Guest Reviews
- oie (10/5): -
- Jeanette (8/5): Great location and value. - Location, convenient as it is near the public baths for onsen hopping. The dinner (crab and Tajima beef) on two separate nights were excellent. Highly recommend for the dinner Onsen facilities within the property is not great
- Miyazaki (6/5): -
- James (9/5): - Everything. It was very nice, staff was pleasant, location was amazing. No shower in room, not necessarily an issue in an Onsen town but my wife wanted to wash her hair and we had to go to an onsen to do so. They do have a shared onsen on site, but it would have been nice to have the option.
- Imakura (8/5): - A young lady who helped was really nice. She cared about customers. She helped carry our luggage when we had to go down the stairs. She was awfully nice. There was nothing to dislike. It met our purposes.
- Shira (3/5): Would not go again - Not much Rooms were very musty and yukata in the cupboard had an old musty smell
Beds were extremely uncomfortable
Manager not friendly at all
- Diane (8/5): - Our room was spacious. Furniture wasn’t very comfortable. We would have appreciated more written information in English. Staff were not especially warm. The bath in the facility was great.
- Dexter (5/5): -
- Lisa (5/5): Very humid room - - Perfectly located in walking distance to all onsens
- Onsen pass was included
- Nice small onsen inside the hotel
- Women could choose a different colored yukata every day - Room was very humid with dehumidifyer up and running
- The hotel is quite old and is need of a renovation
- we couldn‘t leave our luggage after check-out with the hotel, so our onsen pass went to waste, as it‘s valid until 1 pm on departure day
- Matthew (10/5): -

- Jeffrey (10/5): - The staff was very kind and accommodating, the traditional style room was beautiful next to the mountains and very comfortable.
- Jennifer (10/5): Lovely hotel that sets the vibe for Onsen hopping. - Beautiful hotel overlooking the town. Huge room with comfortable traditional tatami bed. Friendly staff. Yukata are provided to wear outside as you walk from Onsen to Onsen…great experience! Easy short stroll down the hill to Main Street. Private bath in the basement level. Will definitely stay there again!
- Steven (10/5): - Staff went above and beyond every step of the way. Kind and polite. The staff didn't speak much English but with the use of translators and visual explanations it went very smoothly.
- Vicente (8/5): Very good -
- Makiko (8/5): Nice and comfortable stay - Friendly staff and nice room. Onsen was very enjoyable. Location was a bit hard to reach. It was raining hard when we arrived and there was no taxi in sight. It is certainly within walking distance on a dry day, but not in pouring rain, with big luggage!
- Kuan (9/5): Superb -
- May (9/5): Good value fir money - The ryokan is located on a side street away from the river, so it was very quiet. Dinner was served at 5:30 pm which was a bit too early.
- Jia (9/5): Superb experience! Would return - Really loved the elaborate breakfast! It was our first time staying in a ryokan. There were name plates outside each breakfast room, and we wore our yukatas there. Paid 450yen tax for the onsen pass! Yukatas for the males were ready in the room. I could choose my own flower yukata :) Only inconvenience was that there was no shower in the room. Had to go down to the communal bath in the basement. Wore the wooden slippers out to the baths and they were uncomfortable.
- Carla (7/5): An excellent stay in a very comfortable large room with a sitting area and a fridge - the experience of going out in our - The room was big for our family of three and the service was excellent, despite the staff not speaking English, they had a handy translator gadget that made communication easy. There is no shower as Kinosaki is an onsen town where everyone goes out to bathe. There was a misunderstanding about the breakfast service (perhaps on our part) and we were unaware that the inclusive breakfast at 7:30am was prepared for us in a private room, and it was a very elaborate traditional Japanese breakfast. We were late getting up and may have offended the staff member who prepared it for us. Foreigners should probably be made more aware of the custom and preparations/timing for breakfast.
- Nicole (8/5): Beautiful town, quiet and clean accomodation with its own onsen! - It had its own onsen which was great and a very elaborate Japanese breakfast included. The location was good - close to everything. The staff didn’t speak any English and there was limited information at check in. We didn’t realise the breakfast was full service and just for us in a private room - we assumed it was a simple buffet.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Calum (8/5): - The property is a real gem. A bit dated but don't let that put you off. Great location, amazing traditional breakfast, great little public bath and super nice staff. Just remember to take your shoes off before entering.
- Mazzoli (7/5): Location was very good - Staff was very kind and willing to help, making themselves available for everything It needs to be renovated
- Wei (8/5): - Located very close to other Onsens in a small town. Room is large and comfortable. WIFI is excellent
- Cindy (8/5): Good and comfortable, nice staff - Location is great, only 10 minutes walks to the spas
- Malou (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff Bit pricy
- Penny (8/5): Lovely stay. - Easy access to town and onsens We would have stayed an extra day, but the hotel was closed on a Thursday
- Sam (10/5): nice location - a large and clean room with very comforable beds and wifi. well located with 7 hot springs in 1 ticket. good hotel
- Chattarin (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Shun Fat (10/5): - The services are excellent
- Yoshi (9/5): Superb -
- Jing (10/5): Love the place, highly recommended - Great location, about 5 minutes walk from the station and in the centre of the town. The place has its own onsen which is a bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious.
- Svetlana (10/5): Convenient location, clean rooms - We really liked this place. We booked it for 2 nights. One night we stayed in a European style room, the second night in a Japanese style room (couldn’t stay 2 nights in one room, as they were all booked out).
We loved both rooms! Super clean and comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient. 8 min walk to the train station.
Overall we had a great time in Kinosaki Onsen! Thank you! ——

- Om (7/5): Stressed, inflexible, well equipped and clean - The rooms are clean, quiet and spacious. Communicating in English is very difficult. The reception felt very stressful, like walking into a sacred place. Staff have very little flexibility for differences between international tourists. The stairs to go up are quite steep and not convenient for large suitcases. The rooms are clean and beautiful like in the pictures, but there are no bathrooms in the rooms, you have to take a shower in the shared bathroom. We checked in in the early evening, I was charged for parking even though I reserved a total of 5 rooms and the parking lot was very dark. When we checked out, the staff hurried to check out the room we were staying in. There wasn't a single employee to say goodbye to help manage the suitcases.
- Weerapan (10/5): We had a room with great village view . - Comfortable and clean Front entrance with steps, inconvenience for heavy luggage.
- Eriko (10/5): Exceptional -

- Heidi (10/5): Great stay - Great stay in kinosaki onsen area. Great facilities and right in the middle of all the onsen.. we loved exploring the area (it's amazing from sunset to midnight to do onsen hopping, explorations and taking photos.. or just enjoying the scenery)
Definitely recommended
Great service, spacious room. Could not find the location in Google map but booking.com map works much better and accurate
- Honman (8/5): Very good - Room is clean ,spacious and tidy.
Breakfast is good.
Free parking and good location. Hard to communicate with the staffs in English.
- Sammie (9/5): Superb -

- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - They allowed us to checkin early when we arrived at 12:30pm, which was amazing to put down our luggage.
- Bernhard (9/5): peaceful and pleasant stay in kionsakionsen - had the Japanese style accommodations on top floor. very spacious and comfortable. very quiet but central location in close proximity of various onsen and restaurants. the onsen in-house is attractive and private. staff very attentive and helpful. a very enjoyful stay at first we were given a western style room, but it was smelling of smoke. After complaining, we were accommodated in the Japanese style top floor. very happy with change and attention of staff
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - hidden gem in Kinosaki. it’s a relatively new establishment from the other older traditional ryokans. i recommend staying for 2 nights to fully enjoy all the facilities they have to offer. breakfast in the hotel is enjoyable as it’s traditional japanese. the rooms are big though the common bath is a little small. there is no bath in the rooms though the general idea is to enjoy the baths in the town. great place for family.
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Its rather plain facility. Clean and kind staff, but facility itself is a concrete building. If wanting an authentic japanese experience, not recommended. But otherwise nice friendly staff with good food
