- Megan (4/5): - Rooms are tiny, we had to upgrade to be able to fit our suitcase on the floor! Photos online are stretched dramatically! We also ended up covered in bites which we now believe to be bed bugs. We’ve never experienced this in any hotel before but the three of us are cover in bites all over our legs. There’s no way to prove it’s bed bugs and not mosquitoes, but we haven’t experienced this at any other location during our three week stay across Japan and would wake up itching in the night.

We also stored bags with the hotel staff on check out which was a great help until our Shinkansen left. The hotel is very centrally located and everything you need is in walking distance as well as having a Metro station right out front of the hotel.

Initially we thought the French restaurant on the first floor was a bummer (we didn't go to Kyoto to eat French) but it turned out to be a blessing when we couldn't find a table at any restaurant around on a busy Saturday night. The food was absolutely fantastic, a meal worth $100 or more in the US for less than 30 bucks. Try the alcohol-free cocktails, they are delicious!

- Beth E (8/5): - Our bathroom had a strong smell, we poured water down tub and seemed to help a bit. Tired and wanted to sleep so let it go as checking out in am. Pleasant checkin staff. Breakfast seemed rushed and no checking back for coffee, water etc.

- Jessica Chan (8/5): - We came to Kyoto for the Gion festival and this hotel cannot be more convenient as it's right on Shijo where the festival is. Despite the hustle and bustle outside, (imagine the whole streets were packed with people with food stalls running on both sides of the street) we couldn't hear a noise from our room. The staff was very helpful and polite as well. Room is clean and good size. I would stay here when I return.

- Manoj (10/5): Very nice hotel and convenient location. - We had two good sized very comfortable beds. The size of the room is small, but it did accommodate two adults and a child easily. The shower is awesome and the toilet is a Toto washlet with heated seats and automatic flush. The hotel is very conveniently located near metro stops and shopping areas. Short walk to nishiki market. The hotel staff were very professional, they made reservations at the restaurant for us. We will definitely consider Royal park hotel on our next stay.

I think of all they rooms, it was the most comfortable in size, the bathroom was spacious. I would difinately recommend. ps. Im in Tokyo today, although not staying at the Royal Park, there is one around the corner and it has a very nice bar in the lobby. Very comfortable, I met nice people.

Breakfast is choice from 4 set choices, 3 western and 1 Japanese, plus buffet for breads, and cheeses. Would definitely stay again as away from the overcrowded and touristy Gion.
- Armand (10/5): Wonderful service indeed! - Wonderful experience with the staffs and services , I wasn’t pleased with the first room they assigned but the staff that day, Mr. Mizuno, took me to view another room then he tried again to get us the perfect room for us we liked a lot ... I honestly didn’t expected that kind of service at all as I understood that a frost windows happen a lot in japan hotel while some of them located in the city with taller buildings surrounding with lower privacy so that’s y they have frosted windows instead ... but the team of staff that day so surprised me by showing me two rooms for me to choose ... thanks to you Mr. Mizuno on 27/10/19 for us to have a wonderful stay in Kyoto ... a wonderful hotel with team of great staff indeed !

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room: new and clean. Front desk and concierge: really friendly, polite and professional and helpful. Location: near shijo station. Convenient. The only bad experience is the housekeeping. We stayed 4 nights and asked housekeeping only once. The housekeeper left my cloth and pants on my luggage(which was laid down to the ground with clearly dirty outside)during changing the sheets. It's a common sense not to put customers‘ clothings on a dirty surface during or after the room cleaning. It's really uncomfortable for us!

I had little interaction with the staff but that was because there was no reason for it as everything was going well. When I did interact, they were accommodating and friendly. Big plus was a laundry room for guests to use (at a small cost). Would stay there again and would recommend to family, friends and business travelers.
