Guest Reviews
- Elmarie (10/5): - This was accommodation during a Congress at a nearby Hotel group and was well received, enjoyed the full experience of breakfast and dinners
- Maria (10/5): Nice retreat near Drakenberg Park - A good family option for staying in central Drakenberg near the park hike to Sphinx. The hotel has cabins; ours was a round traditional with thatched conic roof. Good food and a few option and views from the complex. A bit outdated but with a traditional old hotel aura.
- Michael (8/5): Weekend Getaway - Our room above the conference venue was amazing however the lighting outside, leading to our room at night was lacking. Meals were average , but generous. All in all a good relaxing weekend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Prachtige locatie, wel wat verouderd.
WiFi werkt slecht. Heel attente medewerkers
- naeem (10/5): Stunning mountain escape - The Nest has an olde world charm that impresses both the young and Old. The best part is the central location of this resort that is close to all the attractions in the Berg.i stayed in the super luxurious executive room which had the most stunning Mountain View’s.The food was also excellent and is included in the price.
- Peter (8/5): Great stafand charmf - As they advertise, The Nest is reminiscent of the old style hotels, with Table d' Houte meals and white linen. There is an olde world charm. The rooms are comfortable but do not have air conditioning which makes them hot in mid summer.
The best feature of the hotel is the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff and a family type atmosphere which is very relaxing.
- Stuart (10/5): - The whole place is beautiful, the view of the mountains from the veranda is amazing. The food was stunning and staff were excellent.
- k (8/5): - room is small , have a big bed and 2 small single bed upstairs . close to champagne castle .
well , its simple like a guest house , but charge at a price like a 4 star hotel
- Deborah (10/5): Wonderful place! - We arrived at the Nest and were completely blown away. Our room had its own patio looking at the Drakensberg Mountains. Sliding glass doors gave us that view all day. The room was spacious and modern with 2 sinks and a soaking tub. We could have used some bath salts! Meals were included in the price of the room and were served in the elegant formal dining room. The food was delicious. We missed the Sunday roast at lunch but got some leftovers as appetizers that night. Lovely grounds, very kid friendly and in a beautiful area called the Champagne Valley. We were so happy we stayed an extra night.
- Estelle (8/5): Weekend break - The reception staff were accommodating in letting me change rooms to be closer to the lodge as I was travelling solo. This is an all inclusive resort (excl drinks) but note that if you arrive early (before 1pm) they invite you to have lunch while you wait. This is good if you haven't had any lunch yet but that also means that you won't be able to have lunch on your check out day. As my check out day was a Sunday I would have preferred to not have lunch on check in day and rather on the Sunday (a carvery). This was only communicated to me after I'd had lunch and checked in. The dining room staff were very attentive and accommodating. My waitron Gugu was great! My room (9) was well appointed and modern but no separate bathroom - all in the 1 space. The balcony had lovely views of the 'Berg. This hotel is central to all activities in the berg. I enjoyed my 1 night stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great food and service. - Rooms a little tatty but service, location and food were amazing.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Can do better... - The room wasn’t checked before we got there. Fireplace was not working, one of the heated blankets were not working. The dstv remote was for another room, the aircon remote needed batteries. It took 4-5hrs before someone assisted to get everything working, so we had to sit in a cold room until they got there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, friendly staff, well, organised, efficient check-in.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The scenic vieuw and the food was verry good. Nice room .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was great. Location central to all area highlights.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Prettige sfeer
Uitzichten over de Drakensbergen
In de omgeving was veel te doen
Ontbijt, lunch en avondeten goed verzorgd
Kamer ruim en had uitzicht over de Drakensbergen
Boardingpassen werden goed verzorgd
Een aanrader
- Isabel (8/5): Nette Lodge - Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber ein schöner Ort und Ausgangspunkt in die drakensberge. Gutes Essen.
- Donald (8/5): Three nights in the Drakensbergs - Our room was a good size and clean with a comfortable bed, however the style and decor was a bit dated, the outlook did not provide any view to speak off and WiFi was only available in the hotel lounge. The highlight of staying here was the meals which were very good and with excellent service and friendly staff. The location of the Nest is ideal for visiting the area and it's site.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Weekend Stay - Excellent food and friendly staff. The games room needs to be upgraded. We had two cold showers as the geyser did not heat up.
- Judith (10/5): The nest hotel is the best hotel - It was very relaxing and well managec
