- Helen (9/5): Nice comfortable & quiet room in a lovely green setting just a short walk from the center of Ganges. - The room was nice & quiet and we appreciated the mini fridge. The large common room was fantastic: games to play, books to browse, and coffee with granola bars in the morning and home baked cookies in the afternoon. The grounds outside were lovely with greenery, gardens & flowering trees. It would have been nice to say hello and thank-you to our hosts…we didn’t see them at all during our 4-night stay though we understand they have busy lives!

- V680MJpamelap (10/5): Stunning & super spectacular stay - Sweet Kitty Steve! - A stunning, beautiful, and quiet place that I really enjoyed staying at. Super close to town, a short walk by the water. Best part was Master Steve, a kitty that lives on the property, was beyond friendly and make my stay more wonderful! Definitely return to this gem for another getaway!
- Carmen (10/5): - The Wisteria Guest House was nestled amongst beautiful gardens. My studio suite was cozy and had all the amenities I needed. Heated floors in the bathroom was a nice surprise. The common lounge held books, puzzles, coffee and tea, plus homemade cookies from the owners wife. Only two minutes away from the hub of downtown Ganges but still feeling like a quiet oasis. Oh and Steve the cat is the official greeter!

- Sidney (8/5): A very lovely inn - but plan on eating ALL meals out. - What did I think of the breakfast???? What breakfast? Overall, the room itself was OK, kinda cramped but about what we expected. Bed was fine, no problem there. Bathroom and shower were also decent. The big bonus was the space where all guests could gather - it was excellent!! I loved the huge book collection - even some good science fiction books (though only about 8 or 9 of them, out of what must have been a couple thousand books). The partly finished picture puzzle was a nice touch. I quite liked the background music (classical) also. The ground were also very nice, including the big red camellia bush/tree right outside our door (see attached pic). We wanted to eat some yoghurt and berries for our breakfast, but forgot that there are absolutely no utensils at all. Tried to eat it using a coffee stirring stick, which was not very successful. I get it that you want to limit guests to just coffee/tea, but it shouldn't be a huge ask for you to put out some inexpensive (plastic is fine) utensils also, for folks who want to bring in a bit of food for themselves.
- 178dalew (10/5): A great hidden gem - The best place to stay on Salt Spring! The atmosphere is very welcoming and we were made to feel like family. We stay at Wisteria whenever we are on the island and the location is excellent. It is a short walk to downtown Ganges and the location is quiet with beautiful gardens. I highly recommend.

- Jamie (8/5): - Super cute and well-appointed accommodations. Rooms have all the basic necessities, but the shared space has tons of books, puzzles, and items to peruse - a very charming spot! Loved that there's water (hot and cold), tea, coffee, etc available. Beds are softer than we'd like (personal preference), and I guess you could say there isn't much sound insulation between rooms. The guests there at the time were all great, but just something to note. Our bathroom had little ants. Nothing too intrusive, but they're there. Len set out some traps, but it'll take time at this time of year.
- Mark (9/5): - This was our second stay. The place is homey, quiet, clean and has such a relaxing vibe. Love the main room with its walls of books, comfy seating, quiet music, tea and coffee bar and homemade cookies - the perfect place to read and relax in the afternoon (affectionate visits from Steve the Cat add to the ambience!) The absence of TVs, pools, gyms, ice machines, etc., is exactly why we like it here. The location is perfect - walking distance from Ganges. We will be back - again!
- Balanophora (2/5): Book at your peril - Issues with reservation system. Never received a booking confirmation or any other email communication so booked another hotel. Charged for stay nonetheless. Dismissive response when I contacted them. They were completely unwilling to consider the error was on their side. I looked up the booking system they use and it lists numerous ways in which errors occur on the part of the hotel or booking system. So much for working with the customer to resolve a problem.

- wendywK9185JT (10/5): The Perfect Saltspring Stay…. - A perfect B & B find on Saltspring Island! Every detail was taken care of — and very clean! We enjoyed the ‘common area’ with a coffee/tea bar looking out to the garden - lovely even in the torrential rain. The Country theme of collectables was charming. We were greeted when we arrived which was really thoughtful. Walkable to Ganges Village and restaurants. We will book Wisteria again and definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

- Evelyn (9/5): Exceeded my expectations which were high. Lovely spot and would love to stay again. - No breakfast offered but close to a great grocery store to stock up. We put the fridge to good use. We were there without a car but were able to get around on foot and by bus. Len, the owner, was very nice and helpful. The premises were gorgeous and the room was very comfortable. One and only criticism were the signs. One at the entrance saying not to bother coming before book in time without prior communication. We did arrive about an hour early and were prepared to sit and wait but we were greeted right away and shown to our room (a pleasant surprise). Also, we knew that no dishes or cutlery were provided but there was a terse sign reminding guests of this. Such a friendly place except for those 2 signs.

The large family room was filled with books with a delightful day long coffee and tea service. The hosts went out of their way to welcome guests and make them feel like their stay was with friends from all around the world. Some of the rooms had only double beds with might be a concern for couples who need more bed space.

The rooms are comfortable and the large common room is lovely and inviting, but it's our hosts who make our stay so welcoming. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Like the rest of the property, the cottage was characterfully furnished with homely features. We loved the quirky but classy features of the whole setting, with interesting books, art and other artefacts. It was just a ten minute walk into Ganges and very close to a supermarket. We’d recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Ganges.

- Lewis (10/5): Magical stay at homely and beautiful guest house! - We had an incredibly memorable and pleasant stay at Wisteria Guest house whilst visiting Salt Spring Island. The host Len was extremely accommodating throughout our stay, and responded immediately to any queries we had. The property itself is beautiful, expertly decorated with stunning artwork and beautiful furniture. Free homemade cookies were an extra tasty bonus! The rooms are very clean and spacious, we even had a mini fridge. The guest house is about a 15 minute walk into town so it is best to have a car to explore more that the island has to offer. But does mean it is perfectly relaxing and quiet place to rest. Our only complaint was that our stay was so short! If we ever returns to salt spring island, we will absolutely be staying at Wisteria Guest House. Also Steve the cat is cute. None whatsoever!
- Ken (8/5): Pleasant and comfortable. - Location very handy. Quirky charm. Len very friendly host. Kitchen area of studio was tight for space. Lack of a toaster in room wasn’t great given that no alternative for breakfast. Bit pricey compared with other similar accommodation.

I also liked their cat, Steve, who was very friendly. It was kind of expensive for what it was (a room with a private bathroom). I wish there was a sink in the coffee station area.

Nice welcoming touch having the cookies and home grown fruit on offer along with tea and coffee making facilities in the spacious lounge. Thoughtful decor... homely but tasteful. Peaceful garden surroundings. I didn't miss cooking facilities, but would have liked at least a toaster to be available. Nice to have tea and toast before setting out on the day's adventures.

- Sea2Sea (10/5): - Wisteria Guest House is simply perfect for a visit to Salt Springs Island. Cosy, interesting decor, your every need attended to, and genuine warmth from the owners, who have really interesting backstories and will supply you with far too many delicious chocolate chip cookies. Canadians stay there, too, and we met a half dozen smart, thoughtful people in the lounge in the evenings. You can be as private or as social as you wish. Our rooms had wonderful little decks, and there is a backyard with ample patio furniture for relaxation. The house is 0.6 miles from the center of town, and that brief walk is just right for being close to town, but out of the fray. Ganges has many interesting shops and restaurants, and the island offers beautiful hikes and vistas. I would definitely stay here again!

- Jovana (9/5): Lovely and relaxing - The location is within easy walking distance to stores, restaurants and the Ganges village centre. The garden and outside sitting spaces are gorgeous. The common lounge with coffee and cookies is large and beautifully appointed, with a unique style and homey feeling. Parking space is available on the property for all guests. Some rooms in the main house don't have windows - only a door to the patio and garden. We felt safe enough and kept the door open overnight.

Enjoyed the backyard seating under the trees. Nice little walk to town. Ceiling fan was so helpful during the hot summer days and evenings.
- davidrK9463EZ (10/5): A quiet, beautiful guest house on Salt Spring Island. - We were delighted to stay in the cottage at the Wisteria Guest House. We arrived before the reception was open and Len kindly left the door open for us. The cottage was beautifully decorated and cosy and the gardens are beautiful. It is close to the busy Ganges area but far enough away to be quiet and feel private. We would highly recommend this Guest House.
- Markobrown (10/5): Perfect home west from home while exploring Salt Springs Island - First time on Salt Springs Island and this Inn was perfect place to stay. The Inn includes a number private rooms in the main building and access to a beautiful shared living space that includes hundreds of books to choose from. And the grounds are really beautiful. You’re about a 15 minute walk from the heart of the island, the town of Ganges where you can find a multitude of stores and restaurants. The accommodations here are varied so be careful in picking your room. We were in room 5 which had his own small little outdoor terrace area, which we enjoyed very much.I strongly recommend getting a room that has its own small outside sitting area. It really enhances your accommodation. And it’s nice to be able to open the door and fill your room with fresh air. The rooms are nice sized. You can check out my photos. There are also cabins here, but we aren’t staying in one so I don’t know what they’re like. One thing to keep in mind is if you plan to have breakfast in the common area in the morning, like us, you’ll have to bring everything including your plates and silverware and any utensils you might need to cut anything. The only thing they provide in the common area is coffee and hot water for tea. Our room had a small refrigerator, which was perfect. Great wi-fi and the Inn co-owner was very pleasant and helpful. This is a great place to stay on Salt Springs Island.
- 551sigride (10/5): Excellent Stay - We had a great stay, the place exceeded our expectations. We stayed in one of the studios, a cozy room with kitchenette and bathroom, and an outside sitting area. The garden leading up to and surrounding the Wisteria Guest House is stunning.
- 496marionr (10/5): Fabulous guest house stay - We had a lovely couple of nights here attending a wedding. The hosts are very friendly and helpful on arrival and with any queries. Refreshments and cookies on arrival, nicely decorated, clean room and common area as well as pleasant outside space. Would happily stay again!
