• Johanna (8/5): Die Tour war großartig!! Wer allerdings nicht so Lust auf viele junge Leute und Party hat, ist hier eher falsch. - Die Tour an sich, die Fahrer und die Organisation war super!! 10/10. Auch ist das Hostel sehr social und gut, um schnell Anschluss zu finden. Die Betten waren katastrophal, wobei ich auch dazu sagen muss, dass wir ein ein anderes Gebäude verfrachtet wurden, weil das Hostel überfüllt war. Von daher kann ich nicht sagen, wie die Betten im eigentlichen Hostel sind.
• CHAN WOO (1/5): - 방은 전반적으로 깨끗했습니다. 하지만 방 안이 너무 습해서 찝찝했습니다. 투숙 인원에 비해 샤워실과 화장실 수가 부족했습니다. 특히 아침과 저녁 시간에는 기다려야 했습니다. 조식은 맛이 없었습니다. 하장 루프 투어를 갈 계획이라면, 이 숙소는 절대 미리 예약하지 마세요. 루프 투어를 신청하면 어차피 무료 숙박을 제공하는 경우가 많아서, 미리 돈을 낼 필요가 없습니다. 저는 이를 몰라서 실수로 예약을 했습니다. 하지만 환불 관련해서 숙소는 아무런 도움도 주지 않았습니다. 결국 돈만 가져가려고 하는 느낌이었습니다.

One of the cleanest places we stayed and the staff were all lovely. It was very full and busy especially as the groups departure for the loop. Wouldn’t recommend if you aren’t doing the ha Giang loop

• Greg (6/5): Pleasant - Amazing scenery and a great team of drivers. We drove far too fast through many of the small villages, and you could see the locals didn't appreciate it at all. I certainly can't blame them. The only other downside is that some of the hostels had only a single bathroom for rooms with 10 guests.
• Leni (10/5): I highly recommend staying here and booking the tour with Bong Hostel. I’ve observed several groups returning over the l - Bong Hostel was AMAZING!! Booked the Ha Giang loop with them, the bike was comfortable and the driver was super nice, however I got injured within the first hour (no one‘s fault, especially not the driver‘s!) and so I had to go back to the hospital and recover for a few days at the hostel. The owner, all the staff and volunteers were so incredibly nice, attentive and helpful regarding everything and the atmosphere was just great. They organised my bus to Hanoi, checked up on me every day and really made me feel part of the family. The free breakfast at the hostel is great, it includes coffee/ tea, loads of fresh fruit and a pancake/ waffle/ baguette with eggs. The facilities were cleaned every single day. The beds were comfortable, had curtains, a socket, a light and real bedding! The children running around were so cute as well, giving the whole place a homely atmosphere.

• Jessica (9/5): Great hostel option! - Great budget/hostel option! I just stayed at the hostel, and didn't do the Ha Giang loop with Bong. Dorms were clean and quiet, and there's lockers for full backpacks. Beds had curtains and individual lights. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly and showers had lots of hooks. I didn't eat dinner here, but the free breakfast was good. Coffee and abundant fruit, with options of pancakes, waffles, or bread with eggs available. Vegan options is fruit and french bread roll. Staff very friendly and helpful, and can help with booking other tours and transportation. There are social areas to meet others, though most people only stay a night before/after doing the Ha Giang loop. Located within the city, so lots of food options within walking distance. 30 minutes walk to the cafe on the mountain. Dorms could use a deep clean for dust in the corners, but this did not impact my stay, and is pretty typical of hostels in Vietnam.

They really care about each and every guest unlike other hostel groups offering this tour. Big shout out to our group leader Kevin who is just amazing at what he does - he really deserves all the respect and thanks for keeping us safe all weekend and looking out for us! • Lori (10/5): If you’re unsure who to pick for your Ha Gaing loop tour, CHOOSE BONG!!!!! - This hostel and their Ha Gaing loop tour is the BEST in the whole area. Firstly, the hostel was super clean, the beds comfy and we were greeted by the reception staff (massive shoutout to Poppy!!!!) who welcomed us to our room and answered any questions we had about the tour the following day. We were provided with fresh towels and advised we could use the storage lockers for free for the duration of the tour. As for the tour itself… I have nothing to say other than WOW!!! Thomas the leader and Jung my easyrider were the most fantastic people and made my experience safe, fun and memorable. All of the homestays that we stayed at were above my expectations, the food served at breakfast lunch and dinner (were always the same) BUT always made fresh and super tasty. We were advised that a tour group leaves daily and can be anything from 20-35 people per group which means that the groups are always big enough to book out a homestay to themselves, which is so much fun as you really get to know the people you’re driving with each day and can make lots of friends. Please don’t forget to tip your driver if you have an easyrider,or your leader if you a self driver If you’re trying to decide who to book your tour with, CHOOSE BONG!!!! Everything was amazing :)

• Freepalestine (7/5): Good - The tour was great, the drivers where all extremely fun and out going. Super friendly and really good at making you smile. Loved the homestay organised by the place. The food is the same everyday but I think that's the same with every ha giang tour. I got recommended to eat at a restaurant by the reception staff and ended up with food poisoning. I also ordered a veggie burger and it was just coleslaw in a bun.. which gave me a very bad stomach. Would not recommend eating the hostel food. Plus a few of the volunteers were very rude speaking about people in foreign languages. But I would recommend the tour with them I just wouldn't stay at the hostel again.

• Erin (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing ha giang loop tour. Very well organised and very professional, all provided with waterproofs throughout the 4 day trip at no extra cost. Such a fun experience despite some foggy weather , the easy riders were so safe and cautious. Homestay were nice throughout the loop and plenty of happy water provided. Special mention to easy rider Hwee - not sure how to spell his name , but he was amazing! Would definitely recommend
• Tessa (5/5): Passable - Breakfast was good and personnel was friendly. Honestly didn’t like my stay here. There was only cold water in the shower (also after they “fixed” it), you have to pass the bar to the bathroom which didn’t feel super comfortable, showers were really dirty. In the room the airconditioning wasn’t working while we were with 20 people in one dorm, the room didn’t smell very nice. People in my room started a casual conversation with the light on at 04;00 in the morning (although I do not blame the hostel for that).

It was an incredible experience, my easy rider was very competent and kind, and our guide had many cool suggestions for less touristy routes and experiences. Strongly recommend this place! No complaints.

There are loads of other tour companies who have really large groups but bong is a little smaller and that means the experience is better. The homestays along the ride were great and the food was super tasty. Also be prepared karaoke and happy water each night. Might be carrying a bit of a hangover...

• Martin (10/5): The best ha giang loop tour!! - Bong hostel put on an amazing tour of the ha giang loop. Our tour guide Kevin was brilliant and my easy rider was a legend! I felt safe at all times even through the dodgy roads and love sharing happy water with the whole group in the evenings. I had done the ha giang loop before with another hostel which had around 60 people but with bong the tours are maximum 15 people and I found this 10x better. Would highly recommend booking your ha giang loop tour with bong Nothing

• Corinne (7/5): Good - The owner, Bong, was very kind and helpful. And buying bus and transportation tickets are cheaper through here than through 12go. The breakfast was great, and the guides/drivers on the tour were fantastic (shout out to Cho and Nam). I did the 3 day tour and the 3rd day was by far my favorite. The homestay for the first night was wonderful. I liked that the tour through Bong was not crazy party-focused like most of the other groups we crossed paths with were. Rooms in this hostel were pretty warm, food was very expensive compared to everywhere else I've eaten in Vietnam (though the area around the hostel also seems to be more expensive than is typical, too). If I could do the tour again, I would have driven myself or done the private guided tour. The roads were nowhere near as difficult as other travelers made them out to be, and being in the group was nice but we did not go to as many of the stops as the solo/private drivers that went with us through Bong did. The second day's lunch was really bad-cold and the meat did but taste right and I was sick that night. The 2nd night's homestay was a bit disappointing, but the dinner was delicious. Only one of the showers was usable and there was no hot water, and no soap or sinks. Overall, I feel like the tour was a bit too expensive, but I did very much enjoy the experience and our drivers made it a great time.

The hostel let us check in late at night after our bus, which was great. The hostel itself is really clean and comfy, breakfast was good and the staff are lovely and so helpful. The tour was amazing! Our guide and all of the drivers were so kind, so funny and great to spend time with. My boyfriend drove the bike with me on the back and we felt very safe at all times, the drivers and guide were able to help us whenever we needed and give us lots of advice. We went in a group of 11, which was a great size. It was really flexible and we were able to really get to know everyone. The home stays were lovely, really clean and comfy. Food was good too! Cannot recommend doing this tour with Bong enough, thank you so much!!

The hostel is in a good location close to the main attractions in Ha Giang and lots of places to grab food nearby. The food was good at the hostel as well. The tour - Booked an easy rider. I was the only one! It was an amazing experience. Ann planned it so much met other groups from the hostels in the evening. My driver was super safe and spoke very good English. I would definitely recommend Bong for doing the loop. The hostel was a little empty when I stayed but that cannot be controlled!

• Shanghaman (10/5): Super supportive and helpful staff. - I did the 4 day look recently, crashed on second day but the staff were super helpful. Carried me around and took me to pharmacy as-well. I managed to finish the rest of the loop with an easy rider (Diep), who was a legend helped me everywhere while I was limping. Would deffo recommend them. You can choose to try the motor bike before deciding to do a self drive or easy rider, depending on your confidence ( just a little tip if you self drive don’t brake with the front when going downhill on the corners). They can also do laundry for you which was super helpful.

• Pc (10/5): An intense tour being organised by experts - Loved every bit of it - Everything - Right from helping me organise the night bus from my Hanoi hostel through to completing the Ha Giang Loop with their expert guide/easy rider; everything was spot on. I came into this trip solo with a high expectation given the hype around the loop and it was every bit worth it. The hostel management ensured that my group and I had an expert guide / easy rider who was friendly, knowledgeable and experienced and ensured we made the most of each of the 4 days that we were around the loop. Despite being an organised tour it did not feel like it and the rider was so good that we immediately bonded and rode as one group at our own pace. All safety measures were taken care of before and during the tour and we got to select from a great collection of semi-automatics and manuals. They also provided an option to be ridden by one of their experienced riders if one isn't very confident with the two wheelers given that the loop does get tricky at times. My group had two of us riding on our own and the rest being ridden by the easy riders. Captured some great moments, made some great memories and had a blast as each night we stayed at either a friendly homestay or at a lovely hostel during the tour. Food and drinks - good too. On return - the staff and the management was again very helpful and supportive prior to the checkout allowing time to cool down, shower up and even organise transport for other cities or back to Hanoi in my case. Highly recommended - will definitely return for a repeat because I won't be able to articulate in words the exception this tour is. Thanks again for organising this for us, keeping us safe, helping us extract the maximum out of the 4 days and have a lot of fun in the process as well. Nothing in particular - most things exceeded expectations

But what is most important was the Tour that they offered which was unreal. Words can’t describe it but this wouldn’t of been the case without our great tour guides: Mike, Bao and nam. They ensured we took the best routes and went to the best locations, some of which weren’t full of tourists! We stayed in amazing home stays and ate great food which made the experience so much better. I highly recommend staying with Bong hostel if you want to have a great experience. nothing

Slightly more expensive than other hostels around, the difference is really worth it. Unless you are an experienced driver or don't care about huge annoying tourists groups, this is your hostel. Staff were extremely helpful, provinding tips, good advice, back-yard practice, protections, quality bikes, a good shower at the end... I would recommended it to everyone, specially self riders.

The only thing I found really annoying: When people arrive with the night bus and need to check-in. Really loud of course around 4am. Maybe try to put all these people together in one dorm and the one’s arriving earlier in the other one if that’s somehow doable. :)
