Guest Reviews
- Natalie (6/5): Good location - Nice central location Host wasn’t very friendly or welcoming. Cabin was quite hot. Towels in the bathroom were dirty.
- Richey (4/5): Disappointing - The location was good as everything was within walking distance. the construct of the building meant it was hot all the time. The only hot water was when it was heated by the sun. There was only one fan which was insufficient for two beds in different rooms.
- Zac (10/5): Exceptional - Epic spot, cute little cabana all to ourselves. Highly recommend.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - Convenient location and comfortable accommodations
- Cox (7/5): A long time ago it’s always a good location -
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Christian (4/5): Disappointing - too expensive
- Melanie (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lemuel (9/5): Superb -
- James (8/5): Good value cabana in a prime location in the Village. - Location, cleanliness and good value were the high points for Carol's Cabanas. Internet was spotty, constantly dropping while connected. Very weak signal was always an issue.
- Hugh (3/5): Poor -
- Rory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (7/5): Good - Great location Extremely uncomfortable bed in the first bedroom
- Danna (8/5): All 4 of us were pleased with Carol's Cabanas. With the low price we were offered, we would gladly return. - Really great value to stay in a clean and spacious accommodation in the heart of Placencia. The exact location of our unit was on the street, but it wasn't too noisy.
- Marcus (9/5): Excellent location. Clean and comfortable apartment. - location was great. it was a 5 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and supermarket. The apartment was well equipped with stove, fridge and toaster oven. Towels, linens and bathroom toiletries were also provided. The apartment was clean and comfortable. There was a hammock on the verandah and a clothesline to hang our wet towels. etc. Although we felt safe, the locks on the doors could be better. We did not have hot water the first day as there were no instructions on how to switch it on. We did get that information the next day. It would be good to provide those instructions to persons either beforehand or leave it in the apartment.
- Katherine (9/5): Superb - WiFi was unreliable because the router was located elsewhere
- Doreetha (9/5): If one likes basic. Very comfortable. Really quite adequate . No frills. Asked to install a - The location was supreme! Katharine was on top of everything!
Anything I needed…she had withinin the hour!
Walking distance to everything! Beach, shopping, bars, restaurants ,even hardware store if you need something.
Nich’s Sport Bar was my go to. Handy, (2doors down) and offers a free shot! if KC Chiefs scores a touchdown ! The rats
- Doug (5/5): Our stay was ok . - Proximity to the beach. visibility at night. we were unable to locate the room. however, we got some assistance.
- Simon (6/5): Basic and over priced. - The property was clean. The accommodation was much more basic than shown in the photographs for the property on booking.com. I stayed in a basic wooden shed, but the photos on booking.com show a building that has plastered walls and looks of sturdier construction. The photos also show a much better interior decoration than I experienced. In the place that I stayed all the walls were of wooden construction. It is very misleading and I would say that it is mis-selling the accommodation. The wi-fi did not work most of the time which was my only contact with the outside world. There was never anyone there that I could discuss issues with. I did get a text at one point. I was without water for sometime, but I think that this affected the whole of Placencia. The hot tap water was luke warm which was okay for me. The accommodation was also very over priced for what you get. The location was also quite noisy and I was awoken many times late in the night ie between 2pm and 5pm. There was no oven or microwave as shown in the photos on booking.com. Also, the property is very near to two mobile phone antennas.
- Trevor (7/5): great location, reasonable price but not a comfortable sleep. - It was a great location. Bed broke when we went to get in bed on the 2nd night. Mattress in the other bedroom was very thin. You could feel all the springs.
- Andy (8/5): Very good -
- Cara (4/5): The place has potential, but definitely needs one new mattress and consistent water. - Liked the location and the screened-in porch. Description said it was one bedroom, but photos showed two bedrooms. It did, in fact, have two bedrooms, which was nice. Living area was decent. One bedroom had a very comfy mattress. The second bedroom had a very uncomfortable mattress, like sleeping on box springs alone. Also, we only had water in the middle of the night and just before checkout, so we were unable to shower, and we could only flush the toilet a few times. We had to use the drinking water we had brought to brush our teeth, wash dishes, etc.
- Nancee (1/5): WORST experience ever. customer service never responded to her complaints. - nothing! Let me start by saying these photos are not accurate. there are no couches in the area. We booked two separate rooms and one was filthy. Piles of sheets and dirty towels were stacked on a chair and a bag full of trash was on the floor then we were left with just one room with one full size bed for three ladies. We called customer service and they told us for two days. They would call us back and never did. Internet didn’t work. There was no hot water and no air-conditioning the doors were locked on the outside with a padlock and did not have door knobs!!! on the second day, we actually just abandon the property and went to a hotel
- Ian (5/5): Poor service in Placencia - Good central location, with fridge and desk. Large lanai with table and chairs. Fortunately, when I arrived I managed to find someone on site who showed me which was our apartment. Otherwise we would have been struggling. From then on, we were unable to find anyone to contact on site. The steps to the apartment were difficult and tricky, especially when opening the screen door at the top. The fridge was in bad condition. The main issue was that the bed had only one thin sheet on top, and when the weather turned cooler we were quite cold at night. I messaged the property management, who replied:
"Hello Ian, Thank you for contacting us and I have reached out to the property manager to get more information about your request and will get back to you as soon as I hear back. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any other questions before then."
Not helpful, and no-one ever got back to me or produced any extra bedding. The second night we used the shower curtain as an extra cover, and then our tour guide lent us a bedspread for the third night.
- Kellen (3/5): Meh. - Room was very affordable for the location. Check in was not great. We made a special request and never heard back through booking until we’ll after, so we arrived to ask for some help and we’re told to go away and come back later. The person we spoke to was not polite.
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Decolumna (7/5): It was ok, only slightly disappointing. - Location was nice, people nice also It wasn't what I would call gold.
Hot water was off for 7 days, and the shower also leaker for 7 days. I bought and left 19 hangers, there were only 2 there. Also I bought and left a can opener. Overall just a little slipshop, screens were ripped and when repaired still not exactly bug tight.
- Kristen (7/5): wonderful no frills cabin in a great location. - we like the location. the hammock, the enclosed porch. parking spot. the little ants everywhere in the kitchen.
the whole in the floor of the bathroom.
only one blanket for colder nights.
needs better ways to communicate with owner/concierge. a request for more blankets was ignored.
- Alan (5/5): Passable -
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable - The value The stove didn’t work & thee was no covers for the beds.
- World (7/5): Good -
- Scott (8/5): Lovely, affordable accommodation - Self contained unit meant we could prepare our own meals. Balcony with insect netting was great for lazy evenings enjoyment The insect netting limits WiFi connectivity.
