Guest Reviews
- Amanda (8/5): - Quaint little cabin. Clean and cozy. Perfect for a camping weekend experience. Quiet and calm.
- Richard B (10/5): - Very nice emploees.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Older hotel poor quality furniture - Older hotel. Poor quality furniture. Limited amenitues. No hangers for your clothes. The air conditioner unit super loud. Difficult to get a good night sleep.
- heather (10/5): - They are so nice and would stay again
- William (8/5): - every employee we met were super friendly and helpful. the pool was closed for refurb, there was a very large unavoidable pothole pulling into the property
- Derryl (2/5): - Where to start... Busted up driveway, open electric box, sand in bed, snoring neighbor needs CPAP... Left early. Can't upload photos
- fred (8/5): - I enjoyed my stay here and I will stay again
- Penny (6/5): Hunting trip - I guess for the price it was okay for my husband and sons for an over night hunting trip. There were no towels, washcloths or any shampoo/soap in the bathroom.
- David (10/5): - So straightforward. Good place to rest and clean up after a fishing trip.
- Chad (10/5): - Property clean and friendly staff. Easy check in and out.
- Daren (4/5): - We got fish a high school turbulent
Our A/C did not work and lights did not
Work in bath ,so could not take shower
- Cindy (2/5): No hot water!!!! - We were told at check in there was a problem with the hot water and it would be warm not hot. When we went to shower several hours later it was cold, and remained that way till we checked out.
- Brandon (10/5): - People at desk was helpful . Room has lazy boy recliner. Which is perfect for me. I have back problems and made the stay more comfortable
- Henry (10/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and the price was reasonable. I'd have no hesitation about staying here again, or recommending it to others.
- K5104LYmichelej (10/5): Great place to stay! - Our company needed a local motel for a few of our out of town employees. Weiss Lake Lodge have been very accommodating to our needs. Staff is very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to help us out. The motel is an older motel. Convenient to Weiss Lake and the surrounding areas.
- Kim (10/5): - Everything was perfect
- Lucas (10/5): Incredible stay for incredible price!! - I have stayed in many rooms here, all were a great experience! Very clean, smells nice, always stocked on amenities. Staff is also very helpful! Thank you Weiss Lake Lodge!
- Hayley (6/5): Met the basics. - Stopped over to visit family for a few nights. No muss room with a bed, tv, mini fridge, shower, and separate sink. It's not updated and the cabins don't look like they're active anymore, but a reasonably priced place that met basic needs.
- Regina (8/5): - Very friendly check in. Rooms were clean but lighting in rooms was terrible. Good TV service. We had no Wi-Fi because a code wasn't given to us at check in. Comfortable and clean bed. Again, the guy that checked us in was very accommodating. I think the lighting needs to be improved and an ice machine would be nice.
- Sheryl (8/5): Basic but clean and spacious - Lots of room, especially the bathroom. Very basic amenities. The bed could use a thicker mattress pad and more pillows! Was clean though and felt safe. Good for the price!
- Joelina (6/5): - The property was very quaint but you need new cleaning staff and an attendant that is actually in the office. Also, doing away with the shady activity going on would help tremendously. We didn’t feel comfortable leaving our motorcycles outside.
- Penny (8/5): - The cabin is set up more like a camp ground. You have to walk to the toilet and/or shower. No TV, the pool was not ready to swim in. Pets are not welcome according to the sign on the office window.
However, the cabin was clean, the toilet was clean, the shower could have done for a quick clean. The staff were excellent (especially the gentleman at the check in/out desk.) God knew that I would appreciate my home luxuries (adjustable bed, TV, game console, etc.) by doing without for a few days. It was my mistake to stay in the cabin instead of a room. But it was worked out well for me.
Peace and quiet.
- Jacob (8/5): - Great staff, old school style, and old school beds that need to be replaced. That mattress bounced so much you'd think you were on a water bed.
- Trina (2/5): - Not what was advertised.
- Richard (8/5): - Nice location the room needs a new shower curtain and the new mattress
- Jenny (8/5): - It was over all pleasant
- CHRISTOPHER (2/5): SUCKS - The place is named with a lake ans shows pictures of the lake but NO LAKE. It was the only reason we chose the property. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING for the entire family.
Roaches in the room. STAY AWAY
- Jon (8/5): - Newly renovated very clean
- Laura (10/5): - Reservation clerk awesome! He helped me tremendously last 2 visits! Nice 1st floor rooms only.
- Cathy (6/5): - They had roach bugs
- Matthew (10/5): - Very cool place
- Carey (10/5): Got what was advertized - the stay was good for what we needed. Room was clean and free of bugs, did not smell bad at all. water and toilet worked.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - I was skeptical at first (I usually am when staying somewhere for the first time) but was super surprised at the cleanliness of the room and friendliness of the staff also. Cannot say anything bad about this place. Everything was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and safe area
- Laura (10/5): - Office guy helpful and nice.
- Halie (4/5): - good price. you get what you pay for ig.
- Andrew (10/5): - Motel employees were nice, recently remodeled & clean
- Joni (10/5): hiking trip - it is a old time motor lodge but not run dow. its up to date and clean and quaint.. the staff is amazing and nice. they actually have real keys not scan cards.. i felt safe kinda like mayberry.. i was there for hiking the area. it was perfect. i will stay again
- Ken (4/5): - Shower room and toilet rooms were moldy
- Paula (4/5): - We called the property before booking on hotels.com to ask if they had pet friendly rooms still. We have stayed at this property probably 20 times or more with our dog. We were told they no longer allowed pets. Reluctantly we found a sitter for our baby and stayed anyway. When we arrived to the property there was not 1 but 2 huskies in 1 room and a smaller dog in another room. When I questioned the staff about it. He said that he just couldn't turn anyone away that he was a animal lover. I totally understand that, but I don't like to leave my girl either and I was told she couldn't be on the property. I tried to let that go we were booked for 2 nights. We get up and go to the lake with family the next day and when we get back @ 5:00 they had not even serviced our room. No clean towels/washcloths. When we question why we were told they do not do that anymore because they have walked in on people in inappropriate situations. Um.... They know to knock right?!?! To be honest I used to like to stay here because for the most part it's clean and they are friendly. It was still decently clean and the guy at the counter told my husband he was just helping out and didn't technically work there was nice but if he doesn't really work there I mean he can't help what they do or don't do. For me this is one of the worst experiences I have had at this property and after staying here many many times I think I will just look into a new place to stay!
- lori (10/5): - This is an old fashioned motor lodge. The rooms are clean and fresh.
- Heather (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Everything was great. I called to let the staff know that I would be late checking in and the gentleman was super friendly even though I didn't arrive until after 1pm.
- James (8/5): - Very noisy but convenient to location.
- Daniel (10/5): - Are you the lady that ran the front desk was very nice
- Karen (8/5): - It was good. Could of had comfortable pillows. But good.
- Diego (4/5): - Liked staff, but room was dirty and shower was only luke warm
- Alene (8/5): last minute booking - On arrival, ice machine out of order, direct tv went out and really needed some updating.
Owner was very nice but rooms were not great.
- Genevieve (4/5): - It says pool garden cafe and coffee shop i didnt see any
- Sherry J (2/5): - This was the worst place we have stayed. We found needle cap in bathroom, no hot water filthy. Hard bed. Rude owner. Tried to charge me twice. Complained about Expedia. Never again
- Juanita (8/5): - It was clean but would not stay there again. Bed was very uncomfortable and could hear everything.
- Cynthia (2/5): - Beds are terrible, nothing but springs. The room was dirty. Toilet ran the whole time. Had to go get more towels because no one cleaned and wouldn’t bring more. Asked to switch rooms and was told no. Something outside room that looked like blood on the ground. Staff was rude. Never stay again!!
- Tim (10/5): Fun Classic Mote - Pool was suspect, but the rooms were clean and comfortable.
- James (8/5): - This is a nice property. It is close to the lake and, in addition to a swimming pool, has an outdoor picnic shelter. They also have a freezer where you can store your fishing spoils during your stay. Surrounding area was very quiet. I enjoyed my stay.
- lori (10/5): - We found our room at Weiss Lake Lodge to be updated with new bathroom and overall very clean. We had read previous reviews and were a little cautious, but the location was perfect for our needs. We were very happy we chose the lodge and will return.
- James (10/5): - Room was clean and nice. Exceeded my expectations
- Dennis (8/5): - It had a vacancy, wifi, TV.
Did not have breakfast as stated. It wasn't really a lodge, lake nearby. It was way off the interstate. Old barebones lodging.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Decent place clean could use better towels
- Dennis (6/5): - The price was cheap. Windows were dirty. There was an overstuffed chair in the room with stains on the seat cushion that looked like sperm stains. I wouldn't even put my bags on it much less sit on it. I opened the window blinds to let in the light and they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. There was a tip envelope on table and I gave the cleaning service a few housekeeping tips...and a few dollars.
- Dalton (10/5): - Very clean
- Tobie (8/5): - Property was nice, up to date and clean. It was a nice location for where it was and seemed to be a Fishermans dream Lodge down the road from the Lake.
Beds were hard and pillows were flat. There was really no furniture in the rooms except for a couple of metal chairs and a plastic chair. Microwave and fridge were nice but the coffee was horrible. I would recommend this place to others just for the price and the pizza was good too...!
- Reneita (8/5): - Economical room, clean, close to places to eat, bed was comfortable.
- Leon (8/5): Totally budget - There weren't a lot of options in this area, and we were drawn to the fish statues. However, once it gets dark - it is impossible to see the fish, if you were using it as a landmark and easy to overshoot it. I only saw 5 other cars on the night I was there, so that's not a lot of volume for a Friday night. I read a review that the owners were racists, but did not experience anything like that. It's a super budget place as reflected in the price. The mattress wasn't bad, the soap is bottom dollar and the pillows were terrible. Wifi was fine, TV was fine. Could use something simple like an update to the comforters.
- Sherri (4/5): Nope - Sorry, but I just don't understand the positive reviews. The room was old, the bed hard. The ac wasn't even on before we arrived, and from the cobwebs on the unit, it had been a while. Supposedly one room left when I booked, all told there were 3 or 4 rooms occupied.
- Roger (8/5): Good. Clean. Maybe a little too high price. - Clean, fresh and modern. My only concern was the a/c fan turned off when it reached temp. Wiuld have preferred to have it run constantly
- LifeinCamoMedia (2/5): NOT WHEELCHAIR/HANDICAP FRIENDLY - This hotel discriminates against handicap or wheelchair bound clients. After taking the reservations they would not honor them because one customer was in a wheelchair. They refused to honor the reservations and there was hardly any vehicles in the parking lot so rooms were available. They advertise wheelchair assessable—but don’t honor your reservations if you arrive in one. Very rude front desk person as well.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The owner/manager was very rude and i stayed there due to my house having some structeral problems making unsafe to stay there, they charged me $85 because we needed to check in at 10 am due to gf working nights then after checkout they charged my card for a total of $378 for 2 nights and when i called them they told me i didnt check out and drop off key in drop box which was a lie and she informed me she had made a copy of my credit card and had called the police.i was able to call the bank and get the amount they had overcharged put back on my card but had to cancel my card.i would not recommend staying here and if you do watch your card charges to make sure they dont try this again.good luck
- Jaimie (8/5): Would stay again! - Suited our needs well. Bed was comfortable enough, but wish I had brought my pillows from home. Bathroom was large and clean, air worked well. Would stay again if staying in the area again.
- Reatha (6/5): Lumpy mattress. Racist owners. - I was not trying to get my money back. I simply tried to let whomever know that bathroom is nice. The bedsheet were not old. The recliner looked so nice. (Didn't sit in it) the mattress was supposed to be a queen. It was between a full and queen. Man that mattress was old as hell. It was so lumpy too. When I went to let owners the little wife started yapping at me telling me how wrong I was. I didn't go up there to be verbally accosted. I only wanted them to know how uncomfortable the mattress was and my hubby and I were bumping into eachother all night. I left after two nights of no sleep because of a lumpy mattress. Do after she and her spouse read my review she said something was new and is she gonna give my money back. I think she meant to say she wasn't. I never asked for money. Mattress might be okay for a pro fisherman, but it is nothing to write home about unless you tell them not to stay there. She even said something to me about white people want everything..
- Joshua (8/5): - The hotel was adequate for a short stay but very cramped if staying more than a couple of days. Centrally located to several good sites but not much in the way of food. We would stay here again if need be.
- Lisa (10/5): - Very clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was clean and relaxing. The staff was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean. Host was not very pleasant
- 655SteveB (8/5): Clean Older Motel - The hotel was very clean. Upkeep on this older hotel was very noteworthy. I would stay again. The only issue I had was thin walls. The neighbors came in late and I could hear them talking through the walls. Other than that it was good. I highly recommend if you are looking for a spot on a budget.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No Breakfast was disappointing but MacDonald's is close by . The Room was clean and updated (modern). Clean carpet and clean bathroom. Good Microwave, coffee pot and refrigerator in room. AC/Heater was clean and worked well. No hint of mold at all. I travel a lot on business and one of my big complaints is that many hotels do not keep the AC flushed clean. The condensation drain will start to plug and result in mold growth. I always check for that and when I find it I refuse the room.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Quaint little place good for a night or two. Nothing fancy but comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean. Close to fishing. Limited toiletries for 2 people
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a clean large room with the usual hotel furnishings. The room was well insulated. I only occasionally heard truck traffic driving by on the nearby highway.
- haskew22 (8/5): Family trip - This was our 3rd stay here in the last 4 yrs.
This trip, we stayed for 3 nights.
We brought a 2" foam mattress to put on top, because the mattresses are very firm.
The new owner is polite and gives good service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property and rooms were very clean. You can tell that the owners really care about cleanliness. The only thing I would like to have seen different was new shorter shower curtains.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bed is very uncomfortable. There is no hair dryer in the room. You have to pay $2 for ice.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Rooms looked nice but the owners shut off the AC during the day so the room was 100 degrees when we checked in and it didn't cool down until morning when we got up. I also got bitten by what appears to have been bed bugs all over my body.
- Holly (10/5): - This place is great! Super clean rooms, friendly staff & we will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The rooms have been updated but they forgot bed side lights, electrical outlets not at the bed side and the front door had day light all the way from top to side to bottom edges on opening side.
On check in I told the owner I paid Expedia he said that's not possible then charged me again for the room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Possibly Under New Management - I believe it must be under new management, as they tried using my confirmation# from hotels.com as a credit card #, even though I had a hard copy of the email stating paid in full & room guaranteed. Had the credit card machine not been broken, I have no doubt I would have been double charged. I know this, because I received a knock on the door right after I unloaded my car - 2 women stated my credit card had been declined & I needed to go to the office ASAP to give another card. This was strange, because I hadn't given them a credit card since I paid in full online. I had to pull up my credit card statement & confirmation email (the front desk kept my hard copy) in order to prove I'd already paid. There were no apologies, except "Sorry credit card machine was broken." It had nothing to do with the credit card machine. After driving for hours in heavy traffic I just wanted to rest before I visited my family. That was impossible, as the stress of being treated like a bum during check in caused me to have a 2 day stress headache. Since I now have fam in AL I am trying to find a hotel or lodge to stay in during my visits. Although the room is big, I won't be staying there for future visits. I also wasn't given any toilet paper or enough towels - thankfully, I brought my own towel in case I wanted to swim (the pool was disgusting) & I had paper towels. Very few channels & no WiFi access. No trail or sidewalk to the lake in spite of the website stating you can walk there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Although It stated they had WiFi. It was out. This wasn't an area I was familiar with. I went there for a funeral
- Paul (10/5): Memorable Fourth of July! - My wife, daughter, and I stayed 2 nights for Fourth of July weekend. We were surprised at how great overall this lodge was from start to finish! Warm friendly welcome, clean rooms, and comfortable environment. The pool and throwing horseshoes were a highlight to the stay! We look forward to staying again in the future. Thanks for a memorable holiday weekend!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was super nice. Location is good, not in the center of town but not far away. Pet friendly which is great, but not many grassy areas. Would benefit from a fenced in area for animals. Noise level is poor. Can hear everything going on around room. Overall stay was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and very fast staff. Close to the river. And you get a free round of putt putt golf with your purchase not many places have that kind of deal.
- Tina (10/5): Great stay! - We had a great stay! Staff were super friendly!
- MilanS775 (6/5): Weiss Lake Lodge - Just average (less), but staff friendly. It is good for emergency only one night. Walls very thin so you can hear every word from your neighbor. Bed uncountable. As I say good for emergency only. Can,t recommended.
- lollydonna18 (10/5): Family Emergency - We have family that lives in the area. Our uncle was admitted to the hospital unexpectedly. It’s 2 hour drive for us so we grabbed a room here. We drove by on our way into town and remarked about how cute it was. Went on farther to the Days Inn. It just didn’t have the “feel”. Came back to Weiss Lake Lodge and we were so happy that we did. Rooms are newly updated and extra clean! The girl at the counter was a sweetheart! We occasionally come this way and we will be spending more time at this location!
- hardrockh (10/5): Best place in town! - Been coming here now for almost 10 years, this time for almost 3 weeks. My crew loves it! Clean, friendly American owned hotel! You won't have a better stay than here! Be back again next year! Reasonably priced, comfortable, quiet, and a Oasis for any sportsman or worker to stay!
- JaneDoe8798 (10/5): Great place!! - We stayed here for business and they had all the rooms we needed. The rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly. It is American owned and operated. We will be back next year. Highly recommend. There was a recliner in our room very comfy!!
- silligreenfrog (10/5): Super! 💛 - These people are as sweet as sweet tea that Momma used to make! The grounds are very clean, with good parking, the rooms are very clean and smell good 😊!! ❤️❤️❤️ the bathrooms the shower pressure and soft towels!! My husband and son ❤️ playing horseshoes! The pool was awesome and the grilling/picnic area was super nice right next to the horseshoes. It was fantastic being able to wash & dry our clothes while playing on the internet. Would love to stay here again!
- Rjones_6 (10/5): Great rates! Nice, clean rooms! Pool! - We have stayed here many times and will again! The staff is very nice and helpful, they have great prices, the rooms are nice and clean, and there is a pool! We had a small dog with us each time and they gave us a pet-accommodating room and dog food! Very nice people.
The Kenney's
- lindacox000 (10/5): weiss lake - we went to see wises lake it is a beautiful place we loved it if you can make planes to visit it . the water is so pretty ,we spent a day there and we loved every minute of it, the sand is so clean the area is so nice
- letstakearoadtrip (10/5): Nice and Reasonable - This hotel is small and family owned. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Fridge and microwave in the room and large video surveillance parking lot with plugins for boats. Great for fisherman. Pool for families.
- davee970 (10/5): Outstanding! A Hidden Gem for Budget Minded Fisherman!!! - WoW!! There is even a fish cleaning station here and they have a deep freezer for your fish. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable beds.
There is even access on the internet at the lodge lobby. You are only minutes away from town and there is a McDonald's just down the road for a power breakfast before fishing. Terry Whaley, a very famous world class crappie guide, owns the Lodge.
- Baybug2012 (6/5): Omg there was a drug bust there this week!!!! - We were visiting family in the area today. The place was nice. The walls are paper thing. It was raining outside and I thought my son was in the shower. Family informed us there was just a drug bust several days earlier. Thankgoodness it did not happen while we were there. Never ever again and lesson learned.
- kevindM1899OZ (10/5): Week Long Stay at The Lodge - My wife and I were in the Cedar Bluff area for a small business venture and decided to make a vacation out of it. We were only going to stay there for 4 days, but ended up being there for a full week. The price for the room is very reasonable. The rooms are kept very well and clean. It has been open for a few years now they tell me, but it looks like it could have been open last week. The staff is great. They are very polite and you know that you are welcome. If we are ever in the Weiss Lake area again, we will stay again. And by the way, it's AMERICAN OWNED.
