• Ron (1/5): Trucks all night , poor sleep , view is of a Burger King . Sauna was a huge disappointment - The breakfast was ok. We booked because the hotel has a sauna. The actual sauna looked like it was built by a blind carpenter who never sat in or had a conceptual drawing of an actual sauna. Unusable , ridiculous . Getting thousands of reviews on FB sauna page for worst sauna ever built
• Linda (10/5): A very welcoming hotel in Fort McMurray - The property was fairly new and the rooms were a good size and well appointed. The staff at the front desk were all lively and accommodating.
• Christl (7/5): I won’t be back. - Service was fine. Breakfast was fine, better than average but not spectacular. Room was extremely small. Amenities were lax. Ie: coffee, microwave, desk space for work. Bathroom shower was too open, and without an enclosure or curtain, it was cold and as a tall person I could not shower without getting water all over the floor.

Microtel was a great place to stay! The staff were very friendly. It was a very quick check in as they were ready for us when we arrived. There were gift bags for the girls, which they were excited about after a long trip. We enjoyed the hospitality room to order pizza, watch the Blue Jays World Series game and visit! Breakfast was hot and there were a lot of options. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Check out was quick and easy. Thank you for providing a great experience. Will be back.

My only issue was that the sheet that layers the blanked had some green/black stuff along the top where your face would be. Could be a stain or could be mould but was definitely off putting. Noticed it too late to get a change so just kicked the sheet down by my feet for the night.

• Henry (10/5): Wonderful place - My family and I loved the hotel so much because we were there for my daughter’s treaty days in Anzac, Alberta for the weekend last week , staff was friendly with us, check in was very quick, breakfast room was wonderful , hotel rooms were clean and beautiful . We loved the pictures in the sitting area of the front desk , We will be back for next years treaty days and will be booking back here again
• Betty (6/5): Hot Tub Closure - Always Disappointing - We have stayed at the Microtel 4-5 times and the hot tub hasn't ever been open. Every time we've had breakfast, there is only one person working so we can't get silver ware etc.

I would have appreciated a real plate, glass and cutlery. The location is a challenge, there is nothing in walking distance except a gas station.

• Craig (4/5): Getting tired of it - Tire d of third-party apps like Hotels.com and service providers like Microtel advertising one thing on their website and then taking no accountability when it’s not available. In assistance listing on Hotels.com indicated Hot Tub, which I booked for. Upon arrival they tell me it’s out order. I had six text sent to me during the week leading up to my visit. We’re not one mention was made of this. Hotels.com did for a little offered me a $50 gift card for the trouble. They don’t understand and they don’t care that is not the point. Too often, hotels, cars, retail, advertise one thing and want to take your money. There’s no turning back and they give you whatever they have, as a customer I am just getting tired of it. Hotel is also loud with neighbours above making noise until I had to call at midnight and people loud up and down the hallway till late to the night

Working desk leaves a lot to be desired and was not comfortable to work at. The desk was really not set up for work but otherwise room was quite comfortable.

• Erika (8/5): - The hotel is really nice, the area around it is not, right beside a Burger King and a Shell, and lots of semis park in front of the hotel and run their engines all night. The back of the hotel is definitely quieter, but unfortunately the in-room heating/cooling system is not great - you can't actually turn it off, so it either goes on and off all night or runs continuously with a loud fan. I have never stayed in a hotel with a wall heater/AC that you can't turn off.

Not even bags for your laundry or robes like most hotels have. Beds were uncomfortable and pillows were lumpy. The only staff that were friendly and seemed happy and nice were the staff that did the breakfast. I dont recommend this hotel and will not be going back the next time we visit Fort McMurray.
• qualityfinder101 (10/5): GREAT Experience! Highly recommend. - First off we bussed up our U18AA team from Lloydminster and each player was welcomed with a welcome gift bag of snacks and water. The rooms were clean, the lobby tidy, and the staff incredibly professional and friendly. We also weren’t the only team staying. There was another team of U13’s (guessing) and they looked to be having the greatest time with the games room. The staff were incredibly accommodating for the young hockey players to help them burn off their excess energy. The breakfast was delicious! Waffles, eggs, sausages. The kids were well fed for their game the following day. We will definitely be back for any further games in Fort McMurray, and will recommend this hotel be first choice for all traveling teams we talk to!! Thank you Microtel!!

• Rhonda (8/5): Great Place to Stay - This was my first stay at this hotel in Fort McMurray. When I checked in, they did everything they could to accommodate my 2 night stay, including making sure I wasn’t on the same floor as the kids hockey team which included upgrading my room. My only complaint is that the breakfast thats included with the stay, it isnt available before 6:00am which I found a bit inconvenient since the hotel is utilitzed by plenty of oilfield companies in town whos workdays start at 6:00am so having the breakfast available prior would have been better.

The location of the Hotel couldn’t be better with a nice view of nature just along the highway. Friendly staff and welcoming environment!

• cahoots (6/5): "Accessible" rooms are not for someone in a wheelchair - Their "accessible" rooms are lacking in many respects. First the bed is way too high to transfer safely from a standard wheelchair to the bed. The shower is impossible to use unless you can stand. The floor is covered in a very soft carpet, which is makes it very very hard to roll with a wheelchair. The coffee maker is almost too high for even someone that can stand.
• U3448PMjuang (8/5): Good service - Good place and service for a business trip. A confortable room to rest after a day of work. You can rest and disconnect after a working journing. Food and drinks are good and bar services are excellent. Algo good location and cab services are good and fast to arrive.

When checking out they didn’t put any additional charges on my bill then added them after for a room upgrade that should have been free. No where was it stated that the hot tub and steam room facilities are not in service and it looks like they have no plans to fix them.

• staceynowicki (8/5): Nice hotel - Clean and quiet. Do not have gluten free options for breakfast. Did not receive the room I booked on line (1 queen bed). Pillows are very puffy but the bed is very comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
