Guest Reviews
- Alka (8/5): -
- Jim (8/5): - Friendly staff.
- Joanne (7/5): - The food was lovely as usual.
Nice to be able to gwt out and have a walk out. The mattress and pillows on the bed were so uncomfortable.
- Nikki (7/5): Distinctly average - Convenient Room had broken lamp with plug stuck in socket
Rubbish found behind the bed
Food was poor. Mass produced and constant usage of left overs. What was labelled vegetable paella was savoury rice with peas. Flavourless. Cakes were dry.
Juice watered down. Flies on the salad.
- TerriB85 (8/5): -
- Aly Grrenway (8/5): -
- Sheila (10/5): Stay for a church conferance - The room was nice and cosy, bed linen and towels were smelling fresh and clean
The bed very comfy,l will definitely recommend
The food was fresh and tasty, lots of variety...l was spoilt for choice
- Steven (7/5): -
- Tony (7/5): -
- Khan (10/5): Nice, comfortable. - Nice clean room with all the facilities I waited. Travelling to the place.
- Ami (7/5): -
- John (8/5): Great staff, convenient for a conference but let down by odour in room. - Friendly staff and paired with the conference centre to very convenient The room had an ammonia smell
- Kirsty (3/5): Bearable for one night - Nice staff. Plenty of parking. Run down buildings. Restaurant is not a restaurant it’s a canteen. Very short time span to get your food. Dinner and breakfast was poor. Cold food and moldy salad bar. Breakfast juices watered down. Rooms small and run down. Mouldy silicone around shower. Unable to connect to WiFi. Phone in room doesn’t connect to reception. No hair dryer. Reception quite a walk away from rooms.
- Khai (5/5): Was ok but underwhelming and abit overpriced. - Was confusing trying to find my room at first then the key card didn’t work so had to walk all the way back to reception for a new one/ activation. The Bed was uncomfortable because it moves too much, Room was much smaller than I anticipated.
- Tracey (8/5): It served a our purpose but wouldn’t stop again - We were looking for a stop over off m6 after driving all day. It did the job but wouldn’t go back Bedroom small dated and stains on sheets although we didn’t complain because we think it was permanent stains however they shouldn’t be used if that’s the case
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Michelle (6/5): -
- Nikki (6/5): Disappointed - Set out well for everything needed
Cakes nice So hot everywhere. Radiators up full blast day and night
Food was poor. Often cold and clearly leftovers made into other tasteless things
Ran out of food on second night half way through dinner meaning we had to go out to a pub in order to get a full meal.
At break times most of the coffee cups were not clean.
- Simon (5/5): Ok if you have to be there… - Offers standard facilities for large group meetings/conferences. Plenty of accommodation available. My room was cold despite radiator turned up to max - no spare blanket in room. I suspect that the level of insulation in the building is poor. Decor is a bit tatty with rough and ready maintenance jobs. Food is basic - cheap ingredients and not much much choice.
- elizabeth (10/5): - food was great
- Katrina (10/5): - Pet friendly. Food was very tasty and loved the salad bar. Good vegetarian option. Room comfortable, warm and relaxing. Would live to explore the footpaths next time
- Tony (1/5): Awful stay and rubbish hotel - Free pool in the bar area, but no chalk for cues Noisey, uncomfortable, food was dreadful and had to go out to eat. Definitely not suited for a family stay. Beds were small, rooms are dated and hotel was noisy from 6am. Rooms are tiny. Very disappointed, paying £240 for 2 rooms and included food...but then driving to find a restaurant!
- Annas73 (8/5): - Ideal location for what we wanted. Staff friendly.
- Joanne (6/5): - It was easy to reach from nearby motorway. Pillows on bed are so uncomfortable.
We have been here before and the food has been excellent but the food was nowhere near as good this time, it wasn't very hot.
- Alens (9/5): -
- Sara (7/5): Handy hotel for working off site - Pretty handy if you don’t know the area. Nice setting in a park and residential area. Room clean and comfortable. Kitchen wasn’t up to standard in terms of food. But half pension was included in the room price.
- Alan (9/5): Quick overnight stop while travelling North on M6 - Good food excellent value Nothing
- Nigel (4/5): - Didn’t have breakfast
- Karen (8/5): - Great location for a group activity.
- Francesco (4/5): Stick to organising conferences - They should stick to organising conferences. Stopped off for a good night sleep on my trip from from Edinburgh to Southampton and was woken up by a fire alarm at 0730. When I asked for an explanation a rude man simply pointed out that someone had showered without closing the door and challenged why I didn’t evacuate. When I said I did and nobody else had he simply blanked me. The appropriate response should have been an apology first of all. I suppose customer service is not one of trainings delivered here. Never again!!!
- Edress (2/5): I don’t recommend staying here. - Breakfast was OK. The room didn’t have a bathtub but on my booking we booked a room with a tub. The reception didn’t bother to give us a room with a tub though I told them that we have booked a room with a tub.
Food portion was really small, really really small. I asked for a top up, the server responded “there is only one meal per person, thank you sir”. Senior staff were very rude and ot was obvious that they were kind of bullying the junior staff. Overall, the team at Yarnfield park didn’t seem to enjoy their work. It gave the guests a feeling that they are a burden.
- Tara (10/5): Perfect for solo female travellers - As a solo female traveller, I really like this hotel. It’s basic, but clean and friendly and I feel very safe.
As it is a training centre, there are lots of groups of people, but also other solo travellers. I probably wouldn’t use this hotel for a socks trip, but for work it is ideal.
Dinner and breakfast are good, it is a buffet style and included in the price. I like this a lot, as generally I will not have dinner alone, but here, it is perfectly acceptable to do so, without standing out.
The gym is adequate and never busy.
The rooms are basic, but clean and quiet, and you have everything you need.
- Helen (5/5): - Ensuite. Breakfast was included.
The kitchen staff serving food was quite unpleasant, offish, and dismissive. The bathroom which should have been cleaned still had hair in different spots. The bath curtain was dirty and should be thrown away. The kitchen staff serving food was quite unpleasant, offish, and dismissive. - Trevor (10/5): - Great good as always staff great too
- Andrew Hilliard (9/5): Will look forward to coming again. - Breakfast,Room,Dinner. The key for the room could have covered all days of stay(Thursday,Friday ,Saturday).
This could have avoided several confusions.
- Sarah (8/5): - Lovely property. I arrived late and left early so didn’t spend much time there but it had everything I needed. Breakfast options were good and the room was quiet.
Only slight gripe was that the iron in the laundry room wasn’t brilliant and took a while to iron a skirt.
- Cheryl (3/5): Won’t be going here again. - Every member of staff I came into contact with was very friendly. The food was appalling and very little choice, not as expected. Also not hot. The evening meal choice was such that we had to find a meal off site, so basically pay paid twice.
- Sabine (8/5): -
- Nikki (8/5): Good value for money and well suited for work trip - Good location
Clean
Well organised Rooms very hot. No fans and weather was hot. Windows did not open properly.
- Joanne (9/5): - The food was amazing. The staff were really nice and nothing was a problem. The rooms were just boiling!! The pillows were not great either. A fan or air conditioning in the room would make a big difference. ( I will just bring my own pillow next time).
- Mary (7/5): Yarnfield Conference Centre - Good location.
Room was tidied and coffee/tea things were replenished.
Bed was comfortable
Quiet.
Unusually, dinner was included in the Bed & Breakfast rate. It was quite a way to walk from the car park to the complex. Not easy when you have mobility issues.
Meal time hours were very short which meant I had to be up before 7:15am to be able to get breakfast and I was on holiday!
Food ok but only one veg served with dinner. It got cold very quickly.
It was quite expensive for what it was.
No hairdryer in my room.
- Jools (8/5): Very good -
- Tonja (5/5): Very clean, great breakfast and staff but poor bed and clientele who kept us awake most of night - Very clean, breakfast really good. Asked for Boiled eggs; best ever had. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Love the added touch of items for sale at reception that may have been left at home. Sleep really poor. Bed was not comfortable and clientele on same floor noisy most of the night and regularly in and out of others rooms with the doors banging till about 1.30am
- Ade (8/5): Very good - Really tired
Could do with a spruce up
- Nasir (6/5): Pleasant - attending a course so ideal location No fridge in rooms
- Stuart (9/5): Happy days - Rooms clean and comfortable bed. Good shower. Food excellent, really good choice.
Lovely quiet location. Highly recommend as very good value. Disabled and it is a bit of a walk to register at the reception and then walk to accommodation block. Lift to second floor good. Found only one large towel left but telephone to reception did not work. Decided we would manage.
- Ruben (6/5): Pleasant - Good location The rooms were a bit dated, and the bed was uncomfortable .
- Glyn (9/5): Superb -
- Pamela (9/5): Superb -
- William (7/5): Good - Staff were helpful Bed was small. Meal times rushed as there were 400 people attending a conference, counter service and serve yourself.
- Tara (10/5): Good for a business trip - Nothing bad to say, although I did struggle to find it.
Comfortable, clean, small gym, fantastic breakfast, great value.
- Paul (8/5): All good - Clean friendly atmosphere
- Mark (8/5): All in all enjoyed my stay - Everything in one location Better choice of healthy snacks
- David (7/5): Good -
- Melvyn (7/5): Great for large groups - Good venue for large groups - had a great weekend church camp with 100+ people. Plenty of parking. Rooms were modern with ensuite bathrooms, TVs, kettles etc. Free hot drink stations and plenty of places to have quiet conversations. Hearty british food! Rooms were warm. Nothing major just small things like double bed a bit small. Food a bit bland. Don't expect exclusive use of the facilites - the place is so big it is likely there will be other groups using the communal spaces.
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Sally (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Terrence (8/5): Very good - the walk from the room to the main building for meals
- Stuart (10/5): - Stayed here as i was attending a conference at the same site, and the price was great, plus it included my evening meal and breakfast. Last year i stayed at another hotel further away, and meals had to be bought off-site, so this was a much better option for me this time. Really enjoyed my time here and will be back next year.
- Matt (7/5): Good -
- Linda (4/5): 👎😩 - The surrounding areas The rooms were not clean. The carpets were not hovered. You can not even walk around the room without putting on slippers, carpets not comfortable to walk on. They need to hover carpets. Rooms are not the same as described on the website.
- Strangekiiti (6/5): Weird ambience and awful restaurant - It was a large facility and in nice open space , the parking is included in the price and the rooms are large The 'restaurant' is exactly like a school canteen, some staff aren't very welcoming, an older woman who spoke to me rudely. They rush you to get in and get out, it's simply a place to get sustenance...it's not a hotel restaurant ..you cannot sit in the restaurant to work, for example, once you've finished eating.
I wouldn't call this a hotel , it's a facility..it felt like the type of units that I work in for mental health patients..quite oppressive and unsafe . The bedrooms are in 'blocks' away from the main building
- Trevor (10/5): Great place - The staff were very helpful . Everything was as described in the booking . Ony this it can be hard to find
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matt (2/5): Very poor - In the middle of nowhere with no facilities for food after 7:30
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (8/5): great facilities, staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - Directions for parking were confusing and difficult to see. More lit signposts on site would be nice as well.
- Julia (8/5): Very good - Very good food and very good value for money Bed a bit small for 2 people
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Wing (7/5): Good -
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Jake (2/5): Room was extremely dated. The water had a rotten egg smell to it and tasted awful. I walked into my - Room was extremely dated. The water had a rotten egg smell to it and tasted awful. I walked into my room to find a half naked lady on the bed.
- Mark (7/5): Enjoyed my stay and would visit again. - Staff very polite and helpful.
- Allan (7/5): Way too warm coukdnt sleep - Breakfast was lovely WiFi didn't work. Room was noisy lots of noisy neighbours. TV very small room too hot coukdnt turn heating off
- Fiona (6/5): Ok - Very clean Difficult to find in the dark. Only one set of towels provided for 2 people.
- Mandy (5/5): Strange place - An average property. Conference facilities were OK. Well heated (not too hot or cold). The bar has a decent selection of alcoholic and soft drinks. Location isn’t great unless you have a car. Food average and mostly luke warm. Terrible free coffee which is basically undrinkable. There is a Costa in reception but it is not staffed and you have to ask for someone to serve you (most people can’t be bothered to ask). Rooms are dated with stained furniture, a shower that was too hot and my room which was supposed to be a Superior room, had a single and double bed pushed together in an attempt to create a King sized bed. Not a great phone signal and the WIFI is pretty poor too. All rooms are in 4 separate blocks which are reached via covered outdoor walkways. Food is expensive if you buy it separately.
This place used to be a training centre for a large corporate company and it feels that way.
- Liz (8/5): Very good -
- Joe (8/5): - Have stayed here before for work, property is convenient with breakfast and evening meal included in the price. Options in the restaurant for evening meal are pretty good, but it is cafeteria style.
No irons available for the rooms, but there are areas with irons and boards available. Rooms are generally okay but some areas where it is getting tired or damaged.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - This was a different experience in a conference centre Really nice, clean and comfortable room, with dinner and breakfast included. There is also a small gym, Costa and a bar. The staff were so friendly. Extremely good value for money. The only downside is it is an isolated location but not a great distance from the motorway. This wouldn't put me off staying again.
- Tibbott (8/5): Very good - The free meal voucher was great idea within the price I was very disappointed once in room I could only get 6 tv channels out of nearly 100. There was no signal for majority of the channels. So I had my firestick with me, but it would not fit into USB/HDMI in the back of the tv. Which I assumed all tv's were same fit, so disappointed.
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Geraldine (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (6/5): Pleasant - Good choice Bed was very used and not firm, small
Bathroom had missing tiling
Bedroom small
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant - Nice quiet location. Food was good Bed was very uncomfortable.
- Nigel (5/5): Disappointing - Good location for the midlands There are notices in the accommodation blocks asking people to keep the noise down which is clearly because they have an issue. During my own stay, people were having loud conversations in the corridor till gone midnight, not good when you’re trying to sleep.
I’d love to stay again as its location is great but would need to know some action had been taken to reduce the above.
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Cristina (7/5): The hotel room is in desperate need of a fresh paint. Otherwise good value for the money - Value for money Walls need a decent update on paint, the bathroom had quite a few patches on wall. Really poorly maintained
- Jonathan (7/5): Good -
- Aston (8/5): Overall great - Food was amazing Slight damp smell in the room
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable room with lovely, large shower. Excellent value with dinner and breakfast included. Food was lovely, with a good choice. Only thing I could suggest is a hair dryer.
- Athinarayanan (9/5): Overall Good experience - Location Hotel location far away from the city.Need to spend a high fare for taxi from Stafford train station.
- Stewart (10/5): Exceptional - Great facilities. Clean, adequate room. Great shower! Fabulous breakfast Ignore satnav and go via A34!!
- Gregory (10/5): Great value and well run - This is a large, well run conference centre
Clean and functional.
The staff were pleasant.
This is a pleasant area but not very exciting.
The evening meal was standard carvery.
breakfast was great.
Our deal was half board and excellent value. Nothing.
- Karen (8/5): Very convenient, location good for work - Nice surprise to have dinner included in the price
- Angela (8/5): - Rooms on the small side but clean & comfortable. Restaurant had short opening hours for breakfast and dinner, but plenty of choice & good value meals.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Kelly (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (4/5): Disappointing - Not much Very dated....had to ask for extra towels.
Half board was booked...felt like I was back in school with my tray asking for my meal.
Had to ask for a clean wine glass.
