sausages but you must pay for it, when it would be better to not include it in the first place. Lack of choice at breakfast: no fruits, no juices, unless you pay for them, but this modest room in the middle of nowhere is near $100 per night. We paid in advance, were around for hours before leaving but they waited until we were miles away to ring to tell us to call Booking.com and tell them to pay them the money, when it had already been paid before we even arrived the day before. I told them it wasn't my responsibility to chase money I already paid. But this sums up their general attitude to guests: Laziness.

• Rob (8/5): Prima plek om te overnachten en te verblijven voor een korte periode. - Fijne locatie in centrum Bagamoyo. 2 mooie zwembaden. Tuin mooi ingericht met privacy plekken. Eten lekker, goede vibe rond het zwembad. Ontvangst door nors personeel, later trok dat wel bij. Maar de eerste indruk blijft wel hangen. Geen handdoek wissel of bed opmaken. Geen safe in de kamer.
• Maik (7/5): - Ideal für die Erkundung der alten Ruinen. Eintritskaren, inklusive ausführlichem Stadtrundgang gibt es im alte Fort, immer nur die Hauptstraße vom Hotel lang. Badestrand in 15 Min Fussmarsch. Nette, urige Caffees und einheimische Restaurants fussläufig. Man kann durch den schmalen Hinterausgang zum Strand, der dort auf der gesammtan Länge voll mit einfachen Fischerboten ist. Strandspaziergang, sehr interessant. Der Stil der gesammten Anlage,viel altes Inventar, fast wie im Museum. Nettes freundliches Personal, die Küche, wird auch von auswärtigen Touristen geschätzt, Da fast alle Zimmer zur Durchgangsstraße liegen, sehr hellhörig. Nur einfachste Fenster. Habe mir nach der ersten Nacht ein Zimmer hinten raus zum Pool geben lassen, war proplemlos möglich und hab gut geschlafen. WLAN nur am Pool, Speisebereich ausreichend. Toiletten am Pool, Restaurant sehr abgenutzt, viele Sanitäramaturen sollten mal erneuert werden. Toilettenbürsten mag man gar nicht anfassen, die sind wohl seit der Eröffnung in Gebrauch. Reichlich Parkplätze vorhanden, doch keinerlei Hinweis zum Eingang, zur Rezeption. Anfahrt mit google Maps eine Katastrophe. Google schickt einen durch die engen Gassen falsch in Sackgassen. evtl Stadplan ausdrucken. Habe mir ein Moped Taxi genommen, welches mir vorraus gefahren ist. Anfahrtsskizze auf der Hotelseite wäre ilfreich.

• Katharina (9/5): Renovated rooms in historic building - comfortable rooms in historic building, hot shower, restaurant, helped with transport, welcome drink we had a room facing the street on street level, quite noisy at times
• Irene (9/5): Amazing vibe - We stayed at the new “west wing” which is right across the road from the original firefly. We felt we got the best of both worlds: clean, new rooms with airco (and we stayed at the back so no noise roads), a second pool but also the great atmosphere and facilities of firefly. We just loved the whole setting and vibe; i even bought one of the robes from the room :-). Breakfast was quite limited (no juice for the kids, no fruit)
