Guest Reviews
- Emmanuel (10/5): - Room Clean, place comfortable, kind staff, wonderful!! Pleasure to stay there 😊
- Martha B (9/5): -
- Ann (8/5): -
- Kristina_Travels (7/5): Good hostel for a short stay near the beach. - The location is very convenient. Shot way to the beach and to the supermarket and bus stops. The common area is comfy and not noisy. The shower is good. Friendly staff. WiFi works well. The dorm room was a bit small. Not all the beds were booked, so I got lucky, but if its fully booked, it would have been a bit tight to put your stuff anywhere etc.
- Marilyn (1/5): - Comfortable lounge area and place for cooking Nowhere to put valuables like your passport. Should have lockers
- Long (8/5): -
- alejandra (10/5): -
- Fernando (8/5): - El personal amable y muy dispuesto Lo visitan algunas personas que son muy sucias
- Palomin (10/5): Easy check in and checkout. - Great value for the price. Onsite restaurant and good parking available.
- Oscar (7/5): Agradable y limpio - El hostal es bueno y está limpio Que en Booking tenía un precio y cuando llegue me dieron otro precio más alto
- Alice (8/5): - Good beds, clean, AC in rooms, locker for valuables, bar at back with excellent food at good price To be expected but loud because of proximity to road.
- Alice (9/5): - Clean, good ac, comfortable bed, restaurant /bar at back with live music Road noise

- Amanda (8/5): Its the only hostel in Bucerias, i would stay again - great location, great staff, super clean bathroom, and room. I really appreciated this hostel because it had everything you wanted in a hostel - kitchen, clean bathroom, handsoap, clean toilets, safe lockers, AC at night, and some socialness. I would stay there again. There was a person in the room who looked like they had FULLY MOVED IN with poor hygiene. Obviously this can’t be controlled by the hostel but made our stay way less comfortable since it’s quite a small dorm room. The staff is also extremely strict about their rules. No refunds under any conditions (fair), the AC (no matter how hot) comes on at 10 and turns off immediately at 8. There are no exceptions (fair). There were just some elements that made it less comfortable and could make it more comfortable
- Brianna (8/5): Over all was very good - That the air conditioner was limited to only durangueño the sleep times ( only durangueño the evenings )..
- Cindy (8/5): Very good -
- Britney (8/5): Good - Nice spot close to the beach and lots to do around. Oxxo right next door, and the backyard restaurant attached has great salmon eggs Benedict. Price was good. AC was good. Kitchen had everything you need. Washrooms were very small, hard to fit as a tall person.
- Melvin (8/5): About a 30 minute walk to the City centre - Clean newer buildings with a Fabulous Restaurant And Bar in the Backyard.
Attracting visitors & Guests from the surrounding areas. Noise from the Highway very close by
- Erica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (7/5): The staff were very helpful . They were very clear in there answers, thank you Jay - The meals were absolutely wonderful Less noise at night. The students ironing out side of the room were talking very loud. Some people snore like I have never heard before.
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Michell (4/5): Not for backpackers! - Staff was friendly. A/C in room to drown out the highway noise a bit. Bed was comfortable. Shared room was so small , bunk beds overlapping. I opted to upgrade to single room. No sound proofing from traffic/ hallways.Very Loud! Lights from other rooms shine into mine. 12 people using 1 toilet. Ran out of water the first day, toilet paper the next. 95% rooms are for resort workers, not travelers. So fridges are full of their food and 2 tables are always full with them eating.( not blaming them) Green space is now a restaurant, so no where to sit / relax. Rooms are not like the pictures! I would not recommend this place.
- Edmund (7/5): Good -
- Carlos (1/5): Not as described at all, loud at night, not for tourists - It’s hard to think of something, nothing lol The place is not tourist friendly, be careful when you book because they won’t allow you to reserve unless you pay the whole amount, why because when you see the place it’s nothing like the in the pictures, no patio, barely has a common area and the dorms are packed with workers personal items. The admin of the place is just a grabbing money machine, stay away!
- Nicole (1/5): An absolute scam - This place is for sure a scam and not at all what is advertised. I actually did not stay at all because I felt very uncomfortable as a single woman travelling alone. Once I saw the room, I decided it was safer to stay elsewhere. The place looks nothing like the pictures on the website and is falsely advertised. I would expect to be reimbursed by booking.com because I read the reviews and was pulled into a false sense of security through the photos and very carefully place reviews. The google reviews tell the true story. There is a reason this place is no refund. I would NOT recommend booking here. I actually would avoid booking with booking.com at all in the future. Expedia has never let me down. Literally everything. It looks nothing like the pictures and actually the hotel doesn't even look like a hotel from the outside. There is little to no security. The rooms are really run down and look like a prison cell. T
here is no outdoor space as shown in the pictures. I was charged 70 dollars Canadian for this room and was shocked by what I received. I looked at the room, and immediately returned my key and left because I got such bad vibes from this place. It's really creepy and does not feel like a safe place to stay. I wish I had more photos because it's truly bizarre. Shoutout to the OXXO staff nearby, and the taxi stand that helped me get back to Sayulita.
- Anna (8/5): Worth it. - The staff. That there is a kitchen. The café bar next door. The bed was comfortable. Sheets were better than most, as far as the material goes. The location is a short walk to the beach. There was hot water for showers. All female dorm room. Bathrooms could be cleaner. Cigarettes smell in bathrooms and outside of bathrooms.
The refrigerator has too much food. And some of it smelled spoiled.
Bathrooms need a shelf to put a toiletry bag on. And hooks for clothes would be helpful .
Traffic noise..
- Carlos (1/5): Don’t stay here, pretty pictures, bad place! - Not much, only friendly staff. This place is the house for workers, not for tourist, dorms are filled with lots of stuff and personal items since they’re living there, no lower bunk beds available because of this, they lied about the common area use, you can’t be in the patio, is owned by a third party restaurant, bathrooms always dirty (se e pictures) loud noise from the restaurant at times at night when you want to sleep, BE CAREFUL they take pictures of your documents when you check in, only hostal where I’ve seen this. The booking system is designed for no cancellation or date changes and they will charge your card the next day (money grabbing tactic) Stay way from this place if you ask me
- Tanya (8/5): Very good - I think this was my fourth stay! Need I say more! Always good vibes : )
- Megan (9/5): Excellent value and location - This was my second stay and I noted several changes after two years. The most important was a number of different dorm rooms having been added so I was in a less crowded room and on the top floor - which was nice especially for the balcony view facing the ocean. Initially there was ample hot water, but then it was harder to come by when more people arrived (or started using more water?). It's a lot quieter in the evenings as the bar in back has changed to a restaurant and bar and doesn't have live music too late. The kitchen has plenty of cooking/serving ware and there's lots of fridge space - as well as a microwave. Clean/Filtered water is also provided, which is a bonus. Friendly and helpful staff - and generally very clean. Good wifi. Lockers provided in the hallways, but bring your own padlock. No other international travelers this time around. This might have to do with the time of year, but there were a lot during my prior stay. Would definitely recommend as an economical stay with an extremely convenient location for Bucerias or hopping on a bus for a day trip. It could be helpful to have more porcelain or glass plates/bowls (as most are plastic), but I understand concerns about breakage.
- Wilde (2/5): Very poor - Bar next door
Staff were friendly Owner, not friendly
Inconsiderate roommates - turn full on, bright lights at 2 and 3 am, singing, music is room with people sleeping
- Les (8/5): Very good -
- Tyler (9/5): Superb - Good shower. Easy access. Plenty of parking
- Nancy (7/5): Great location but ... - Location is great ... bus stop less than 5 minutes walk to hostel; 10 minutes walking distance to beach, convenient local bus access to/from airport (PVR) and friendly staff. Traveler's vibe minimal as most guests staying in the hostel are hotel employees working in Punta Mita. Stay is not as pleasant as there are many people coming in 24/7. 6 people dorm room super small with beds crammed and no adequate space for belongings. Fridge is always full and kitchen dirty simply because of too many local workers temporarily housed their by their Punta Mita hotel employers.
- Pascale (7/5): Clean bed and what it takes to cook, except a wine bottle opener, which I purchased - The hostal is close to a convenience store, little tienditas and a big grocery store one block away. It is also 4 or 5 blocks from the beach. You can go to the arts & regional crafts market and find tostadas with ceviche for 50 pesos, if you go where the Mexicans eat and not to expensive restaurants. Prices have gone up a lot in the last 4 years. There are good musical shows from the window at night: music from the '80s, bossa nova, reggae style, etc. The Mexican workers come and go and a few gringos. The workers are friendly, especially 'el ché'. What I liked less is that the TV is often on and loud in the daytime, when one wants to read or be online. There used to be lawn in the backyard, but now there is a restaurant bar downstairs. Not the ideal place for someone who wants tranquility. The hostel is also right by the main Banderas boulevard, so there is a lot of traffic nearby.
- Kimbery (1/5): My stay was awful. I booked a month and ended up moving out on the third day. - The only thing good about this hostel was the location. I did not get the room I thought I was getting. There were no other travellers staying there, it was all locals that lived there. The patio area in the back is not at all what is advertised online.
- Beatrijs (2/5): Very poor -
- Thisal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pellicant (10/5): Really nice - Everything was really nice, the rooms are clean and with a lot of luminosity. The personal was so nice with me, thank you so much for this few days. I highly recommend this hostal to discover the region of Puerto Vallarta ☺️
- Corban (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francisco (8/5): Very good - location is good late check in is not available
- Thomas (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lbee (9/5): Superb -
- Tyler (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gilliland (10/5): Clean. Bed was really comfortable, I slept well every night. Met good people. Will be back. - Clean. Friendly staff. Good location. I lost my prescription glasses.
- Gaydene (7/5): Overall it was okay. - Location On some nights the crowd noise from “The Backyard” restaurant/bar went on until very late.
- Anonymous (10/5): excellent place to stay. clean. safe area. very nice and cool people - very clean, good location. friendly people. nothing
- Imelda (8/5): Very good - friendly service to much noise.
- Koch (8/5): Very good - Staff was very helpful. I liked how close it was to the convenience store. The backyard was a good place to hang out Didn't have locks for lockers. Couldn't find one at store
- Travellinggypsy (10/5): *** Close to the Beach, Restaurants, and Grocery Stores - SUPER CLEAN, GREAT STAFF, QUITE AFTER 11pm, A/C werked Great @ Nite time, I will Definitely Be Back in the Future... Nice amenities throughout, included Clean Bathrooms and Showers too ❤️
- Erinne (1/5): locked out, homeless despite paying full price & trying to communicate our late bus problem - I didn’t like having the hostel not answer their phone, text, email or doorbell. I didn’t like arriving to discover we were locked out (most hostels have a night person, usually the phone number posted at the door is answered).
- Hansen (8/5): Very good -
- Alexander (7/5): Good -
- Nnn1112 (8/5): Good location in Bucerias - After seeing the shared room, I chose a private room. The room was nice, spacious, has a ventilator and air conditioning, wifi is pretty good, everything is being cleaned a few times a day. Kitchen available to cook, although not very well equiped with utensils. But pretty decent price and location for your money in Bucerias. Hostel has lockers too to store your stuff. The shared room has around 14 beds, if I'm not mistaking. It's a lot. Not the best choice for a quiet night. Also just one bathroom for 14 people. Otherwise you'll have to go downstairs to shower.
The kitchen could be better equiped. There is a fridge with a lot of space, there are plates and cups, but almost no sharp knifes, good pans with lids etc.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victor (8/5): Very good - Habitación Location
