Guest Reviews
- Sharon (7/5): Enjoyable stay at Court Coleman - Beautiful venue, staff were really lovely, room was clean & breakfast was really nice. Nowhere to hang your towel when in the shower, you can get them off the towel rail but that means you have to get out of the shower & down 2 steps.
- Glyn (7/5): -
- jayne (10/5): - Lovely venue
- Leon (6/5): Clean room, friendly staff - Location was picturesque A little dated
- Vanessa (10/5): Enjoyed it , book again - Location was in lanes , but good place to stay Wasn’t much I did not like . Location is near to my daughter . Fabulous decor , staff . One night only was good . No faults . Taxi was there on time . Brilliant destination .
- Brown (10/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): Great stay - Great stay. Beautiful location, great restaurant and friendly staff
- Thomas (10/5): - Bath
- Abbott (10/5): -
- Michael (7/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): Great night with good friends at a marvellous location - Room was good, restaurant was bloody amazing. Good friendly staff. Will be back
- Daniele (9/5): PLEASANTLY BEAUTIFUL - Beautiful Hotel with plenty of History and pleasant staff, great breakfast NA
- harvey (5/5): - Excellent location stunning building Hotel is tired showr overflowed all over bathroom and bedroom.
- Robert (6/5): - The rooms varied but out of 4 rooms the lack of bathroom facilities was frustrating. One tiny bar of soap. No body wash or shampoo. Unusual these days and frustrating when assumed in this day and age not to be available even in a dispenser.
- Dale (10/5): -
- Oliver (7/5): Court colman - The staff are all very helpful and friendly and the Indian restuarant in the hotel is lovely The japanese room was lovely decorated but the bed is to low and the shower is not strong enough
- Paul (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Comfortable, peaceful, fantastic staff and great food. - Everything. Fantastic staff who are excellent especially one person 😊
- Emily (10/5): Large room, lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Thank you! - I was able to check in earlier than the 4pm advertised time. The room and en-suite were much larger than most hotels I’ve stayed at and breakfast options were vast. The window shutter in my room rattled at night so I had to wedge some clothing in it so I could sleep.
- Paul (9/5): Back in time - The feel of the place. So different to your regular overnight stay.
Evoking the past splendour of the building. The view from my window. Could do with a clear up.
- Robert (5/5): Satisfactory facilities but overall underwhelming - Very pleasant hotel with lovely staff. The rooms were varied with some definitely considerably better than others There were no toiletries of any description bar a very small inch wide soap. Unusual in this day and age to have nothing at all so badly caught out in not taking our own. Some room’s dilapidated
- Nigel (4/5): Disappointed - Its history Tired, run down, food poor
- Penny (8/5): Very pleasant stay - Lovely large rooms, fabulous grounds for walking the dog. Not enough waist height tables to eat breakfast at ( tables too low ) and the bath was so slippy, we had to put a hand towel in the bottom of the bath.
- Rene (9/5): Perfect voor mijn zakenreis. Rust na een drukke werkdag. - Heerlijk rustig en volop Britse charme.
Persoonlijke benadering, zowel bij de receptie als bij het ontbijt. Stabiele WiFi. Kozijnen kunnen wel een lik verf gebruiken.
Behang laat hier en daar los.
- Cameron (10/5): -
- David (7/5): We enjoyed a quiet overnight stay here. - Overall - we had a comfortable and quiet stay here. There was damp in the walls on one side of the room, with some wallpaper peeling off.
- Daniel (7/5): -
- Maria (2/5): - Location Jets didn't work in spa ...mouldy paper in bedroom..... no smarty TV.... rip off annoyed about the bathspa....no shampoos just a spa of soap.....milk done of
- Sally (6/5): - Grounds, breakfast. Stayed in other beautiful rooms before. Staff friendly. Too hot. Uncomfortable bed. Toilet didn't flush properly. Big enough plugs.
- Neil (8/5): An ideal alternative to the sanitised standard fare of the brand hotel. - The hotel is as you would expect for an old converted Manor House. It’s a bit frayed at the edges and the rooms are a bit quirky depending on which floor but there’s a warm welcome, nice grounds and good breakfast. Lots of stairs to carry a bag up.
- Rhodri (8/5): -
- Alison (10/5): - The location and building are beautiful. The staff are lovely and what more can I ask for? Nothing
- Carrie (10/5): - Loved the beauty of the place inside and out. The staff were super nice and welcoming and the food was great. No complaints
- Mark (8/5): -
- Martyn (8/5): -
- barbara (8/5): A very pleasant short break in an attractive rural location. Friendly staff and excellent food and service. Good value f - I asked for a room change and was moved to a delightful, comfortable large room overlooking the grounds. The original room was small, cold, smelled of damp and had black mould in the corridor outside.
Food was excellent and staff extremely friendly and helpful The original room I was allocated- see above
Although in need of updating and maintenance in some areas overall the property has much charm & character
- Anita (10/5): Perfect stay - Had my Dad's 80th birthday celebration. Really beautiful hotel.rooms were fabulous and the party was great. The food was really delicious, authentic Indian buffet, so much and so tasty with a great choice. The staff were amazing. Big thankyou to Darren for organising it and also Hannah and Lee for a fab job on the day.
Couldn't have asked for any more. It was just perfect.
Also Breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and fresh cooked. All was fab
- George (9/5): -
- Ashwin (8/5): Lovely location for weekend getaway and dog friendly. - Very accommodating with pets. Our dog was very welcome and the room was very suitable to have a dog along. Breakfast was hot and good selection. on-site restaurant was really good and very delicious food. The lounge area is very cosy and allows dogs. Beautiful location and really nice views from the room. Ample parking space. The night staff at the reception was a bit grumpy and lacked smile and enthusiasm. We were expecting they had some crayons or activity stuff to keep children entertained but didn't have anything like that however they did provide a blank sheet of paper and a sharpie when asked for. Some maintenance issues such as warped bathroom door and paint peeling, which didn't really affect our stay but could be kept up.
- Molly (10/5): -
- Paulo (8/5): -
- Keegan (5/5): - Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms. This is our second stay here. First time we visited was amazing very relaxing and felt at home. However our second stay with you was spoilt by other guests in another room who were loud and argued most of the night. I understand that this is not your fault. We didn't complain as we was just waiting for them to stop. But this went on till 6am. But other than that the stay was lovely thank you.
- beth (10/5): - Location was lovely, the room was huge and so clean. Very comfy beds. Lovely clean facilities. Very friendly staff Nothing
- Rachael (10/5): Well done - Excellent facilities N/a
- Kirsty (9/5): -
- Mathew (7/5): -
- Victoria (10/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): -
- David (1/5): - Untidy, very tired and my room was nothing like the photos on here. I stayed for 10 minutes and left, however they only refunded 1 nights accommodation and not 2. Disgraceful customer service.
- Kath (10/5): A beautiful place to hold the 40th birthday party we we attending. - Everything!! It’s in a lovely setting and a stunning building. Our bedroom was very comfortable and warm and well decorated. Nothing!!
- John (7/5): Peace and Quiet - The cooked breakfast was just standard. With no choice on how much you wanted or what was put on the plate. This is a shame for such a high cost room. Room very nice but tired. Carpets very marked. Need replacing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room tired in need of upgrade.
- Kath (8/5): Lovely - The room was lovely and spacious and nice and warm Whilst walking to the restaurant I noticed how dirty the skirting boards were
- Margaret Ann (8/5): Thank you for your lovely welcome during our stay. - The breakfast was excellent and staff extremely helpful during our stay. The reception rooms downstairs were well presented. The bedroom was clean and bright. For the price we thought our stay was good.Thank you
- Colin (1/5): Appalling -
- Allan (8/5): Food was really good -
- Rory (9/5): Very relaxing would recommend breakfast was lovely - Lovely setting staff were amazing The only thing I can say is there was no kettle in the room had to ask for a replacement
- Joyce (9/5): A fabulous stay! - The staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great! It was superb all round!
- Sydney (8/5): - The lobby and grounds were stunning, and in a very peaceful area. The staff were really friendly and the nepal restaurant was delicious. I had a few drinks at the bar and read and was quite comfortable. The rooms and halls could stand a fresh coat of paint and some renovation. While not dirty, it did feel old and the floors were quite squeaky.
- Hilary (8/5): Comfortable accommodation, friendly staff, lovely breakfast, good value. - Lovely Full Welsh Breakfast (good quality tea and preserves). Bathroom was good but lacked a stool or anywhere to put things even though it was spacious. The room was quiet. Decor utterly bizarre! But this is a minor quibble.
- Maurizio (8/5): -
- Chantelle (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Staff very polite and helpful - Breakfast was excellent and good variety
- Jasmine (7/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): - Lovely room and lovely breakfast. Lovely views also
- Rosemary (10/5): -
- Michael (6/5): Excellent facilities in a spacious hotel set in wonderful surroundings. - Good cooked breakfast. We were upgraded to a specious room away from the wedding party. The hotel is a large and impressive Victorian pile set in wonderful countryside. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the lady in reception. On-site restaurant was a bonus. Hotel is a bit tired, needing some serious money investing in upgrading the rooms. No fruit at breakfast.
- Geoff (5/5): Average - Very little Bed and shower
- Mark (10/5): - And my wife had an amazing time
- michael (7/5): Ok - Location , breakfast No hot water in a morning
- Roy (7/5): Not the most relaxing stay this time. - We have stayed several times before so returned. Great Restaurant. Friendly staff and good breakfast. It's not the hotels fault, but I had to call reception due to excessive noise past midnight from residents above our bedroom! You could hear every footstep. The rooms on the 2nd floor should be carpeted. Also damp in the bathroom and radiator not working and also the bathroom cabinet light was not working and extremely loose tap.
- Chris (10/5): -
- kirsty (9/5): -
- Robert (8/5): -
- El (9/5): -
- Benjamin (8/5): Grand building, beautiful reception and good food in the restaurant. - The restaurant and the entrance/reception area. Also good full English breakfast. The grounds needed some tlc, and some of the decor in the rooms felt a bit cheap.
- sally (9/5): - Fabulous friendly staff excellent breakfast
- Steven (5/5): Mixed experience - Bed was comfy and the room was clean. There was no hot water or heating in the room due to an issue with the boiler
- Richard (9/5): Great country hotel, not top-end but good value for the cost - Room was perfectly adequate. Staff friendly. Main entrance area was grand and looked very beautiful. Parking was nice and easy. Bathroom a little tired but reasonable for the low price.
- Christine (10/5): Excellent service, staff were so helpful and bedrooms all clean and fresh. Will return definitely. Thank you - Never been before what a beautiful location and building. Was bright and welcoming with quaint areas to go with the age of the building.
- Ros (9/5): Impressive but cosy building and great breakfast - Lovely, historic building. Clean, comfy bedroom. Pretty room decor and impressive reception & grand staircase. Really good Welsh Breakfast. No lift and a lot of steep stairs to 2nd floor rooms.
- Kath Fraser (9/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): Beautiful stay - Absolutely loved out stay here, room was beautiful and very clean, staff were lovely definitely be back Nothing
- Long (9/5): -
- Darren (9/5): South Wales visit - The Indian restaurant Always feels like it needs a clean
- christel (10/5): - Everything it is a lovely venue and restaurant
- Donald (10/5): -
- Jeff (9/5): Amazing - Food was amazing!!! A lot of stairs to get to our room
- Stephens (10/5): Absolutely spiffing !! - The property was fantastic we was well taken care of we couldn’t have asked for more on our wedding weekend. What a delightful experience from start to finish 😇
- Mark (7/5): Lovely place, but not a great sleep - Receptionist was friendly and helpful My room was 1st floor of landing and you can hear everything people coming back late, not good for sleeping, was woken a few times in the night
- Jeremy (8/5): An old yet grand hotel with very good facilities and excellent staff - Breakfast was really good with excellent friendly service. The building was very impressive especially the grand entrance hall. Room was a little tired and the shower temperature was difficult to control. The sash windows rattled. But, the value for money compared to the major chains was really good. Staff lovely and friendly. I would recommend.
- sally (9/5): -
- David (4/5): Convenient but some investment in this hotel (several million) could make this a lovely hotel. I think the rooms are dat - Convenient location. The bedroom was grubby & dusty. The TV remote looked like a health hazard. The pillows were thin, stained & very old.
A noisy fan woke me at 0300 and kept me awake for over an hour.
- Laura (10/5): Excellent accommodation, lovely friendly staff and a great breakfast! - Unique interior, amazing setting, historic features, lovely decorations Nothing
- Greening (10/5): Peaceful, cosy, romantic and beautiful grounds. - Original features throughout, very clean and welcoming. Nothing, it was perfect.
