Guest Reviews
- Parashar (10/5): Beautiful property, amazing food, and helpful staff - The staff was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The property manager, Vishnu, was always available and ready to assist with anything we needed. The food was amazing, and the property itself is absolutely beautiful. Had a wonderful experience overall.
- Kumar (10/5): -
- Priyanka (7/5): - The location, staff, cultural initiatives, and the heritage Bathroom could be cleaner, and better maintained
- jean paul (9/5): -
- Somany (10/5): -
- Raturi (8/5): -
- Gaming YT (10/5): - This property has everything to offer — excellent service, friendly staff, beautiful natural surroundings, and a great location. I highly recommend staying here if you love nature and traditional culture Nothing
- Jignesh (5/5): -
- Gupta (6/5): Satisfactory. Not value for money - Fine Comode and wash basin not cleaned to standard of the money charged. Third bed rickety and noisy. Water leaking into walls and bath room taps
This is a fort constructed in 2009_2008 at the site 1000 yrs old where rubble and gravel was lying. The architecture has been conceived fresh. About 20 more rooms in modern design are being added. Of heritage only land and utilised rubble had form the part of property.
- Suchandra (10/5): - Nice and serene
- Amit (4/5): Pathetic room condition - The room was in pathetic condition. The entire furniture was broken and sofas were torn out. The electricity switch board was not safe.
The water was seeping from the walls and had to use towels to stop the water to come to floor.
Plumbing of bathroom was absolute bad. We had to call the staff 2-3 times to fix the sink and pot. On top of that, the bathtub was of no use as there was no way to retain the water in the tub. Overall pathetic experience in the hotel except good food and prompt service from the staff.
- Rohinin (8/5): Great place for a weekend staycation. - Quaint & quiet. The drive to the fort is picturesque and worth it if you're driving yourselves. It's an old fort, so understandable if the rooms or areas are a bit stuffy.
- Pooja (10/5): - The fort is so beautiful and the location is great for someone wanting to get away from the city. Located between the mountains this was an amazing getaway. The road to the property around 5-7 km needs a bit upkeep but rest was really good. The food was also nice(not too much variety) but whatever is served tasted well. They have room service as well. No issues faced regarding milk for baby so 10/10 for us.
- Rajeev (7/5): Good - Staff is very good 👍 Food is very low quality
- Parul (3/5): Poor - Like the views and location The rooms are not comfortable and not it's worth
- Mary (7/5): Beautiful character filled building and wonderful views. - I love the building it is magnificent, and the situation of the hotel is very beautiful. The rooms are large and very comfortable. They supported us in having a little room party for one of the ladies' birthdays and they provided a Birthday Cake at dinner, with her name on the cake, which was very thoughtful. The counter staff at check in were very unfriendly and I have never seen such an unorganised process of showing us our room, getting the key and getting the luggage to the right person. Really need a better system, however, after much kerfuffle an older gentleman who I think was the manager, got it sorted quickly. The buffet dinner was quite expensive and after 23 days in India probably the worse meal we had had, as was the breakfast, very disappointing. Many of us had upset tummies after the dinner, we usually avoid Buffet Type meals in India but unfortunately A La Carte was unavailable. I was considering returning again next year because of the beauty of the building and surroundings but things (especially foodwise) would have to improve considerably.
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, quiet, and lovingly restored. Full of friendly people.
- Daniel (7/5): Good - The hotel has a brilliant hillside setting, and the communal spaces are stunning, including the gardens and the restaurant terrace. The staff were helpful, especially the gentleman who gave us a guided tour to nearby temple. The evening traditional dancing was an unexpected bonus. The rooms themselves had charm but were in need of refurbishment. In particular, the bathroom was poor (shower didn't drain, toilet seat was broken and the sink taps were wobbly).
There was also ongoing building work which started early in the morning.
Although as advertised, we expected more facilties for the price paid (e.g. there was no wifi, fridge or safe).
Overall, the hotel felt a work in progress but could be something truly special.
- Ankita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (8/5): - The fort is beautiful and the room we stayed in comfy and well appointed. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Entertainment in the evening was enjoyable. There just seemed to be something missing that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. My husband thought it was missing a woman’s touch and he may be right. I’ve stayed in another fort palace, and the ‘wow’ was everywhere which didn’t happen here, but a nice stay none-the-less
- Indiatoday (8/5): Very good -
- Dr. (9/5): Experiencing Life in a fort of Rajasthan - It was a memorable and exceptionally good lifetime experience. We didn't like a little problem arising from the casual behaviour of a security guard at night. However, when the issue was brought to the attention of the staff in the reception office next morning, it was promptly resolved. Except for that little incidence, we liked the entire stay for which we thank the staff at the reception as well as in the restaurant.
- Hanna (6/5): Pleasant - Hotel itself was beautiful, traditional Indian style, with well maintained garden and greenery around. My room was located in an old part- very retro one, felt like living in 18th century haveli. However, I have a feeling that for this price the room should be much better maintained, especially the bathroom. I had this bad luck- that probably shortly before my check- in, my room was freshly painted, so for 2 nights my throat, bronchia and lungs were struggling with harsh smell of the fresh paint. Unfortunately, during my stay room wasn't cleaned, towels weren't changed. One more thing: ladies who are scared of mice shouldn't book this hotel 😆😆 as these creatures show up in the bathroom, I personally don't mind lol, but I know some ladies may feel uncomfortable. Such a pearl of architecture, sadly, wasn't well maintained, covering windows with old paper (!!!!) is something that shouldn't ever happen.
- Ravinder (8/5): - A charming old fort but not up to western standards - poor internet, no alcohol, unsafe electrics, difficulty paying with overseas credit card. Food is good, helpful staff. Everyone is trying but it’s get a long way to go. Reported payment issue to Expedia but got no response.
- Kanupriya (8/5): Beautiful location and Fort for a weekend getaway - The location and the fort itself are beautiful. It's a small fort, but we had a great time with all the activities available and the cultural program. The staff is well trained and courteous. It rained, and we could spot peacocks around. The location is green all around during Monsoons. The road leading to the fort was submerged in water, and it is not easy for a car with low clearance to pass smoothly during monsoons.
The food is just fine, not great, and since the location is remote, could not go out for any meals. Request to please improve food taste.
Also, I stayed in the bful Nandanvan room, but it needs more cleaning - both inside and outside. Please remove the mold infested old paintings from the room.
- Parnika (8/5): - It was a lovely stay! The staff was really good as was their hospitality. The property is in the middle of hills so it about a 30 mins drive off from the main road and that makes this place really quiet and quaint!
The property however needs a fair bit of maintenance in the rooms, wish they do it quickly. The staff and service however compensate for this!
- Priyanka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikkandpal (8/5): Very good -
- Palash (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amit (7/5): okay for one time visit - the view from the property limited food menu
- Sarita (8/5): - Satisfactory good stay.
- Nupur (3/5): Poor - Nothing Service and facility
- Chiranjeeta (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rajiv (8/5): Very good -
- Shreya (2/5): Not worth the travel. - The location Hospitality…really poor
- Chaitanya (7/5): Good -
- Akshat (10/5): Overall a good stay with amazing staff - The staff was super helpful - us having our 7 month old daughter, we didn’t have to worry about anything. They got us the baby food whenever we needed it. There’s one person that I really want to applaud is Shyam who went above and beyond with his services - cheers to him! Washroom showers need cleaning. Plus there is a gap in doors which allows insects to creep in - the same could be repaired on priority. Kadambvan is the suite where we stayed.
- Mandeep (9/5): Superb - services, food, facility can be Lil better
- Monika (8/5): - Peaceful location and excellent staff.
- Kunal (7/5): Good -
- Hatendra (5/5): Passable -
- Balram (6/5): Good experience but possibllity of making it better - Location of property is beautiful .
Very scenic and worth enjoying Cleanliness of room and washroom is little compromised .
. In room some uninvited guest like frog 🐸 and lizard were there . Room size are small not as shown in site picture .
- Abhishek (1/5): Won’t recommend - The actual property is way different to what is shown on Instagram . Far less to offer and no value for money ! Packed up and checked out within a couple of hours ! Rooms smelled stale ! Was much smaller than online pics and beds uncomfortable!
- Shilpa (7/5): It can be improved with lot of changes. Like washrooms - Over all good Washrooms
- Manu (6/5): Pleasant - Location is very good There is no ala carte menu in the restaurant hence one is forced to go for buffet. Food quality at room service is not good.
Lastly the hotel facilities are passable.
- Shilpi (8/5): Excellent view ...nice place - Location is very good....breakfast was good..only problem in the room was bed was not comfortable at all....they could have changed the room but that didn't happened. I have written above....bed wasn't comfortable at all
- Cauvery (8/5): Very good - Simple rustic but no intro to the place I did get there late though. Beautiful views and grounds. A work in progress. Geiser did not work.
- Hitesh (3/5): WASN'T THE PROPERTY WE WANTED TO GO FOR OUR SPECIAL DAY. BAD SELECETION. - View from the terrace was amazing.
Breakfast was fine.
Staff was good. All the doors hinges , No wifi in the room, No TV , over priced food, No room servive (only 3/4 Sancks...
Drive way....
- Rishul (5/5): Passable -
- Chandan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mukul (8/5): Very good -
- Kaustubh (8/5): Very good -
- Patel (8/5): An excellent place to enjoy the old world charm of indian forts with family including children. - The location is excellent and old fort ambience is endearing. Restaurant location overlooking the hillside valley sets the perfect mood and appetite. room interior need to be improved. Specially arrangement for cloth hanger to be provided. Some of hanging decorative items have outlived their charming effect and need replacement.
- Gavish (3/5): it was a waste of travel time and weekend - nothing. it was a waste of travel time and weekend there was no performance or anything. we were not informed of it at the time of booking.
- Varun (7/5): Perfect place for a short family trip. Rustic, beautiful fort and well taken care by the staff. - The location of the property is amazing, the place has a wonderful vibe and the staff, food is excellent. The washrooms need some important repair and upgrades and there needs to be some major maintenance needed in the rooms.
- Sayantan (7/5): It was an excellent location, and staff were good. - Breakfast and dinner were good, but the spread was less. Also, only buffet options available. Room lighting could be improved, rooms looked dimly lit at night.
- Neha (1/5): Bad -
- Rajiv (7/5): GOOD FOR STAY. -
- Himanshu (8/5): Very good -
- Saxena (8/5): Very good -
- Anuj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moira (9/5): Relaxing, individual Hotel - Beautiful heritage hotel, rooms were very individual and quite quirky. Lovey views and nice areas to sit. Nice staff, very relaxing place. Could do with WiFi.
- Nisheeth (8/5): Very good - Amazing location Not old age friendly
- Aasif (7/5): Location is good. but not worthy - location Too expensive as per the facilities.
- Khatri (1/5): Bad - i would like have refund for the property. really bad experience i have video. i have already mailed you, a racoon was there in the kitchen.
- Prashant (10/5): It was excellent with few exceptions - The location and ambiance Breakfast options were limited and they werent properly cooked
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Staying here is like going back in history--but with many of the comforts of a fine hotel. - It is quite an amazing place, basically in the middle of nowhere. A wonderful getaway from the chaos of the cities of India. The Fort is very beautiful. The staff were just the best, and the food was quite good, as well. The first room was a Club room and it was very comfortable, but after seeing the suite, we opted to pay extra---the suite is worth the extra.
- Jyotsna (7/5): Good -
- Amritmhn (9/5): Superb -
- Naresh (8/5): Very good -
- Rajat (7/5): Good - Location. Lovely surroundings. The staff.

- Navajyoth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lohit (10/5): Joyful with a touch of Rajasthani culture - Excellent service and courteous staff...made check in to check out process as smooth as it can get...went with low expectations but returned with happy memories Breakfast could have been better
- Amrita (7/5): Good -
- Kartikey (1/5): Would not recommend to anyone - Nothing was good Not worth the money
Property not maintained
Staff not cooperative no hospitality
Rooms are in very pathetic state not clean
The property is nothing like shown in the pictures
- Tapan (8/5): bed & rooms should be better - thrilled
- CHANDRA (10/5): - Awesome experience. Hotel staffs were very courteous and ready to help.
- Nikhil (8/5): Very good - Property location and upkeep. Rooms are smaller than what you see in the photos
- Japanisadhu (10/5): Lord's Residence in a Fairlyland - After passing through the wasteland for about 30 minutes, I arrived in Dadikar village, surrounded by mountains. The castle rebuilt on the mountainside was truly a lord's residence in a fairyland. Although it was an antique structure, the toilet and bath in the room were well functioned. I was able to stay comfortably.
Except for the chirping of birds, it was very quiet. I took a walk here and there. The villagers and children were kind, and it was a place that heals from the mind. It was off season, so I could not enjoyed the variety of food.
- Monika (9/5): Awesome Experience - Food, stay, friendly staff. All in all a very nice experience
- Catherine (5/5): Passable - Beautiful location and property Very overpriced and overrated.
A 4 star hotel on the surface BUT not much like one: no wifi, mastercard not working ( my Indian visa only when I wanted to pay with my mastercard), ok buffet and last but not least: I was forcibly taken out of my bed at 6.30 on the Sunday morning because apparently my geyser was connected to the bedroom below and was switched off !!!!
I go to hundreds of very cheap hotels also where no one ever did that to me!
I complained to the manager who accepted MY request of not paying the 1000 rupie diner out of my big bill for 2 nights alone.
However the staff is nice and helpful but definitely not up to the standards of a 4 star.
I hardly ever write bad reviews but I hope this one will help them revise their priorities. A beautiful setting can't justify for such a price only.
- Adesh (10/5): Exceptional - The location is very serene food was fantastic. Cultural program in the evening was exceptional. We had lots of fun. Everything was awesome
- Shuchi (10/5): Exceptional - The food was amazing. The staff was very friendly and polite.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Vinit (8/5): Very good -
- Varuneshwar (7/5): Good place for a day visit, not worth a stay. - - The staff, Very warm and Attentive.
- The Lawns & Decor : Very Insta Ready - In room facilities could’ve been better for the price being charged.
- Washroom needed more cleaning
- The rustic look inside meant unkept floors & carpet.
- Danish (5/5): Passable - windows didn’t close properly leading to very cold air flowing in room in winters
- Sahdev (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (8/5): Very good - Lovely breakfast, great service and beautiful location. I was exhausted on arrival and crashed too early to go to dinner. Clearly a romantic location, but still fun on my own
- Dasgupta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharma (7/5): it’s was great to be there. must visit - well maintained outer looks of the property. view from the hotel is exceptionally good, location is also very adventurous. Mr. Shekhawat :manager at the reception was so nice and humble. Good hospitality. Food was exceptionally delicious and well served water system in wash rooms needs maintenance
- Shruti (5/5): Lovely property but not value for money. - I liked the location. The facility is lovely. And it's a beautiful property. The room was very dusty even though I had informed the property manager twice before reaching the hotel and specifically asked them to prepare the room.
Also, they will not provide you with any food menu and there is no in-room dining facility.
On a compulsory basis, you have to have buffet that they will bill you on 2500/per person per time basis.
Also, the staff is bit rude.
- Ravee (1/5): Bad -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - the garden and rustic royal style of architecture. staff was cordial
- Kiran (7/5): Good -
