• Gemma (9/5): Gem in the centre of Ortigia, warm welcome, highly recommended - Palazzo Gilistro is in the heart of Ortigia, making it full of character and brilliant for visiting the landmarks, cafes, restaurants and exploring the streets. We could not have been made to feel more welcome by Bernadette and Francesca, who reached out ahead of our arrival to organise valet parking and restaurant reservations. The room was a great size, comfortable and clean. We all slept well in this hotel. The terrace bar is a lovely spot - we appreciated the welcome drink. The breakfast was just average.

I had 5 people in my room and we weren’t crowded. I booked the entire hotel for a retreat I was leading and my clients loved it. They can’t do anything about this but not being able to get dropped off directly in front was a challenge for some of my clients. We made it work .

Very good buffet breakfast at hotel. Many options for every taste. The room was very spacious, and the French balcony was a nice bonus. Fun to do people watching from the balcony! The 3rd floor terrasse was very nice, and Taylor was a good drink mixer. The hotel personnel was simply amazing. Thank you Francesca, Viola, Bernadette and Daniele. You made our stay unforgettable.

The parking is tough. You have to park in a public lot that is a 7 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is in a great location, just no cars allowed on the street.

• Martin (10/5): - Highly recommend this little hotel. We had such a great stay. The hotel is in a very central position in Oritigia. Great breakfasts and a very comfortable room with a balcony looking over one the the main pedestrian streets, but best of all was the team at the hotel who couldn't of been more helpful and welcoming. We hope to return some day.

• Patricia (10/5): - Staff was great, the room was charming and the breakfast was the best in Italy! There was street noise in the later evening as we were trying to sleep. We are not party people. The arrival and parking situation was unclear as this was our first Ortigia trip. I thought that we had arranged for someone to park our car. We had to walk our luggage in to the hotel with no where to park leaving someone with the car and police officers telling us we could not stay there then drive to a public parking and pay there. We needed help to find the hotel property and this took lots of texts.

• Lilia (10/5): Angels in a quiet paradise in Syracusa - When you read comments you always think that the perfection can’t exist. But I can tell that Palazzo Gilistro is that kind of places that would definitely deserve a 100/10. Ortigia is a dream place we felt in love with, and that won’t have happened if we didn’t get to Palazzo Gilistro. The hotel is super well located close to all the magnificent places to visit, and to the best restaurants around. While you can feel the heartbeats of the city, you can enjoy a quiet and peaceful cocoon as soon as you step through the door of this haven of peace. The family room we got was very well furnished and super clean. The breakfast is very good and the common area very friendly. Last but not least: the team is simply amazing ! They provided us support before, during and after our stay with the same constant sense of service and hospitality. We are very thankful for having selected Palazzo Gilistro and we put it in our top five best places to come back to. Special thanks to Bernadette 🥰
