Guest Reviews
- allatseaSouthampton (8/5): Great little hotel in convenient location - Stayed for two nights during a short break in London. Completed the on-line check-in in advance, and noted I was planning to arrive at 2pm. Check-in was 3pm, so I was expecting to have to leave my bag and get my room later, but was pleasantly surprised to find it ready. Was on the top (3rd) floor, with a view of the opposite side of Belgrave Road. Comfy bed, and decent bathroom. Convenient short walk for both Victoria and Vauxhall Bridge. Just a couple of minor niggles prevented a 5/5 rating:
- room was roasting hot on arrival, so I had to turn the radiator from full blast to off, and tried to adjust the aircon, but ended up not convinced it was making much difference. Tried opening the window, but there was quite a lot of road noise.
- found a loaf of bread and some chicken in a bag by the wardrobe, presumably from a previous guest. Other than that the room was clean and tidy.
- housekeeping threw away my shower cap after the first night. No big deal, as it was a freebie from another hotel, but just annoying.
Overall would definitely stay again.
- Adventurer42931 (10/5): A gem amongst the hubris. - What a wonderful place to stay for a short break to visit Tate Britain and enjoy the local international cuisine. i stayed in one of their small apartments, just a stroll across the road to 'O Sole Mio' and five minutes to Tate Britain.
Clean, private and modestly priced. what a find!
- Sivan (10/5): - Very friendly staff, clean room with all necessary amentities. Good location near victoria station.
- Lisa (8/5): - Great location and spotless. Next time we’ll ask for a room on a lower floor - lots of steps up to top floor with luggage and no elevator.
- Kevin (10/5): Family Vacation - Very close to Victoria Station. Staff friendly, gave us safety tips when out and about. Sainsbury's Food Store a block away. Would stay again.
- Chris (8/5): Review Oct 25 - Nice room, not massive but big enough for one person. Quite even though on ground floor.
Would stay again
- Lance (10/5): - Great setting just a few blocks off the beaten path from dining places.
- Thomas (10/5): - Helpful staff!
- H981OJalisonm (8/5): A very comfortable night - We stayed for one night at the Beverley as part of a trip to London celebrating our anniversary. The hotel is about a ten minute walk from Victoria Station but tucked away from the bustle of the area.
We paid and checked in in advance so there was no delay getting to our room. The room was comfortable with a comfortable double bed, wardrobe, en-suite bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. My only small criticism is that the bathroom had very little shelf space and towel hanging rails and could have done with a hook on the back of the bathroom door. Other than that it was an extremely pleasant experience.
- daniel (10/5): - Something to know is there is no elevator and a narrow stairwell. They help you with your luggage but we were on floor 3 which requires 6 sets of stairs. Rooms are small but nice and beds were very comfortable. We would stay there again.
- Susan (8/5): - The room was quiet and clean. Staff were very helpful. Its in a great location to the Victora train station and tube. Also, about 2 blocks away from the victoria bus station.
The only disadvantage was not having a small fridge in the room.
- Susan (8/5): - The room was very well appointed, however, if very small for 2 people. It was challenging to have 2 suitcases open at the same time. The bed was very comfortable, although each guest only received 1 pillow. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is in a very safe neighborhood and within walking distance of many attractions.
- Kathryn (10/5): - The staff were lovely and there are several nice dining spots nearby.
- 898curtisj (8/5): A decent little room and adequate staff. - Conveniently located small boutique hotel. The rooms were clean and staff was functionally adequate. They were not overly friendly and it seemed more like a business transaction than an attempt at service. They did meet a request for things in the room and ease of access.
- Randall (10/5): - Property is in a safe, convenient location with easy access to transportation, restaurants and a full service market. The staff, especially Mohamed and Glen were extremely helpful. However, rooms are very small.
- Constance (8/5): 1 night stay - Location was fantastic. Hotel is worn but overall good condition. My room was small but to be expected for a single room. That being said everything I needed was there. I don’t think I would stay for longer than a couple of nights because it feels cramped but perfect for 1-2 nights. Staff were very kind.
- Lynda (10/5): - We needed a room with the least stairs. They gave us the most perfect room on the ground floor, so no stairs at all.
- Rosanna (10/5): - Wanted somewhere near Victoria station
Safe clean and good reviews
Higher than wanted to pay but ticked all the boxes as a solo female traveler
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great place to stay! Not too far of a walk to the main sight seeing areas. The room was clean and comfortable. One thing I really appreciated was that we arrived pretty early to the hotel, although we couldn’t check into our room, they were able to hold our bags for us as we toured for the day! Highly recommend
- Jack (10/5): - Very small room, but decent bathroom even had AC and the window opened had a very nice quiet sleep would recommend
- John (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good hotel in a great location for our needs, staff were friendly and helpful. Room a little small but fime for my and my daughter.
- Tracy (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful . I felt safe and it was convenient to where I needed to be for 3 days . I would stay there again
- Lillian (10/5): - I liked that the hotel was on a quieter street and a nice neighbourhood. Restaurants and a grocery store were nearby. It was within walking distance to some of the tourist attractions.
- Marcian Mary (10/5): - Very convenient to both bus and train station. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- TONY TSAI PING (8/5): - Within reasonable walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Piccadilly Square and King’s Guard etc.
- pcscpa (4/5): Stay elsewhere - Booked this hotel based upon Rick Steve's recommendation. Three adults, two rooms, two nights. Paid in advance. We arrived early after a 10 hour flight from the west coast. Stopped in to drop our bags because check-in was at 3pm. Were told one of our rooms was ready and we were welcome to wait there until the other room was ready at 3. We were exhausted and the room was basically the size of the queen bed. It was impossible for all of us to rest. At 3 we checked on the other room and were told it actually wouldn't be ready until 6:30 pm because they allowed the prior guest a "late check-out". If check-out is 11 am, then a late check-out might be until 2:30 so that the room is available for the next reservation, right? No, they allowed the prior guest a 7 hour stay, most of it on our dime. They must have known when we arrived that this was the case, but they didn't tell us. As "compensation" they offered us three free breakfasts at their sister hotel, the Holiday Inn Express... Which obviously wouldn't cost them a dime and wouldn't compensate us for our misery, or their ripoff and deception. Plus, we realize now that we were grossly overcharged, given that the next hotel we stayed at, in upscale South Kensington, was truly a luxury hotel at a high standard and $300 cheaper overall. Ruck should remove this hotel from his tour books.
- Simon (8/5): - Well maintained hotel with good rooms but no other facilities. Short walk to Victoria Station.
- Clair (8/5): - Nice hotel, staff very welcoming. Room was clean, not large but it had everything you required. It was good that it had air conditioning, as the weather was warm. Nice quiet street within walking distance of Victoria station. Would stay again
- Derek (10/5): Great getaway! - My wife and I stayed here for four nights to have some time together this summer. We absolutely loved making the choice to stay at The Beverly Hotel. It was easy access to transportation, food, and all around a wonderful place to stay. The room was updated nicely and had cool A/C for when we got back from adventuring out in the city. We had an early flight getting to London and arrived to hotel at 9am to drop our bags off. We went out for breakfast and came back to an absolute blessing that we could check in early. The staff was super helpful and saw that we were tired and my wife was pregnant and needed a nap before we started our few days here. 5/5 would recommend!
- Dan (10/5): - Convenient location, walking distance from the Buckingham palace, tube, etc.
- Peter (10/5): - Great location really clean nice room. Friendly helpful staff. Really recommend it
- Wander14829553013 (8/5): Nice hotel handy for Victoria - Nice clean Hotel in the middle of Pimlico in easy walking distance of Victoria Rail and Coach stations. I had a single room which was quite compact however it was clean, had a nice bathroom and the aircon was excellent. I used this booking following a concert in Hyde Park as I did not want to travel back late at night on public transport.
- donna (10/5): - Lovely small hotel within walking distance of Victoria station. The gentleman at reception was very kind and helpful. We loved our spacious newly renovated basement room, which I never would have taken normally, but it was great. I highly recommend the Beverly!
- Dillon (4/5): - Room was visibly dirty upon checkin. (Toilet seat was soiled) I had to wipe down the sink and toilet with Clorox wipes. Black mold present in shower. Room smelled stale and musty. There is very little to no soundproofing. Our room was next to a storage closet and on the main level which was very loud all night with people coming and going through the main entrance, shouting. We stayed one night of our 4 night booking and left before checkout the next morning as my husband was ill. We were not refunded for that night even though we checked out with plenty of notice and front desk asked if they could release the room, we said yes. The lady working on the front desk was very kind and empathetic. The proximity to Victoria station was very convenient, however I can’t recommend this property unless you are spending very little time in your room and are a very heavy sleeper. The level of cleanliness was also not up to par for me especially given the nightly rate. There are much nicer hotels for the price range.
- Richard (2/5): A TERRIBLE NIGHT AT THE BEVERLY HOTEL - Our stay was terrible. We got in later than expected around 5:30 pm on Sunday July 6th. We then went out for dinner and didn't get back to our room until almost 10 pm. After awhile we noticed a really loud banging noise. It would last for approximately 4-5 seconds and then stop. This continued to go on between every 4-8 minutes. We contacted the front desk person. He said it was the air conditioner. He came up and turned it off and brought us a fan and said that should work. The noise continued after that. We went back down and asked if we could change rooms. The hotel was booked. He said their 2 other properties were also booked. He brought us rubber ear plugs to rectify the issue. That didn't help. The loud banging noise continued all night every 4-8 minutes. Obviously me and my traveling partner got no sleep that night. We had to get up early the next morning for a 7am tour of London we had booked months in advance. Needless to say it was a LONG day with no sleep. They moved us to a different room for the next 2 nights but at that point our stay was ruined because our ENTIRE schedule was off. I asked the guy on Monday morning about a refund for at least the first night's stay but got nowhere with him. This was my first time in London and my trip was RUINED. You can't recover from a lack of sleep the first night of your trip. I just got off the plane on my return trip to the US and got more sleep on that than at the hotel. I have audio of the noise but no pictures obviousl.
- Javier (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable but very small room.
- Zara (8/5): - Staff were lovely, room very spacious. Heated towel rail didn’t work and carpet a bit stained but no other issues. Great location and quiet.
- Dennis (10/5): Wonderful visit. - What a nice surprise and comfortable stay! The young lady who checked me in could not have been more friendly or accommodating. She alway seemed to be at the desk and was very friendly. While the room was on the small side, it was tastefully decorated and had all the necessary amenities. Also walking distance to Victoria station and many tourist sites. Will definitely stay again.
- MR philip (8/5): Weekend break - We occupied a double room on the third floor. Views of the London eye from the window.
Room on small size but enough room for a short stay. Clean and modern bathroom, again on the small side.
Bed was comfortable and we were able to sleep with window open.
No lift or restaurant but that wasn't an issue for us. Staff offered to carry suitcase up to room.
Check in and check out was efficient.
£160 per night - reasonable for London. Less tgan 5 min walk to Victoria station.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Boutique hotel in Pimlico - The Beverly sits in Pimlico and is just 3 blocks from Victoria Station making access to all of London very easy. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. The nearby neighborhood contains coffee shops, good restaurants, and several pubs.
- Paul (10/5): - Safe, quiet and convenient
- Carol (6/5): - The hotel does not serve breakfast, and there is none available nearby. Rooms have no viable work space, so guests lounge on the bed with a laptop. There is no concierge service. It is just a place to shower and sleep. TV reception was truly sketchy--just a couple of channels.
- Louise (10/5): - super friendly staff, nice rooms, will book this again
- John (6/5): - None
- Kris (8/5): - The staff were very helpful with directions or suggestions.
- Mike (6/5): - room was small
- ZoomLady (8/5): Great, quiet and central location - My third stay at this hotel was great again. I enjoy this property for its location near Victoria Station, its quiet residential street and comfortable rooms with air conditioning. The room (double) is big enough, but the bathroom is tight, especially shimmying between the sink and wall to get into the shower. No fridge in room, but a kettle is provided. This is a smaller hotel, so don't expect a big lobby or breakfast. If you're looking for a comfortable and safe central location with lots of restaurants within a 10-min walk, you'll enjoy this spot. Try Eccelston Yards for food or Harry's near Victoria Station for excellent food.
- Barb (8/5): - Accommodating early check in was a welcome surprise. Great location. Close to Victoria station which allowed us ample access to get where we needed to begin our exploration
- Mary (10/5): - This is a charming small hotel excellently located. The rooms are small but the space is used efficiently and had everything we needed. Beds are super comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come again!
- Chijioke (6/5): - Clean and nice staff. Basic room size. No lift and quite steeply stairs for a building 4 floors. Not worth the price paid.
- Robert (8/5): - Well located boutique hotel. Short walk to both Victoria Coach and Train stations, as well as several restaurants. The room is small (think interior cruise ship) but functional and clean. The room was ready on time and the staff was extremely friendly!
- Steve (10/5): - Very nice, quiet & private. Walking access to local sites such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Parliament & the Seine River. Only a few blocks from the Victoria Train and Bus Station.
- Susan (10/5): Excellent Boutique Hotel - Was a bit nervous about room size after reading some reviews. However, there was no issue at all. Hotel is quaint and well decorated size of room was bigger than I get in other parts of UK never mind London/
Great location just minutes from multiple restaurants and pubs
- Manuel (8/5): - Enjoyed my stay at the Beverly, got a good workout going up and down 3 flight of stairs.
- Peter (8/5): - We expected a clean, quaint boutique hotel and that’s absolutely how I would describe The Beverley Hotel. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the shower water pressure was great.
There is no elevator. Not a problem for us, but ask for a lower level if that’s an issue for you, for sure.
There’s not a vanity in the bathroom, just an fyi. The location is great. The Victoria Station is close with necessity shopping nearby. We went to St. George’s Tavern twice and it was really good!
- Barry (10/5): - Beautiful and quaint hotel loved our stay
- Bruce (8/5): - Location is perfect and the people were tremendous at the front desk.
- Jeanne (6/5): Just ok for 3 people - Many of the outlets did not work. It took a couple of requests to get someone to figure out how to get the air conditioner working. Maybe that is why the room was a bit musty. We were not in the main building, but a small house/room just behind the building. This is the only room they have for 3 people to stay together.
- Layne (2/5): - Relocated us the day of traveling from Los Angeles to a Holiday Inn Express. Gave us a free breakfast? I want a refund for one night.
- Paul (10/5): - 👍
- Linda (8/5): - Great central location if you want to talk from the coach station to some great sites in london.the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The room is quite tiny, and it is a walkup without elevator so keep that in mind. This wasn't an issue for us. The staff was friendly, and they left a little amenity kit on the bed which was a nice touch.
I want to give this hotel a higher rating but the carpets in the bedroom were atrocious. They appear to have once been beige but have black dirt all over them. I made the mistake of removing my shoes and you could FEEL the sludge in the carpet. We had to wear slippers the whole time we were there. I'd highly recommend a deep clean of the carpets... It would have elevated our stay significantly.
- Amiliah (4/5): - The room was so small i could not fit my luggage in the room. It had to go behind the door and could barely fit out. This would be excusable as all I needed was a bed, but the service was awful.
I recieved a message saying that early check in is available dependent on room availability. When I arrived I was told nothing was available yet. That was fine. But when I asked if he could tell me when a room became available he said I could just check in at 3 when I'm supposed to.
After a flight that landed at 6am I was exhausted and had to spend from 8-3 walking the streets of London. It was fun, but if you want a break, don't expect one here.
- natalie (10/5): - Comfy space
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Great location, clean room. Small but all as listed.
- Janet (10/5): - The staff were kind in that they saw we were elderly and the only twin bed rooms were on the third floor so they moved us to the first floor with a double and very comfortable pull-out single.
- Katherine (8/5): - The Beverley Hotel is in a great location, just a short walk from Victoria Station with easy access to the Tube and major London sights. There are lots of cute dining spots nearby, and the rooms are very clean. They are small, but that’s typical for London and didn’t bother us at all.
- William (10/5): - The staff went out of their way. Central located to all attractions.
The television could be better, spent a lot of time trying to find a station.
- kelli (8/5): - eat location, rooms are VERY SMALL . I would recommend room 102 it has much more space than 113. 102 has a queen bed I think and 113 had the 2 twin beds)
Although the staff were very friendly they did not know much about tours or the surrounding area. The hotel is a cute quaint place to stay for a
- kelli (8/5): - Great for a night or two, very small rooms staff very friendly but have limited knowledge of tours and to do 's close by.
If you need a longer stay request room 102 otherwise you cant move, dress, shower in the smaller rooms. They are so small you cant walk between the beds and the walls
- Ryan Mc (8/5): - It was nice and clean. We stayed in a revovated room.
Unfortunately, it is noisy and that was irritating when trying to sleep.
- Carol Ellen (10/5): Cozy little hotel in the heart of London. - This hotel was lovely. The room was cozy. Beds were comfortable. The staff was amazingly helpful and smiling every time we walked in. Our best stay so far on this trip.
- Ramone (8/5): - Peaceful and nice property if you just want to enjoy a few days in London. It is just a few mins walk to the Victoria station. Rooms are clean and the place is kept clean.
- Maycale Raj (10/5): - Good experience with the stay and 8 min from main Victoria coach station and site seeing places like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Eye and restaurants for dining close by is an advantageous. Appreciate reception staff mainly Mohammed and other two are friendly and supportive.
- Dima (10/5): - The room was small but convenient and clean. The staff was amazing. The surrounding area is perfect for tourists accessible to everything needed in central London. I just suffered of getting my bag over the stairs even the office girl offered to hold it for me. There is no fridge inside the rooms. Otherwise my stay was good and the price was fair
- George (8/5): - Very happy with stay. This was the second time we visited and stayed at the hotel, and although this time around we were in a smaller room on the ground floor, everything was still fine.
- Helen (6/5): - It was convenient for the theatre. Staff were obliging. I didn’t feel the facilities were up to par for price, but overall a satisfactory stay. I slept well with no noise disturbance from the street below
- Jackeline (10/5): Close to the Vitoria station, staffs are nice - Hotel walking distance is around 8 to 10 minutes from Victoria station, the location is easy to find. We arrived at late evening, still able to get something from the supermarket before they closed at 11pm. Shower is fine and the room is warm. Buckingham Palace is within walking distance. Staffs are very nice and we can leave our luggage’s for a while after we checkout.
- 942dane (2/5): Staggeringly bad, nice bloke at reception though. - The receptionist was a nice enough bloke.
The door to the room had been kicked in and made good with wood filler. I say “made good” the finishing looked like it done by Ray Charles with Michael J Fox as his fitters mate. A robust fart from an obese 8 year asthmatic on crutches would’ve put the door off its hinges.
The view from the window was of a selection of massage parlours, and no judgement if that’s what you’re after, but not for me.
The room was basic, relatively clean, aside from the stickers on the wall. It was grim, the kind of place Victorian prostitutes would be taken by syphilistic princes to be horrendously murdered. So that, but if Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen was asked to “shoosh” it up with a £20 budget.
To be fair the room was £120, I wasn’t expecting The Savoy but hoped for somewhere that didnt feel like Jack the Rippers west london pied a terre…
- Rory (10/5): - Great location and very clean property.
- Boston (10/5): - The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had good pressure. The bed took up over half the room, so be prepared for that. There is no elevator.
- PAUL (8/5): - Convenient, comfortable, cheap ! Perfect for a work overnight stay
- Joseph (8/5): - The property was ok. Convenient to shot tourist spots.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Loved our stay here. Staff were great, area is lovely, very close to public transit, and close to many tourist destinations.
- Charles (10/5): - Great value hotel, 10 minute walk to many great sites and lots of restaurants around. Mohammed at the front desk is the best!!!
- Brett (10/5): - Perfect spot for our “home base” in London !
- Gerard (10/5): - Excellent, clean friendly staff
- Lilia (8/5): - Everything was fine.
- Pranith Kumar (8/5): - Overall good
- Micaela (8/5): - For my trip, it was convenient, well priced and nicely presented. The website still says that a continental breakfast is on offer, which is no longer the case, but other than that, this was an excellent hotel - beautifully clean, really pleasant staff, well located and I liked my room very much - lots of space in the room albeit that the en suite was quite compact. I would stay here again
- Robert (10/5): - Anika was quick and helpful upon check-in. Hotel is located near bus and underground stations. Room was clean and comfortable. Would stay again for sure
- Kun (10/5): - Very close to transit union station.
- JoAnn (10/5): - Nice and clean easy access to the train station.
- John (10/5): It may be small but it gives you lots - The situation of the hotel was spot on for us close to the Apollo Theatre Victoria and equally close to Victoria Coach Station The staff were welcoming, very friendly and helpful. The room had everything we needed maybe a bit on the small side but for the price and location it takes a lot of beating.Thank you once again The Beverley Hotel Belgrave Road London
- PINKY (6/5): NO ELEVATOR, STAIRS ONLY - Staff is really accommodating, responsive and friendly; that’s for the 3 stars especially Kuma at the front desk. I gave 3 stars because they HAVE NO stairs. I don’t think it was stated in the description, I think I overlooked at that. We have 2 big luggage at 50 lbs each, 2 carry ons and personal backpacks. There’s NO WAY we would have carried those on the stairs. Staff was kind enough to give us a room on the first floor. Another thing is that there’s a couple steps on the facade to the front door so that was also quite a struggle to haul this luggage I mentioned. Other than that, proximity to Victoria Station and city center was awesome.
- LouBNZ (4/5): Shame about the damp and slightly smelly carpet. - I stayed while visiting the Chelsea Flower Show so accommodation at a premium. This is easily the most expensive cupboard with a bed that I've ever slept in. The bathroom however was full size, well appointed, clean and possibly bigger than the bedroom.
Happy to admit I'm a bit miffed mainly because of the price for the size of the room and that applies to all London Hotels in the vicinity of Chelsea at this time of year.
However; the tiny room was do-able as it had a window, plenty of light and high ceiling BUT it also had a leak somewhere (actually the spouting above the window and rain ran down the window/outside wall and presumably through the wall/sill) which meant the room was damp when it rained and a little smelly. I reported this to reception but I'm not sure they were bothered.
No lift. Central to Victoria Stn. Heating and aircon worked well.
- Urs (10/5): - Very clean, good location.
- Aurelia (8/5): - The staff was very accommodating and helpful.
- maxine (10/5): - Glenn and staff were great. Very reasonable rates clean and efficient.
- Richard (6/5): - Excellent and helpful staff. The location was close to Victoria Station in a pleasant area. The hotel is listed as 3.5 stars - but is a bit old and shabby.
