Guest Reviews
- Antonakis (10/5): Enjoyable, relaxing and practising yoga on another level. - Very Relaxing, allowing you to rejuvenate More options for breakfasts, but that does not by asking the chef, and he will accomodate your needs.
- Lauren (10/5): Incredible relaxing escape from the grind - The property is beautiful, but the staff is everything! Stunning location, staff that become family!
Had an awesome yoga session with a local Balinese Yogi named Made’
- Kazarovich (10/5): We loved the good vibes at Soulshine, and we really did feel like part of the family. - The staff is so wonderful! The room was an excellent size to share with a friend, and the pools were so peaceful. The breakfast buffet and all other food we tried was delicious. Our room didn't have outlets that were easily accessible for hair styling tools, and a hand towel rack of some sort at the sink area would be a nice for convenience.
- Katie (10/5): Fully recharged - The vibe at soulshine is exceptional, the staff are incredibly kind. We spent hours lounging by the pool, enjoying the morning yoga, and eating dish after dish of the incredible menu. The room was very comfortable. Can fully recommend! The property is not in a walkable area of ubud — a tradeoff you have to make for the privacy and beauty of location
- Terri (10/5): It was a paradise - The most beautiful guitar!! I wrote 3 songs while there Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Best music, decor and vibe I’ve experienced in Bali - Incredible decor and music, very peaceful, fantastic food and overall lovely vibe. Loved it. Would go back in a heartbeat.
- Kate (10/5): -
- Jorge Humberto (10/5): Great place, great service, excellent breakfast, we had a great time! Loved the pool and chill area - It is a great resort just minutes from downtown Ubud, very comfortable connecting room for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, 2 rooms, 2 king beds, they also have the option for 1 king and 2 singles. The a la carte Menu for dinner can improve.
- Deena (10/5): I shall return .. pure luxury really didn’t need to leave the property the staff couldn’t have done more for me - Breathtaking
Loved strolling around the property
Quirky decor
The hip hop bash with the staff 👏👏👏 Very little
Your staff are exceptional humans representing Soulshine brand
- Daniela (9/5): Stunning rice-field views, cozy spaces, delicious food, friendly staff - simply great vibes - Beautiful setting with wonderful views over the rice fields and lush greenery. We loved the many different seating areas and cozy little corners to relax and unwind. The standout feature, though, was the record player in the room - we had it on throughout our stay and absolutely loved it.
The food was wholesome and delicious, and the fresh coconuts were the biggest we’ve ever had. The staff were great and genuinely friendly, and the pool and daybeds were perfect for spending a lazy afternoon. It would have been great to have an on-site gym - not only to relax the mind, but also to take care of the body. The occasional yoga class also wasn’t very inviting, as even when we asked, it wasn’t clear what type of yoga was being offered. More options for on-site activities would have been appreciated (though we understand this may have been influenced by the very low occupancy during the rainy season).

- Olivia (10/5): Great picturesque stay with friendly and attentive staff - Beautiful picturesque location that pays close attention to detail! Great place to wind down and relax. Very attentive staff and service. Automatically split bills when traveling with friends and sending them one day before checkout to review made the checkout so smooth and fast! Also the free outside yoga classes were nice. Oh, and they always knew our names, which made it all more personal… Can highly recommend! The Spa was nice. Also booked a manicure with nail polish. Sadly the polish did not come out to well. Everything before that was done with great care and attention to detail. So I would suggest to have a bit more training on putting on the polish flawless without any uneven and different layered results.

- Dada (7/5): -
- Bruce (4/5): Good bones, horrible execution - they need a management upgrade - Room was great The management completely fell down on the job, from not responding to simple requests in a timely way, to not maintaining the property to an appropriate standard - there was trash everywhere along the creek that runs through the place, and scuff marks on all the wooden furniture, as well as floow-to-ceiling windows that weren't cleaned, and our minibar wasn't stocked despite multiple requests. My sense is that they have serious management issues here.
- Hsingchun (10/5): -
- Oğulcan (9/5): -
- Petra Schein (9/5): The location / setting is beautiful and peaceful. - What is there not to like. Breakfast was great. Our room was wonderful and so was the pool. We took advantage of the free yoga classes. And let's not forget the Spa treatment. Just heavenly.
E' davvero traumatico :)
- withers (10/5): Soulshine - a piece of Paradise - Everything about Soulshine is beautiful, such a peaceful setting, lovely food, great yoga classes every morning. Very well organised and run, staff are friendly and very attentive. Very clean and secure. Not far from the centre of Ubud. A beautiful piece of paradise 🩵 There's nothing I can say that's negative. It's amazing
- Ana Paula (10/5): -
- Tajan (10/5): Awesome hotel in every regard! - This is a spectacular hotel! The staff is extremely welcoming and kind. The setting of the hotel is wonderful, everything is lush and green, the pools are awesome, the breakfast is exceptional (the bread alone is sensational), as is the food in general. Food prices are modest, in particular in view of the quality. There is a wonderful vibe in this hotel, it is not just that the staff are kind, the vibe is easygoing and relaxed and everyone is lighthearted (while a the same time very professional). Overall a fantastic stay, I would return in a heartbeat.
- Beverley (10/5): - Loved this hotel. Great vibe. Delicious food. Staff were very helpful
- Joanne (7/5): It’s a beautiful place overall and the staff are exceptional - Beautiful lush landscapes , the staff and the food. For the cost of my room, a lot of maintenance was required with locks etc. fridge turned off not a lot of wardrobe space. My room was a long way from the event space. Panorama would have been better.
- Angela (10/5): Relaxing in paradise - Staff were so friendly
Food was amazing
Beautiful resort
Relaxing
Would definitely stay again Nothing
- Suzanne (10/5): Relaxing, friendly and welcoming -
- Anon87 (9/5): -
- Ibis M (10/5): - This hotel has a fabulous staff, the service is super efficient, and the kindness is impressive. The only thing I can mention is that sometimes a bad smell came from the bathroom sewer, and they were working on the street at night, which woke me up due to the noise. Other than that, if you’re looking to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place.
- Raghava (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqui (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georg (10/5): Go, you won’t regret 😉 - Great hotel and we can highly recommend it.
Love the dedication for the food, rooms are nice and spacious with an amazing view (panorama room).
We enjoyed the Yoga session in the morning as also the cocktail in the evening with sunset and DJ and live music on weekends. The distance to the city didn’t bother us (we knew it), to get a grab taxi wasn’t a problem at anytime.
- Yoko (10/5): Exceptional - Here is all about good vibes only! There’s good music, good food, a great atmosphere, and wonderful people.
This place is so much more than just somewhere to sleep — it’s a space that hugs you. I’m deeply grateful for always being welcomed back with the words, “Welcome home.”🩷
Special thanks to Sila, Dinar, Intan, and Devi for creating such a heartfelt welcome and taking care of me during my stay.
And to the SPA team Hana, Mini, and Ayu — thank you. Because of you, my spa time is always filled with happiness and healing.
I love this place!
- Sirine (8/5): Overall is good - I liked this place it’s very nice
The design, the food, the room was very nice - I didn’t like the fact that you can’t get in touch with the staff ( reception, housekeeping, room service,…) only by the application which doesn’t work most of the time or they don’t reply to it! It should be a phone in the room in case of emergency or anything!
- its over priced
- FAHRETA (6/5): - The bed around swimming pools are not clean
- Anirudh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles (10/5): Blissful abode - It was an amazing beautiful vibe place to unwind and emerge myself in the tranquil setting on the outskirts of Ubud.
Staff were so friendly and accommodating as my son is a very picky eater.
The food was so clean and nourishing and I loved the cabanas by the pool.
Definitely recommend this place,
Michael Franti congrats on an amazing abode you have created for travellers to relax 🙏
- Ciaran (8/5): Nice stay, but could possibly have offered more options to create a true wellness experience. The distance to central Ub - The free morning yoga classes were a real treat. Imagine stepping into a serene elevated rooftop room, its design inspired by traditional Balinese architecture. The space feels open and expansive, with wide, open windows on all sides, creating a space that feels sacred and peaceful.
The various dining options at the restaurant were really good (and healthy) with a special call out for the breakfast smoothie bowl.
The spa facility was also a really nice space, with options aplenty for choosing a suitable treatment. The journey to central Ubud can become tiring due to traffic. All told it can take up to an hour or more during heavy traffic in a car. Suggest travelling via motorcycle if you’re comfortable with this option.
The internet connection was sketchy at times and buffering issues were common.
Can get loud with kids running around in the common areas.
There are other resorts in Jimbaran Bay and Uluwatu at a similar price point which offer a superior experience.
- Sherlyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional - A lot of love has been put into this place. It’s a stand out.
- Trudy (9/5): Beautiful and inspiring surroundings. - Breakfast was hearty and delicious, a little too much food but loved the presentation. One of the best latte drinks I've had. Nothing
- Chayne (10/5): Loved this laid back inspiring rock star resort, will definitely come back and next time stay longer - Fun style and memes. Gorgeous pool! We loved having vinyl in our rooms. Staff lovely. Food delicious. Everything amazing. Didn't want to leave! Nothing.
- Anastasia (10/5): Great stay - Very nice place, beautiful, calm and with great staff. Room and facilities are new, I
Love rooms design and overall design of the hotel. Breakfast is great as well.
I arrived at 3pm and staff put a diner to my room, that was so lovely, rarely meet in big hotels, that made my visit special right from the beginning. N/A
- Zeynep (10/5): The staff were amazing and everywhere was clean - The view was fantastic
- Marisa (10/5): We will be back and I would recommend the resort without any hesitation - The team was amazing - every single one of them.
Kind, attentive, ready to help with anything. Nothing 🥰
- Amy (10/5): Nourishment for all of your senses - It was obvious that there was much thought and care put in to Soulshine.
All of my senses were nourished.
Soulshine was an 11/10 for me.
- Zisi (10/5): A place I am looking forward to visit again - It is an exceptionally property with professional employees, ready to make your stay memorable
- Michaela (6/5): Fab resort. Too many staff who were not efficient. - Design was spectacular. Great attention to detail The check in was very slow and lacked information on property. Staff not efficient
- Anita (6/5): Adults only hotel. Charges extra for everything, even for extra coffee at breakfast 😄 - New and modern- hippie style This property is not suitable for families with kids. Should be sold as adults only.
- Nupur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Holmberg (6/5): Beautiful hotel but stupid prices for everything at the hotel. - The room and the pool area was really Nice The food was not good - you can eat really good in Bali, so dont waste your meals at the hotel. Everything on the hotel is stupid expensive. We come from Denmark, but everything was Way more exspensive at this hotel and not Living up to the quality.
Massage was 10 times more expensive than any other place we have been.
When we checked out , then wanted to help with a driver , but the Price was 3 times the Price we could get our self.
- Shell (7/5): Nice but overpriced for what it is - Lovely pools. Very spacious. Nice areas to eat and hang out. A lot of The staff seem like they are fresh out of hospitality school and don’t speak much English. We had to ask 6 times at breakfast to get 2 glasses of cold water. There’s a lack of flow.
You have to walk through the restaurant to get to the pool.
There are stairs everywhere so if you have accessibility requirements you would struggle.
- Sebastian (10/5): Soulful, rejuvenating, expert care and high comfort. - Everything exceeded my expectations, the room was stunning, the soft furnishings really added a great touch. It was also a huge room, much larger than I thought it would be with an incredible view over the rice fields. Super comfy bed, with a seating area and the chair swing on the balcony. The coffee machine and record player were fantastic additions as were the turndown service complete with bedtime treats and local story. Plus the fast kettle and water bottles (with water fountain outside the room for refills). Bathroom was amazing. A real luxury.
Every detail had been thought of. The staff were incredible, a really nice touch is that they learn your name, something very small but makes you feel very welcomed. Special mentions to Dinda, Roy, Putu, Devi and Pranata in the restaurants and Ayu in the spa. The only slight let down, for me was the evening food, breakfast was incredible (a great array of fresh fruit and main dishes) but I would have wanted the main lunch and dinner menus to have been slightly more Balinese influenced and less western. Perhaps also a different menu from lunch to dinner. However everything I did eat (chicken Bao buns, smoothies, fried cauliflower, Mie Goring, Seared Tuen) were all delicious. It's a really minor detail considering your surroundings and also you can eat out in Ubud.
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful place. Wonderful location, lovely staff.. There was nothing I didn't like.
- Tahira (9/5): Superb -
- Wenz (9/5): We loved our stay, the room was impeccable not to mention the staff ! - Great facilities, we enjoyed Soulshine very much, It was not that we didn't like but it is not in the centre of Ubud, we didn't mind it as we hired a motorcycle to get around.
- Lea (9/5): It was magical. - The grounds, staff, activities, room, view and tranquility. The constant noise of the aircon and dehumidifier.
- Pavel (4/5): Stunning Location, but Service and Pricing Could Be Improved - We are currently staying at Soulshine Bali, and while the rooms and premises, especially the rice terraces and pool, are truly stunning, the service could use some improvement. You are constantly being asked where you’re going and if you want to order, often the same question by different staff within the span of 5 minutes, which can get a bit overwhelming. Some of the staff are not well-trained, and the valet staff were dismissive and rude, particularly if you arrange your own transport via Grab.
We chose this hotel largely because my wife is a yoga teacher and was hoping for daily yoga sessions. However, there’s only one basic yoga class per day, which was a bit of a letdown. Additionally, there is no gym on-site, which was disappointing for a wellness-focused hotel.
The food is also overpriced and, in most cases, not great. While the setting is beautiful, it feels like the hotel goes out of its way to drain your wallet. Excursions, spa treatments, and tours are almost double the price of what you can find elsewhere.
That said, the hotel uses a convenient app for communicating with staff, and they did help arrange a lovely surprise for my wife’s birthday, which we appreciated.
Overall, the rooms and views are incredible, but service, amenities, and pricing need improvement.
- Han (9/5): Superb -
- Sai (10/5): perfect! - Everything! the place was absolutely stunning and service impeccable! expensive but worth every penny! nothing
- andrea (10/5): - The staff are kind and helpful
The space is do peaceful
- Adina (10/5): Holiday for soul! - The hotel was amazing, room was very big and very clean. The staff is very friendly and wiling to help whenever was needed. I have arrived around 11pm at the hotel and there was some fresh food as an welcome. In the next morning I had a birthday surprise, the staff started to sing happy birthday and welcomed me with chocolate cake, even if my birthday was 2 days ago. I really appreciated their kindness and I had a great start of holiday. Breakfast was very tasty, there is a menu from where you can choose a primary meal, besides that everyday I had fresh fruits, homemade jam and fresh basket with croissants and bread. For drinks there are so many types of coffee and tea from where you can choose, but for vegan milk or a matcha latte, there is an extra pay. The prices are affordable, but usually these should be included. Anyway this is not a negative comment, I just wanted to mention it. However I will suggest for more food options in the menu.
Also, there is no phone in the room but the hotel has an application from where you can communicate with the reception, housekeeping, order room service or whatever you need. I found it very interesting and more helpful, especially that my requests were accomplished very fast.
Overall, my stay was wonderful and for sure I will come back!
I forgot to mention that I had one of my best massage ever!! ❤️❤️ Everyday they organized so many activities within the hotel and because of my busy schedule, I couldn't participate. There were painting workshops, cooking classes and so many nice activities. Hope to enjoy all of them next time!
- Rachel (9/5): Amazing - enjoyed every minute. we loved the set up for our romantic dinner to celebrate our annivesary. it was absolutely amazing. We were just so surprised that the hotel serves alcohol and not soda drinks. only diet soda. more drink options would have been nice. i totally understand that its a healthy place but giving people options like white rice would be great. there is need for flexibility in terms of food because not everyone staying is on a healthy journey. we were there to enjoy.
- Alex (8/5): Very good -
- Yi (10/5): this place has my heart - so many sweet details. always clean and tidy the noise cancellation is not good, can hear others talk outside
- Natalia (10/5): Amazing room decoration and views, perfect location (20' ride from Ubud town). - The room decoration as well as the views (rice terraces with palm trees) have exceeded our expectations. We were absolutely amazed. Such a cool vibe from the moment you step into the hotel at Reception.
- David (10/5): Ready to go back. - Tranquil environment was very relaxing. Would have loved to be able to leave the property and go for a walk with out being barked at by numerous dogs.
- Darren (10/5): Great place to stay and staff where friendly and great to deal with - Everything was great staff friendly and exceptional Nothing
- Jetlagger (10/5): Feel like royalty at a fraction of the price - The resort is spacious but be prepared for stairs
The food was great!
I loved that the staff remembered your name and room number after telling them once! The amount of stairs when I have a bad knee
- Poppy55 (9/5): Incredible rooms and facilities, the lush scenery makes your brain melt into holiday mode. - Soulshine was so incredible, from the moment we arrived to the welcome drink and treat it was so lovely and well thought out. The design is gorgeous and you don't want to leave. The pools are excellent, our group had the funnest child-like time on the slide and jumping ledge and relaxing around the resort. With only about 80 people staying there it never feels busy even though it was booked out when we were there. The rooms are ridiculous, we kept gawking when taken through, free tea, a cocktail bar and the records were incredible. The rooms are also soundproof which meant playing music and hanging out with friends was possible and so fun unlike most hotels where you can't make that kind of noise. I didn't use the spa but my friends did and loved their range of treatments, was nice to do it so close by. The service at the restaurants was really hit and miss, we ate there a lot as the traffic into town often didn't make it worth it (walking was faster once you got close) and for breakfast one day it took us 90 mins to get all our orders. Then other times it was fine? The other difficulty was their system for charging back to the rooms, ours weren't quite right and I've still been chasing down an itemised bill as it was all grouped by where you ordered and a lot of things ended up on my name as I booked multiple rooms. It wasn't a big deal but for a 5 star resort just meant a painful checkout. The service charges on the facilities at this resort are higher than others, so keep that in mind when doing spas/food there but honestly you won't want to leave it's such an oasis.
- Aygul (8/5): If you’re after zen with a side of fun! - During the day it’s nice and quiet. Loved the seating area by the pool, where I could also have my breakfast. Breakfast menu was great. Online communication via app was prompt and easy to use. Enjoyed listening to a DJ during dinner time. Property layout is beautiful. Pools were stunning. Check-in and check-out process was quite slow. Room service menu items were small portions and slow to arrive. Some items were quite expensive, not to mention the spa menu. Would have loved a magnesium bath for my muscles, but wasn’t willing to pay nearly $100 Aussie dollars to sit in water for 45 mins! As a solo female traveller, I didn’t like my room location right by the stairs, where I could hear every guest upstairs, walk past my room. This was unsettling. Also, no double locking of door available. Sliding door was not sliding with ease. Took me awhile to close each time. Wooden floorboards on balcony made it so noisey as guests walked past. Thin walls, could hear new guests check-in next door, argue, play guitar and use the bathroom! There were groups of people staying for a retreat of some sort. Felt that these people were considered first priority within the resort. DJ usually played till 9pm with a spot of singing/karaoke. Can be too noisey for early sleepers, like myself.

- Kristen (10/5): Blissful retreat with stunning vistas and a real sense of calm. Paradise. - Our family suite was amazing, so spacious, bright and clean. We had a wonderful outdoor terrace with huge bath on the balcony and fantastic views. The menu was super for adults and varied, but limited options for fussy children. However, the hotel was happy to cook off menu for my two which was very much appreciated.
- Steven (10/5): Lovely trendy resort. - Amazing oasis in ubud. Trendy ultra friendly. Generally amazing A few exclusions in breakfast like certain coffee types.
- Steven (10/5): Incredible oasis in the hell that is ubud. - Absolute gem
- Niuosha (7/5): I like the concept in general. It may need more training for staff - Breakfast was good, morning yoga classes were refreshing. Using the application for communication instead of phone was smart. Nice view from the restaurant. The breakfast was not buffet and usual coffees were not included in the inclusion. The price of coffee was very high (almost $8 AUD per Cup).
The basics were not prepared in the room ( I understand it may be part of the concept) such as iron and tooth brush. However, after requesting through the app, the provided in the next 20mins. The toilet did not have fan and the room was super humid and dark.
- Grant (10/5): - Stunning property - amazing food and friendly staff.
- Kinjal (8/5): Very good -

- Philippa (8/5): Nice resort, glad we stayed will not be returning. Tips: We found the Pyramids of Chi in Ubud through recommendation a - Soulshine Bali sits in a lovely setting, and promotes well being through its ethos. There is a warm welcome waiting for you. The many staff (staff ratio to the guests when we were staying was high, in anticipation of high season I expect) are always nearby just waiting to help. The rooms are lovely and the sleep quality is good. The sound healing class we booked privately for us 4 was lovely and very apt to us. The food is very good, and the breakfast plentiful. We were a private family group of 4, and felt the resort is better suited and geared up to groups attending their own yoga retreat, and so can access more classes/activities which the resort tailors and arranges for groups. Available daily, as standard, to all resort guests was just one morning yoga class, for a yoga retreat we felt was disappointing. Also as a sound and wellness resort, although guitars and record players in each room is a nice gimmick, our guitar wasn’t tuned, and there were no guitar picks available (we did ask). Also as seasoned travellers we know to sign for our bar bill regularly, but felt the need to make sure we were signing constantly, and the speed we were asked to pay for an extra breakfast for a visiting guest was unnerving and installed an element of mistrust. Sadly as we paid in advance we were unable to get a refund of an our last night when our travel plans changed even though this was before our arrival.
All in all I would recommend the resort, we were glad we went but we would not return.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yepadoob (5/5): Nice but not great - Pool and Gardens Bathroom and shower
Hot water failed consistently
Power loss overnight
- Anne (6/5): - I was very disappointed with the garden room! Way overpriced and did not look like the picture. No where to sit in or outside the room apart from the bed. Had a problem the first night in the roof but staff acted on it swiftly. The surrounding areas however were very attractive and well maintained. The food excellent quality and spa treatments good. All of the staff very well trained and pleasant. As it is outside central Ubud you are pretty much stuck in the resort unless you request transportation. It is a 30 minute walk but the roads are not pedestrian friendly.
- Karim (8/5): Very good -
- Jillian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yuping (10/5): The crew really make you feel you are home. Everything is so nicely done. Food was excellent, I already thinking when I - The Aesthetic of everything is outstanding. Impressed by their attention to details. Calming but lively. Zero, I’m very happy during my stay here.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Everything - what a welcome with cocktails made in your room. The music - great vibes all around.
We had researched sooo many places in Ubud - this was our favourite and it exceeded our high expectations. What a beautiful place. Thank you to all of the staff.
- Liliia (10/5): Exceptional - This is an unbeatable hotel. Very tasty breakfasts and food with a beautiful view. Very friendly staff. Cool yoga in the morning. Quiet hotel and very good for the soul
- Hill (8/5): Very good - There were two Amazing Pools, and the bed in the garden room was one of the most comfy beds I’ve ever slept in. Overall beautiful property The staff would speak a bit robot like, as if they were forced to, it also had lots of references to the owner (Michael Franti) which were a bit weird. It is perfect if you have lots of money and want to not leave the property for your stay.
- Myradh (10/5): Exceptionally welcoming, beautiful, relaxing spot. Couldn’t have asked for more. The team at Soulshine are exceptionally - The most stunning location, exceptional facilities and world class staff. Everyone at Soulshine goes out of their way for any request, to share a warm hello and make your stay as wonderful as possible. A wonderful oasis in Ubud, would highly recommend.
- Shaun (9/5): very relaxing stay over Christmas. - Stayed in the new suite building. rooms are beautiful and so are the views. Staff are great, food delicious, spa lovely and the free morning yoga classes are a great standard for a free class. will recommend and return. its outside of Ubud town and not much around that you can walk to. OK for us over three days and we were there to relax. Which was very easy to do at such a beautiful place.
- Leah (8/5): Enjoyable - Yoga facilities The service staff at the restaurant are not attentive. There are many of them. They rarely checked back to see if you needed anything else.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
