• John (1/5): I’d never stay here again - Nothing This is an expensive motel pretending to be a high class boutique hotel. Terrible internet, basic breakfast, manager often off duty if issue arises, etc. absolute waste of money. Much better options of far greater value available

Breakfast was great and complete and delicious. Our room was just above the buffet and garden bar, so it we could hear everything people talked.

• AlMc123 (4/5): Disappointing could be great but far from it - Casa Republica is in a brilliant location in Barranco but unfortunately that is about it. We stayed in room 104 on the ground floor and were kept awake late at night, woken during the night and woken each day around 5am due to the noise from reception and people coming in and leaving. Rooms 101-104 should be avoided for this reason. Although beautiful in the main house you will not have a restful sleep. It’s bizarre as the rooms are literally next to reception with little thought for those trying to sleep. There are even large sofas directly outside room 101 and 104, lovely for departing guests at 5am but awful for those trying to sleep. So yes a lovely building and great location but avoid the rooms on the ground floor. We found the breakfast poor compared to other hotels - we went out on day two instead. One positive… The rooftop bar is great and the service from Javier fantastic.

• upstatenyker (10/5): Wonderful experience! - We loved EVERYTHING about the Casa Republica Barranco - the staff, room and meals were all top notch. Eddie, Gaia and the restaurant staff all went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The location is excellent and within walking distance of restaurants, bars, atms and excursions. A walk along the ocean is only steps away. This hotel met all of our expectations and added to the wonderful time we spent in Lima.

• Oona (9/5): Barranco is a great place to stay in Lima, Casa Republica is a great hotel on the best street - Location, charm, staff. And great breakfast. Beautiful garden, rooftop bar and lovely rooms. Stupid and inane music which could be heard everywhere at all hours
• 47meghag (6/5): Nice atmosphere and great staff, rooms okay and surprising fee at the end - Stayed here for one night; the staff greeted me and were extremely friendly and kind. Though I had booked a single king bed, they had somehow had me slated for two twin bed room, which did they sort out right away but I felt was strange. The courtyard was very nice and they had free 24/7 coffee and filtered water, which I appreciated. My room was on the second floor and was susceptible to a lot of the noise in the courtyard but this did not matter much in the evening hours. Neither the toilet nor shower had a door to close it, and there was no full body mirror available which was disappointing. The room itself was clean but relatively small. The staff did help me sort out a dinner reservation issue. The next morning, as we were checking out, we were charged an extra 30 Peruvian soles for stains on the towels (from makeup etc) which honestly felt somewhat humiliating and has certainly never happened to me at any other hotel before, including premium hotels. Though the environment and staff were nice, this really put a damper on the experience and I felt left a sour taste in my mouth about everything, given that the hotel stay itself was on the pricier side I did not expect something like this. Overall, I'm not sure that the environment and neighborhood outweighed some of the negatives and I would say overall this was an average stay at a price point that I may have had a better experience at elsewhere.

The room is clean, also the bed and the pillows are comfortable. We like the location. The room is OK not the best compared to the price. There is big space in the bathroom that not really needed which I think much better if they added it to the room size “it’s a waste of space “. The room needs more light, and the curtains need to be replaced.

The breakfast was certainly good although coffee from an automatic machine rather than someone making an espresso was a disappointment. Staff were great. The decor and the garden added a lot The automatic coffee machine at breakfast which meant that we had to go out and buy a decent coffee. We ate in the restaurant one night and that was good but a bit below expectations

Es una casona/palacio antiguo reciclado con muy buen gusto. Tiene un jardín en el centro que es el lugar elegido para el desayuno (muy variado) y comidas. Habitación algo pequeña con escaso lugar de guardado. La aislación acústica no es muy buena. Nos explicaron que es un tema que buscan mejorar. Una de las habitaciones necesitaría alguna ventilación además del a/c. El problema que tiene es que estaba a metros del jardín y se escuchaba a los huéspedes desde horas tempranas hablando a viva voz.

La terraza es un placer. La habitación me pareció un poco justa para la calidad general del establecimiento. El desayuno con poca opción.

Coffee was available all day and night. The staff were very friendly and quick to help with our questions. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location was amazing for walking to center and many restaurants. The only thing that was not great was that the shower base was very slippery. Maybe more non slip tape should be put through the whole shower base.

• Stejaski (8/5): Beautiful Hotel with fantastic service. - This beautiful Hotel is in an historic building in the beautiful Baranca area of Lima. Great location with lots of bars and restaurants nearby and the beach at the end of the road. The receptionist could not have been more helpful if she tried a wonderful welcome the courtyard garden at the back was the setting for our breakfast more of which later. Our room was huge with a very large bathroom, large wardrobe and a very large and very comfortable bed. However, our room 102 was literally in reception which left it vulnerable to noise. In addition you could not open the shutters on the large windows as these were directly at Street level and offered no privacy if opened. The people in the bedroom above us woke at 5 o’clock in the morning and it was incredibly noisy; a little like an elephant in stilettos rolling a bowling ball back-and-forth. If we had been staying for more than two nights, we would’ve asked to move and I’m sure they would’ve done their best to accommodate. The rooftop bar open till 10 is a great spot for pre-dinner drinks, however being at the top of the building with no lift it can be a little challenging if stairs are a problem for you. There was there was an expensive choice at breakfast with both European and Peruvian options, including a range of egg dishes on demand. They did seem to run out of glasses and bowls on the regular basis but this is a minor point. In conclusion a Lovely if noisy stay and I would recommend. But do avoid rooms 102 and 103.

• Lyndsey (10/5): Wasn’t in love with Lima but was in love with this hotel! - Loved everything about this quirky property. Absolutely the best location in Lima. It has lovely staff, fantastic rooms, excellent breakfasts. Welcome cocktail a lovely touch. Free water to refill your bottles, free coffee and tea throughout!! Would have preferred a little more bathroom privacy (shower doors rather see through). A lift would be nice but the staff did help with luggage (thank goodness as at the end of a 23 days trip there was a LOT).

• Quentin COLTIER (10/5): A Relaxing Stay In Barranco ! - We only stayed one night but would have loved the stay more. First of all, thumbs up to the extremely welcoming staff upon arrival. They really made us feel at home and so throughout our stay. The hotel is very well located in Barranco, excellent conditions ! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom perfect and the breakfast was very nice with a lot of options ! Nice attention also, the welcome drink at the rooftop bar !
• Jonathon (8/5): Unreasonable Republica ... - The hotel is an old colonial house furnished and decorated in a contemporary style. Breakfast was pleasant and water and coffee are provided round the clock at no additional cost The size of the room was impossibly small for two people. Given the cost of the room it was very disappointing. The price should be much reduced or a larger room offered. Also we were embarrassed to be asked to return the laundry bag. It's a printed cloth bag which we took as a souvenir - nowhere did it say laundry bags were chargeable. We were asked for $10 for a $1 bag.

• Navigate10910318501 (10/5): Home Away from Home! - My #1 absolute favorite thing about Lima (in long list of fantastic things things) was staying at La Casa Republica Boutique Hotel! Where to start... I arranged with La Casa Republica to be picked up from the airport. I'm a solo female traveler, and was flying into Lima during the transit protests, so I wanted to have all my bases covered. However, I had gotten traveler's sickness on a previous leg of my journey so I was dazed; my flight number changed and I never realized; and my flight hit delays. Long story short, with any other hotel, I would have probably been stranded at the airport when I finally stumbled off the plane at 11 pm - about 2 hours after my established pickup time. But not in this case! The hotel staff made sure to take care of me from before I even arrived! I turned my phone back on to a flurry of messages, calls, and emails. Gaia (who was definitely working after hours at that point to keep track of me) had the driver stay to make sure I had a ride once I arrived, and she expressed such concern to make sure I was safe. Sure enough, I connected with the driver and arrived to their ABSOLUTELY STUNNING hotel safe and sound! This kind of attentiveness and care characterized my whole stay at La Casa Republica - everything was above and beyond, and then some. The accomodations are fantastic. I love my own bed, but this one topped it! The archictecture, high ceilings, furniture - it's all beautiful. My room had a private porch lined with flowers, and the bathroom was almost the size of my bedroom at home. Breakfast every morning was such a treat! The American fare along with Peruvian staples was deeply appreciated as I got my digestive system back on track from being sick earlier. The wait staff was so kind, and were there in a heartbeat if you needed anything. I started my days with mimosas, fresh bread and cheese, yogurt, omlettes, and more! They had a wide variety of offerings, all in this peaceful garden-side cafe-type setting. Every morning, I got the warmest greeting from the concierge staff, and they happily helped me with my itinerary. One morning, I really wanted to see the center of Lima, but protests were happening. The concierge staff gave me recommendations, directions, and safety tips. The morning after, they shared they were worried because I came back later than planned (I was captivated by the magnificent Larco Museum). Especially as a solo traveler, it felt good to know the staff so authentically cared, and that I could reach out if I needed anything. On my second night, I visited the rooftop bar for my complimentary pisco sour. I watched the moon, listened to the waves crash on the beach, and chatted with staff. Javier and the whole team were so kind! They brought me a blanket to keep warm and cancha to snack on (try it - delicious!) and asked about my itinerary and interests. The rooftop was abuzz, with groups and solo travelers, all just enjoying the beautiful night. The location of La Casa Republica cannot be beat. Barranco is beautiful, artsy, friendly, and safe. There's so much to explore, from shops and markets to street art and galleries. The hotel is across from the truly awesome Jade Rivera Museum, and Dedalo - a great spot to find unique hand-crafted items from local artisans. It's also about a 10-minute [gorgeous, ocean-side] stroll to Miraflores. The staff at La Casa Republica is beyond incredible - across the board. Every person I interacted with was warm and eager to help. They took every possible detail of my experience into account. There was not a single point during my stay that I felt like I was traveling alone. Quite the opposite - I felt like I was in a home away from home. There's more I'd like to see in Lima, but after my experience, I'd love to go back just to stay in the hotel again!

Our room was comfortable with all the amenities you would expect & opened onto a small private garden area. In addition the restaurant offered a good choice of meals and the breakfast was also good, buffet style with daily egg dishes cooked to order. Overall, a very comfortable stay.
• R4324KClisas (10/5): First Class all the way - Casa Republica was our introduction to Peru, and what an unbeatable first impression! Rose greeted us as soon as we arrived and immediately made us feel at home, providing detailed information not only about the hotel but also about Barranco—its restaurants, museums, and even where to find an ATM. Breakfast was excellent, with cooked-to-order eggs alongside a daily buffet of fresh options. Water (con and sin gas), coffee, and tea were available 24 hours a day, which was a thoughtful touch. Our king room was spacious, comfortable, and overlooked the gardens—a peaceful retreat in the city. On our last day, while we relaxed in one of the many sitting areas as our room was being cleaned, a gentleman I believe was the manager (unfortunately I misplaced his card) stopped by to ask how we were enjoying our stay. We ended up chatting for quite a while, and he recommended his favorite Peruvian dish—ají de gallina—at the local icon Isolina. As promised, it was absolutely delicious! When we return to Lima in mid November, there’s no question—we’ll stay at Casa Republica again.

• Macphail (9/5): Highly recommended - A fabulous old building that has been made comfortable while keeping the character of the historic building. The staff were all excellent. Our room was spacious and quiet The area was lovely and safe to walk around, a welcome rest from much of the rest of Lima. We had long taxi rides to get to other parts of Lima, but it was a price worth paying to stay in such a lovely area.
